I’ve always assumed that gaster and the dreamers had a parental relationship, considering that he seemed pretty young (teenager) when they took him in, plus it’s kinda implied that gaster had a abusive or at least neglectful childhood so it makes sense that he would want to view asgore and torial as parental figures.What do you think?

Also sorry about pestering you about fell!Handplates but it’s such a fun au. But how do you think gaster first reacted when the dreamers started becoming cruel?

Yup! Generally speaking I view Gaster as having a mostly parental/filial relationship with the Dreemurrs, and that evolving into a (mostly) platonic family dynamic, though it is kind of complicated with Asgore being his King and boss and Toriel disappearing and them grieving her together - I think it brought them closer, and not necessarily in only healthy ways ♪

Haha, I don't really mind, but I can only give my own thoughts and opinions on it! Some of it is stuff I'd also like to know haha ♫

I kind of assumed they were Fell from the beginning, that the argument is that Monsters are just Like That, it's in their Nature, and Fellplates!Gaster is trying to find proof that Monsters are capable of change, that with the "correct" kind of Nurture, they don't have to act on their Fell impulses. As for when he was inspired to start looking for that, hmmm ♪

Eunjae's personality isn't even that particularly strong. It's... nonchalant. Their strength comes solely from their ability to not show whether or not they care.

More often than not, they don't. But it's not a sense of carelessness caused by a reckless outlook on life where nothing matters because they'll always come out on top anyway. They aren't disinterested for a lack of interest, either, there are plenty of things out there to sneak into, plenty of things even they have been caught raising an eyebrow at in wonder - like their current tutor.

It's just... exhausting.

To care.

Even now, they stand and listen to their tutor stumble his way through a Korean response with half a note of 'oddly pleased' slipping into the drumming of their heartbeat only to have it substituted by... exhaustion.

Because everything matters. And nothing does, right?

School is the exact same thing. Eunjae would be perfectly capable to handle mastering the English language on their own. They even see the value in it, which is not something they could say for a lot of other subjects. Hell, they're half inclined to care about learning it via the traditional having someone teach it to them way solely to not send Grace back home with zero advancement in something - for some reason, they feel like he's not in it for the money, maybe it oozes out of him, but... he seems to actually genuinely give a shit.

It's just... where's the point?

There are several. Primary language for international communications, the opening of doors to different further education paths, to certain careers, an extra skill to simply have when they might need it most or simply to stimulate their mind.

Eunjae stands there in front of the vending machine, hearing the first mention of a friend, watching their tutor nod in apprehension because unlike them they actually care about improving and learning and getting somewhere, and wonders...

They don't really feel like teasing anymore.

"A very popular choice is always banana," they start, then they clear their throat and try really hard to not appear insecure, embarrassed, or guilty. "Banana is favourite of... many," they repeat in English, then promptly nod and turn away.

They scout the flavoured milk hidden behind the glass of the vending machine as if that mattered. "Strawberry," they continue in careful, tip-of-ears-reddening English, "coffee," they hide the cringe of every 'F' popping into a 'P' with the nonchalance of their shoulders. "Chocolate. Do you... like?"

The only person who really knew about the habit, was his mother as wasn't something people treated with kindness and that was well before he'd been an teenager. Or even had any clue about his father. Expensive nail polish replacing the old staples. Ability to get them done, have somebody else do it becoming an constant. Yet rather often he still found the motions comforting. Private, locked bathroom door uncommon for him. On the counter at 4am when the weeks worth of constant fun began to show. Cracks, chips however microscopic. Peeled off; covered over with precise neat fresh polish. So even though the need to seek the old comfort grew. He did his best to not chew, bloody up his fingers and just threw more different habits into the mix. Constant distractions. Nothing new, but not like his life before.
