Birthday boy wanted a yellow cake with chocolate icing so that’s what he gets! I finally outsmarted my curse and made an extra layer for this cake because of his cakes are the only ones I usually mess up! 🤣 Maybe it’s the pressure to make it perfect? 🌟 Princess Peach Showtime! drops tomorrow and I’m so excited! Peach was my first alternative to being Luigi forever as the younger sibling. 🤣 I tried to make some Princess Peach color themed cookies real quick to mark the occasion. I’m sure with her patisserie level I will be making more treats from the game soon! In the meantime, “let’s go!” 🌸👑

Today is the day Taylor Swift Eras Tour starts streaming! Woohoo! A while back I tried out her recipe for chai cookies (the last image on this post has her recipe). I will say they are a bit greasy, but tasty! I’m a big chai fan already so they were a nice snack to have with some black tea I had around the house. Not hard to make and I’d recommend a go to at least try them. Happy Eras Tour day, y’all!

Cacio e pepe is probably the simplest pasta dish you can make. Some nice grated pecorino romano to pull the noodles together and voila! Tasty lunch!

Happy Lunar New Year! I revisited the snowskin mooncakes with custard filling but in dragon form! It is the year of the dragon this year and it’s been neat seeing everyone’s beautiful designs! I hope everyone has a happy safe new year!

When R. E. Carr asks you for bumblebear cookies, you make the bumblebear cookies. It was fun trying to decorate these with royal icing as it is definitely not my strong suit. But let me tell you. These German honey gingerbread cookies were delicious! A new favorite in this household. I really can’t wait to see what adventures Xenia bakes herself into in R. E. Carr‘s future book! I’m gonna be 1st in line. (Bonus: If you keep scrolling through the pictures you’ll see the original test cookie. It’s…unique. 🤣)

I have been waiting all year for @sumocitrus to be back in the stores and now we have a giant bag of them! Entering for a chance at the contest they are running, but also if you haven’t had them, these are the best oranges I’ve ever had. Try em if you haven’t! Here is a @sumocitrus Japanese cream cake I baked at home! I may have also made a little orange syrup to put on each layer of chiffon cake. 🤤🍊

It’s the season of getting sick, but what’s better than homemade chicken noodle soup? A couple weeks ago I decided to try and roast my first chicken which came out delicious! Gathered the meat and then used the bones for a mirepoix. Classic and perfect for cold drizzly day.

“Started making it. Had a breakdown, bon appetit.” Sometimes bakes don’t go the way you want them to. My chiffon swiss roll deflated and broke while rolling and I covered it as best I could with whipped cream. I did have to take a few minutes to breathe from a random panic attack and then continued to salvage the best I could. But I had a lovely Christmas tea and one of my favorite people to enjoy with. The healing power of friendship. 🩷

Merry Christmas Eve! A variety of cookies including miso sesame cookies, Grinch cookies, pecan caramel squares, spritz Christmas trees, and a German honey gingerbread cookie in the shape of a bumble bear. “Buddy the Elf, what’s your favorite color?!” That’s right! Get your Buddy the Elf breakfast here! It was not as bad as I thought it would be, but my brain wanted it to taste like jjajangmyeon in the end. Progression shots to really show you how to make this Christmas meal. Oh boy.

Recipe: Boil a handful of spaghetti, pour chocolate syrup of choice over top with a handful of marshmallows and candies. Add one hand crushed fudge #popart and mix it all up. Bam! All the major food groups for elves! 🎄

I love holiday cooking! Starting off December with some waffles and coffee for breakfast! I also got the Dash multiplate mini maker from my brother! He picked it up at Costco in case you were looking for it! Got Home Alone on and I’m ready for baking. 🎄

I forgot to take pictures at home, but mum has requested Korean cream cake for her birthdays! Snagged a quick pic before we devoured it. 🎂 Honestly, this might be my favorite cake now too! Yum yum!
