Ao3 Summary:  [Semi-AU] “They say that seeing a lone magpie is a bad omen.” – In the midst of his third year, Izuku has started getting glimpses of what he discovers must be his past lives. Past lives that seem to be inexplicably linked to Uraraka’s. As his dreams grow more frequent, he realises that there is one common thread that links them together: they always end with a death. He’s got one thing going for him that none of the others did, however. He’s a hero and he’s going to find a way to prevent history for repeating itself.

[Semi-AU] Being born quirkless in this modern hero society, when Izuku wants nothing more than to save people, seems like it is nothing short of a curse. That’s because it is. Izuku is a reincarnation of someone who had angered a powerful yokai 500 years ago, who in turn subjected him to a continuous curse. The exact conditions to breaking the curse are…ambiguous to say the least. Yet, he’s dreamt of his past lives. And he is quite certain that his curse is in relation to Ochako, who is present in every lifetime. While discovering more and more of his history with Ocako’s past selves, he realises that there is certainly a disturbing pattern emerging - one of them always dies saving another. They’ve already saved each other countless times in this life - yet in their line of work there are so many more opportunities to die. They have to discover how to break this curse, before it’s too late.

Uraraka brings him to her village.

She doesn’t reply to his question, rushing him back to get treatment, but he is sure that she’s the one they were sent here to find.

“My name is Izuku Midoriya.” Her back is turned as she prepares more of the medicine she applied to his wound. “I’m from your world - Earth. I came with a U.A expedition team.”

“Earth…haven’t heard that word in years.”

She kneels next to him, gently applying more of the glittering salve to his leg.

“We’re here to bring you home.”

Her smile, somehow, outshines her eyes.

Summary: [AU] Izuku Midoriya is an anthropologist-turned-explorer. He's met many different people on his travels but the encounter he's about to have will be one that he won't be able to forget.

Chapter 01 - Take it Up

He's an explorer.

No, he's an anthropologist but in a world with crystal flowers and animals that feed on them, he's an explorer.

He's also lost, separated from his team when a hostile creature attacked.

And – he studies the blood staining the bandage around his leg – he is not going to last long.

This is undeniably the most captivating world he has portaled to, yet he can't appreciate it.

He hears a crackle to his left.

Head turning, his own eyes meet with those of crystal.

Eyes of pure light. One accompanying a familiar face.

Human.

yall ever think abt the fact that todoroki used his flames to protect iida even though he was rusty and probably still a little unsure about them due to his trauma, but decided in the split seconds he had to think while fighting stain that iida was worth the trouble
