It had been a week since the election of Helena Rosier to Senior Undersecretary, the people were looking forward to peace and prosperity and the months ahead at the end of which they’d choose a new Minister for Magic. Having one piece of the puzzle made everyone feel better, safer, more prepared for what was to come. The fear and uncertainty had begun to dissipate as a relative calm fell over Wizarding England. War seemed a far off concept, something of the (recent) past, not the sort of thing that creeps up on the innocent, unsuspecting and safe in the arms of the natural world order. It was this moment the blow came, as if from behind, no one saw it coming. Oh, but they should have.

Emmeline Vance was a formidable woman, she was a weapon forged from sorrow and pain and it was her intent to eradicate half breeds and their kin from the face of the earth. This was not the mask she presented in polite society, not with the cruelty and fire she felt running through her veins as her plan fell into place, perfect and deadly. The blood moon, the blue moon, two in one. If it had been the normal sort of thing it was meant to be everyone would have been fine.

St. Mungos had set up a staging area for those citizens afflicted, the ones who wanted wolfsbane, the ones who wished to be kept safe. But Emmeline knew better, those creatures didn’t want safety, they wanted bloodshed and carnage and destruction, and oh she was going to give it to them. With the help of her own followers, those Opposition fanatics she had learned to put to good use, they had tampered with the hospital’s supply of wolfsbane, rendering the potion useless. Within hours of sunset the place would be overrun. Though they had prepared a fine cage for the beasts the locks were somehow broken, not by magic but sheer strength it seemed, those docile beasts breaking free of their restraints and filling the night with howling and screams.

But that wasn’t the only area of disaster, oh no, Emmeline couldn’t risk it not being horrific enough. She and her followers had been taking people from the street, innocent wixen, those too poor or too unimportant, those that wouldn’t be missed and turning them. One werewolf became twelve, became fifty-three and suddenly she had a bloodthirsty and uncontrollable army. They filled these poor souls with hate, tormenting them until they were nothing but the feral beasts they harbored and setting them loose on quiet suburban neighborhoods as the blue blood moon rose high in the night sky.

By sunrise the mist was filled with the scent of blood. Emmeline woke sound in her bed at home, filled with the knowledge she had damned Remus Lupin and his little Uprising, full to the brim with a smug superiority. It did not occur to her that she had, by her own hand and choice, slain innocents; innocents like her own mother. That she had afflicted dozens more with a curse. It did not occur to her that she was more a beast than any of them. She rose to flick on the news to see chaos, fires raging, mothers crying and the snarling of a werewolf on a badly shot camera phone.

Remus Lupin woke naked in his cage, one sturdily built, magicked, well guarded by his friends who all looked terror stricken and pale, news stations on every available monitor, phones ringing in every pocket. He got dressed quickly and began to understand the horrors that had befallen London while he slept as a wolf in a cage. If he did not find himself dead or in Azkaban by lunch he would be lucky and his campaign had all but crumbled. Many in the Uprising had abandoned the castle and the rumours that Remus himself had ordered the strikes, orchestrated the attacks, swirled in the air as he collapsed to the stone floor.

Rodolphus Lestrange was shaken awake by his brother, pulling a sweater over his ragged locks as Rabastan turned on the enormous screen he had in his bedroom, the sun barely sneaking between the curtains. Mass panic ensued and Rodolphus quickly abandoned the sweater for a shower and a suit. Rabastan was already dressed and Evan was waiting at the ministry when they arrived, they had to make a statement immediately but no one could find Severus Snape.

Alecto Carrow stirred, her murky green eyes slitting open to unfamiliar surroundings. For a moment she panicked but she placed herself as quickly, Severus Snape’s basement, the cage he had built holding up, though she credited the Wolfsbane he’d supplied her with with half the credit. She was naked and didn’t blush as she saw him in the room, dressing in the clothes he had provided. Outside she heard emergency sirens begin to wail and fear ripped through her, had they been caught?

Helena Rosier sat in a dark exam room, Ted Tonks’s arms wrapped around her heaving shoulders. Both of them were red with trauma, both of them working that night. It was supposed to have been Helena’s last shift. The girl was full of grief and anger, not sure which one to allow out, they were both too tired to distinguish emotions for too long. Loved ones hadn’t been called and Ted’s mind drifted to Regulus as Helena whispered his name, sending a text that wasn’t going through, the towers overloaded with desperate calls to loved ones.

