This makes me sad
The quotes in this article that lobby against A. fulvescens’ potential endangered status sound as though they are referring to objects, not living, feeling creatures.
I know that sturgeon have been an important food fish for centuries but how much of the fishing going on in these states is for sport? It just feels like another painful iteration of comfort and profit being placed over equity. But idk I guess sturgeons aren’t people even if I love them as much as people

I have been so depressed lately I haven’t been able to post any sturgeons but I saw this on the Great Lakes aquarium Instagram his name is CRACKERS he is a BELUGA STURGEON they are TARGET TRAINING HIM so that he can eventually enter a sling comfortably to get his checkups!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
