I see you this 3rd option and raise you a 4th: Kim gets transferred to the 41st without his Kineema, but Harry does not accept this. Harry marches over to the 57th (with Kim in tow) to *somehow* convince them to let them take the Kineema, as if Harry who crashed his own MC into the sea is somehow an authority on this. Or he just, idk, deduces some secrets of the captain at the 57th and proceeds to *blackmail a captain* into letting Kim have the Kineema transferred to 41. (And Kim would love it, he didn't seem to love the 57th, didn't really like the people there much, and Harry would be getting him his Kineema so he'd be so pleased.)

I should make a game/fanfic of this lol.

ok usually in fics where kim transfers to the 41st, one of two things happen; either his kineema transfers with him or he loses his kineema and receives a new, worse kineema that he hates

i would like to posit a third option. kim loses his kineema in the transfer, comes to the 41st like "ok, i would like my new kineema now", and they say "oh we dont have another kineema for you to have," and he receives instead. a horse

I wish I knew what really happened at ZA/UM. My instinct is to assume greedy frauds pushed out the creators they felt they no longer had a "justified" cost for, but some of the original ZA/UM group are still at the company too. I like to think they, including the primary writer of the communist route which I hear is still working there, would loyaly leave if it was really nothing more than greedy tactics.

Maybe that's just my naivety, but I can't help wondering if something more complicated happened. I smell an untold story here, one about as complicated as these creators are. Nothing about them has ever seemed simple to me. People with active imaginations and lives full of struggle and adventure. What the full story could possibly be, I can't haphazard any guesses without them being complete speculation. The simple story, a greedy takeover, is certainly a possibility and if I had to guess I would assume that probably is *part* of the true story, but my intuition tells me there's something more going on. The curious cat I am, I can't help but wonder.

I feel bad for those who were pushed out, I really hope they at LEAST get credited for their part in the writing of upcoming works, since I'm sure at least some of what they've already contributed, if not a lot, will still be used. And I'm sure they still would have had so much more to offer too, so I can't imagine why they were pushed out even from a greedy perspective, alienating the fanbase and losing some of the great sources for this fictional world's making (not all, but still multiple big contributors), how could that possibly be good for business? I just don't get it.

I can imagine Harry like "Kim I can't stand help!" And Kim is just staring wondering what you're tripping on now because Harry is squatting scooting his shuffling feet back and forth across the floor to go in a circle while hallucinating that he's just sitting and gliding.

Can we take a second to discuss this? I come from a family of mechanics and I gotta ask, how do they use these things without dying????? 1. Thin bicycle wheels are super unstable *and* easy to destroy on a pothole. 2. Giant freaking v12 engine is WAY too much power compared to the vehicle size and assumed weight. (How does the drive train not snap under this much power it looks like it's made of twigs!) 3. High back center of gravity, with any real acceleration or going over any bumps would cause it to wheelie like crazy (they need wheelie bars oml). 4. Wheels up front closer together than the wheels in the back which makes turning unstable and difficult. (And are those like a shopping cart style wheel mounts???? So no bro that's so sketch they either don't turn or break off even if the whole arm moves that's so sketchy.) And quite a few other things honestly. All this combined make it, at any amount of speed or acceleration, wobbly, drifty, it has tons of drag, super unstable, wheelie roll-over monster machines. The only time you could drive it fast-ish at all is if you were going straight on a well-kept flat grippy road with no winds in the area. It's so sketchy bruh at least put super thick drag-strip tires on them. They look amazing but they would kill *everyone*. Honestly mad props to Kim for being able to control these things that's absolutely insane. Literally more dangerous than motorcycles I stg and this man decides he loves one with even more power than normal?! Bro how.

This is really interesting actually, it really puts Elysium into a new perspective for me. Here they are worried about the Pale slowly eating away at their world, which of course they should be concerned about and from their perspective is very worrying! Yet from our perspective, even with that they must have many, many times more space than we do here on Earth. If our dynamic duo can spend an entire week conducting a stereo-investigation into the tiny little corner known as Martinaise, then in comparison to their entire world as they know it, Revachol and all the rest of the isolas as well, there must be so many people, all the sea, so much land, so much world out there to see. Losing it is scary, but they have so much of it to live through yet. More than we do here on Earth anyway, and Earth is, to us, already so large and has so many diverse things to experience. Maybe if we could live on all the planets in our solar system and they all could contain life, maybe then we'd understand. If we could traverse the giant scale of Jupiter and Saturn, their many moons like little isolas, then maybe we could begin to glimpse what they have in Elysium.

I guess Mirova really is a world away. I didn't really get that before, I knew it was a lifetime away, but really, it really is so far too. Everything past Revachol must be such a distance apart, but even just Revachol itself must be so massive. No wonder the RCM are so devoted to it, it's like the connection humans have to Earth itself, it's more than just a home city, it might as well be everything for most of the citizens there. To hear a voice that is as much as all of Revachol really is like speaking to the world itself. "City" as we know the word is such an understatement here.

I thought the wildest Disco Elysium literal worldbuilding fact was that the planet wasn't round. That really threw me for a loop.

Then I started doing Isola research and, nope, wildest worldbuilding is that the city of Revachol is ~20,000 square kilometers (~8,000 square miles), which means it's far far larger then the citystate of Singapore which is ~700 square kilometers (283 sqare miles) and like, that's got to be it, right? No other worldbuilding can top the fact that Revachol, a city, would be the 150th largest country IRL, right?

NOPE! IT'S THAT THE HIGHEST SUMMIT IS CORPUS MUNDI AT 18.9 KILOMETERS (11.7 miles)!! EVEREST IS 8.8 KILOMETERS (5.5 miles)!! YOU CAN FIT TWO EVERESTS IN THIS MOUNTAIN AND HAVE SOME ELBOW ROOM!!!

And like, this isn't a "oh writers are bad at math, they're bad at scale, they didn't realize" BECAUSE THERE'S A LINE IN GAME THAT IT REACHES THE STRATOSPHERE THEY KNOW HOW BIG THIS FUCKER IS THEY JUST WILLINGLY MADE THIS MOUNTAIN THAT HUGE!!! FOR A THROWAWAY LINE I!!!!

My father played Disco Elysium for the first time today. He immediately ran away from his problems, cussing out and flipping off Garte and crashing into a woman in a wheelchair as he did so, ignored just about every question he could ask, told Kim he totally knows what he's doing and has his badge, then cried on the radio begging Precinct 41 to let him go home, tried and failed to punch a child, and when asked why he, knowing he's a police officer, would try to punch a child he responded "but he's a gangbanger child". Then he finally died to morale damage failing to identify some footprints.

He was done with the game after that. Took 30 minutes tops.

I imagine this is what Harry would be like if he still had his memories and just continued his destructive path of failed machismo chaos.

I feel like Kim thinks in first person. That is: I don't think he actually separates his skills in his brain. He still has them, but they don't talk to him like Harry's do, and they wouldn't have distinct appearances. So rather than skill portraits, I think if we were to ever get Kim's POV, his portrait would just change to show which base attribute is being used. Which part of his brain/body he's thinking with. So erm. Yeah. I impulsively did some edits/paint-overs lol.