If not already awake with the horror, everyone rose that morning to a new world, one where werewolves could destroy cul de sacs and rip apart soccer moms, where howling caused grown men to wet themselves and St. Mungos, hit harder than anywhere else, reeked of blood.

this is our full moon event. We realize the blue blood moon was the 31st but we wanted an event surrounding it. This event took place over the night of the full moon. It will begin friday as soon as it is published and will end monday @pm est.

1. Please please tag threads appropriately, this event is rather dark and involves heavy themes of violence so please tag everything and use read mores as necessary.

2. Threads may begin with the sun setting for the full moon, they can take place during the evening, the night, the morning and day after. As there is a lot of confusion in events like these we encourage your character to be somewhere odd, especially if they rushed to help.

3. Alecto Carrow was locked up and had no involvement, neither did Remus Lupin as his friends can vouch that he was also locked up the entire time.

4. the use of npcs is allowed and encouraged

5. communications the morning after the full moon are down, so texts won’t send, calls won’t connect. The old fashioned way is barely working with many owls spooked and many people too distraught to send a patronus with a message. Apparition has been suspended for the time being and floo networks are closed. (Severus Snape, Rodolphus Lestrange or Evan Rosier may make this announcement).

6. NO ONE knows about Emmeline’s involvement, not even Rodolphus and no one even suspects. The followers she involved and people she turned are, at current, npcs and may be used by Emmeline for plotting and other purposes for this event.

7. The world at large believes Remus Lupin is at fault, there will be consequences. Many members of the Uprising are also under suspicion and warrants should be issued by the authorities by sunrise. This does not include double agents such as Helena Rosier and Evan Rosier. If your character is Uprising and thinks they would have been outside Hogwarts they can logically have been arrested. Rodolphus Lestrange would surely like them all brought in for questioning.

8. The werewolves involved in the attack have either been captured and put in azkaban without trial or killed on sight, per the orders of the wizengamot. Only Helena can officially challenge this authority at this point.

9. The death toll continues to rise as the sun does, no one has an exact account but it is believed to be near 1237 by eight am the morning after.

10. Participation in this event is optional! WE understood not all members may want or be able to partake and that is okay! However, previous threads should be wrapped up as this event changes the course of the rp and sets the stage for war.

PLOT POINTS OF THE WEEK

welcome to our little soiree:

After some preparation, the decorations were set, the menu was planned, and the date was set. Rodolphus Lestrange hosts a fancy dinner exclusively for the pureblood society to have some entertainment and also discuss their plan of action during these trying times. Despite some small issues here and there, the gathering goes extremely well and everyone gets to go home reassured that the Lestrange family will both protect the pureblood legacy and their identities of those who are involved in less than legal extracurricular activities (that part is, obviously, discussed by a selected group behind closed doors.) It has been a lovely evening, with delicious food, some catching up that had to be done, and filled with secrets and whispering walls - pretty much a classic pureblood banquet.

(The Lestrange’s dinner party is celebrated on October 14th - roleplay date. Everyone with strong ties to the pureblood families can attend, mostly Death Eaters and Death Eaters supporters or part of the elite true neutrals. Players can choose to post starters happening before, during, or after the dinner party)

dumbledore did what?!:

The pureblood elite was distracted, and apparently the Order of the Phoenix didn’t waste any time. On October 15th, at around 5 am in the morning, Headmaster Albus Dumbledore called in an emergency meeting via Patronus Charm. All the members were surprised when they arrived to the secret location and found nothing less than Elphias Doge’s pensieve. Both Dumbledore and Alastor Moody managed to steal it from the Ministry’s special vault before any Death Eater could put their hands on it. The news haven’t exploded yet, but they will soon. The pensieve is going to be hidden and analysed by Dumbledore. Now all the Order members know about the note found at the office that revealed the existence of other spies.

