My thoughts on Zack Snyder's Justice League because I watched it
The opening sequence, bc even tho the repeated scream audio was stuipid this opening was better
The new meeting between batman and Aquaman - that drawing on the wall in the og was unnecessary
Diana's extra badassery
The design of Stephen Wolf, because now he actually looks scaryish
The Queens emotions about losing her sisters of Themyscira - QUEENS DON'T JUST SEND THEIR PEOPLE INTO BATTLE EMOTIONLESSLY THESE SCENES WERE NEEDED - FUCK
THE BIGGER WITH IN THEMYSCIRA WHY THE FUCK DID THEY CUT THAT OUT?! - oh right, its because the previous director is sexist as fuck,
Stephen Wolf's Daddy Issues because that's fucking hilarious
Bruce explaining his want to find everyone bc of his promise
The close up on the fly things because that actually made it scary
THE FUCKING LIGHTING CEREMONY IN THEMESCERIA HOLY MOTHER FUCKING SHIT
Diana's extra badassery after getting the Arrow because WHY THE FUCK WAS THAT CUT?! This explains SO MUCH about how Diana knows SO MUCH about a time she wasn't alive in and I have NO FUCKING CLUE why it was cut!?
Arthur Curry is a Stripper - Confirmed!
Arthur and his trainer talking, but idfk why they kept the bubble thing Although I do like that they clarify that it's not just Mera who can do that bubble thingy
The scene between Stephen Wolf and the stone-wall dude person was cool and it explained why Stephen Wolf was so desperate
Zeus, Ares, and Artemis prepped for battle along with Poseidon in the flashback was FUCKING AWESOME!!! Diana's Aunt as well, the shows of the Green Lanterns, and the ring returning to the planet [Although they should've named Artemis, bc she can easily be mistaken for Athena - Also; Artemis' roman equivalent in the goddess Diana ]
Darkseid being in the flashback, which explains a lot
The Gods vs Darkseid was FUCKING AWESOME
Barry's awkward rambling after running into Iris
ALSO IRIS FUCKING WEST!!!
The Big Belly Burger Reference, nicely done
My dad says Iris' car is beautiful
BARRY SAVED IRIS BITCHES
The slow-mo crash gave me anxiety
My dad says, "I know you got all the time in the world but c'mon this is ridiculous" about that scene then "That beautiful car..."
THE SCENE WITH STEPHEN WOLF AND THE ALTLANTIAN MAKES EVERYTHING MAKE SO MUCH MORE SENSE BECAUSE HOW THE FUCK DID STEPHEN WOLF KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE MOTHER BOX IN ATLANTIS
Do. Not. Make. Diana. And. Bruce. Romantic. Don't. Fucking. Do. It.
The use of slow-mo is kind of redundant
Victor being fucking AMAZING even tho he's getting in trouble at school
Victor and Mama's discussion gives some life to the 2-Dlike Cyborg from the og movie, WHY THE FUCK WAS IT CUT?!
Victor's inner-world where he's still fully human
Barry being sarcastic as fuck towards his father lmfao
"Very attractive Jewish boy"
The reference to Grodd YAAAAAAAS
I still hate that Barry's lightning is blue and not red
The explanation of the Speedforce and Snacks
"What are your super powers again?" "I'm Rich" Still one of the best lines
I love Diana's shirt in the scene with Alfred
"Looks like you have a date, Ms. Prince" lmfao - Unless his name is Steve, I doubt it
I feel like Victor and Diana would be a good brother/sister duo, ngl
Burying the fucking box at your mothers grave was the stupidest shit I have ever fucking seen Victor.
COMMISIONER GORDON HELL YES
Barry's utter fail at being normal around Diana
The underwater click-like dolphin speak was cool, but still kinda dumb knowing that later Aquaman speaks underwater just fine - ngl
Nice Liquidkinetics, Mera. Amber you're still a cunt.
Also, Mera says her parents died - Wasn't her father alive in Aquaman??
Victor seeing the bat-signal explains how he knew how to find them, honest
The badass entry of Bruce, Diana, and Barry makes me laugh
Barry is far too close to Bruce
Victor scared Barry LMFAOOOO
If Victor's father is the head of STAR Labs where the fuck is Harrison Wells?????
THEY LEFT BARRY BEHIND, ASSHOLES
Diana's annoyance at Barry running ahead is such a Mom thing
Stephen using the bug thing makes SO MUCH MORE SENSE
Diana trying to make a plan and it getting ruined fits with the exasperated Mom theme she's got going on.
THE SONG HEN DIANA GOES AGAINST STEPHEN WOLF, THE FUCKING VOCALS ALONG MAKE ME HYPE AS SHIIIIIIIIT
"I Belong To No One" I FUCKING LOVE IT
HEEEEEEEEELL of a push Barry lmfaooo
"Thank you Alfred" "Don't mention it" Mans is bored of your shit
"Sword Lady" LMFAOOOOOOO
Diana's x-move thing against Stephen Wolf YAAAAAAAAS BITCH
Diana saving Barry's ass - Accurate!
Victor taking over the Crawler makes more sense this way, honest
OKAY YOU AN ACTUALLY SEE AQUAMAN IN THE WATER AND IT MAKES IT MAKE SO MUCH MORE SENSE
That jump onto the crawler was smooth as fuck Diana!
Stephen Wolf getting visions from the boxes also explains a lot about some shit
"I know the requirements, I wrote them" Suuuuuuubtle lmfaoo
Victor brining the box them also fits better
Why is this Stone looking mother fucker speaking Latin?
Hello Darkseid, you look particularly dramatic this evening
Victor's explaining how he knows about the box makes a lot of sense, why was this cut again??
Actually explaining the fucking Mother Box was Helpful
Mrs. Kent and Lois having a heart to heart holy shiiiit
Martha talking about how Clark's death was drowned out by Superman's - wooow
WHAT THE FUCK IS WITH MARTHA'S EYES IS THAT J'ONN J'ONZZ?! THATS THE MARTIAN MANHUNTER HOLY FUCK IT'S J'ONN J'ONZZ
Ironic that Ezra-Flash's hero is Superman while Grant Gustin's hero is superman lmfao
Diana and Arthur chatting was cute, the quote was awesome and the Atlantians totally copped that quote from the Amazonians
Alfred being a sarcastic fuck is my favorite
Alfred being the voice of reason, as always
Arthur helping Barry pick a hat is AMAZING
Diana telling the boys to change, mom or big sister?? lmfaoo
Barry's social awkwardness gives me second hand embarrassment
This little infiltration arc makes SO MUCH more fucking sense
Every one being suited up and triggering the alarm is amazing
Mr. Stone fucking trusting his son is my faaaaaavorite
THE SUITS ACTIVATED AND CAME OUT WHEN CLARK WAS MOVED PAST THEM DUDE WTF
IS LOIS PREGNANT?!?!?!
Barry looks like he's about to throw up
BARRY HAS ALREADY TIME TRAVELLED THAT LINE SHOULDVE BEEN KEPT IN
Arthur being antsy about not doing the resurrection makes so much sense
VICTOR SEEING A POSSIBLE FUTURE IS THE BEST SHIT
I love vision-Diana's Norse burial
EVIL VISION-SUPERMAN DUDE CMON
THE MISUNDERSTANDING MAKES THIS WORSE AND BETTER AT THE SAME TIME
HE REVERSED TIME WHEN HE RESURRECTED SUPERMAN WHAAAAAAAAT
The Military arriving was a sensible addition
The fancy ass dramatic ass arrival of Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Flash, and Cyborg when Superman gets to the monument is hilarious
Victor loosing control is the woooooorst
The Lasso of Truth almost got through to him but he's a stubborn fuck
Superman functioning in Flashtime is something I will never understand
Yeah lets shoot at the guy whose indestructible, right
"you should probably move" LMFAOOOO
Batman v. Superman part 2 insert eye roll here
headbutts like children - and that's cheating on the playground Clark.
Heat vision makes so much more sense than "do you bleed?"
Lois coming in cluuuuutch
I like Lois' appearance better than Alfred bringing her, it fits Lois better
Arthur and Barry now have rivalry lmfaooo
Mr. Stone being obsessed with the mother box is annoying as fuck
Mr. Stone is an idiot and he should've fucking left the box alone
That was a horrible death why was that necessary?!
Arthur being a pessimist in this movie is honestly hilarious, tho why is he anti-love??
Barry being surprised at Batman's richness is never not funny
"I'll take that as a yes" okay Clark, don't show off
IS LOIS PREGNANT OR NOT?!
"Its really me Ma" Best scene of the whole fucking movie
Barry and Arthur heart-to -heart "I thought you didn't car" "I never said that" BUILD THIS FRIENDSHIP
BRUCE TELLS DIANA OF THE VISION
Bruce talking about faith never bodes well
THE QUEEN LOOKS BEAUTIFUL
"uh with the power of love" "Barry" LMFAOOOOOO
THE KRYPTONIAN SUITS LOOK AMAZING
Since when does Superman have Geokinesis??
I LOVE HOW BOTH OF HIS FATHERS ARE TALKING TO HIM I FUCKING LOVE IT
THE SUIT UP SCENE ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME IT LOOKS AWESOME
"just have to knock a little louder" Well, that's one way to knock Bruce
Nice crash boy
Straight up sounded like "Loud and queer" lmfaoooo
Diana leading the teeeeeeeaaaam Hell Yes!
I do miss the "I think we're all gonna die" lasso-Arthur scene tho. it was stupid - but funny.
DIANA COMING IN FOR THAT SLICE AND DICE BAYBEEEEY
THE TEAM SHOOOOT YES totally taken from Marvel but fuck did it look good
"you really are out of your mind" says the idiot who talks to fish
"not done yet" vs "your welcome" I like the second one better
Glorious hair Arthur lmfaoo
Fucking chair eject
NICE SHISH-KA-BOB ARTHUR FUCK
Alfred doesn't even fucking blink when Clark arrives
ARTHURS TRIDENT DOES THE WAVY THING ON LAND TOO BROOOO
Oh yeah, step back for the demi-god princess
DONT PISS OFF DIANA AND DO NOT USE HER FAMILY TO FUCK WITH HER IT NEVER ENDS WELL
The familiar flash buildup power ring will never not make me happy
Daaaaaayum Diana!!
Nice catch Arthur
Diana knows her mother and sisters are alive bc they sent the arrow to her, so why is he even trying it??
NICE SAVE SUPERMAN!!
"Not impressed" Smooooooth
THAT FINAL BATTLE IS FUCKING AWESOME
TIME TRAVEL
BADASS DIANA WITH THAT DEPCAPITATION
You sent Today at 5:44 PM
Them all standing there was straight up "Fuck with us, I dare you"
The epilogue was great but that dream was confusing, are we doing Alt-universe shit??

Name: Ezralia Vali, but all my friends call me Elv
Writing Blog URL(s): @ezralia-writes (@haylo4ever was my OG writing account 5 years ago)
Age: 19
Nationality: Asian American
Languages: English and un poco Espanol
Star Sign: Aries
MBTI: INFJ
Favorite color: As of now, red
Favorite food: Pasta
Favorite movie: The Golden Compass, but Howl’s Moving Castle and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time are close choices too
Favorite ice cream flavor: Vanilla with chocolate syrup or caramel
Favorite animal: Narwhals
Go-to karaoke song: Uh, Who Do You Love (Monsta X)
Dream job (whether you have a job or not): TBH, my dream job is being a manager/CEO of a tech job (realistically) or a backup dancer for kpop groups (unrealistically)
Coffee or tea? What are you ordering? Neither, hot coco (coffee in the future to keep me sane)
If you could have one superpower, what would you choose? Mind-read
If you could visit a historical era, which would you choose? Sengoku Japanese period or in England when kings and queens were bloody powerful
If you could restart your life, knowing what you do now, would you? Yes
Would you rather fight 100 chicken-sized horses or one horse-sized chicken? 100 chicken-sized horses
If you were a trope in a teen high school movie, what would you have been? Please, I wanna be in the nerdy girl and jock romance but honestly, I’m probably just the side, hermit character.
Do you believe in aliens/supernatural creatures? Yes but I know they don’t exist
Fun fact about yourself that not everyone would know? Uh, I talk a lot about myself but I have trypophobia - there should not be holes in things that are supposed to be whole.
What fandom(s) do you write for? As of now, I write for BTS, GOT7, NCT, Monsta X, and Stray Kids
When did you post your first piece? May 26, 2020 (Dec 7, 2014 was my OG post on ff.net haha)
Do you write fluff/angst/crack/general/smut, combo, etc? Why? I write fluff, angst (lots), and sometimes crack. While I can rec some awesome smuts, I don’t feel comfortable writing explicit smut as of yet, although I will elude to some smexy time. I do have a WIP that I will one day write that will definitely include smut because it’s part of the story.
