Victoria Beckham.
Posh Spice has changed her tune (pun intended) and oh my goodness I think she can sing now. You have hit the high note, girl. Loose fits, FLATS (!!!!!!) and masculinity meets the clean lines that we love her for.

Cavalli drew inspiration from a Country & Western born-and-bred Palm Reader that has a small stall in a dodgy mall. Said Palm Reader may or may not live off incense and Tarot Card stir fries. A beautiful collection exhibiting a genie in a Disney movie.

Thankyou Ports 1961, my childhood dream will come true and I can be an actual banana in pajamas outside of Halloween holidays.

Viv Westwood
I can call her Viv because I saw her on her bike in London outside Liberty. That entitles friendship status. Viv’s RTW SS17 is a lot more wearable than past creations. Lots of culottes that give way for starter, main & dessert.

Runway v Realway  NYFW is in procession and I have been engaged in online observing of runway shows. Penetrating my eyeballs over what beautiful clothing has been made over these past months to present to the fashion world for SS17.
Eliciting Zimmermann’s extremely feminine, elegant and dollishly child-like collection I thought to myself I can’t wait to see somebody wear that with the stamp of their personality and own it. Subsequently came this notion that veritably I have more of an appetite for street style and will omit runway-following this season. Granted that highly-paid stylists work hard to make the designers’ creations look fashionable & wearable as a marketing stratagem and each one of those pieces is meticulously planned on the right model, at the right sequence throughout the collection along to the right beat of the music and pieced together with an outfit to make it look exactly right to fit the brand. However, I opt to wait and see it taken on by someone else’s style and personality. What do you prefer? The stylised outfits for marketing purposes or the street style when each piece is taken by a personality, paired with favourites from their wardrobe and made unique?

Welcome sweet Spring.....  This week I have been trying to pull those items from my wardrobe that I love but never wear. The items that I thought I would wear every day and would be free cost-per-wear but are in fact collecting dust.
Note: stripy crop top. Purchased in the sale as is 90% of my wardrobe because why pay full price when you can wait and buy out of season clothing with 70% discount? Huh? You have an answer for me?  Paired with vintage Lee denim shorts purchased from a local vintage store here in Surfers Paradise. Accessorised with $3 jelly shoes and a $6 necklace from the hippy shop beside the post office I mentioned in an earlier post.

Hot. Cold. Windy. Hot. Sweating. Cool breeze. Hot. Freezing.
An abundance of fashion and cool people does not really exist here on the Gold Coast. My vigilance for any inkling of individuality has grown and I am appreciating more and more anybody who is not wearing Billabong or a tight, short & bust-showing dress with 17 inch heels. (Disclaimer: the heel height may or may not be an exaggeration.)
Even more confusing is the weather currently making fashion choices more interesting. On one side of the road is somebody in a bikini enjoying all the UV rays this beautiful coast has to offer. Turn your head 180 degrees to the left you have somebody wearing jeans accompanied by closed-toe shoes, a jacket, a scarf and on occasion a head-hugger, also known as a hat.
My fashion appointment over any tight, bust-showing dresses is comfort and layering. (Nothing to do with the fact I don’t have a bust to show off.) Airy clothes with lots of space to eat that huge portion of fish & chips are embraced. And so is born my spring outfit. Perfect for the food baby. And even better for the kind-of-cold-but-sometimes-super-hot spring climate we are experiencing.
Cream denim crops from H&M keep my butt warm, whilst this light and comfortable silk kaftan from the hippy shop beside the post office keeps me cool in the erratic, wavering, afternoon sun. Sandals from Schuh, purchased nearly 10 years ago and still my favourites.

MY OUTNET WISHLIST
You know that wish list we all make and never actually buy? As per the circulating meme there are several steps to fashion-lusting;
1. Add everything to your cart  2. Check your basket  3. Laugh at the total 4. Close the tab
I think the meme may say step 5 is to never think about it again. Not true. I continue to mentally mull over said items until rent day comes and I know for sure I cannot afford even half of the bikini set I want.