(If any Order member would like to be a part of the Pensieve heist, message the main so I can accommodate their role in it. As mentioned before, all the Order members now know about the existence of the note that was hidden by the Ministry. Players can post starters both before and after the Order meeting for this particular plot point. They can also choose to reveal these news to anyone including Order supporters or neutrals.)

quidditch season: Quidditch teams have already resumed their training! Get those brooms ready because they coaches need to make up for the lost time.

an extensive research: Septima Vector is currently writing a book, and she needs what any researcher would call a golden commodity - information. She’s willing to meet up with some unconventional people to get it! Please contact Septima’s player if you want to come up with a plot using this information.

we were on a break: Lily and James Potter have been apart since the tragic night of October 1981. However, many people have seen them being more than friendly towards each other in the middle of the Ministry Atrium. Are they back together? Are they not? They were in public, so ask them yourselves!

look what the cat dragged in: After many months of not showing his face, Peter Pettigrew has finally decided to go out for a change. He’s been seen in Diagon Alley, applying for random jobs. Maybe your character was there, maybe your character works at some of the shops he stopped by. Make sure to contact Peter’s player if you want to plot something using this information.

thicker than water: Narcissa and Bellatrix, Bellatrix and Narcissa. The sisters have always been inseparable, especially after Andromeda left the family. The Blacks are known to be extremely reserved, however, they have been seen fighting in public. Yes, scandal! In the middle of Ministry premises too! Will your character take advantage of this slip up? It’s up to you to decide!

September 29-30, 2017

At St. Mungo’s, Head Healer Abbott has notoriously campaigned for muggleborn rights. Because of this, many muggleborns have entered the healing program and have even tried to combine muggle healing methods with magical. This has not gone unnoticed by Voldemort and his Death Eaters, who find such filth absolute nonsense. The very idea that muggleborns could use muggle methods to heal them is something they cannot abide.

Riding the high from their attack on the French Minister for Magic, the Death Eaters plan a coordinated attack on St. Mungo’s on September 29, with the intent being to kidnap Head Healer Abbott and later frame the Order of the Phoenix with his death. They plan to do this by taking hostages in the atrium in order to create a smokescreen for the actual kidnapping. Then, they will allow the hostages to go one by one until the Ministry is left wondering about their own intentions.

Unfortunately for the Death Eaters, especially the drunken ones discussing things in the corner of The Hog’s Head, plans are overheard by Peter Pettigrew in his animagus form. After relaying the news to Albus Dumbledore, the Order of the Phoenix plans to be at St. Mungo’s on that day to combat the attack itself and provide extra security for Healer Abbott.

Alastor Moody attempts to beef up auror security at the hospital that day but is denied by the Minister for Magic, as the annual Ministry Fall Festival is the next day – security is needed more for that than at St. Mungo’s.

Ministry employees who are also Order members are unable to take part in the mission; to do so would be to put the Ministry on alert, especially when the Ministry has an important event coming up. They are ordered by Albus Dumbledore to continue their days as usual.

Voldemort, however, has no such compunction and his Death Eaters are ordered to be in whatever places they’ve been directed, with masked Death Eaters taking hostages and others patrolling hallways to ensure no one else escapes. Some are able to hide in exam rooms and post about their experiences on social media, while others remain in the St. Mungo’s atrium, worried about what will happen to them.

In the end, though, the Order of the Phoenix is able to thwart the Death Eaters and Healer Abbott is removed from his office by Order operatives early in the day. The Death Eaters, with the exception of ROBARD SELWYN - who is taken into auror custody - immediately escape after it becomes clear that the Head Healer is no longer in the hospital.

The Daily Prophet puts out a special evening edition to laud the vigilante group able to save those in St. Mungo’s. The Ministry is taken to task for its ineptness; someone has also leaked that Head Auror Moody asked for more security at St. Mungo’s and was denied. It is a blow to the Ministry of Magic.

The Ministry initially chooses not to cancel the Fall Festival, citing that it is important for community morale and unwilling to claim that it acted incorrectly. Many employees work through the night to handle damage control as well as the festival events itself.

The next morning, however, ROBARD SELWYN is found dead in his cell, having taken a poison pill hidden in his shoe. This information quickly leaks on social media, with several calling for the Minister for Magic’s resignation. Because of this, the fall festival is eventually canceled and by 10 a.m., the Ministry Task Force is given new instructions [more to come on this] and some Ministry employees are allowed to return home.

Logistics

The Death Eaters are still wearing masks and cloaks; though Order Members will be engaging them, the only ones who will be unmasked are NPCs.

Ministry employees who are Order members work as usual. If they do not report to work that day and are found at St. Mungo’s, they will end up losing their jobs, if not worse. Ministry employees who are Death Eaters took the day off weeks in advance for various reasons or have called in sick in order to avoid detection.