Do you write OCs, X Readers, Ships...etc? I have some OG OCs and my starter fics on Tumblr were third-person female reader. However, recent works include x you (reader) and I find that really fun and easier to write! I don’t really write any ships for Kpop.
Why did you decide to write for Tumblr? Having read so many awesome works on Tumblr made me want to write and hopefully have other readers experience the same feelings I do when I read that great piece. However, my original goal was just to write for Monsta X since there aren’t a whole lot of fics for them but also because I have too many ideas running in my mind. Lastly, I just write for myself.
What inspires you to write? The groups I write for, other things I read (like mangas and/or shows), and especially songs!
What genres/AUs do you enjoy writing the most? I write best fluff for established relationships because otherwise it’s all just angst, which is a lot of fun to write while keeping it not too toxic unless stated otherwise for plot. I also love silly fics for giggles. As for Au’s I enjoy regular day to day life with a spin or fantasy based Au’s.
What do you hope your readers take away from your work? I hope they just feel a strong emotion - depending on the genre. I hope that they get to the end and find all the nuances I try to sprinkle throughout the story hinting to clues or plot devices. That’s always what I try to aim for.
What do you do when you hit a rough spot creatively? Cry. Jokes aside, I take a break/breather to refocus and take time for myself. I also read professional works to take my mind off things or get inspired.
What is your favorite work and why? Your most successful? My personal favorite of my published works would be my Han Jisung x reader, Promise. It was my first kpop fic and a gift to my friend. I think it’s a hallmark of my return to writing and I look forward to publishing more of my favorite plots! My most successful is Spiderling, a Jeon Jungkook x reader fic, not surprised at all that my first official BTS fic would be the most popular one of my current works haha.
Who is your favorite person to write about? Honestly, I have so many ideas for Changkyun haha. I feel like he’s totally boyfriend material and can fit different roles from a total fratboy to a soft boyfriend. But I’m trying to expand both my writing and pairings and it’s a fun challenge to write for the different boys.
Do you think there’s a difference between writing fanfiction vs. completely original prose? I actually do! In my honest opinion, fanfiction is work about an already established character/person/universe. It’s easier for me to think up ideas for characters already prepped because I personally get lost in the details already of thinking up terms/universes to place the story in. I have a character that’s already established and people know about without having to elaborate on those finer details.
What do you think makes a good story? Proper formatting goes a long way. While I don’t judge on grammar and spelling mistakes, it is a much smoother read if people follow basic narrative-writing skills. I feel like anyone who can embody their own style and ideas (without being discriminatory or mean), then they’ve really got me hooked.
What is your writing process like? A mess. I know a lot of people outline, and I try that sometimes. But, normally I just get straight into writing what I’ve brainstormed, maybe adding some notes for future events here and there. If I get tied up at a certain part, I make a messy line break and start another scene.
Would you ever repurpose a fic into a completely original story? Yes. Funnily enough though, I repurpose my original storylines for fics, but if I could, I would write an original story.
What tropes do you love, and what tropes can’t you stand? I can’t stand cliches but I WILL cry over them if they’re well-written and/or have a spin on them. So, ultimately I’m down for anything. Enemy to lovers isn’t always my favorite but @gukyi does a great job, since that’s her renowned trope.
How much would you say audience feedback/engagement means to you? A lot! I have a few lovely mootz that always have something nice to say, but I would love more reader interaction! Of course, I’m a newer writer and haven’t blown up so it is to be expected that I’m a little lonely right now. I hope that’s not a long-term thing.
What has been one of the biggest factors of your success (of any size)? Who I write for. I hate to be blunt about it, but certain members and/or groups truly are more popular which is a shame at times. Plus, interacting with more mootz and authors as well as joining discord chats and networks helps by meeting new people who will interact with you and your content.
Do you think fanfic writers get unfairly judged? Yes, at times and with certain topics. We all know people will go on anon and tear anyone down for whatever reason.
Do you think art can be a medium for change? Definitely! Writing for the public,(especially fanfic and reader-based fics) especially in these times, means you have to adapt and adhere to the ever-changing times. We have a role to play in how people perceive things, whether that’s regarding an IRL person or how we view others with representation.
Do you ever feel there are times when you’re writing for others, rather than yourself? Huh, as of now, I feel like I’m writing for myself. Without a lot of interaction, I don’t feel pressure. I do want to write for other groups, but as of now I’m trying to pick up speed with certain groups. I have a lot of WIPs, so we will see where I end up.
Do you ever feel like people have misunderstood you or your writing at times? Not that I know of, haha.
Do your offline friends/loved ones know you write for Tumblr? No, haha.
What is one thing you wish you could tell your followers? I love you!
Do you have any advice for aspiring writers who might be too scared to put themselves out there? Don’t be afraid! It’s scary, but the worst that can happen is not writing!
Are there any times when you regret joining Tumblr? HAahaha, only because the site’s interaction roles have drastically dropped and a lot of the features suck. But the people I’ve met… priceless. I love them all and a lot have impacted my life so positively.
Do you have any mutuals who have been particularly formative/supportive in your Tumblr journey? Yes! All of them!
Pick a quote to end your interview with:
Stan yourself first! <3

So now for the explanation for the best and worst characters in my tier list. I love everyone in 10/10 equally.
(When I reference the 3D era it’s just things I’ve seen because I haven’t played them so if I’m a little off I’m sorry.)
For the best I will be listing their best moments.
BEST:
Tumblr media
Raiden: He’s lost SO much and yet he still keeps putting every part of his being into protecting Earthrealm because he loves it so much. His bonds with the monks and his other friends are so wholesome. Him becoming mortal at the end of mk11 feels natural as he’s passing on to his champion. Richard Epcar does AMAZING as his voice. @twennywan you kind of sold me on sinden.
Best moment: when he tells Cetrion not to underestimate Earthrealms warriors. Just think about that: when talking to someone who doubts his success he doesn’t warn them about Himself but instead his allies.
Tumblr media
Kotal Kahn: the idea of a new Kahn who was more focused on maintaining his own realm rather than conquering is a fascinating idea. His bonds with his allies shown in the mkx komic were great and I wish we saw more. Him giving the throne to Kitana struck me as him realising that he isn’t suited to rule and learning to do better. Phil Lamar is great as always. TASTE THE BLADE OF OSH TEKK!
Best moment: His battle with Shao Kahn and most of all his response to his empirical dreams: “Your conquests served you alone, not Outworlds people!”
Tumblr media
Liu Kang: A humble monk who seeks to do the right thing but also desires a simple life is great! (Even though it was only mentioned in his mk11 tower ending I think) his mk1 “fatality” that tops most “TOP TEN WORST MORTAL KOMBAT FATALITIES! Lists makes sense since he’s a Shaolin monk! Why wouldn’t he seek a peaceful option?
best moment: When he goes to kronikas hourglass, takes down the revenants and politely asking cetrion to stand down. Just... the ENERGY this man has could take down kronika herself. Oh wait he did!
Tumblr media
Sindel: (this is the REAL sindel, not that poser in mk11): A warrior queen who could scream my skin off and is also a Mom who you could see beaming with pride over her daughter’s coronation? Sign me right up! (Why she wasn’t in mk11 I’ll never understand) the tragedy of her story is not to be understated.
Best moment: deception ending hands right down. The hug between her and kitana? Amazing, Iconic, the wholesome jumped off the screen.
Tumblr media
D’vorah: The bug queen archetype wasn’t filled until she showed up but there are many more reasons why I love her: She just wants to survive and will grasp at any opportunity to do so and i can understand that motive. I headcanon that she did somewhat enjoy her time with the kotal Krew but that probably isn’t real. Kelly hue does just the right amount of survivalist and wit in her voice.
Best moment: when she blocks barakas punch and declares “This One serves mileena no longer!” And starts the fight. I just feel like she’s been waiting a LONG time to say that.
Tumblr media
Ermac: One of my favourite parts about homunculi with many minds in one body is that there is always the question of “do they have a mind of their own or are they just a vessel?” I believe Ermac (in the og timeline at least) answered this question with a “yes we have a soul and we will redeem our past sins.” His way of talking with the “WE ARE MANY” is also nice.
Best moment: deception ending for ermac just being awesome. Also most parts where he flexes the fact that he is made of thousands upon thousands of souls.
Tumblr media
Kitana: Warrior princess who fights with razor fans and is also compassionate? I serve you. Being that she is from Edenia her life is also tragic but good news she kills her abuser, becomes Kahn of outworld and later Kahn of time alongside Liu Kang! Good for her! Her and jade are amazing and deserves so much more for their relationship.
Best moment: killing shao kahn and becoming Kahn. Enough said.
Tumblr media
Fujin: I admit I was mainly swayed to this character by @twennywan and @angermango but then I saw the mk11 intros and I loved them! He seems to be a more laid back god like the headcanons so I am sold on him. Sorry that I can’t say much but I love him.
Best moment: every scene in mkx because that’s the most we see so I’m taking it.
Tumblr media
Kung Lao: the partner of Liu Kang (Not the second best, he shares ‘The Best’ title with Liu Kang) Kung Lao is cocky but it’s earned cockiness in his own words. I mean if you could throw a razor blade hat and catch it without losing your fingers you’d be a bit boastful too. His issues with living up to his name is something I think people can relate to.
Best moment: when he beat up goro that must have felt great for him!
The worst will be later.

@undermyanumbrella
THE QUEEN OF BEAUTIFUL HEADCANONS. seriously, it is so hard to find people who headcanon as much as i do, but i found you and it was like recieving the best birthday gift ever. xD i love our girls and i love that you headcanon with me because you can tell you put so much work into abigail. also i think you’re just pretty cool as a whole, so i hope that our friendship can develop in the new future and that we can add some extra muses to our roster. but omg happy new year, queen!

@sircnss
we don’t talk because i’m a shy dumbass who’s a bit intimidated by you because you seem cool and i’m dumb of ass. but you are such a good writer! i love our little ship thing with claudia and holly! their relationship is refreshing and it’s interesting to see where it goes. have a happy new year!!
@pmbrlys
i don’t even know if you’re around anymore, but honestly, headcanoning with you was truly one of the best headcanoning experiences ever. like you know so much about your boys and any scenario i threw at you you threw something cool back at me and i was so in awe of it. our ooc conversations were cool too and i’m so happy that we got to talk in general because you seem great!
@aholywrathincurred

So, in the spirit of share the love, let’s play a game! Rules: it doesn’t matter how much you have watched of each remake, if it’s everything or just one clip or even if you have to go and watch the trailer just to do this, let’s say something you love about EACH remake. (If I forgot one remake, scream at me in the comments and I’ll add it immediately!)
Skam Italia: My baby. Obviously biased because it’s my culture, so I relate to it on a whole other level, but the friendships in this are so well done. So deep and natural, funny but in a spontaneous and not scripted looking way (the actors are best friends irl and it shows). The boysquad in particular stole my heart and soul and it is what made season 2 to me: I think I enjoyed OG Evak more than Nicotino and maybe I’ll enjoy other Evak more as well, but this boysquad right here will always own my ass. Their chemistry, the support, the mocking and the hugs, the physical affection, the depth of every single one of them. Gio is the best friend and magic wizard everyone deserves, but Elia and Luchino are just as amazing. “Patatine e marmellata”, the clip where Martino and Nicco wake up to the boysquad singing Buon viaggio while cleaning, the same boysquad that slept on the floor for them, well this clip right here is my favorite out of all the Skam Universe. It’s just so pure and real. “Share the love.”
Honorable mentions to: Mamma “finally a good parent” Rametta, Filippo “water only if my room is on fire” Sava, Chicco “savior of gays and god of tutorials” Rodi, Edoardo “I look like a badass but I bake cookies for my crush” Incanti.
Also: The bike scene: Martino taking off the mask while laughing happily with Nicco in front of San Pietro, the most important chatolic church in the world. It really doesn’t get more powerful than that. Which brings me to my last point. The setting, Rome. The eternal city. Only remake to have the Colosseum casually chilling in the background.
Druck: They have Matteo. Do I need to say more? I don’t even know what it is about him, it’s just this unique vibe he has, I loved him from the start and I’m loving his season so far –also I love that his Even (David, Beany Boy, GerEven, wherever you might call him) is so different as well and I hope the character is going to be trans just like the actor. And the fact that there is this confusion about Matteo possibly being Even because of all the little changes (the fricking ciguarette, the Sarah storyline...)? We absolutely don’t know what to expect from this season and I’m here for it. Also, that scene in season 2 where Alexander has a panick attack? That was not only my favorite scene from Druck, but one of my favorite scenes from the Skam universe as a whole, OG included. It was so well acted and so so SO important, the human, hurt side of the William’s character is usually just “told”, but here it was “showed”, raw and real, and it was powerful (and I cried a lot). Mia was there for him and the fact that they showed that even a cool, badass, male character can have panic attacks is, again, so important.
Kiki (Vilde) had an amazing development and let’s not forget that their female Chris has blue hair and she’s simply gorgeous.
