Really, though. You know? He looked down on me. He never once listened to me. Blinded by his own ignorance, that's what's wrong with him. Unable to look past his own damned nose.

He thinks he's oh so high and mighty and he doesn't even realise that HE’S A PART OF THE PROBLEM. I was there to HELP. The glorious things we could have accomplished if only HE'D LISTENED TO ME

Ah.. Doc. I understand you're a bit busy at the moment, but I was scrolling though this journal/blog and I noticed you seem to have.. grudges against your family members, may I inquire what happened?

Apologies for the delay. I was... preoccupied. I was never enamoured with the idea of hobbyist survivalism, but let us just say that any inkling that may have existed is firmly dead and gone.

To answer your question at hand (and you may inquire), the short answer is the narrow-minded existence they led, much like a majority of the population. My mother in particular is quite the bleeding heart, and vocal to boot, a trait which my father often cowed to.

I believe that most people, deep down, understand the necessities required to make breakthroughs in the scientific research field. I also believe that most people don't have the gall to actually go ahead with or support those necessities.

To list every instance in which they stymied my growth, curiosity, experimentation, and research would fill a novel.

Oh - actually, perhaps I should do that some day. Though I don't know when I'll ever find the time!

Progress Log 30

Fear not. I'm not dead.

Did you know that there were still far flung corners of the globe where the Metal Virus had not spread? Places that were, mercifully, temperate at this time of year, with fresh water and ample food to forage until one could navigate their way back to civilization?

Well.

Now you know.

Once I had found my way back to a part of the continent that boasted amenities such as 'electricity' and 'indoor plumbing', my next step was to pinpoint my location. My Spagonian homebase was hundreds of miles away, and without the Warp Topaz, I was stranded.

Luckily, this particular little corner of the world hosted a small Egg Base. Abandoned, run down, but with enough resources for me to get back on my feet.

I set to work at once.

Or rather… I will. Once I recover properly. In the meantime, I have plenty of time to think.

There is no vaccine.

Pop quiz, intrepid readers: when the world is rocked by a global pandemic, what is the first move that government bodies and health organisations make after taking the initial preventative measures?

THEY MAKE A BLOODY VACCINE!

AND. And! He had the gall to ask for use of the Warp Topaz! Him! The very man who didn't take the steps to safely control his own bioengineered virus asking to blithely use something twice as dangerous and unpredictable! Absurd!

I am not even disappointed. I feel nothing. I witnessed a battle between two legendary foes, one that I had dreamed of experiencing firsthand since I was a child, and instead of the sheer joy and exhilaration I had imagined, I've gleaned more fulfilment from watching a centrifuge spin.

It has only bolstered my decision to carry out my back-up plans. I cannot trust the help I've enlisted (something I doubt Doctor Eggman would even think to account for), and as such, I've prepared protection for myself and the ship.

It's time I take matters into my own hands. The Doctor is clearly incapable of dealing with the destruction that he's wrought upon the world, and as such has endangered us both. It must fall to me to turn the tides of this infection and regain control. And in the end, I will make him see the error of his ways.

You can all thank me later. If you're still standing, that is.

Didn't feel like rambling in tags so-

I know the first Bumlekast Starline Q&A answered this question (if I remember correctly), but in case it didn't :

I feel like Starline's wardrobe is either :

1. Starline has his own vision for his wardrobe that he doesn't believe anyone else could get right and therefore programs certain Eggpawns to make his outfits, which he designed himself. This can be backed up as we saw an Eggpawn making a sweater in Issue 1 of the Bad Guys mini series.

2. It's some Eggman clothing line because this is Starline we're talking about.

Or 3, which I honestly find the most interesting yet least likely to be canon...

3. On the Bumblekast, Ian Flynn once played around with (key words played around with not canonize) the concept of Honey being Clutch's tailor. Considering Clutch and Starline canonically knew each other, AND despite being a hero, Honey made a business alliance with Breezie (Archie Comics) I wouldn't be surprised if Starline got recommended Honey Clothing by Clutch when he was starting out.

I personally like to imagine that Starline has a specialty tailor and stylist that he goes to to fix his outfits and buy new ones from.

Ain’t no way this fancy boy is buying his clothes from the Sonic world’s equivalent of a Target and calling it a day.