Order Members will be at St. Mungo’s for specific reasons. They will not be able to just loiter around in the atrium. Some Order members may take this further than others [e.g., purposefully injuring themselves, etc.]. The Order is not to look like an organized force and members who act must appear to only be doing so to defend themselves.

Please do not RP past September 30 until the next calendar is posted. If you have any questions about what is allowed/what your character knows, please feel free to send us a message. You are also free to have threads with other people - just make sure that the continuity stays the same, please!

What Happened: September 29

GIDEON PREWETT takes down ROBARD SELWYN [NPC] in the St. Mungo’s atrium. Once he has made sure Selwyn cannot get away, he patrols the corridor and findsREMUS LUPIN unconscious.

After originally being apprehended by Remus Lupin, AMYCUS CARROW is eventually rescued by ANTONIN DOLOHOV, who called in sick for work that morning.

EVAN ROSIER and LUCIUS MALFOY are tasked with taking the hostages and keeping them in the Ministry atrium. Their methods are vastly different and the two end up in an argument by the time the last hostage leaves.

GWENOG JONES is at St. Mungo’s after a short fall on the quidditch pitch. When the Death Eaters begin taking hostages, she is sitting next to LILY EVANS. The two attempt to find a way to sneak out of the atrium.

SABINE ROWLE is nervous, as this is her first official mission as a Death Eater, though her main task is to simply shadow others and provide a show of force. She is waylaid on her way to St. Mungo’s early in the morning by her sister, SIMONE ROWLE, who has her own suspicions of Sabine’s allegiances.

After intentionally slicing open his hand making breakfast, EDGAR BONES has just had his injury bandaged when the Death Eaters approach. Sitting in a room that’s relatively safe, he pulls NARCISSA BLACK, heading for lunch with her sister, in with him so that she remains safe.

ANDROMEDA BLACK is annoyed when her cousin, SIRIUS BLACK, enters with a sprained wrist and he will not tell her how he was injured. She lectures him on being reckless as the Death Eaters begin taking hostages, unaware that Sirius injured himself for a reason to be at St. Mungo’s.

ALECTO CARROW and THORFINN ROWLE must patrol around St. Mungo’s to ensure that the operation is progressing as planned and no one escapes. When Alecto notices that some of the “patients” seem a bit too comfortable, Thorfinn dismisses her worries.

GRETA CATCHLOVE is at St. Mungo’s to pick up a prescription when she is caught with the other hostages in the atrium. She sits next to EVELYN DOLOHOV, who, while an Order member in disguise, is pretending to be waiting for her mother.

REGULUS BLACK is running late to St. Mungo’s, this task his first as a Death Eater initiate. Eager to complete this task and become marked, he is unhappy to see ALINA MALFOY on the street. Unaware of what’s happening, Alina initiates a conversation Regulus tries - to little avail - to get out of.

RODOLPHUS LESTRANGE and BELLATRIX BLACK are in charge of planning the attack at St. Mungo’s and had previously spent several nights ensuring that they got everything done correctly. In the wake of its failure, the two blame the other and the argument quickly grows volatile.

What Happened: September 30

HELENA PARKINSON, having been tasked with infiltrating the Order two months prior, is given a dressing down by the Minister herself for focusing more on her personal life than her professional one. She is told to take a week off from work at the Ministry to focus on finding a way into the group of vigilantes. On her way out of the Ministry, she runs intoFRANK LONGBOTTOM, who has much more knowledge of the previous day’s events than she realizes. Exhausted from also working that night, Frank has to think on his feet to avoid giving anything away.

NATALYA KARKAROFF is a bit unsure of what exactly happened at St. Mungo’s, as she was nowhere near during the attack. When she goes to Diagon Alley early in the morning to retrieve a potion from the apothecary, she runs into SEVERUS SNAPE, who is trying to hide the fact that he was injured by a stray confringo.

In early hours of Saturday morning, OTTO BAGMAN begins doing his best to hack into the vigilante social media accounts after instructions from the top. He is just about there when ALASTOR MOODY knocks on his door, intentionally distracting him from the task at hand.

When PENELOPE GREENGRASS was told that she would need to work through the night to help her boss mitigate this disaster, she asked ALESSANDRA ROWLE to pick up her puppy. The next morning, around dawn, Allie brings Penny breakfast at the Ministry, curious about the real story behind the events.