Skam Austin: The fact that they kept us all guessing in season one because we didn’t know WHO was the Isak characters was amazing and I’m so happy that it turned out to be Shay, she’s an absolute queen and I’m so excited to see the first female Isak’s season, she’s gonna crush it, I know it. And I can’t wait to meet her Even, I also love the fact that we don’t know yet if it’s gonna be a new character or maybe Megan (Eva) herself, that would make them the only remake to have Eva/Isak canon basically and wow. But to be honest I don’t actually care, like if it’s Megan I’m here for it, if it’s a new girl, I’m here for it too, I just want to see Shay rocks her season.
And their Chris is adorable btw -- > *about eating broccoli* “It’s like eating a tiny three”.
Skam France: They are killing it with this season, Lucas (Isak) is a little savage and I pay this remake my respects for changing the first Evak pool kiss in a RAIN kiss, like, wow, they did that. And the buttcheeks on the mural, the kiss covered in paint, Skam France is feeding us well. Manon and Lucas have one if not the best Noora/Isak friendship, the scene where they both cry on the couch, without talking, is one of my favorite, just like the one where Lucas plays the piano (chills). And this is actually a clip that came out today but I HAVE to mention it: Imane (Sana) talking down the teacher from deleting the mural because all the colors represent all their differences and also skin colors, differences that can’t be covered in white, I loved it and I’m definitely excited for her season and all the changes they’ll make –since it’s not going to be the last season. Also I’m finding Emma (Eva) more adorable and funny in each clip (HER LAVA LAMP LMAO).
SkamNL: I only watched a few clips here and there even if I want to fix that when I’ll have more time, but this doesn’t stop me to have a crush on basically every single member of the girlsquad, like… they’re all beautiful and the Eva’s character looked very different from all the others Evas, I don’t know how to explain it, she’s just…cool. I haven’t heard about big changes in the plot but the vibe I got from what I’ve seen is still very original and different, it’s something on its own and I totally get why so many people love this one.
Also, I’m not sleeping on their Noorhelm: Liv, the Noora’s character, is SICK (in a good way) and Noah, the William, looks adorable and almost a new character, I’m definitely excited for their interactions this season, I think they’ll change quite a lot because Liv won’t take any bullshit from no one (and I love her for it).
SkamEspana: Okay I watched very little of this, but this remake is CRAZY and I’m here for it, Lucas (Isak) is already out of the closet and he has a fucking youtube channel, how great is that, and they’re going to have a CHRIS season which is an absolute first and it’s going to be about her sexuality too, if you haven’t seen the trailer where she’s in the pool go watch it because it’s one of my favorite trailer ever, I’m not even properly following this remake but DAMN, that was glorious and poetic cinema at its finest. This is the remake that changed the most out of all of them and I have no idea what to expect from it: I LOVE this. Also I remember when in one of the first episodes it seemed that the Vilde character was actually Noora, and then the bell suddenly rang, the Eva’s character opened the door and THERE SHE WAS, blonde hair, red lipstick, cute as hell, ‘hi I’m Noora’.  My favorite introduction of the Noora’s character among all the remakes.
WTFock: I haven’t watched a single clip from this remake yet (because it was the last to come out and my social life is already overwhelmed enough as it is by all the Skam) but is this going to stop me from saying at least one good thing about this? NOPE, so here we go --- > This remake wins BEST NAME hands down, like, we have all Skam*country* and then it comes, WTFock LMAO Awesome, just awesome.
And then, of course, last but not last…
SKAM OG: It created all of this.

2019
My Year review, for my own reasons, starts from March 7th.
though what I will say about pre then is, it is an honour to be known by the creator (Cassandra Clare) as the first person to ever admit to being a fan of the Starkweather family after asking about them when she and Holly Black came to Manchester in February. And that I owe that little meet for making me properly look at Holly “Folk of air.” series.___________________________________________________________________________________________
Gigs:
I pick 7th of March to start this review because it is the day myself, Heather and Ally went to see Freya Ridings who had the week before had her song “Lost Without you.” played in an important scene on the final half of the final season of Shadowhunters. I didn’t get to meet her this time, so her song card is still in my folder to be signed one day, and I have hope it will.
As seems to be my song recently, I didn’t get to many gigs this year, though a lot of my fave people toured (some even reformed, but that was over in the US)Due to funds we didn’t even to any Whitby this year (any as there are 4 now may I remind the reader)
Don’t ask me why but I went to see John Barrowmans Christmas show in Harrogate. I love the man but.. I’ll stick to the normal stuff.. if you can call anything Barrowpants does as normal.
What I did get to, was see Counterfeit the week before my birthday with Ally, Jaime and co were on top form and so what I needed after a perfectly ghastly couple of weeks leading up.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Conventions:
*Liverpool Comic Con The same weekend at the Frey Ridings gig, gave me more time with my pack on a bad week. But I’m not talking about that here.Anyway, my reason for Liverpool Comic Con this year was the chance to meet Peter Facinelli (Carlisle Cullen, Twilight / Max Lord, Supergirl)I am a after all a Twilight and a Supergirl fan and also S.W.A.T fan (but he left in s1)Peter told me he hadn’t been written out of SG to make way for the LGBT storyline, he’d asked to be left out as the show had to move filming locations and he didn’t want to be so far from his family all the year. I didn’t gloat to the Sanverse lot but it was tempting.
I also got to speak with Paul (Paul Schrier and Jason Narvy) who played Bulk from Bulk and Skull in Power Rangers, thought Jason waved. They are both sweethearts and while, as mad as their on-screen counterparts, not as annoying, I walked past Paul a few times before finally deciding to ranger up and tell him he was the first person I saw on screen and considered a role model for the “bigger” person. He told me an awesome story about another girl who because she was big had been stuck playing him until he’d fronted up to kids making her and she got to play one of the rangers.I saw the duo again at “Wales” in December and Paul remembered me when I said hi.
*Survival 4 - 2019-04-05 to 2019-04-07 -Ren, London: the first Starfury of the year, the convention I’d given an entire show a 3rd look for after finding out Sean was actually inviting the Seelie Queen herself Lola Flanery (Maddie Griffin, The 100), I’m still not sure if she was amazed, saddened or sickened by the fact me and Heather had come to the convention just for her, but it got a few laughs from Sachin Sahel (Eric Jackson, The 100) who seemed to be her escort for the weekend.I dropped to my knees in the proper greeting of the queen that Jade Hassoune (Meliorn) had taught me the year before at the first Pancon, gave her the fanmade cookbook (don’t ask) and.. I like to think we impress her with our Seelie court cosplay despite being rushed by Sean's announcing.
* Last Wales Comic Con in Telford I looked a tit. I left my shoulder piece at ally so ended up looking like some Roman surf.Meeting David Wenham didn’t go to plan in the slightest, he is my fave actor from Lord Of The Rings and yet somehow, telling him that seemed to bore him.
Russell Tovey (George, Being Human/ Ray Terrill, The Flash) was polite, but colder than I’d have expected, especially when he was so animated and nice to everyone else.
While I have Amanda Tapping auto twice from a friend, finally standing beside her (Capt Carter, Stargate / Dr Magnus, Sanctuary) was an honour, especially When she seemed to like Martouf the Symbiote, as I said my Tok’ra costume had gone to hell but her smile made it bearable.
Alexander Ludwig ( Bjorn, Vikings) was wearing a shirt from Descended from Odin, he laughed when I recognised the logo he is so far the nicest OG Vikings cast member I’ve met.
* Starfury Ultimates 4 - 2019-05-17- 2019-05-19/20 - Hilton, Birmingham:
I got to meet the love interest of my favourite Coluan, Nicole Maines (Nia Nall/Dreamer, Superigrl) and the last reason I have to watch Legends in the form of the amazing Amy Louise Pemberton (Gideon), me and Louiza did our first duo cosplay as Jareth and Sarah from The Labyrinth, though I forgot the Goblin King wears Make up, I seemed to do okay as far as the SF peeps thought.
*LFCC:
well, I’ve said all I am going to say about the lies and lack of organisation and care from the stewards. so. The con....I died, visibly, slowly, but with a lot of translating from my long suffering Parbatai Heather I managed to meet, greet and speak with BOTH Greyjoys,First I had to face them for a photo shoot, in a uniform that was smaller than it was supposed to be, I felt daft not only because it was a Starfleet uniform but because I’d dreamed of cosplaying a greyjoy and my size made it if nothing else monetarily impossible, so I threaded my OBO necklace under my collar, totally against Starfleet regs, and stepped, up, Gemma said hello and Alfie went to before seeing the octopus, I wanted the ground to open up till he beamed“its like a Star trek Greyjoy crossover!” you can guess how happy I was he liked it.At the Autograph table Gemma (Yara) revealed she’s actually a Wessie like me. When I told her she was the best actress in all of Gentleman Jack for even attempting the accent and giving her character believability she said “yes..well.. I grew up in Headingley.” to which If I hadn’t already been falling a part I would have gone to pieces, as was I think I croaked my way through “what.. seriously. Someone cool.. from my area?” or something along those lines.Facing her on-screen brother was possibly the most Fan-squee moment I can ever remember having, and that include quiet a few awesome meets in my conlife. We cued, and I suddenly found my breath was short, his PA miming asked me if I’d had a drink I nodded, he then mimed I was breathless because of Alfie and not him and that he’d fight Alfie which got me laughing, I faced Alfie, took as much concentration I could muster, telling him I’d been there since ep 1, loved the Greyjoys through everything, it was amazing, he is so sweet and so shy, more so than when we’d met him a few years ago backstage for that brief moment, thinking on it it did explain a lot, also why he had his dog Ata with him and had randomly walked past us before taking him for a walk, but standing there in front of him its..indescribable.
Also at LFCC were Zachary Quinto ( Kelvin Timeline Spock) who seemed very taken by Alfie's dog Ata, he wouldn’t do LLAP in photoshoots, at first I thought that was because of the way I approached him, I was unable to keep my breath and looked like I’d been crying, but apparently he just doesn’t do it. Lends itself to the old rumour that for the movies he had to glue his fingers to get it right doesn’t it? He was sweet, I can’t really say much else because I didn’t get the time thanks to ‘things’ to spend time talking with him.
The reason for my costume choice was Shazad Latif (by then Commander Ash Tyler, Star Trek Discovery) I’d met him the previous year but had not had the money to get a photograph with him, so that's what I did, he’s a nice lad, and doesn’t mind goofs as I remembered from last year. I saw him again at DST and told him about a scene in a recent show he did where he didn’t realise someone had accidentally mimicked his accent.
*Starfury Highlanders 4 - 2019-08-09 to 2019-08-11 - Hilton, Birmingham:
Met David Berry and finally met the Queen of Hearts Maria Doyle Kennedy.Made a fool of myself. Got told I ask to many questions and saw Sean so drunk he left hie wallet/card on top and cigars on the bar in public. Also this was the convention that determined a new personal rule. I am not doing 3 day cons for any less than 3 interesting guests. Shadowhunters cast being the exception to the rule only if its someone I’ve not met before.I try to keep to the same rule with Day cons but sometimes there's just someone who makes that impossible (Tom Burke back at a Newcastle comic con a few years ago being my go to example)
* Pandemonium con2:
3rd Shadowhunters con I’d attended.I know I shocked Matt (Alec), Luke (johnathan) and Kat (Clary) as the Owl.I’m told Dom (Jace) was shocked to and said the mask was better than the one he’d worn which we all know is just him being kind to broke overweight untalented fan.Luke is a gent, think I wierded him out asking for him to go full Johnathan in the photo, but he seemed to forgive me when I told him me and my friends Carla and Michelle had dreamcast him as Spike in the Buffy revival (and Jade as Willow obv)Chai (Jordan) is always madness, all the time. And didn’t mind getting scolded for spoilering one of his own charectars deaths to a fan (me) who’d only agreed to watch the show because of him and Lola (Seelie Queen) being in it. He took it with good humour and began discussing spoilering and its limits. He was wierded out by me A.L.I.E photoshoot idea, when most people want hugs and high fives and stuff.
my season 2 Seelie didn’t get the reaction from Jade (Meliorn) my s1 did in Milan the previous year, but I think by then he knew I was mad enough to try it, and it wasnt a direct attempt at him (not for lack of trying)He loved the Buffy notebook set and Hufflepuff hat I got him, was even wearing it at closing, though I didn’t get pics as my camera died. Wasnt surprised apparently, that I’m Hufflepuff too. Which most would have taken as a barb but just kept me grinning.I gave him Tomato crisps but he has yet to tell me the answer to the question he asked had asked me when I first found them over here “are they the real thing?”I also brought a little dragon to meet its name sake, I did considering giving him it but I think I overloaded him, he was a flattered by the likeness though, also by the smell? Guessed it was a boy angel knows how because I don’t.
