Wohooo! Winged Ones has finally launched on Steam! Are you excited? I sure am! Now, before we jump head first into playing, I have a few important things to tell both old and new players! Important Note: 1. For those who have played the game before through lemmasoft or itch.io, some of your progress may be shown in the Steam version due to the persistent data files saved in your computer. You may find that the encyclopedia and CG gallery are pre-filled and your old save files may display. This can be solved by finding any old Nusantara files on your system and deleting them before installing the Steam version. 2. While Steam is still learning about this game, please be patient if there's an error or if the system is not working normally. It should unlock soon and if there's a problem, I will do my best to promptly fix it and post an update on the situation! 3. Winged Ones will hold a 20% off launch discount on Steam! Collected funds will be used for Nusantara: Bermuda Triangle's development. However, Winged Ones will stay true to its free-to-play nature, so I'll also update the game build on itch.io! UPDATE 09/25/2017

Hi guys! What's up?

Me? Aside from a few hiccups, last week was pretty good!

The script have advanced to Month 2 in Chapter 3 part 1 and I have written some small events for the bachelors: - 2 events for Guntur - 1 common event - 2 small events for Kahlil

It won't be long until I get into a critical event at the end of month 2. And did you notice? I filled the quota this time! 5,1k+ words hahah, but it's still too early to celebrate ><

Another good news is that I decided to release last week's competition digital art .psd file as a gift for my $5 patrons.

It uses many simple forms and tricks so I think it's going to be a good material for learning ^,^- it's not everyday we learn how to draw semi-realistic animals, right?

As for bad news...

I got serious nightmares for the last 2 days due to accidentally seeing a gore video at facebook :'( it disturbed my sleep hours and I can't even take a nap! This might affect my writing since the image keeps popping in my head... Ugh, I really hate facebook's feature of automatically playing a video!

There is also one more bad news; as if chewing on my pen tablet is not enough, my pup chewed on my identification card last night! I will have to go from place to place and really, I'd rather spend more time writing.

I really didn't expect my pup to be able to open a wallet... but then again, it's also my fault for underestimating him OTL

UPDATE 09/11/2017

Good morning, guys! I hope you had a wonderful week! I had a bumpy ride last week x_x

So, I had finally finished Queen's Crown's CGs down to the tid bits -we only need to wait for the other artist to be done with their variations since the MC is customize-able.

I also got a rough start with script writing; I wrote around 3700+ words -yup, I know I said that I would try to at least write 5000 words >< but it's in the middle of an 'argumentation/conflict scene' and I spent a lot of my time going back and forth to make sure it's not confusing AND not overwhelming at the same time (quite a lot of info-dump in the Summer area ^^;)

So far, the progress for the first area is around 45%:

Ignore the page count -it's really just the 1,5 spacing + 'Enter' talking x'D This is only the count for Summer area mind you, not the whole script. I divided them by chapters; this is Chapter 3 part 1.

But... I'll be lying if I said I didn't get distracted at all last week (Ack! Mercy!)

It's kinda of a good news though! There's a competition next week on September 17th and the grand prize is a pen tablet. I really hope to win to replace my broken pen tablet, remember?

The theme is Indonesian Animals. I already registered and practiced thrice last week so here's me crossing me fingers ><

*cough* Pssstt -fellow Indonesians, come to the competition if you can! You might catch me there x'D *cough*

Well, now you know what happened last week u.u; pray so I can do better this week, but I think I will be a bit occupied by the competition.

BUT! I'm not done yet! Lastly, I want to promote visual novels made by Indonesians again today!

UPDATE 09/04/2017

Hi guys! Last week passed pretty quickly but I rested plenty!

I slept, relaxed with my pups, read lots of novels I put on hold, and even tried making semi-realism illustrations again, but...