MARY MACDONALD wonders if there are those in the Ministry who disagree with its aims since they were blindsided by the Order claiming responsibility for thwarting the DE attack. After running into ALICE FORTESCUE in the Ministry hallway early in the morning, she discusses her concerns with the other woman, convinced that someone on the Ministry Task Force is disloyal.

This event will run from Friday 1 September until 11.59pm EDT on Thursday 7 September. While threads can continue after this time, no new starters may be posted. You may also create other plots & threads arising from this event, keeping in mind the information set out in this post.

Knockturn Alley was more of a necessity in Avery’s life rather than somewhere he would willingly spend his time. Normally, he would have sent his house elf, but the item he was carrying had more than monetary value, leaving him to have to carry out the task himself. Exiting the shop, he dodged his way back into the street, making his way back up to Diagon Alley, where the rest of his errands would be taken care of. Hearing his name called behind him, his head swivelled to find the source. As his eyes landed on the figure in question, a smirk slid across his lips. “The ever-so dashing Rodolphus Lestrange! To what do I owe the pleasure?”

EVENT 04 - THE PARTY OF TRUTH:

Lorcan d’Eath has always been known to throw legendary parties and with his birthday around the corner Lorcan and Evan Rosier have planned something big. They have called in resident potions master Severus Snape and requested that he brew them some truth serum, a potion that they have thrown into the punch at the party. Everyone is invited to the event and it’s going to be big. No secrets will be kept and no lies can be told. What will be revealed on this night?

This event will take place from posting time on 6/8 until 12am on 6/15 (this means no new starters for this event after Thursday, June the 14th) , please tag all starters and interactions with litdevent04. We encourage everyone to participate in this event. Ways to do that include: gif chats, paras and having people come into your characters asks during the party, this meaning all questions asked must be answered honestly. Affiliations are one of the only things to not be discussed. Under the cut are all the characters who know of the truth serum in the punch.

EVENT: –UNTIL THE OTHER SHOE DROPS

The first sign that something is wrong is when the music stops suddenly. There’s a crackling over the loudspeakers, and silence. Aurors and guards prepare for a fight; something is definitely wrong.

The intro for the WWN Special Emergency Broadcast plays over the loudspeakers.

Something happened. Something bad must have happened. No one moves. Everything is completely still as they wait to hear what’s happened.

“Good evening, listeners.”

Tobias Greenhall’s voice booms from the loudspeakers.

“This is Tobias Greenhall, coming to you live from the WWN Headquarters in Hogsmeade.”

“Something’s not right,” someone whispers.

“He doesn’t sound right.”

“He sounds scared.”

“Many of you who listen to my program know that I have been in complete support of the recent law passed, the Wizard Protection Act. I have spoken out many times on my show about the current war happening, and I… I have always done my best to tell the truth. Or what I believed to be the truth. B-But I cannot continue something which… which is so clearly… I can’t do this. I-I can’t do this, please–”

“AVADA KEDAVRA!”

A scream goes up, not just in the party but over the radio. There is a crash from over the speakers, and the sound of several people trying to stifle their tears as there is a shuffling. Aurors are hurrying towards the doors to the club.

Someone needs to help.

Someone needs to stop this.

“Read it.”

There’s muffled crying over the loudspeakers, and a man’s voice. A girl starts crying, and then she speaks.

“If the Ministry w-w-wants to target people w-who are making this world worse, if they want to protect their people, then it should not— s-should not be inward that they turn their gazes. It should be outward, t-towards those who have tainted the pureblood lines w-with their muggle blood.”

There is a pause, and everyone waits with their breaths held for the sound of the killing curse before a boy starts to read.

“They should be looking at the vigilantes taking the law into their own hands, who run around without masks like it is their right a-and their responsibility to decide which of us are fit to be a part of the wizarding community.”

Another girl begins to read.

“We are your guardian angels, not your enemies. We are here to bring you justice, we are here to bring you purity. W-W-We are here to put an end to those who threaten the end of the wizarding society. If you are p-pure, you do not need to fear us.”

“You are the last hope for our line, for everything t-that should be most precious to our world.”

“We are not your enemies.”

“We are the only thing that can save you.”

“Years ago, the muggles burned our magical brothers and sisters for their gifts.”

“Let us see how they face the fires--”

There is an explosion, and shouting over the loudspeakers. The Aurors have made it there, and chaos has erupted. Everyone listens, terrified of what they could hear. Terrified that the Aurors won’t be able to save everyone.