I met Nicola Damude (Maryse) in Milan, but because of stuff and thangs I didn’t get to talk to her for long, so when she got announced it was heaven for me,I gave her a jar of Pontefract cakes from the Castle (still not sure why) and she asked if she could give them to her dad who loves black Liquorice, I was pleased as anything, and she asked me where Pontefract was and I for some reason said“famous for Liquorice, racing and hot pokers.” to which Ally explained and got nick laughing.Ally cosplayed Maryse which had Nic smiling like a chesire cat and her picture where Allys brought out Biromantic heart flag will go into her wall of pride flags which she puts in her window during pride week at home in Canada even when shes away working.
*Destination Star Trek 2019:
I met up with Villiana and Sarah at DST, still surprised Sarah was a Trekkie, but it made the con more interesting, intop obviously of my 5 reasons for attending despite cash flow Shazad Latif (Commander Ash Tyler), Wilson Cruz and Anthony Rapp (Dr Hugh Culber and Lieutenant Paul Stamets), Alan Van Sprang (Commander Leland/Control) and Ethan Peck (Liuetenant Spock)
When I met Wilson Cruz I gave him the picture I’d got last year to sign and told him it was for my friend who was a nurse and couldn’t attend, he said “theirs always next year” adding quickly “if we’re asked.” to which I grinned, I explained how she was a Cardiac nurse and couldn’t rearrange shifts when they (he and Anthony) got announced, how she’d binged both seasons and they were her faves. He was proud to be playing a doctor liked by a nurse.
First photo was with Ethan, I was nervous as hells. Despite the fact it seemed only I remembered the significance of Alice in Wonderland to Spock I went through with my idea, he leant over my shoulder looking interested, I was so happy even after I realised the book was facing to far right for the cover to be readable. Ethan asked about the pic when I went to his table to get his autograph and I said it was awesome, turns out I was so annoyed at myself for the way I held the book, I’d not noticed he was giving the book the Spock eyebrow till I scanned it.I asked him if he’d do me a favour when he went back on the set of Penny Dreadful and told him about Live Dom and Prosper to which he laughed and said he’d only seen Dominic the day before.
While I was cuing for Ethans auto there was a girl behind me talking about asking Shazad who was sat next to him to sign her s31 badge she’d just bought, I’ve had mine since they came out and com badges before that so I turned round and told her it would be impossible to keep in tact, she said it wouldn’t matter just because she’d been up to him to get it signed, and I looked where she’d positioned it and tried to keep myself from saying anything else, someone gave her a pen they thought would last better, a group gathered trying to talk her ionto it, and while they were talking Shazads cue wass empty so I wandered over, got my friend Michelle is auto and talked about Departure where he didn’t know for a few moments in one scene a Canadian playing a Brit hadn’t been able to help mimicking his London accent, he found it funny and couldn’t believe I noticed, I shrugged and said “two of my fave actors in one scene, I notice these things.” I told him where to look and he wrote it down. I then asked if there was any plans to try and get Ash into the section 31 show even as a hologram and he said there was a discussion going on which got me grinning, I turned round and the girls thought I’d told but I shook my head, I wanted none of it. But when I got back in Ethans line she stepped out of and went to ask him, he didn’t look very bothered about where she had it, he just liked the idea.
From day 1 There was no question I was walking out as Section 31 again, but this time, instead of being the only black badge I was one of a sea, I was however the only one to give Alan Van Sprang a 3d print copy of the ship, his ship, the NCIA-93 which he loved, said I’d out done myself (after the rune com I gave him last year) and took another Selfie I’ll never see lol
my friend Ashley took photos of the whole encounter, from Alan thinking I’d given him a box of bubble wrap to the shock on his face, he said getting the ship was 2nd in awesome only to stepping onto the set of the ship itself. We got talking, I asked him about something Nicola had said at pancon, that when he’d had his first and only scene with her he’d called her Marsee instead of Maryse and he said its true and that she’d told him she’d told the story at a con the previous month, I said it was only last week, to which Ash from over my shoulder said that I am and I quote “the number one fan in the UK and universally known in the con community as the biggest fan and a lot of people only knew of Shadowhunters because of me,” apparently that's a consensus as I found out later, and as much as I don’t think its strictly true I was honoured never the less,he wasn’t took keen on my writing, apparently Lisa looked like Lisa am or something? don’t ask.So we were chatting and suddenly I noticed this head bobbing up and down behind him, Wilson Cruz had left his place and was using a chair to do raised push ups because he was bored.I realised that I’d stood chatting to Alan longer than was strictly polite for other fans so I bowed out, Saw him again for photos, where he and Shazad made me very happy
I do feel a bit of dope, I brought my asexual flag for my photo with Wilson and Anthony, but when Anthony asked me what the colours meant my brain went blank, I have to agree to tweet him a link. At least with him and Wilson I know they check twitter lol.
When I went up to get Anthony's auto on the Culmets photo for Ally I told him the same as I’d told Wilson how about Ally binging the show and loving them, how I’d pretty much known who’d she’d go for as faves, how she's a combo of the two and how..well what I said was “Paul rocks.” to which he grinned and said “of course he does.” LOL
* Miracle Day Returns (5) 2019-11-15 to 2019-11-17 - -Ren, London: Seeing the old crowd was perfect for the last Starfury of the year (Destiny never counts)hearing from Gareth on the future potential for music, getting ribbed by Kai, and of course watching the two of them taking the piss out of John is always a riot.Seeing Kai and Eve handing Sean a peition for a 5th Miracle Day was awesome, and we know it will happen.. somewhere down the line
*Wales Comic Con Telford Takeover December: I am not standing on Aidan’s foot in the picture! That I have to be clear on, I am getting fking sick of people joking that I am. He is still laughing from a previous person in the booth and her kid., I would have gone back and asked about reshoots but door were closed and I figured Aidan had left as he was on a schedule.
Colton loved his Pokeball even if I did get them mixed up and have to get him and Adam to swap.Told me Roy end up with his arm back “sort of.” and there's no plans for him to be in the spin off but “its the future, you never know.”
Dean O’Gorman (Bragi, Almighty Johnson's) loved the fact I’d brought the cover of young Herc to be signed, and told me that it was the Pilot which explained why Ian didn’t continue as young Herc (scheduling)
Tyler confirmed he is the Superman in the spin off. I knew it was but just hearing him say it :DTyler and Colton both recognised us, it was awesome!
While I am Ify on the new location due to travel funds and things, generally the convention was awesome as always. ____________________________________________________________________________________________
Stuff
TVWith the end of Shadowhunters I have seriously been lacking new shows.I’ve tried different things and nothings stuck.Star Trek Discovery aired at the same time as Shadowhunters and was over nearly at the same time. The In-Between was interesting but isn’t getting a season 2,The Expanse s4 only started last week,Shadowhunters, TVD, Teen Wolf, Grimm, Torchwood, Xena, Bad Girls The Tribe, True Blood, Andromeda, American Horror Story, Merlin, B5, Stargate, its a short list but a special oneso I’ve started rewatches : my go to’s (see above list^) till something sneaks up.
MusicPretty much the same deal.J4de released some awesome songs, but that’s 4 songs, the EP is out ‘later’.but no new band has really grabbed me.
Upside? In November we learned that My Chem have reformed, just gotta wait and see if they record or tour outside the US. _______________________________________________________
Important
“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another, ‘What! You too? I thought I was the only one.” - C.S. Lewis
As always I have to have to mark those people who have made this year bareable, the good thing is this year there is no need for a piece on those who've also made it unbearable.
you know who you are, and if you don't.. assume i'm talking of you, because likely hood is I am.
"Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens." - J. R. R. Tolkien
And that is.. or was it. Goodbye 2019

The best PC games around – essential pick-ups from every genre
New Post has been published on https://entertainmentguideto.com/awesome/the-best-pc-games-around-essential-pick-ups-from-every-genre/
The best PC games around – essential pick-ups from every genre
The best PC games
With unparalleled accessibility and endless upgradability, it’s no wonder that millions of gamers around the world think PC is the best place to play. Because of the platform’s history, curating a list of every great PC game throughout the ages would be a tough task, so we’ve put together a listing of modern titles that’re the best PC games to spend your time with right now.
So, in alphabetical order, here’re 50 of the best PC games around.
Cities Skylines- Honorable mentions: Prison Architect, Tropico 5
In an alternate universe where EA and Maxis didn’t drop the ball, this slot is occupied by the latest and greatest SimCity release. In fact, Cities: Skylines developer Colossal Order was miserably certain its project wouldn’t be greenlit thanks to SimCity’s announcement- but its subsequent pratfall only stimulated Paradox more eager to bring PC gamers what they wanted most.
The best way to describe Cities: Skyline is” SimCity but make use of people who liked the same things about the series as you did “. The indie squad has demonstrated tremendous commitment to ongoing support, too.
Civilization 6- Honorable mentions: Total War Rome 2, Endless Legend
Dissatisfied with the style of the world right now? Fire up Civ 6 and it’ll be 2019 before you know it.
This latest entry into Sid Meier’s Civilization series is an astonishing day sink, with the possibility to spend more than 1,000 hours across multiple games scrapping your style to global domination using strategy, diplomacy, and, when everything else fails, all out war.
The AI can be shonky at times- confounding itself and get stuck in the same flurry of actions- but there’s a lot to love here. Each of the present 24 civilization leaders are colourfully animated and bursting with personality, and there’s enough variety in their strengths, weakness and unique divisions to make playing different nations fun.
CS GO- Honorable mentions: Arma 3
To be honest we didn’t think anything could ever out Counter-Strike: Source as the go-to competitive shooter on PC( and for some people, both CS: S and the original CS remain their primary shooter ), but good ongoing support on top of the experience and panache of Valve’s development team has proved us wrong. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is now one of the top eSports titles in current circulation, and a damn good time even for the less competitively-minded.
Global Offensive was also available on consoles but like every Valve game support outside of Steam was restriction. Steam is where you’ll find the best of the best, if you fancy being humbled.
Cuphead- Honorable mentions: Nuclear Throne, Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth
Because of its unique art style, Cuphead has been on just about everyone’s radar for years. Thankfully, when it ultimately reached, the game was just as good at it seemed.
Cuphead is tough but accessible, and while the amount of projectiles on-screen can reach near bullet-hell different levels of madness, it entirely nails that artery-bursting, desk-smashing difficulty that has you fistpumping with every hard won victory.
DOOM- Honorable mentions: Wolfenstein 2, Bioshock Infinite
If your rig can run it, DOOM on max sets is a beautiful sight to behold. Well, as beautiful as monstrous demons from hell getting ripped to pieces with a chainsaw can be.
Fast-paced and ultra-violent, DOOM isn’t for the weak of belly- not just because the enemies leak strawberry jam like a poorly packed barbecue, but the ardor with which Doomguy doles out infernal punishment from a first-person view can leave some feeling nauseous.
This is no-holds-barred action at its eye-widening, engrossing best.
DoTA 2- Honorable mentions: Heroes of the Storm
DoTA- and MOBAs in general- might have started life as a Warcraft 3 mod, but with DoTA 2, it’s blossomed into a fully-fledged cornerstone of the eSports MOBA scene- with nearly $140 million won as prize money to date.
There’s a vast amount to get to grips with in DoTA 2, where developers Valve attained the trade-off of a steep learning curve for unparalleled depth. Once you’re up to velocity with the meta heroes and builds though, DoTA 2 offers a tense and engrossing competitive experience.
Dark Souls 3- Honorable mentions: Nioh, All of Dark Souls
Souls is a special series, and picking simply one game to represent it on a list is tough. It’s fitting then that Dark Souls 3 plays like a greatest hits, with all the strengths and weaknesses that come with that tag. It might not be as zeitgeist-shaping as the original, or have the same context or subtlety, but everything that you fell in love with is there in spades.
Dark Souls 3 also manages to be the most accessible Souls game, but doesn’t lose any of the challenge. The motion velocity might be quicker and some of the systems streamlined to be less confusing, but that doesn’t detract from the same core loop-the-loop that sits as the foundation for the whole series- die, and get ready to die again until you achieve glorious victory.
Dishonored 2- Honorable mentions: Deus Ex Mankind Divided, Prey
Immersive sims are synonymous with PC, and Dishonored 2 utterly nails the genre. Each map is a rich sandbox where you’re given a simple objective and how you reach it is your choice- leaving you to use every weapon in your arsenal as you see fit.
This means that every level plays almost like a puzzle to be solved, and you’ll be constantly be thinking, “what happens if I do this”, and “what happens if I go over there? ”
Dishonored 2’s dual playable results, Emily Kaldwin- the usurped queen- and Corvo Attano- the grizzled royal defender- have distinct power defines. Emily’s youthful indignation lends itself to a more destructive, violent playstyle, whereas Corvo is more adept at remaining undetected. This only adds even more replayability to a game that are currently has a whole host of different solutions.
