Meet the Toxicologist! More details below the cut!

The Toxicologist is a Support Class and the third of my tenth class OCs (both in terms of when I came up with him and the order of posting them on here)! He’s a rather mild, easygoing young man with a love for experimenting with poisons and taking naps!

His hypothetical gameplay would be similar in nature to Medic in the sense that his gameplay is very much pure support rather than offense or defence leaning. However, unlike Medic, his main goal is to go around and use his poison gas gun in order to not only debuff and cause chip damage to the enemy team, but to also buff his own team as well!

Toxi is a rather laid back and free spirited young man. He typically marches to the beat of his own drum and hates being bound by convention. Though, that often extends to doing rather bizarre things, such as testing his own poisons on himself for the fun of it and to feed his own innate curiosity.

Due to his relaxed nature, he just tends to go with the flow and not take most things too seriously (both to the delight and chagrin of his co workers, depending on who you ask). Though, when it’s needed most, he will pull himself and get serious. However, doing such always leaves him quite exhausted afterwards.

Toxi’s most notable quirk, aside from willingly using himself as his own test subject, is how sleepy he always seems to be. He always seems to be waking up and falling asleep at rather strange hours, to the point where he’d sleep an entire day if you let him. This has often lead to his teammates finding him taking naps in rather odd places, ranging from on top of the fridge, to underneath the dining table, to even on the battlefield!

Toxi’s real name is Tsukiya Ito and he’s originally from Kyoto, Japan. That being said, he actually doesn’t like talking all that much about his life there before he joined RED/BLU as a mercenary. If anyone tries to ask him something about his life there that’s a bit too personal for his taste, he’ll more than likely laugh it off before changing the subject.

Meet the Hunter! Details about her below the cut!

Hunter is the second of my TF2 tenth class OCs that I’ve posted about on here and was actually the first one I thought up! (For anyone curious, Watchdog was the fourth and last one thought up. My hypothetical gameplay idea for her is that she’d have two main features: trapping and tracking.

Trapping would involve Hunter setting down various types of traps in order to harm the opposing team, as well help out her teammates (ex. Setting a trap behind a Sniper to make it so Spies can’t get within backstabbing range without harming themselves in some way). As her emblem implies, this includes bear traps, which would be apart of her hypothetical stock loadout, but you’d be able to switch between having a couple different ones at a time.

Tracking, on the other hand, would, as the name implies, allow you to track down enemies. This includes being able to track the position of enemies, as well as being able to figure out the location of multiple enemies, so long as you stand still while doing it. Or at least that’s what my rough idea is.

Hunter can initially come off as somewhat of an ice queen type. She’s generally aloof and keeps to herself, tends to be on the quieter side, and occasionally can come off as being a bit of a bitch. Though, while she is a bit icy at times, this is mostly just the result of her not having the greatest social skills, having a strong work ethic where she values professionalism highly, and a bad case of resting bitch face. Deep down, she’s quite a loyal woman who always do her best to get the job done (even if she often rolls her eyes at her co worker’s antics).

Her real name is Sarah Shepherd and she was born and raised on a sheep farm in the middle of Ohio, where she lived with her grandparents, as well as her older brother. Now, Ohio is a rather peculiar place. While the state government insists that there’s really just a lot of cornfields, among a few other things, this is a blatant lie as to not scare off tourists. Ohio happens to be filled with all sorts of cryptids, critters, and creatures that go bump in the night. No one is exactly sure why, other than one tale about someone pissing off an all powerful witch one morning by cutting in front of her in line at the bakery and then buying the last of her favourite pastry, to which she decided to get petty revenge by cursing the entire state of Ohio to forever be haunted by vicious monsters.

So, creatures like that have been around long enough that the people living in Ohio just see them as a mundane part of life. That being said, they’re still prone to being problematic every now and then. So, when she became old enough to help her grandfather and brother out on the farm, one of the things she was taught how to do was how to use a gun to get rid of any unwanted visitors who may want to prey upon their livestock. After all, having an eight foot tall carnivores nightmare moth creature or lumbering, grotesque frog people try to pick up fresh lamb chops at your farm for their weekend barbecue isn’t exactly great for business.

So, Sarah quickly learned how to defend her family’s sheep from all these critters, whether it be by scaring them off with a few shots or, in the case of particularly stubborn or hungry individuals, shoot them down (which would usually end up being turned into dinner later on). This, alongside the fact that hunting was a very big thing in their family, helped to turn Sarah into quite the expert hunter. Years later, after her brother ended up inheriting the family business and Sarah had become a young woman, she opted to leave the nest and become a huntswomen for hire, offering her services in tracking, capturing, and/or killing creatures (and soon after extending those services to include humans as well) in exchange for pay.

Thus, Sarah spent the next couple of years doing just that, which in turn helped to turn that expertise into a near mastery of her craft. Eventually, she received a job offer from RED/BLU, offering quite the hefty pay in return for her services. She accepted the job offer and moved to New Mexico, where she now works with her team in the Gravel Wars!

Meet the Watchdog! She’s an offensive class who’s specialty lies in being able to dish out fast, milky damage that can very quickly wrack up, as well as being able to fit through smaller spaces that allow her to gain access to unique vantage points! Or at least that’s my current rough idea of what she’d be able to do. Truthfully, everything is far from set in stone at the moment.

Her real name is Spade and she’s originally from the Northwest Territories, Canada — specifically from somewhere near the outskirts of Yellowknife. She’s a former military dog who was particularly talented at her job. Hearing about this talent she had displayed on the battlefield, after Spade had been dismissed from duty, she was “adopted” by RED/BLU so she could be brought to America in order to fight in the Gravel Wars for them! There’s a bit more to her story than that, but considering how lengthy my notes on her are, I’ll leave it there for now.

WHOOPS I WAS SO BUSY WITH ARTFIGHT (you can find me there with the link in this post) THAT I FORGOT TO POST STUFF HERE! So, here’s an updated design for my sona, a Kirby OC, and a Monster Hunter OC!

The Kirby OC is named Bella, and she’s a sheep from a planet called Winterstar! However, she’s got a lot of curiosity and a sense of adventure, she decided to leave home to explore the galaxy and maybe even meet a few new friends along the way!! Her best is a Waddle Dee from Popstar named Mechanic Waddle Dee (Mechi for short), though I’ve still gotta get around to designing him and my other two Kirby OCs whoops

As for my MonHun character, her name is Finn “Fish” Bayblood, and she’s my MH3U hunter! She’s a Human/Wyverian hybrid (which in my personal headcanons, are technically possible to naturally have, but because of how different their genetics are, they’re so rare to come across to the point where most people don’t know they exist and are unlikely to meet one in their lifetime, let alone one that’s healthy enough to make it to adulthood). Because of her mixed heritage, she never felt like she totally fit into most human nor Wyverian communities. However, after getting into trouble with the Guild after due to an incident caused by her trying to cover up for her dear friend, Holly, in order to keep her deep dark secret from getting out, she’s sent off to Moga Village, where she finally manages to find a sense of community and belonging there. She’s gotta a lot more backstory to her besides that, but that’s probably enough for now (though, if you wanna hear more, feel free to ask me more about her, or any of my characters for that matter)

Anyways, these three (and Holly as well) are all up on AF, so if you like their designs, feel free to go attack them. I try to revenge everyone to the best of my abilities, so I’ll try to make sure you get stuff in return too!

To the artists out there who use moodboards as inspiration for their art (specifically for character design)

Could y’all please help a fellow artist out by explaining your process when looking at a moodboard and turning it into a design? Like, how to you turn things that are in the moodboard into a character (other than yoinking colours from the moodboard itself)?