The connection goes quiet, and the club is in complete silence.

It doesn’t feel right to call it peace.

People are shaken, spirits shattered. It is impossible to feel any semblance of calm in the club any longer. The party ends, and the doors are tossed wide. People flood out onto the street, search the crowds for loved ones. The horror is over now. It’s time to go home and try and recover some small piece of the calm that lasted during the celebrations.

The peace does not last long when people start to see the smoke in the sky rising all around the city. The radio station was only a distraction, something to pull the main focus away from the real action. All over London, the houses of many muggleborns are set ablaze; houses of pro-blood equality halfbloods and blood traitors have their windows smashed in. The successful arrest of the Death Eaters at the radio station seems a small victory in the wake of the chaos which follows after it. The fires are put out, the windows and buildings are cleaned up, and repairs begin.

But nothing can take away the feeling that things are very close to a turning point.

And it is not one that everyone will make it out alive from.

Under the cut you will find descriptions of where each character is and what they are doing during the incident. While no new threads may take place during the party, you may write drabbles that do, and all starters take place after the party. There is also a list of what damage was done to residences; again, if this is incorrect at all or if you have any questions, send us a message!

Please include “Until the Other Shoe Drops” in the title of all starters related to the plot drop, and tag things related to this plot drop with the tag “ofc: until the other shoe drops” so that others can find them.

---------- DURING THE INCIDENT . . .

TILDEN TOOTS, BENJY FENWICK

Things at the radio station go horribly wrong when Death Eaters barge in and commandeer the place. Everyone is forced to sit against the wall except for Tobias Greenhall, who is forced to read out a message written by the Death Eaters. After he is killed for disobeying, the rest of the hosts from the Quidditch World Cup Sendoff broadcast finish reading the message before the Ministry gets there. In the ensuing conflict, BENJY and TILDEN both attempt to stay out of the way and help the other employees of the station get to safety. They are the last two of the employees to get out of the room, and both are injured in the fight before the Death Eaters are subdued. They are both brought to St. Mungo’s Hospital to be treated.

ODELLA BLACKBURN, FRANK LONGBOTTOM, ALICE LONGBOTTOM, JOHN DAWLISH, LILY EVANS, JAMES POTTER

The hitwizards are the first to move when the radio comes on, and it is agreed quickly that they are the ones who will go while the Aurors remain behind to keep order at the club. ODELLA and several other hitwizards on duty at the party hurry towards the door to the club, when Tobias Greenhall is killed over the radio. The voice that begins to read next is Tilden Toots’. FRANK and ALICE both quickly join the hitwizards, and Head Auror Alastor Moody sends JOHN along with them. LILY and JAMES, overhearing Alastor’s commands, are determined to help, and quietly tag along. The group apparate to Hogsmeade, where they enter the radio station. A fight ensues, and there is a struggle before the Death Eaters attempt to escape. JAMES and LILY, who split off to cover back exits from the building, block the Death Eaters when they try to flee, and duel them until FRANK and ALICE catch up. The four of them subdue the Death Eaters and detain them. There are no escapees, and apart from Tobias Greenhall, there are no deaths, though several members of the radio station staff were severely injured in the fight. ODELLA, JOHN, and ALICE both go to St. Mungo’s with the station employees to be treated for minor injuries, while FRANK and JOHN bring the Death Eaters to a detainment facility with the assistance of the other aurors and hitwizards. JAMES and LILY hurry to St. Mungo’s to try and find their friends.

ALASTOR MOODY, MARLENE MCKINNON, ADOLPHIS YAXLEY, GIDEON PREWETT, EDGAR BONES, STEFAN AMBROSE, MAFALDA HOPKIRK, VERA PORSKOFF, HESTIA JONES, BERTHA JORKINS, APOLLINE BONACIEUX, GWENOG JONES, GALVIN GUDGEON, BILIUS WEASLEY, DORCAS MEADOWES, LORCAN D’EATH, STUBBY BOARDMAN