Divinity: Original Sin 2- Honorable mentions: Tyranny, Shadowrun Dragonfall
For more than 15 years, Belgian maestro Larian Studios has been churning out quality RPGs in the old-school mould of genre classics. The recently published entry, Divinity: Original Sin 2, is a sequel to 2014 ’s Divinity: Original Sin- which itself is a prequel to the 2002 OG Divine Divinity- and a high water-mark for the already acclaimed series.
Original Sin 2 expertly mixes its nuanced tactical combat and memorable narratives and side quests with an incredible sum of option. The variety of potential interactions that can arise in every situation mean that the game’s formula bides fresh for the entirety of the its considerable length.
What’s more, you can party up with three friends and explore in four-player drop-in co-op, and this is an experience well worth sharing.
Dream Daddy- Honorable mentions: Huniepop, Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havok
The world of dating sims can be a strange one, but the best in the genre approach their characters with a heartwarming earnestness that makes them a pleasure to befriend.
In Dream Daddy you play as a single Dad who’s upped sticks to a new township with your daughter, Amanda, in tow. In a fortuitous turn of events, your new home Maple Bay is stuffed full of eligible daddies just waiting to be wooed. With Amanda’s blessing, you can choose to date any of seven hunky parents, revealing more and more about their personality as your relationship grows.
There are normal and secret ends to unlock for each perfect pop too; enough to keep any would-be matchmaker busy.
Elite Dangerous- Honorable mentions: Star Citizen
A few years ago it felt like you couldn’t move for all the upcoming space sims, but very few of them have materialised in any form a sane person would pay a retail price for. Elite: Dangerous practically wins over its genre buddies by default just by being a playable, full-featured game you can buy as opposed to something you’re allowed to look at in trailers while gibbering for a release date.
It’s also great, though, which is why it’s here. We don’t have much hope for the console constructs, to be honest; what you want is a powerful old beast of a PC, all the situates turned up as high as they can go, and a gorgeous universe to go and explore. At least one of those things is yours for the taking, courtesy of Frontier Developments, and nearly justify an investment in the first one so the second becomes a potential.
Europa Universalis 4- Honorable mentions: Hearts of Iron 4
Ah, grand strategy. How better to live out your imperial fantasies than at the helm of an endlessly growing empire that responds totally to your beck and bellow.
While Civilization V also occupies this list, Europa Universalis 4 stands out because of its straighter representation of history and the world as we know it, rather than a haphazardly made map each time. You’re still guiding your nation through centuries of diplomacy, trade, and warfare, but now there are random events to contend with as well. These can reflect the real world challenges that a nation in your opt part of the world might face, or come entirely out of leftfield- meaning there’s always room for a spanner in the works of your best laid plans.
To deplete Europa Universalis would take hundreds of hours on its own, but add the ceaseless release of new DLC packs and- even if they’re a bit pricey – you’ve got a strategy game for the ages.
EVE Online- Honorable mentions: Warframe, Black Desert Online
EVE Online is like nothing else out there. Where most games are lorded for their deep worldbuilding and painstakingly crafted lore, EVE’s greatest legends played out in real period between real players.
Hardcore members of this profession-based space sim have formed sophisticated corporations which fuel the game’s functioning economy. In times of peace the organic-feeling world is a marvel of role-playing. But when shit makes the fan, EVE Online plays host to more political intrigue and calculated backstabbing than a glossy series of HBO drama.
If you’re in the market for a “living, breathing world” that’s more than a marketing buzzword, EVE might be your purse.
Fallout 4- Honorable mentions: Skyrim
One of, if not the, best thing about Bethesda RPGs is the exceptional community of modders that painstakingly add hundreds of hours of fun to the vanilla experience with their hard work. So when the “Enhanced Edition” of Softworks’ previous highwatermark, The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, was released and broke years of mod support, it was a weep shame.
It induces sense then to recommend one of Bethesda’s more recent endeavors, Fallout 4, which not only offers another romp into the transcendently awesome Fallout universe, but updates the underlying game mechanics enough to finally make it a competent shooter as well.
While the newly-voiced main character hampers some of the game’s ability to provide flexible role playing, the main narrative is interesting, the side quests are superb, and there are plenty of secrets and pop-culture references to unearth in all regions of the Commonwealth.
FF14 – Honorable mentions: Elder Scrolls Online
Final Fantasy 14 is one of the greatest redemption narratives in gaming. After a bumpy launch which find the game scrapped just after release in favour of a wholly revamped version, Final Fantasy 14 re-emerged with a reworked interface and gameplay, better optimisation and a snazzy new tagline: A Realm Reborn.
Now with virtually 12 million characters generated worldwide, FF14 is a thriving MMO community that’s merely been bolstered by the release of the critically-well-received Stormblood expansion.
The main depict for new players is the story missions, which tell the suitably grand tale of war between the adventurers of Eorzea and the invading Garlean Empire. But there are plenty of side quests- called Leves- to combat through as well; each oozing with that trademark Final Fantasy panache.
Fortnite- Honorable mentions: Team Fortress 2, Totally Accurate Battlegrounds
Fortnite is the biggest game running, and it’s not even on Steam. It’s been a slow-burn, but right now, Fortnite seems unassailable in its global domination, violating well and truly into the mainstream thanks to its popularity on mobile and with kids and streamers alike.
While the paid Save the World PvE game mode is fun enough and a good way to earn free V-bucks, it’s the F2P battle royale mode that’s taking the world by storm. The combining of a low barrier of entry, a simple to learn but hard to master gameplay loop-the-loop, and tense player-versus-player opposes constructs Fortnite a compelling proposition.
GTA 5- Honorable mentions: Saints Row 4, Sleeping Dogs
Yes, GTA 5 is on our PS4 and Xbox One best of listings. Yes, it’ll likely go on every listing we ever stimulate. It is just that good. It is a titan of our times.
But also it’s especially good on PC. Even though Rockstar has not been staggeringly supportive of modding( arguably fair enough, given how hard it must be to police GTA Online ), the GTA 5 mod scene is a gift that maintains on giving. The video editor has enabled some cracking bits of art and craft. And, of course, on Ultra decideds the PC version of GTA 5 outshines all the others. Sorry.
Gunpoint- Honorable mentions: The Swapper, Sperlunky
First there was nothing. Then there was Gunpoint. Now there are imitators- but nothing does it quite as well as Tom Francis did that first time, even if you can knock it over pretty quickly with your whizz-kid brain.
Gunpoint is a sort of stealth puzzle game in which players must infiltrate various houses without being identified by guards. Making use of existing securities systems and eventually even rewiring grids altogether is far more satisfying than merely ninja rolling across a doorway.
Hearthstone Witchwood expansion- Honorable mentions: The Elder Scrolls Legends, Chronicle: Runescape Legends, Gwent
Hearthstone, with each passing expansion, cements its place at the head of the card battling table further and further. While its original appeal might’ve had more to do with WoW nostalgia than anything else, it’s grown into its own distinct entity, and is now just as popular with gamers that’ve never set foot in Azeroth.
Regularly updated with new cards- like the most recent Witchwood expansion- Hearthstone manages to stay fresh by constantly introducing new mechanics. The RNG can be frustrating and the implementation of the new standard competitive format, which rotates cards out of circulation after a certain amount of time, can make it difficult to maintain a competitive deck if you’re not playing all the time. But the additions of the Dungeon Run solo adventure Monster Hunt mode have stimulated it immeasurably easier to enjoy the game for cheap.
Hollow Knight- Honorable mentions: Ori and the Blind Forest, Owlboy
Hollow Knight is a beautiful indie Metroidvania filled with lush animation, tight platforming and tense action. You play as The Knight, a mysterious character exploring the ruinings of the insectoid kingdom of Hollownest.
Despite its nebulous narrative, Hollow Knight is gripping thanks to its absorbing environments and original character design.
It’s not an easy game either, owing to some twitchy platforming and combat. A lot of foes won’t go down without a fight, and you’re almost certainly going to die a couple of times on some of Hollow Knight’s more difficult boss.
Homeworld Remastered Collection- Honorable mentions: Stellaris
If VG247 expanded its editorial remit to cover classic games, this would be a very different listing- but in both parallel cosmoes, Homeworld builds the grade. One of a number of properties put up for auction when THQ folded, support for Homeworld had well and truly ended and you couldn’t even buy the classic games any more, so the fanbase was hungry both for a re-release and for something new.
Gearbox’s Brian Martel was one of those fans, in the enviable position of being able to do something about it. The developer is not merely gave its boon and financial support for spiritual successor and now official sequel Homeworld: Shipbreakers, it put together a wonderfully tasty package in Homeworld: Remastered Collection. Both games in classic and updated kind, with a combined multiplayer suite? Yes, please. The classic gameplay is as strong as ever, by the way.
Into the Breach- Honorable mentions: Invisible Inc
From the sadistic minds behind FTL: Faster than Light, Into the Breach is an addictive turn-based strategy where you squish bug-like foreigners with giant fighting robots. What more needs to be said?
You fell your mechs onto a square grid populated not just with foes, but obstacles and objectives based on the type of mission you’ve undertaken and terrain you’re battling on. Your task is then to clear the field of hostiles in a certain amount of moves, involving considerable forethought and planning to get the job done effectively. While the premise is simple, completing the hardest challenges Into the Breach has to throw at you isn’t- and once you factor in the scalable difficulty modes, there’s some serious replayability here too.
Kerbal Space Program- Honorable mentions: RimWorld
In Kerbal Space Program you design, build and launch rockets from first principle. If this sounds like a doddle to you, you’ve been playing too many crafting survival sandboxes; constructing things takes more attempt than slapping the appropriate number of resources down on a blueprint.
Getting Kerbals into space is hard, but every time you blow one up or leave them endlessly orbiting the moon as a corpse, you’ve gained something: you’ve learned what not to do. It’s almost like a rogue-like with persistent character progression, only what’s being carried over is your knowledge. Get your little Kerbals to new reaches of the solar system, and then get them back again, is an absolute triumph.
League of Legends- Honorable mentions: SMITE
Another of the heaviest eSports hitters around, League of Legends is easier to get into than Dota, but is still retains a high level of strategic depth.
LoL has the largest roster of heroes of all the major MOBAs, with original and interesting champion designs that mean you’re pretty much always going to find someone new you want to try out. That choice is limited somewhat if you really want to play the metagame, but there’s still decent variety in the top pickings.
In terms of gameplay, we’re talking bread-and-butter stuff- two teams try to destroy each other’s Nexus while working to raise their individual power level- but here it’s executed brilliantly. The delicate balance that League of Legends manages to create between fast-paced action and strategic positioning attains it one of the best in the genre.
Life is Strange- Honorable mentions: Dreamfall Chapters, TellTale’s The Walking Dead
Originally episodic but now totally bingable, Life is Strange is an engrossing narrative of high-school drama, rekindled friendship, and day travelling. What’s better is that the first episode is now free, entailing you can get a savor of the waterside township of Arcadia Bay with no strings attached.
As Max, an 18 year-old wouldbe photographer, you explore the parallel mysteries of your new-found powers and the disappearance of fellow student Rachel Amber, all the while trying to fit into a new school and make friends.
From its drizzly Oregon setting to its jangly hipster boulder soundtrack, Life is Strange perfectly captures the feeling of teenage angst and adds a supernatural twisting that’s interesting until the credits roll.
Minecraft- Honorable mentions: Terraria
You can argue that it wasn’t until its Xbox 360 release that Minecraft entered the public consciousness, but it was and remains a culture phenomenon on PC. More than 20 million purchases on a single platform is a huge amount by any measure, but the PC version of Minecraft is also where updates drop-off first, where mods and custom servers happen, where most of the amazing video content is attained, and where educational programs are carried out.
Minecraft is also credited with kicking off or at least popularising a bunch of industry tendencies- paid early access schemes, crafting sandboxes and of course indie as multi-million dollar success tale.
Overwatch- Honorable mentions: Team Fortress 2
Overwatch’s charming cast of playable heroes inspire undying fealty in their legions of fervent fans- and it’s easily to find why. The visual design of this lavish and slickly presented competitive shooter is as stylish as its gameplay is tactical and engaging.
It might’ve been a bit light on content when it first made shelves, but Acti-Blizz’s ongoing supporting has consistently refreshed the competitive meta with tweaks and new heroes. There’s something for everyone the roster, with strong heroes in every architype- from twitch-heavy offensive characters like cyborg-ninja Genji, to slower-paced, defensively minded characters like the mounted gun Omnic Bastion.
Recently Blizzard has doubled down on Overwatch’s esports potential with the multimillion dollar Overwatch League, where teams representing cities from around the world compete for a huge award pond.
Papers, Please- Honorable mentions: Her Story
Papers, Please starts off simple- check the documents, stamp them or reject them- and get very hard very, very quickly. It’s not just the increasingly finicky regulations handed down by your government overlords and the constantly ticking clock; the misery of applicants and the escalating political tension stimulates your role as a border guard feel like a penance. Of course, it pays the bills- if and only if you do a good enough job.