Bentonite clay. My number one DIY product.
When I have a really important meeting and nice clean teeth are a necessity, which is never but let’s not dwell on the negative, I like to use 1/2 bentonite clay 1/2 activated charcoal. Supposing that this doesn’t give you pearly whites you should just give up on life. Kidding of course!!!
Moreover, for those important meetings that do not exist, I need glowing skin. Welcome my favourite ever face mask. Mix some bentonite clay with rose water into a paste of your desired consistency. Voila. A star is born. Administer a plethora of that shit on your visage and décolletage for 10 mins (or however long it takes you to do dishes, make your bed, cut your toenails) and wash off.
STEP IN TO A STEAMY SHOWER WITH THIS STUFF ON AND YOU WILL EMERGE LIKE THE SUPERMODEL OF YOUR CHOICE.*
*this has not been clinically tested or proven but is solely based on personal feelings.

Dear Agony Aunt of the world,
Last week I packed my bags and set off for the beaches of the Gold Coast, Australia. Forsaking my friends, family and comforts and my boyfriend becoming my onliest on-site support.
I have been travelling since 2012 and now its time to put down roots. Do the inevitable of starting to build a career and everything that comes parallel.
The every day pressure of others around me asking what I’m going to do for work or career-wise; or is it self-made pressure? Either way, I want to succeed, I want to be successful and I want all this working in the fashion industry. My dream has always been to work in a fashion magazine or start my own business. Maybe both! Whilst this may be utterly out-of-reach right now or may it happen not at 24 but 44 I know I have something to work towards.
Curve ball.
Limited opportunities to get into fashion makes this very frustrating. Unemployment is going up here on the GC. My visa hinders me, not being an Australian resident hinders me, having no contacts hinders me (it’s all about who you know not what you know, right?!) Recently, word of mouth told me that there are some companies that only hire Australian residents. Isn’t this illegal? And totally annoying!
Everyone talks about work. Build a career. Save money. Buy a house. But how can anybody starting out build a career when a) there are no jobs and b) you need experience for every vacancy. Employers take note; without giving the opportunity nobody can get the experience you’re after. Capiche?!
Job hunting takes patience, resilience and confidence. With a mountain of resumes in-hand I walk around the nearby suburbs to find employment. I embark with butterflies, feeling anxious; its origin is unknown but I suffer embarrassment asking for vacancies so personally, not only is this a job-hunting exercise but also courage-building. Doesn’t this fact alone warrant even a part time job?
Yes, yes, I know; I could start something for myself. However, living requires money and in account of money coming conjointly with working a job would be enormously esteemed!
Yours Kindly, Frustrated-Fashion-Lover-1991

If you can’t handle the heat, get out of the kitchen.
I'm a freak for kitchen utensils, or pretty crockery or good quality knives or wooden chopping boards.  I love to cook. I love to create. Food brings people together. I have a friend who described a party as 'shit' (very technical term, use a dictionary if you're not sure of the meaning) and the reason was because the food offerings were meagre and unexciting. Point proven?
Additionally, I have a less-than-part-time job so gold is destitute. The solution:  Op Shops.
Best. Invention. Ever.
Are they even deemed an invention? Albert Einstein could never have created anything so worldly wonderful. Anyway… over the last week I have collected a caboodle of wares. I've gone a little Op Shop crazy. Or a lot.
Is 'Op Shop' the Aussie term? (I'm living in Australia right now if you hadn't already guessed from my previous post.) Op Shop is a charity shop, a second hand shop, an RSPCA funding shop, a thrift store…you get the point. And they too have sales. "SALES?! In a charity shop?!" I hear you scream. Yes, 50% off (at time of going to press.)
Yesterday I bought two new delicious bowls perfect for laksa, soup, ramen, cereal, fruit. The possibilities are endless. How much? $3
On Wednesday I bought a grill, an iron, two wine glasses, a garlic press and an old glass jar. $15
A citrus juicer, a cooking pot and a glass casserole dish were purchased. $4
See where I'm going with this? And all for a good cause. Happy op-shopping guys and gals.