Dang, I'm so rusty ^^;

The concept is about young fox demons (Kitsune in Japanese term), that are practicing to turn into humans. I was only doodling at first, but then it turned serious and now, I'm contemplating about making it a waist-up + making it a Patreon reward sometime later x'D

The only downside I got last week was... I forgot about the Queen's Crown last CG :'))

I'm sorry! ><;;

It honestly escaped my mind and I only realized it now when I read last week's update! *so embarassing!*

I will try to finish it this week, but I will also start writing script little by little now. But! No proofreaders will touch it unless I deemed it 'perfect' enough ><

UPDATE 08/28/2017

Morning, guys! Last week, I was very regretful & grieved about my broken pen tablet :'( I still have my 3rd pen tablet, but still... However, there's something good came out from that too:

- In frustration, I dived head first into work & after 4 days, I managed to finish all 3 backgrounds I have forgotten last week. I was having a difficulty with some texture, but at that time, it somehow turned better than the last ones.

- I used the last 3 days to make 3 new night versions & adjusted other night versions; I lower the saturation + make it darker. I feel that they were too bright to look like it's night :')) Sample is above. I think it's more realistic this way.

Did you know? Not including their variations or illustrations, we have reached 30 backgrounds! x'D

Anyways! With the basic backgrounds finished, I'm planning to use next week as an intermission -or resting period to prepare myself to start writing script. My muse is a fickle thing & I can't predict when I will finish writing -but I will try to at least write 5000 words every week. I can easily exceed it if an inspiration hits me, but it didn't happen often.

I will also use this week to finish the last CG of Queen's Crown so I can dedicate all my focus to the script.

Today, I just want to tell you that this morning, my 2nd pen tablet crossed the rainbow.

My Godf*cking pup, Juno, chewed it.

If I didn't love him so much, I think I would have raged so hard until I flip my f*ckin' table.

I was careless too anyway. Last night, I was tired & forgot to put it in the 'safe place'. I put it slightly away from its usual place and this happened.

The victim also includes a pack of baby tissues (this is not the first time they ate some of it. I just hope it won't get stuck in their stomach/intestines...)

The good news is that I have a spare pen tablet from winning a competition in the past.

UPDATE 08/21/2017

Hi guys! Last week was... hectic to be honest x_x You see, remember when I said I was afraid to forget something last week? Apparently, I DID forget.

At Tuesday, I finished 1 CG line art for Queen's Crown & 1 background line art for Bermuda. Then, in the mid-process of finishing the line arts, I suddenly remembered... I forgot about 4 backgrounds!! 2 of them are bedrooms (1 easy, 1 hard) while the other 2 is for special events (1 medium, 1 hard).

I panicked & when I panic, I usually can't do anything right. Resulting in me procrastinating until August, 17th; which is Indonesia's Independence Day. Me & my family joined some competition to celebrate this so I momentarily forgot again about those 4 backgrounds.

At August, 18th, I was quite depressed & I honestly forgot it was my birthday until my Mom reminded me in the morning :')) *I don't know whether to laugh or cry about this*

In the weekends, I steeled myself. I managed to finish 1 bedroom background (the easy one) with its variation of Day & Night version & 1 other background (the medium one).

Hopefully, I can finish the last 3 backgrounds within 10 days before August ends T_T

I think I got a bit stressed these days because I got out of my comfort zone & made lots of rock texture/buildings the last couple of weeks. At worst, I think I will finish those backgrounds at the first week of September u.u;

Ahh, I hope I can fight off this bad habit of me procrastinating everytime I panic/if things doesn't get along with my schedule!

Last but not least, the .psd file of Tamara's semi-realism digital art is now available in my Patreon!

UPDATE 08/14/2017

Hi guys! Last week I had a pretty good progress!

- I finished 3 backgrounds (1 of them is a variation of the other background), but to be honest, I'm not quite... satisfied with 2 of them ^^; You see, they're all buildings background & my skill at drawing/coloring buildings is not up to par with my forest/natural backgrounds.

They ended up a bit more gloomier than I expected u.u; -but I will do my best to upgrade them!