Channeling a kind of generic Cold War East European flavour, Papers, Please isn’t really about any specific place or time so much as it is about depressingly universal themes of hope, hopelessnes, bureaucracy and everyday people whose lives are just grist in its mill.
PayDay 2- Honorable mentions: Hotline Miami
Oh sure it came out on consoles, including current-gen, but the PC version is simply the best PayDay 2 experience. Not to get all Master Race on you, but PC multiplayer aficionados are generally better equipped to deal with the kind of gameplay PayDay 2 fosters and often demands- leadership, teamwork, communication and patience, as opposed to racing to get the most kills.
Overkill Software has kept up support with new content and patches for PayDay 2 over the years, and you are able to even play the game wholly in VR. There’s always something new to find and collect, and the nature of the game means even running the same missions repeatedly can have wildly different results. Get a crew together, example the joint, and go for the loot.
Pillar of Eternity- Honorable mentions: Planetscape Torment, Wasteland 2
Once again, imagine if this were a list of the best PC games of all time. Clearly it would not be complete without a bunch of Infinity Engine games like Baldur’s Gate and Planescape Torment , not to mention other classic CRPGs like Fallout. In the absence of these vintage treasures we offer Pillars of Eternity, a love letter to a golden age of PC RPGs, crowdfunded to be the successor fans wanted even if they did have to wait ten years for it.
Pillars of Eternity is remarkably faithful to the formula, with a huge casting of diverse, complex characters, robust customisation and oodles of compelling content. If you’ve never tried a classic CRPG it may not be the very best basic starting point, but if you’re even partly interested you’ll find plenty to love.
It’s sequel, Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire, is a brilliant game too- and well worth the investment if you enjoyed the first.
Portal 2- Honorable mentions: The Witness, SUPERHOT
Portal 2 is a victory of clever design and exceptional world-building, managing to make the player feel like they’re ingeniously breaking the game at every turn, when that was the correct solution all along.
It’s not just top-quality puzzles that constructs Portal 2 stand out from the crowd though- there are plenty of laughs from Ellen McLain’s star turn as GlaDOS, writer of The Office and Extras Stephen Merchant as Wheatley, and the lovably stupid turrets.
Project Cars 2- Honorable mentions: DIRT Rally, Assetto Corsa
When you think of the lackluster recent efforts from once great racing series, it’s brilliant to ensure new names lining up at the grid. Project Cars 2 is a strong racing sim that offers a solid driving experience, great visuals, and tons of licensed supercars to push to the limit.
Racing fans are notoriously hard to please, but there are some growls that have to be aired. The aggressive AI is sometimes difficult to deal with and penalties can feel unjust, while some players report issues with graphical stuttering. If you can get things tuned how you like them though, Project Cars genuinely hits the place.
PUBG- Honorable mentions: H1Z1 Battle Royale
Though the fervour around PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds may have cooled somewhat in recent months, it was better provides one of the tensest competitive shooting experiences around.
With a stronger focus on realistic weapons and environments than it’s cousin, Fortnite, PUBG laid the groundwork for the battle royale genre to take the world by storm. Not merely does it require intense concentration to hold your nerve as you stalk the large surroundings in search of unsuspecting prey, but the bursts of explosive activity require deadly precision and lightning-fast twitch skills.
It’s still buggy and rough, but there’s tons of fun left to be had.
Rainbow Six Siege- Honorable mentions: Insurgency
When it first released to decent reviews, we don’t believe anyone expected Rainbow Six Siege to have the sheer staying power it’s demonstrated since it dropped in 2015.
Now in its third year of consistent content updates, Six Siege offers something different in the competitive shooter space. There’s less emphasis on all-out fragging, in favour of coordinated team maneuvers in tight, destructible environments. Get used to constantly evaluating the bullet-repellant abilities of every surface around you- and try not to let the habit bleed into your everyday life.
You choose from nearly 40 Operators- each with their own kit and special abilities- and fighting in various categories of small squad game modes. Year Three kicked off with Operation Chimera, which added a new PvE horde mode where you fight infected zombie-ish animals.
SOMA- Honorable mentions: Outlast
Back when YouTubers only attained hundreds of thousands instead of millions of dollars, squealing at jump-scares was in vogue and Frictional Games’ Amnesia: The Dark Descent was many content creator’s go-to. But while it won popularity for its noisier moments, what Amnesia did better than pretty much anything else was create a creeping gothic ambience that dripped tension and menace- so that when something did inevitably emerge from the dark “youre ever” good and ready to shit your gasps.
Five years later, with a few lessons learnt and a new sci-fi setting, Frictional re-emerged with SOMA, an exceptionally immersive and unsetting experience that stays with you far past the game’s near ten-hour runtime.
SOMA improves on everything that stimulated Frictional’s back catalogue great, as well as being mechanically tighter too. As you explore the underwater PATHOS-II research facility, solve light puzzles, and investigate the mystery of your surroundings, things start to get weirder and weirder before the tension reaches its crescendo at the game’s disturbing conclusion.
Starcraft 2- Honorable mentions: Warhammer 40 K Dawn of War 3
The StarCraft franchise was essential to the growth of the eSports scene. Shooters have always been important, and MOBAs have risen to prominence these days, but the tens of millions of dollars handed out at prizes at tournaments today would never have passed without Starcraft. What says eSports more than a packed arena of cheering Korean fans threatening to Zerg Rush their heroes on the stage?
Starcraft 2 is the template that most modern competitive RTSs follow, and has earnt the reverence that it’s afforded in the gaming community.
Stardew Valley- Honorable mentions: Slime Rancher, Farming Simulator 17
Stardew Valley is simply the best farming sim around. While it might not be the most realistic, or the most visually impressive, Stardew Valley more than induces up for those working deficits with exceptional charm and oodles of magical moments.
The game centres around the player’s revival of their grandfather’s dilapidated old farm, raising livestock, sowing crops and making food to sell at marketplace. There’s also a number of light RPG parts where you can fight through dungeons filled with ogres, craft items and forge relationships- some of them romantic- with the townsfolk in surrounding villages.
Developed almost single-handedly by designer and programmer Eric ” ConcernedApe ” Barone, Stardew Valley shows how a clear vision exacted by a lean team can produce something that’s severely special.
Sunless Sea- Honorable mentions: Don’t Starve
“Eat your crew” is a hell of a tagline, and you will eat them, at the least once. This unusual rogue-like is set in the same fascinating universe as browser-based escapade Fallen London, but in addition to the darkly beautiful fiction this time there’s a stressfully difficult survival and exploration game to conquer as well.
Roaming the Sunless Sea in silence as your food and fuel ticking ever downwards, eyes and ears straining for any sign of ogres or pirates, hoping to find a port in need of whatever bizarre cargo you’re carrying – it’s a unique and challenging experience. Survive long enough to pass a trait to your successor and begin constructing a heritage of captains; Sunless Sea is not a game to be conquered in a single lifetime.
The sequel, Sunless Skies, is currently out in Early Access, but due a full release soon.
The Forest- Honorable mentions: Ark, Dying Light
Early Access survival-crafting games were all the rage in 2014, but while some remain in a perpetual state of beta, others are actually coming out as full releases and starting to look properly good.
The Forest situateds itself apart from its contemporaries by being both a fulfill resource-gatherer and spoopy as flippin’ heck. You find, the wooded peninsula that your player-character determines themselves on isn’t as idyllic as it first seems. Infesting the woodland and network of subterranean caves is an intelligent society of cannibalistic mutants that grow more twisted and freaky the deeper you delve.
During the working day- while the mutants are less aggressive – you have to stockpile your resources and craft a fortified base, because come nightfall you’re going to need everything you are able to lay hands on to fend off the ravenous beasties.
The Stanley Parable- Honorable mentions: The Beginner’s Guide, Firewatch
Nominally a game with a very straight forward if surreal story line and a clever narration gimmick, The Stanley Parable only opens up for those who wilfully play with it. While many games expend a great deal of effort ensuring the player knows they have to go from A to B and trying to prevent them doing anything else, The Stanley Parable openly engages with the tropes of modern story-driven gameplay by rewarding you for doing the things a few gamers will always do: disobey. Wander off. Fiddle. Wall hack.
In this sense, The Stanley Parable is one of the very few gaming experiences with a narrative to tell and respect for its players as more than a passive vehicle for the creator’s artistic vision. Also, it is hilarious.
The Witcher 3- Honorable mentions: FF 15
Few games are lauded with as much ardor as The Witcher 3, and it truly deserves every plaudit. This is the high-watermark for character-lead RPGs, constantly telling richly layered and engrossing tales across its main quest, side missions and narrative DLC.
The Witcher 3 follows Geralt of Rivia throughout the Northern Kingdoms on parallel quests to find Emperor Emhyr var Emreis’ daughter, Ciri, and solve the mystery of The Wild Hunt.
Geralt’s world is densely populated with Monster Hunts, hidden rich, and secrets to uncover, entailing you are able to spend well over 100 hours finding it all- as well as mastering the deep potions and crafting mechanics and combat ability tree.
The DLC packs are some of the best around too, meaningfully upgrading the core experience with even more quests to devour and areas to explore.
Titanfall 2- Honorable mentions: Battlefield 1
In 2010, some of the top brass behind the world-conquering Call of Duty franchise left Infinity Ward to find their own studio: Respawn Entertainment. After a spluttering start with the multiplayer-only Titanfall, they found their feet- critically at the least- with the brilliant Titanfall 2.
By blending the same frantic action and eye-bulging set pieces that stimulated Modern Warfare’s campaign live so long in the memory with an affecting buddy-movie storyline, Respawn crafted one of the best shooter campaigns in years.
It might not be the longest, but is often on sale for cheap.
Total War Warhammer 2- Honorable mentions: Warhammer: Vermintide 2
For years, Creative Assembly has been king of the historical strategy war game. With Total War Warhammer 2 they’ve brought the same ingenuity and depth to the table, just this time you’ve get Lizardmen instead of Carolingians. And when is anything not improved by the addition of Lizardmen?
Owning the first Total War Warhammer as well as the second is pretty much a necessity, since it unlocks a ton of content in this more recent game, but it’s worth it for the life-consumingly awesome campaign mode where you take part in an epic battle to control the Great Vortex.
Undertale- Honorable mentions: Kentucky Route Zero
The breakout indie hitting of the last few years, Undertale won hearts the world over by perfecting the delicate balance of in-joky, referential witticism without overdoing it.
Developed virtually single-handedly by inventor Toby Fox, it’s not just the story that induces Undertale special, but also the variety of its combat mechanics and puzzles. It might look like a typical retro JRPG throwback, but there’s a lot more going on than first satisfies the eye.
There’s also an entertaining meta-narrative that gives you a properly compelling reason to run two or three different play-throughs, and memorable soundtrack that blends classic game sounds with haunting piano and guitar.
West of Loathing- Honorable mentions: Jazzpunk
Back in the working day, flash adventure games were awesome. They might not have been the most graphically impressive, but they more than made up for it with sharp humour and chuckles-a-plenty.
West of Loathing is like the best flash comedy-RPG you’ve ever played- full of silly jokes, clever puzzles, and a simple combat system that’s fun without doing anything too fancy. Every area across the stick-figure Wild West has the potential for chuckles, and- like the best cowboy gunslingers- the jokes reached more than they miss.
What Remains of Edith Finch- Honorable mentions: The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Gone Home
Modern narrative adventure games- sometimes pejoratively referred to as” walking simulators”- can often prioritise style over substance and start to crumble under their own pretence. What Remains of Edith Finch however, is a exceptional journey through the lives of the Finch family, as told through a series of varied and delightful vignettes.
One minute you’re exploring the eerie rooms of the Finch household, then you’re flying through the air as an owl, or swimming as a shark in the ocean. The narrative is still at the center of its own experience, but the new levels of interactivity and inventive storytelling that developer Giant Sparrow has managed to craft into What Remains of Edith Finch make it a real standout.
World of Tanks- Honorable mentions: World of Warships
A former VG24/ 7 editor once called World of Tanks ” niche” on Twitter and was wailed at for days. The competitive online shooter has a huge and devoted playerbase from all over the world, because, it is about to change, the desire to get in a tank and blow up someone else’s tank is quite universal.
If you get really into it, World of Tanks can be incredibly expensive. There’s a massive variety of premium tanks available for buy, and its premium model in general is particularly aggressive. However, the glacial firing rates of your hulking war machines make for something truly unique in the online shooter space, forcing players to stance themselves strategically and overcome foes tactically rather than with brute force.
On PC, the piece de resistance is World of Tanks’ recent 1.0 update. By some miracle Wargaming kept the same minimum requirements while entirely overhauling the game’s graphics engine to bring it in line with current gen gaming. You can run World of Tanks on a potato too, so it’s good for those of us that aren’t blessed with infinite coffers.
