I've lost count of the number of times my partner has asked if I'm okay because I look annoyed or angry. Nah, that's just my face.
Who else here has R.A.F.?

If you used to be a heavy drinker & now you just smoke weed! YOURE DOING GREAT
if you used to smoke weed 24/7 and don’t now, but you just have a few beer or drinks every blue moon, YOURE DOING GREAT
if you were a pill head and now on methadone or subs, YOURE DOING GREAT
if you were a down head or a meth head and now you just smoke weed to cope with the side effects those drugs put on ur body for the rest of your life, YOURE DOING GREAT.
If you went cold turkey on everything all at once and never put a single substance in to your body after that, I’m proud of you! You’re doing great!
We are all just doing the best we fucking can!
don’t ever let someone tell your recovery journey isn’t “considered” recovery!
You got this and I am so so proud of you 💕

Unmasking isn’t always deliberate. Unmasking and being not able to mask can happen for multiple reasons. From burnout, to regression, to autism catatonia. There are multiple reasons why someone wouldn’t have control over their masking ability.
Unmasking isn’t always something someone wants and sometimes it happens beyond their control. Sometimes it happens unwillingly.
Unmasking Isn’t always deliberate, and that needs to be talked about more.

It’s okay to like children shows. It’s okay to like shows you don’t actually understand. It’s okay to like/watch a show for one specific character.
You like what you like, don’t feel ashamed because of that. And don’t let the reason you feel ashamed be because of other people. Don’t let they have that type of say in your life

Guys guys guys when I make posts about autism, I’m speaking ONLY FOR MY OWN AUTISTIC EXPERIENCE AS AN AUTISTIC ADULT OF AN AUTISTIC CHILD. it’s a huge spectrum and no two autistic people have the same experience in this life time. That being said if you relate to my posts great!!! But if you don’t, that is okay! You are still ND AND APART OF THE ND COMMUNITY ALL THE SAME! Your autistic/ adhd/ AuDHD experience might be nothing like mine and that’s okay too! I am just sharing my thoughts and my experiences on this blog. It’s really nothing more than that. I never want to make anyone feel less than or like their experience isn’t valid just cause it’s not the same as mine cause that’s just weird in my opinion and defeats the purpose of celebrating ND Minds.

I wish I was neurotypical sometimes 😡 then I would know all the right things to say,
I wouldn’t be scared to leave my house or make phone calls, or make friends or fear being perceived. Maybe I’d be further along in life hmm just random thoughts but I wonder what life would be like to be normal brained
typical brains just don’t under stand ND brains and I hate it. I feel like a lot of the bigger picture of the things I say is always missed because of something small I said inside that big picture. If that even makes any sense LOL

Idk why I even try so hard to make people feel heard, or listen to their special interests for hours on end, about stuff I don’t care about but I know it matters to them so listen, because that twinkle in their eyes when telling me about what they love is so worth it, but the moment I start talking about anything I’m obsessed with and the person I’m talking to is just staring at their phone the whole time I can take the hint that you want me to shut the fuck up like I have never noticed one person sit in awe while I’m talking about something they don’t care about they would sit in awe because it’s me who’s talking but no I get the opposite experience, they don’t sit in awe when I speak because I’m me.
No one cares what madi has to say cause madi talks none sense all the time.
No one does the same for me

Autism as a kid or teen = resources
Being diagnosed as an adult or self diagnosed at all = not believed. Not taken seriously. “You don’t look autistic I wouldn’t have ever been able to tell”, no resources because never taken seriously.

eveeyones got it wrong your mid 20s arent for going to the club or partying or picking up new crafts. your 20s are for discovering how much more autistic you are than you thought you were in high school

God no. I could never. I never enjoyed them as a teenager I really tried to but I was always the lonely girl in the corner who didn’t know how to interact
questions for people on the autism spectrum, re: clubbing/parties
do you ever go clubbing/to parties?
if so, do you generally enjoy it? do you get overwhelmed?
if you get overwhelmed, does it happen immediately, after a while or do you feel it the next day? and how do you cope?