- Other than those, I also finished 1 Queen's Crown CG! 1 more & I'll be finished with it! *happy dance*

I will still be making backgrounds this week, I still have 1 more to do. Hmm... I hope I didn't forget something x_x;

Last but not least, I'm keeping the sneak peeks for later, but I'm planning to release the .psd file of this illustration for my $10 patrons next week!

Hi guys! To be straight; last week's progress was pretty standard ><

- Revised + Finished 2 backgrounds for Spring Village area 3 (Area 2 is still WIP + in planning)

I usually finish 1 background in 2-3 days so... yup, pretty standard.

As promised, here is our last Superbacker OC sneak peek!

Let's give Hototo a warm welcome! The left image is Aubrey's sketch & the right one is how he look like in-game <3

He is a Dryad and his occupation is a Bard. In Bermuda, Dryads could be born in 2 ways; when a tree learned how to 'feel' OR when a soul dwelled on a tree for a long time without turning into evil spirits (they usually have some kind of regret/attachment & unable to move on). Hototo is one of the latter.

His caretaker was a young human boy who unfortunately fell from a tree that had been planted near him. It was both the music his caretaker played as well as the despair from his death that brought him to life. He took up the boy’s instrument as well as the boy’s dream itself and while he is not yet much of a player, he works hard to get better.

Last but not least... I want to give special thanks to my close friend, Angelina Setiani or AlleriaKim (her nickname in her facebook fanpage), who has passed away last week from steven-johnson syndrome... She is a very talented artist who supported me, listened, & shared my grief/happiness thorough our journey as young artists from college until now. She will be dearly missed... Her departure was very sudden & unexpected...

*sigh*... All I can say is, treasure your friends 'cause you don't know when God will call them back to His side. Your time together is very precious & believe me, you won't know how much they mean to you until you've lost them... I wish I could meet her & chat at least once more...

UPDATE 07/31/2017

Hey guys! Last week was... tiring >< both mentally & physically -I was trying to start exercising & increase my stamina by joining a dog lover community. We went out at early mornings & walk our pups around a big park. Coupled with my daily tasks & drawing, I ended up exhausted & got a light fever + scratchy throat the next day for talking too much ^^;

Sheesh, I guess this is what I get for sitting in front of my laptop too much x_x; my stamina is horrendous! ...At least it's a start, right?

But nevertheless, I finished the job! - Finished 2 minor character sprites + 1 alternative costume sprite - Revised character designs again - Collecting background references - Finished 2 silhouettes + 1 WIP silhouette (I think I will need references to make them easily recognised ><)

I'm happy to announce that we reached this month's goal; I finished the basic character sprites for the SuperBackers & all the minor-important characters!

The total is 2 SuperBacker OCs & 9 minor-important characters!

I hope I didn't forget anything O_O; Hmm... oh well, if I forget anything, I'll tell you immediately!

Next month, I'm planning to focus on finishing the basic backgrounds, especially the ones for Spring Village. At the same time, I will also taking notes & polishing the story line little by little. Recently, I played a VN which I had high hopes, but the ending sucks & it left a bitter after taste :S I won't tell what VN, but I really don't want Bermuda to be like that so yup, gonna polish it as best as I could.

I have to say that Nusantara is my all time favorite visual novel. It makes me really sad that there isn't enough fanart for the game! No fan fiction either 😭

I know that programming with Ren'Py is not as complicated as it may sound, but did you ever learn Python programming or studied it alone?

The only programming I ever learnt is Ren’Py x’D is it the same with Python? I’m a very simple minded person so I can’t differentiate between those two... (or maybe I’m just too afraid to touch another form of programming since it took me a long time just to learn Ren’Py)

Unfortunate I can't support you on indiegogo(for weird reasons) but if/when your game makes it to steam I'll totally buy it! I loved the legend of the winged ones and hope that this next game will be just as fantastic!!!

Thank you anon! I also hope I can get them into steam, but ever since Greenlight retired & we have to pay $100 for each game submission, I’m afraid the chance is getting slimmer & slimmer :’S But let’s just hope for the best!