World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth- Honorable mentions: Guild Wars 2
There’s life in the old girl yet. While it might not be at its pre-Cataclysm peak, World of Warcraft continues to be played by millions of subscribers around the globe.
Endlessly imitated, WoW streamlined and standardised the blueprint for a modern MMO with its rich lore, differed action-RPG gameplay and deep roster of high-level and endgame activities. As a new player, the sheer quantity of content to slog through is a daunting proposition- especially when you’re forking out $15 a month for the privilege- but there’s a reason this game is venerated above all others.
The upcoming expansion, World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth, introduces four new races to the mix, raises the level cap to 120, as well as adding a host of new dungeons and raids including the golden city of Atal’Dazar.
XCOM 2- Honorable mentions: Templar Battleforce
PC has always been the home of turn-based tactics, and there are few games out there that do the genre better than XCOM 2. Set 20 years after the first XCOM reboot, Enemy Unknown, XCOM 2 freshens up the formula with a higher tempo to the gameplay and new mechanics like the concealing phase, which lets you carry out covert missions while you remain undetected.
XCOM 2 is a tough game, and it can feel a little capricious when your highly-trained super soldiers miss their target from point blank range, but it’s that moreish difficulty that keeps you coming back for time and again.
Your soldiers are vastly customisable, so it’s great fun to give your squad their own panache and personality- or recreate your favourite characters from other games. The only drawback is that it’s all the more heartbreaking when their head is inevitably squished by a hostile foreigner.
Battlefield 5- honest mention
The latest title from DICE assures us return to WW2 for some truly innovative and exciting FPS action. While items like the Union Jack gas mask might be a bit tone deaf, Battlefield 5 captures the camaraderie described by those who survived through the war, whilst giving you a taste of the horrors that would have ensued on the battlefield. War is hell, after all.
You can play the single-player War Stories that take you across different theatres of war or leap straight-out into its multiplayer, with an emphasis on tactics and positioning over twitch skills and a keen focus on team-playing and support classes.

Hello! The Nerdarchy crew is back home from Indianapolis and back to work on all our nerdy projects. Gen Con 2018 was an incredible experience for Nerdarchists Dave and Ted, Nerditor Doug and Intern Jake, and we wanted to share some of the highlights from our excursion to the Best Four Days in Gaming. Our favorite thing about conventions is meeting up with and hanging out with friends from all over the place; seeing all the awesome roleplaying games, art and other swag; and the incredible costumes and cosplay. But more than anything, the best part is hanging out with thousands of fantastic folks from around the world to celebrate nerd culture. Down below you’ll find links to a lot of the stuff mentioned in this recap, in case you’re interested, plus a photo gallery of our adventures at Gen Con 2018.

Rolling into downtown Indianapolis for Gen Con 2018 was a special treat for all of the Nerdarchy crew in attendance. For Nerdarchist Dave and me, the now-familiar territory felt like a home-away-from-home. The Indiana Convention Center, Lucas Oil Stadium, the Gen Con Block Party and all the surrounding hotels were decked out as always, ready for the tens of thousands of us to enjoy the Best Four Days in Gaming. For Nerdarchist Ted and Intern Jake, it was their first time attending so they got to experience the wide-eyed amazement at the size and scope of the event.
After hotel check-in, the crew wasted no time getting down to business though — we were there to enjoy ourselves, sure, but we had serious work to do. With the studio equipment in tow, we set up a makeshift studio in the hotel room to shoot as many videos as we could over the weekend. With so many amazing people in town, we had to get some of them on camera. Intern Jake scheduled set visits like a champ, contacting and coordinating a ton of creators who stopped by to talk nerdy with Nerdarchists Dave and Ted.
Instead of doing interview-style shoots though, we produced a string of videos like our regular daily content to discuss the same kind of helpful topics, tips and tricks we usually do, except with a special guest sitting in for one of the Nerdarchists. Stuff like designing monsters for D&D, live streaming roleplaying games, creating pantheons and deities, running the best game ever, and creating an urban campaign (with a bit of insight into the upcoming Waterdeep: Dragon Heist) are just a few of a videos you’ll see in the coming weeks. There were so many guests, it’s hard to remember them all! But here’s a few to watch for on the Nerdarchy YouTube channel in the near future:
Keith Baker
Monte Cook
BJ Hensley
Ryan Schapels
Dan Dillon
James J. Haeck
Sarah Dahlinger
Brian Stillman
Andrew Armstrong
Rob McCreary
All in all we shot about 24 videos between Thursday and Sunday! There’s a bunch more cool people who swung by the set and we’ll be posting those videos in the weeks to come. Stay tuned to Nerdarchy for those!
Hanging with friends new and old to celebrate nerd culture
Pretty much everywhere we went, the crew ran into someone we knew and had great experiences spending time with them. If you enjoyed any of the official video content from Gen Con 2018, you can give thanks to our buddy Bill Allen. He and his crew handled videography for the official Gen Con Twitch channel. Bill was super busy all weekend making sure everything ran smoothly. But we managed to sneak in some time with him on Wednesday night. He’s an awesome guy, and his job as an educator means he brings student creators along to learn while doing. How cool is that? His students get fantastic experience behind the scenes at big events like this, plus chances to network with industry professionals and help build their future in the field.
Along with Bill, we hung out with our friend Cody Lewis from the Taking 20 YouTube channel. Cody was there with his wife, who got to see another side to her husband’s endeavors. Fans of Cody’s work stopped to say hi and thank him throughout the weekend, which is an awesome feeling for any creator. On top of all that, his wife played her first RPG session at Gen Con 2018! She played a barbarian in a Second Edition Pathfinder Playtest game and genuinely loved rolling her first critical hit against a kobold.
Another night, unMadeGaming’s Mike Hunt co-organized a Twitch streamer meetup with fellow streamer Speedy, where a whole bunch of people showed up to celebrate together and get to know one another. Andrew Armstrong from Dawnforgedcast, Grant Ellis, MsGingaNinja, Jorphdan, Askren, Ted from Nerd Immersion, Eric Vulgaris, and a whole bunch of other people hung out. It wasn’t just for Twitch streamers exclusively, or even gamers. There were streamers who make pottery, streamers who make quilts, authors, game designers and more. It was really terrific to meet and spend time with so many creative people.
On Saturday night, Nerdarchist Dave and I wound up at a party hosted by Peter Adkinson. There were a ton of people at the shindig. Our friends Satine Phoenix and Ruty Rutenberg were there, Kyle Vogt, Matthew Lillard, Dwarven Forge founder Stefan Pokorny, Ivan van Norman, filmmaker friends Kelley Slagle and Seth Polansky and a throng of others. I had a wonderful time geeking out about layout design and editing with Chris de la Rosa from Hunters Books, and Nerdarchist Dave did what he does best — making new friends and talking shop. (Okay, maybe tied for best — he’s a pretty good Game Master too!)
Nerdarchists Dave and Ted ran into a ton of people they know on the convention floor, and fans stopped for photos or to say thanks to the guys for doing what they do. So may awesome people we know had booths at Gen Con 2018 too! Everytime we turned around, there was someone we knew. Creature Curations’ Brian Colin, the entire Starcalled Studios crew, Jetpack 7’s Aaron and Sarah Hubrich, Dan Dillon and Stephen Rowe manning the Kobold Press booth, Rone Barton at the booth for…you know what? I don’t recall exactly. There was a bunch of different stuff there.
A very special sighting for me was Jared Sorensen at the Burning Wheel booth. I’d been hoping to catch Adam Koebel there, since he was sharing the booth with his Dungeon World RPG. He wasn’t around, and as I turned the corner I caught sight of an indie RPG called Lacuna Part 1: The Creation of the Mystery and the Girl from Blue City. I literally exclaimed “Holy $**t!” when I saw it. Years ago, after I saw the film Inception, I immediately felt like I had to find an RPG similar to the world of the movie. I discovered Lacuna Part 1 while searching for such a game. It’s a really terrific RPG where you travel into dream worlds looking for anomalies and insidious thought-creatures. The guy at the booth asked me how I knew the game and I was gushing about it before realizing he was the creator, Jared Sorensen! This was one of my most fond convention memories right away. Jared was super cool and we talked about games for a while, and he gave me a sticker and patch of his game company logo, Memento Mori.
Lauren Erwin (@ThatSaltyGinger on Twitter) and Nerditor Doug, two original members of the Iron Dabbers.
Oh! And I ran into D&D party fam! Late one night heading back to the hotel I spotted Lauren Erwin in the hall. She is an original member of the Iron Dabbers, a D&D party from the live stream Secrets of Castle Greyhawk game I play in every Thursday on The Greyhawk Channel on Twitch. It was super cool to see her. I love that campaign and although Lauren wasn’t able to continue (she’s a busy lady!) she’ll always be an OG member of the crew and I am happy to call her a friend.
And we got to see the premiere of Eye of the Beholder: The Art of Dungeons & Dragons! Nerdarchist Dave and I were among the first people anywhere in the world to see this phenomenal documentary by our friends Brian Stillman, Seth Polansky and Kelley Slagle. IT IS AWESOME. If you have ever played D&D, you will love this movie. They traced the history of D&D art back to the beginning and talked with dozens and dozens of artists whose iconic work has been bringing the game to life for over 40 years. And I’m not the only one who thinks this film is the most — it won the Gen Con Film Festival award for best documentary.
All of this only scratches the surface of everything and everyone we saw at Gen Con 2018!
Awesome RPGs and other stuff
For me and Nerdarchist Ted, filling out bags with new games, minis and other swag is one of our favorite convention activities. I don’t have a complete rundown of Nerdarchist Ted’s haul, but I know for sure he got a whole slew of minis. On top of his own gets, many creators donated items to add to the Nerdarchy giveaway vault. Make sure to check out the Saturday Quests & Adventures live chats on the Nerdarchy YouTube channel and stay informed about these giveaways. We do them all the time so there’s lots of chances to get all sorts of great stuff.
This year I tried to be a little more conservative with my purchases. Usually I come home with twice as much luggage as I arrive with, but I reigned it in a bit for Gen Con 2018.
For starters, I picked up two Kickstarters I backed. Masters and Minions from Jetpack 7 and Kids on Bikes deluxe edition with the Powered Character Deck are two things I couldn’t wait to get my hands on. The PDF versions were sent out already, but there’s something special about having the physical books in hand for any RPG product. Masters and Minions is gorgeous. No surprise there, as the artwork in Jetpack 7 stuff is always top notch. The book is packed with detailed NPC creatures and the forces serving them, featuring design work from Aaron Hubrich, Jim Pinto, David Adams and one of my favorite creators, Dan Dillon. I’ve been waiting to get my hands on this one particularly to check out Grissek’k The Orc Queen, which does not disappoint. My other favorite master and minion combo is The Created. Check out this book if you like fleshed out villains for your Fifth Edition games!
Kids on Bikes is another one I hotly anticipated. Anyone who knows me knows I’m one of those D&D nerds who is comfortable using those rules for all sorts of genres beyond fantasy. So beyond the D&D ruleset, my favorite sorts of RPGs are modern-era (or close to it) games featuring regular folks in extraordinary circumstances. Kids on Bikes is all about regular people confronted with irregular situations like the supernatural, along with a group-controlled character who has special powers. It’s a toss up between this and Tales from the Loop for the one I like the best. But if I’m honest, after reading through them both I might take a bit from column A and a bit from column B. Kids on Bikes contains a ton of awesome ideas for creating characters and group dynamics, making it a valuable resource for roleplaying games in general.
Outbreak: Undead Second Edition from Hunters Entertainment and Renegade Game Studios is the other RPG I added to my collection. Truth be told, I didn’t know anything about it but the book is slick, and after flipping through it looks like a suggested style of play is taking the players themselves as characters and imagining a zombie apocalypse in your own hometown. Told you I like those sorts of games 😉 What really sold me though is the layout and design of the book. It has a lot of cool thematic and artistic elements making it fun to look and read through. And guess what? The person who wrote it and contributed to graphic design and layout is Chris de la Rosa — the guy I would wind up talking with the next day at that Peter Adkinson party!
On the same whim I picked up Arboretum, a tabletop game by Dan Cassar. Never heard of it, didn’t demo it but got it nevertheless. Why? The art intrigues me. The cover has a big purple tree and a multitude of colorful symbols around it, and the back shows the various card types, also trees of various colors. The goal of the game is to “create carefully planned paths for your visitors to walk as they take in the colorful explosion of buds and leaves.” Doesn’t that sound wonderful? It’s a competitive game, but with all the players competing to create something beautiful, it sounds like a delightful way to spend 30 minutes.
One game I did demo was the Final Fantasy Trading Card Game. I loves me some Final Fantasy, so I had to try it out. It’s really fun! Cards feature all the characters you’d imagine like Cloud, Lightning, Squall, Tidus, Yuna, Garland, Sephiroth and pretty much every character from all the games including Dissidia, Tactics and more. It was easy to understand and pick up, but of course like any card game there’s deeper strategies to discover. I got two decks so I’d have enough to play with friends, one featuring Lightning and the other Cloud. Also, I got a free Kain card for doing the demo. Dragoon FTW! On a side note, it just struck me while at Gen Con that many FF protagonists are named after atmospheric conditions. Derp.