Keeping the crowd from turning into a mob or a target is the most immediate thing to focus on, and those on security detail are quick to move to action. ALASTOR calls up the nearest Order members he can find– GIDEON, EDGAR, DORCAS, and MARLENE– and quickly tells them to cover all exits and make sure that no one leaves, and that no one is getting in either. They leave to do a quick sweep of the building, but find nothing, and return to help keep the crowds as calm as they can. The party falls into panic when the radio goes dead; ALASTOR climbs up onto the stage and demands that everyone stay calm. ADOLPHIS, to give the appearance of being helpful, joins him on stage and assures everyone that it will be over soon, and they will all be able to go home. Sensing a call to help, GWENOG, GALVIN, BILIUS, and STEFAN all hasten to help keep the panicked crowds calm, while VERA, MAFALDA, and APOLLINE help with foreign dignitaries and Ministry officials. STUBBY and LORCAN are both hurried to a place of safety along with Celestina Warbeck and the other performers until the trouble is done.

FABIAN PREWETT, CLAUDIA OLLIVANDER, VIOLA ROWLE, CHARITY BURBAGE, REMUS LUPIN, SIRIUS BLACK, AMELIA BONES, MAGDA ILIESCU, ANDROMEDA TONKS, TED TONKS, MARGOT ABBOTT, CARADOC DEARBORN, RUDRA DATTA, DIRK CRESSWELL

The party floods out onto the street quickly, and when people see the smoke rising up all around London, few are quick to jump to action. FABIAN, CLAUDIA, and CARADOC head in one direction and begin putting out fires, pulling those unlucky souls who were still in their houses when the Death Eaters set fire to the buildings safe of the chaos and treating them as best they can until on-duty mediwizards arrive. CHARITY, VIOLA, DIRK, and RUDRA form up another group and hurry off in the opposite direction to do the same. REMUS, SIRIUS, and MAGDA form up another group to help, as do AMELIA, ANDROMEDA, and TED. MARGOT hurries to help those who are injured, and accompanies them to St. Mungo’s. CLAUDIA, CHARITY, and CARADOC all receive minor injuries during the rescue, and are brought to St. Mungo’s to receive treatment.

EVAN ROSIER, CASSANDRA BLACK, WALDEN MACNAIR, AMYCUS CARROW, ALECTO CARROW, BELLATRIX LESTRANGE, DARIUS MULCIBER, ANEIRIN NOTT, ANTONIN DOLOHOV, ATTICUS ROWLE, RODOLPHUS LESTRANGE, RABASTAN LESTRANGE

The signal is given only moments before the radio broadcast begins, and those chosen few selected by Voldemort himself quickly and discreetly sneak out of the party. Donning their masks and cloaks, they split into groups and begin setting houses ablaze and wreaking havoc– EVAN, ANEIRIN, and ANTONIN form up one group, and are responsible for attacking houses belonging to halfbloods, breaking windows and marking the doors to their homes with “DIRTY BLOOD” written in blood. WALDEN, AMYCUS, and ALECTO are tasked with doing the same, to see if they can keep themselves under control and do as they are told, which begrudgingly they do. BELLATRIX, RABASTAN, and RODOLPHUS are tasked with setting muggleborn houses ablaze, and they head in one direction while CASSANDRA, DARIUS, and ATTICUS head in another. The four groups manage to reach nearly every house they were told to, though a few are missed as they are forced to return to the party to ensure that no one noted their absences. Discarding their masks and robes quickly, all of them return to the party and blend once more into the crowd gathered outside of the club.

SEREFINA BURKE, BARTY CROUCH JR., SEVERUS SNAPE, REGULUS BLACK, VINCENT CRABBE, BRONTE MACNAIR, LUCIUS MALFOY, NARCISSA MALFOY

Those few left behind have a much simpler task than their brothers-in-arms, and when the chaos breaks out, they hurry through the crowds, covering for those who are off doing the Dark Lord’s bidding. Aurors trying to get a count of every person who hasn’t fled the party are confused and disoriented by the conflicting reports; REGULUS claims that he was standing with Cassandra Black until the crowds began to hurry towards the doors, and he lost track of her, BARTY and SEVERUS claim to have only just seen Evan Rosier and Walden MacNair a moment ago, VINCENT says he and Antonin Dolohov were together by the bar, BRONTE insists that she had been dancing with Aneirin Nott when the radio broadcast had begun. The covers are maintained until the others return, and once they are all integrated into the crowd once again, LUCIUS leads them in a peaceful demonstration of the good will of the purists, and they and the others remain patiently behind until the crowd has dispersed so that the Aurors know that they were not involved at all.