Hi guys! I'm happy to say that this week's progress is better than last week's! The only downside is my internet is down again & I have to borrow my mom's wifi for today's updates x_x - Revised last week's character designs. - Finished 3 minor important character sprites. - 1 WIP minor important character sprite (Applied basic color + tidied the line art). - Made 1 very rought minor important character sprite sketch. Tbh, I'm a little stuck with this character's clothes design... - 2 silhouettes are finished! (1 creature, 1 minor character) - Finished 1 Queen's Crown's CG (2 left and I'll be finished working on their CGs x'D) I hope I can finish the minor important character sprites at the end of this month since I plan to focus on finishing basic backgrounds next month. Anyways, as promised, above is the SuperBacker's OC full view! Here is Livia's OC (Her name is Livia not Olivia, sorry for the typo ><)! Her name is Damaris and she's a female Satyr; one of the new races that is going to be introduced in game :D Her occupation is a White Mage, but she focused more on medicines than magic spells. Her passion is to study herbs and her lifetime goal is to develop a book covering medical issues that various species on the island face due to their unique physiology. You will know more about her later in game ;) Today, I will also show a background that appears in the winter area for my patrons. UPDATE 07/17/2017

Today is the lucky 777! I hope you guys get lucky sometime this week and smile more :'3

Last week is... adequate? Hmm, I'm not sure about this one since I spent a lot of time revising character designs + making line arts ><

- Finished 2nd SuperBacker's character basic sprite (I think I might tweak him again later when I notice something that can be improved/small details) - Finished 1 minor-important character sprite. This one is complicated and Jesus, I spent a lot of time revising on him -a lot more than the others. I still need to tweak him a bit, but I think I will leave him for awhile until my eyes refreshed :'D they're becoming dull from staring at him for too long. - 2 minor- important character sprites WIPs (line arts are finished + basic coloring, only needs to shade them) - 1 very rough character sprite sketch is still going to be revised & polished later.

I don't know about other artists, but believe it or not, I spent more time making line arts than coloring them :')) this is true for CG/BG/Character Sprites with small details. This is why I like to make forest/nature backgrounds lol -'cause they don't need line arts! x'D

But I'll be lying if I didn't say that the progress is a little slow because I binged-read some novels... *cough*

Anyways! The SuperBackers' character sprites are well on their journey to finish line! I still have some minor-important character sprites to do though. Curious? Welp, here's today's sneak peek! x'D

Happy Monday! I'm here again! x'D

A small revision about yesterday, we have 91 indiegogo backers AND 16 paypal backers! Sorry I forgot to write it down ><

Now without further ado, here's what I did last week: - Finished 1 SuperBacker character sprite - 1 background WIP (40%) - 2 character sprite WIPs (50% and 40%) - 3 very rough character sprite sketch

I have to say that last week's harvest is poor u.u; so here's what happened:

When I was resting from post-cold, I stumbled upon a website >> novelupdates.com. They translate chinese, korean, & japanese novels and then hell break loose when I got addicted reading them :'))

First, I catch up with a novel titled 'Meow Meow Meow' about a cat got reincarnated into a thousand year old cat demon in another universe. The next day, I struggled with a background texture -I made another mistake when I found another novel called 'The Demonic King Chases His Wife' in my resting time T^T

This is an old habit of mine -I can't stop reading once I got immersed in them OTL please forgive me. The chinese novels are so refreshing once you understand their alternate worlds >< I beseech you NOT to go to that website if you have lots of work to do... once you go in, there's no way out T_T

I somehow managed to catch up to the newest chapters last week... but heck, this might affect future updates too. Pray so I don't give in to temptation u.u;

Anyways! Enough ranting, here's what I promised last week!

I wonder if he's too dark or still too fluffy O.O; I revised him once, but I think I will do some small adjusting later?

Meanwhile, my patrons today will get to see what texture I'm struggling with today.

I'm sorry that my old habit acting up again, but I think my avid-reader disease will clear up sometime this week or next week ^^; until then I hope you guys will forgive the lack of results T^T