I also came home with two Atmar’s Cardography dungeon decks from Brian Colin/Creature Curations. These are really special to me, because I was part of the team that brought them to life! Brian is an amazing person, and I did some editing work on the project. These are very cool products, basically huge dungeons with a room on each card. You can play through the whole thing following a preconstructed pattern, or follow small mini-dungeon setups, or just deal out rooms randomly as you go. There’s one for the Fiery Pits, a volcanic dungeon, and another for the Icy Divide, a frozen labyrinth. PDF guidebooks are available for both Fifth Edition and Fate. The adventures are designed to take place in Brian’s World of Revilo, a fantasy realm he created with his son while telling bedtime stories. It’s really amazing. Coming up, he’ll be launching a Kickstarter for three more sets as well. While at the booth, some passersby stopped to take a look and since the booth attendant was occupied, I explained the decks to the two people who came by. The attendant made their way over and commended my on the salesmanship. (I’m pretty familiar with them!) Also I got to meet Isaac Skaggs in person, another creator on the team.
Of course, I had to get myself some dice because…dice. It’s a tradition for me at any convention. For Gen Con 2018 I went with Elder Dice: Astral Elder Sign. They’re pretty snazzy and come in a spell book box you can use for a dice tray. Hopefully I’ll be able to snag a Yellow Sign of Hastur set at some point too. I missed the Kickstarter for them but maybe with a little eldritch luck things will pan out.
The last two things I picked up are both pieces of art. The first was a print from Voidbug, an illustrator who had an awesome selection of vibrant, ethereal art. Choosing one from everything she had to offer was tough, but I’m more than happy with the one I got and can’t wait to hang it up in the office. The second piece of art was one of Chris Seaman’s Cameo Creeps. Chris is a phenomenal artist who’s done a bunch of work for D&D, Magic: The Gathering and other games. One of my favorite pieces of D&D art is by him, the tiefling Star Pact warlock from fourth edition D&D. His Cameo Creeps are tiny monster paintings inside cameo frames. There’s a ton of them, making this choice even harder than my Voidbug print. In the end I went with Lady Wanda Glubberneck. She’s got an aquatic look reminiscent of sahuagin, one of my favorite D&D monsters that I’d been talking with someone about earlier that day.
Best part of Gen Con 2018
All parties, get-togethers, events, games and fun new stuff aside, there’s one thing about Gen Con that’s better than all of it combined. Being a nerd and enjoying this culture with so many others is absolutely priceless. By and large, the nerdy community is supportive of one another, encouraging, and welcoming. When we invite others to our games or accept invitations to theirs, we’re making new friends and connecting with new people. They might look different, or see the world different, live vastly different lifestyles or whatever. But overwhelmingly, one similarity is despite any of these differences we can all come together to share these fun and often deeply personal experiences. You can always find a fellow nerd to remind you that you can do anything you set your mind to, you can be you — the best you — and that’s a great thing. Maybe I have rose-tinted glasses on a bit, but I know there’s a heck of a lot more good out there than bad, and my fellow nerds do a fantastic job of showing it.
Round up and wrap up
Here’s a bunch of links to check out some of the stuff I mentioned above. And I also want to know about you! Did you go to Gen Con 2018 and have some awesome stories to share? THANK YOU SO MUCH, I’m ugly crying on the inside right now. I’m really so glad you liked the art, seriously this means a lot to me TYSM <3
I like how Hisoka turned out too :D I have a hard time looking at him though because WOW that’s way too much trash for once piece of paper
Be glad that I sent you the sassy Saiko, because I also drew a crying Saiko calling for Maman. I decided not to be a troll for once though ^^
I couldn’t do justice to OG Musical Maria though. She’s gorgeous…
That picture of Roy will be my legacy.
(as for the tiny dab, that is also Saiko in case the pic was too small for you to tell XD funny thing is that I wasn’t even intending to have that slip in when I took the picture. I drew a tiny, mouth-and-nose-less ‘I am not impressed’ Urie face next to it too but guess that didn’t make it in haha LOL
I'm actually sorta obsessed with drawing tiny, dabbing figures right now because I just discovered an easy way to draw dabs and…well. It’s fun?)
AWW tysm! Tbh though I get the struggle. I hated all paints for the longest time because I also had no idea how to use brushes and control the amount of water I used and ended up with shapeless blobs or super runny pics (also I’ve never actually learned how to paint or draw…a couple of short lessons when I was really little, a month(?) of lessons around last year or the year before, that’s pretty much it. So idk how to do things really lol). But I sorta-recently got obsessed with watercolor paintings (SO PRETTY) and that’s why I started ‘practicing’ (AKA watching/reading a bunch of tutorials and trying my best to remember the few things I actually learned XD). I still can’t draw stuff just with watercolors though, I need to do a light pencil sketch and then color with paint.
OK that sounds so cool but problem: My phone is a super old flip phone that I’ve had since I was eight(?), so mobile games are a no XD and my parents probably wouldn’t buy me anything that costs money (they let me play simple free RP games and dating games on the internet since those are usually fairly innocent (I mean, it’s plot/character-based stuff, almost like a manga) but not anything too 'big’ you know? If I was old enough to buy games like that with my own money I don’t think they’d care tho, as long as I didn’t get obsessed with games or anything.)
Also just realized that I’m stupid and apparently forgot that I don’t have Steam. I was going to install it but can I ask you exactly what it is/how it works, first? I’m just kinda worried about randomly installing this since I don’t quite get it yet ^^;; (sorry I can be really, really stupid when it comes to stuff like this)
THAT’S SO CUTE. Let me recommend you a game too- a free RPG/Dating game called Ascension by ImpQueen! No download, you just go to ImpQueen and play it. There are three(?) chapters. The first chapter might not be that interesting compared to other games, but the game and the story keep getting more complex as you go on :D you also get new dateable characters every chapter and the MC, Aida, is AWESOME. Also, in chapter two and three you can actually customize the main cast’s appearances, like you’d do in a dress-up game! Another cool thing is that you get different 'personality points' depending on the things you say/do, and the amount of points you have for a certain personality can change the outcomes of certain situations.
It’s also really fun because other than the romance, the plot and Aida’s journey is super interesting too.
Do you know I’ve been reading some Ishida tweets lately and look at this (yes these are all real)
Fan: Excuse me, is it ok if I ask what major you chose at university?
Ishida: I have studied worthless knowledge in University.
Fan: Please take good care of yourself and eat well! (I think that’s what they said? It was in Japanese so)
Ishida: I ate some tomatoes!
Fan: How do you draw Arima, sensei? It’s so hard to draw him ;-;
Ishida: Sadistic & Massive. I keep that in my mind.
Fan: I love you please marry me
Ishida: Sure! When is convenient for you?
Fan: Be sure to rest when you need to, sensei…
Ishida: I don’t wanna rest
Fan: HOW DID AMON’S EYEBROWS GET LIKE THAT PLEASE I MUST KNOW SENSEI
Ishida: It’s natural, you know.
Fan with a picture of a cartoon skeleton for their profile pic: Will we ever learn what happened to Hide, sensei? Also, thank you for the sequel :) I love TG
Ishida: Well, I’m not sure…by the way, you are so skinny. Thank you!
Also, dude reads Shoujo manga. He tortures us with Touken, Kanae, Tsukiyama/Kaneki, Saiko/Urie…and then he goes and posts fanart he drew of a Shoujo manga he was reading and says that he’s sad it’s over omg
0////0
I’d probably never want to leave that flask HOW COULD A TINY INSIGNIFICANT HUMAN DEFEAT ME SO EASILY NOOO
*sigh* I didn’t raise you to be like this…
(I just got the funniest/weirdest idea though: So Evans is like Luna’s mom in this relationship, Riza is Roy’s mom. Imagine what would happen when Roy/Luna got to the 'meeting the parents’ stage in their relationship)
Mei’s version of subtle-
Mei: Mr. Scar, Evans thinks you have pretty eyes.
Scar:
Scar: What
(basically catastrophe. And I would never have actually said that…Luna probably told Mei to say that I said something nice about him and that’s what the kid came up with OTL)
Well, he became a criminal in Civil War so not a big surprise really ;-;
For a second I thought that pic was you
Wow, that’s great! Bet it looks amazing on the queen <3333
Funny thing is I thought I liked physical contact (like cuddling, hugging, hand-holding) but turns out that’s not the case XD I get super awkward when anyone who’s not my mom, dad, or my little sister/younger cousin touches me. Tbh the only person I feel comfortable with cuddling anytime, anywhere is my little sister because she’s still smol LOL
It’s definitely weird when people who aren’t that close with you try to hug you though. The only thing that can make it worse is if they gush about what a good, sweet child you are while doing it XD
(btw, I sent you a message about the TG Re Volume 12 omake; did it get eaten?)
((EDIT AFTER NEW CHAP OF TG: WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUU NO URIE NO N O)) Feel free to send more art anytime! I’ll always be glad to see it ^^
Is he really that bad? I mean, I’ve seen some memes, but didn’t think he was that trashy XD
Oh wow, thank you for that :P Who knows, maybe I would’ve broken my computer screen, because end the suffering already.
Dabbing Saiko, best Saiko. I assumed it was her because of the hair, but wasn’t 100% sure. Isn’t that Urie’s default face, tho. I mean, when is that man impressed? He does show emotion when he’s  trying to comfort someone, but that doesn’t happen very often.  *stares at that paragraph* *dabs aggressively*
Ah, that’s what makes it even more impressive! I mean, we had art in elementary school, but it was mostly the ‘learn stuff yourself’ kind of art. Needles to say, I didn’t learn a lot. But watercolours really are a nice way of painting, since they can have really vibrant colours, yet be serene at the same time. Most people I know who draw, watercolour or not, use sketches and references, so I don’t see anything wrong with that ^^ Just take your time to learn what you want ^^
Oh, I see! So, free, computer games for you… Well, right now, CP is the only one I can think of, but I’ll discover more in the future and share them with you when I do ^^ The only paid games I play are on my phone, since I’m too shy to ask my parents to but me otome games… I have 0 problems playing them on my own, but not a lot of people know that I play them.
Right, steam.  It’s a gaming platform. Technically, it’s an app for the computer on which you can download games that are available in the steam store. Some are free, some are paid.
Tumblr media
This is how the page looks. The little green button in the upper left corner is to download the app itself, and you’ll also need to create an account.  You’ll need to give an email, but it’s only for account verification and to send you bills if you decide to buy anything. However, if you don’t buy anything, the email will mostly be useless after the verification. I mean, I don’t remember getting a spam email from them at all.  After that, just go to the search bar, type Cinderella Phenomenon. And press play the game! It should automatically download the game to the steam app and you’re good to play ^^  No worries about asking questions! It’s actually admirable how you’re so careful around the internet ^^
Oh, I’ve actually played that before! I could never finish chapter 3, though… For some reason, it keeps glitching at one scene making me unable to continue further =3= It was quite fun to play! I just don’t remember most of it anymore, since it’s been a while since i’ve played ^^;;;
Ishida summarised my high school experience so far in a single tweet, only it’s about University XD
Wow. That’s so mean of him XD Seriously Ishida, why you gotta torture us so much??? (I just noticed my computer stopped auto-correcting Ishida, I think it finally learned I wanted to type it)
Muhahahahaha I’ve contained the legendary dwarf!!! Now she won’t be able to convince a whole nation to commit collective suicide because their leader is a naive idiot!!
The two of you just talk about how randomly childish the two of us can get at times XD I think you’d get along pretty well with Riza, though. I mean, she’s a nice person, who knows what it’s like to be scared, so she’d be fine with taking lead of the conversation.
Scar isn’t sure if it’s Mei’s idea of a prank or not, but he’d be slightly disappointed if it was cause he kindawantedEvanstothinkhiseyesarenice but nope he’s in denial.
From that day on, Luna learns that if she wants to get the two awkward dorks together, she’ll have to take things into her own hands. Probably goes something like this:
Luna: Evans, are you free at 5pm this Friday? Evans: Yeah, why? Luna: Scar, are you free at 5pm this Friday? Scar: Aha Luna: Great, because I’m not! Have fun you two!
My sweet sunshine child cap T^T
Aah, no, my hair i shorter than that ^^;;; Also, I look younger than I am OTL
I think it’s more of the ‘I like physical contact if I know the person and am close enough to them’ thingy. I mean, I have a few acquaintances who love hugs and I always shrink away from them, but with close friends, U’m sometimes the one who starts hugs. But you might also dislike contact in general, which is also fine, everyone has their own preferences ^^
I did, but I only noticed after I answered your message OTL Well, that’s certainly an interesting ship… Now I slightly ship it…