ANNABELLE BONES, AMOS DIGGORY, MOLLY WEASLEY, DAVEY GUDGEON, CORNELIUS FLINT, GARRICK OLLIVANDER, LAVINIA ROWLE

Family is the first thing on the minds of many, especially those with young ones at home. ANNABELLE and MOLLY are two of the first people out the doors, and both apparate home to check on their families. AMOS, DAVEY, and CORNELIUS all hastily check on loved ones at the party before they too apparate home. GARRICK and LAVINIA head to Diagon Alley to ensure that Ollivander’s and the family house are both safe before they return to look for their friends. ANNABELLE and DAVEY both go to St. Mungo’s to be treated for minor injuries received trying to fix the damage done to their homes.

ISABELLE DRYSDALE, DORIS PURKISS, GLADYS GUDGEON, MAXIN MCKINNON, MIROSLAV ORLOV, OSIP ORLOV, MARY MACDONALD, ALAIN DELACOUR, ARIANNE DELACOUR, JONATHAN BONES, PANDORA ALDRIDGE, LIHAU PARKINSON, VIVIENNE TODD, LUCRETIA GREENGRASS, DAISY HOOKUM, ADAMMA ZABINI

The crowd is quick to turn into a mob outside, and many are caught up in the frenzy of the group. It is nearly impossible to wrestle one’s way out, and those who try and move against the flow are in danger of being trampled. People are desperate to find their friends and loved ones; ISABELLE and VIVIENNE find each other and then search the crowd until OSIP finds them with MIROSLAV, who is disoriented due to a head injury sustained when he was knocked into the stage by a group of panicked partygoers after the broadcast. The four of them attempt to work their way out of the crowd, and eventually manage it. JONATHAN finds MARY and DORIS, and the three of them wait next to the stage so that they aren’t trampled until the crowds have dispersed outside before they hurry to St. Mungo’s. GLADYS finds LUCRETIA cowering in a corner, and the two of them try and make their way through the crowd safely. They run into ADAMMA and LIHAU, and the four of them make it outside. PANDORA, DAISY, and MAXIN are jostled around by the crowds as they all try to make it outside, and the three of them sustain minor injuries being knocked into things on their way out. ALAIN and ARIANNE attempt to search for their friends, and sneak backstage to try and find Lorcan D’Eath. They eventually head outside to search for others in the dispersed crowds.

These are some of the first houses reached by people trying to put out the fires, and the damage to them is minimal. There is some minor fire damage, and the windows in each residence have been smashed, but there is no severe damage.

DORIS PURKISS & GLADYS GUDGEON, STEFAN AMBROSE, TED TONKS & ANDROMEDA TONKS, LILY EVANS & JAMES POTTER

These houses are not as fortunate, and the damage to them is more severe because of the fires. Moderate fire damage is done, and some property cannot be salvaged from the flames, but once the fires are put out, most of the damage can be undone. Alternative accommodations may need to be found for these individuals until the damage is repaired.

These are the houses that were not reached as quickly, and the fires set had plenty of time to cause severe damage. Many personal items are lost in the fire, and even when the fires are finally put out, the damage remains severe. Individuals living in these residences will need to find alternative accommodations while the damage is repaired.

LORCAN D’EATH, REMUS LUPIN & SIRIUS BLACK, MAGDA ILIESCU, ALAIN DELACOUR & ARIANNE DELACOUR, PANDORA ALDRIDGE, APOLLINE BONACIEUX, MAFALDA HOPKIRK, AMELIA BONES, JONATHAN BONES

Each of these residences are marked with the words “DIRTY BLOOD” written on the door in blood. Halfbloods are part of the problem, after all, they are a symbol of pure blood mixing with muggle blood, living reminders of the decay of the pureblood lines. No other damage is done on these homes, however, though residents discover that the words on their doors cannot be removed.

HESTIA JONES, ISABELLE DRYSDALE, VIVIENNE TODD & GWENOG JONES, OSIP ORLOV & MIROSLAV ORLOV, CHARITY BURBAGE

These residences all belong to public blood traitors, but were left untouched. This attack wasn’t focused on them, after all, and if they join the right side, then there’s no need for violence towards them.

It makes for a convenient excuse for the purists and the Death Eaters that purebloods were not targets of this attack, and so it makes sense that none of their homes were damaged in the attacks. These residences were left untouched.
