tumblr's classpect makeup based on recent polls
more stuff under the cut :)
these polls received a total of 1031 votes!
compared to the previous set, the biggest changes were witches, with a decrease of 2.9%, & hope, with an increase of 3.1% (!!)
the most popular classpect was mage of void, and with 21 votes, they made up 2.0% of total respondents. nobody voted for maid of time, muse of life, muse of doom, lord of breath, or lord of mind.
compared to the homestuck character's classpects, mage of heart (meulin) got the most votes at 17, and maid of time (aradia) got the least, with 0, followed closely by thief of life (meenah) and lord of time (caliborn) with 1 vote each.

Let's talk about Cridea and Fiamet's signs!
So, I have a theory about what their true signs are, which will probably be deconfirmed, but I'd like to get my thoughts out just in case. So, pretty much everyone agrees that Fiamet is a limeblood masquerading as a violet. Considering her axolotl theming, for most fans it's pretty much a guarantee that her real sign is Canra, a mindbound sign.
Now, if this is true, this creates an interesting pattern if we consider Dammek and Xefros's aspects. Blood, Rage and Mind are the aspects of the first three trolls introduced in Homestuck, and together with Doom, the fourth aspect introduced through trolls in HS, they make the 4 aspects not covered by the original 8 human kids. Considering that Dammek, Xefros, Fiamet and Cridea are often treated as a quartet and the main trolls of hiveswap, a lot of people expected Cridea to be a Doombound, following that pattern. But here's where the problem comes in: she has a Heartbound aspect on her sprite, Aqualo.
So Cridea breaks the pattern. However, we HAVE seen a character that wears a Doombound violet sign..... Fiamet! The sign Fiamet wears on her shirt is Aquamino.
Fiamet must have someone assisting her in faking her identity, since, considering Violets are basically a mix between an aristocracy class and the 1%, it's probably incredibly hard to fake being one or claim one of their Signs. Unless, of course, you're actually being assisted by one of them. Now, we know Cridea and Fiamet are pretty close, so we can assume that Cridea is the one assisting Fiamet. So where did Fiamet get her shirt from? Could it be that Aquamino, the Doombound sign, is Cridea's real Sign? Could it perhaps be one of her own old shirts that she gave to her? And if that's the case, it'd make sense for Cridea to have to fake her own Sign too, so that there isn't an overlap between the two of them, which would probably lead to questions and suspicions. It's probably really uncommon for a caste with such few numbers as the Violets to share Sign between them, leading Cridea to having to pretend to be a Heartbound.

OH we finally have Act 3 news huh? I might post a theory about Cridea and Fiamet's signs and aspects later, because color me surprised at the actual reveal on their sprites. It might be a bit convoluted and a reach but boy am I filled with thoughts. I'll be tagging it if you're avoiding spoilers!

The Ultimate Classpecting Guide
Have you ever found yourself lost trying to figure out your (or another entity’s) Classpect? Do you wonder what's the way to get the most accurate results? Or where to start? Are you just absolutely baffled by Andrew Hussie’s Hyperflexible Mythology Personality Based Superpower System? Well here are my thoughts as a Homestuck lore aficionado and analyst, on which steps you could follow to figure out your Classpect.
Step one: ASPECTS
Aspects are in general more clear-cut and have much more information on them, they’re the building block of the two-part title, and Classes expand on them later. So here are some of the best ways to figure out your Aspect:
1) Reading about them and deciding yourself.
-Head to this page in the official Extended Zodiac and read the Canonical™ descriptions of the Aspects. This seems to be the most accurate method since no personality test knows you better than you know yourself. Even if this doesn’t help you decide, it at least helps you limits the number of possible Aspects that apply to you. If you read, say, the description of Doom and think to yourself “oh this isn’t me at all”, you’ve already made a step forward.
-If you don’t want to read long-ish paragraphs explaining Aspects, look at this image of condensed keywords and themes. This will most likely help you hone in on 3-4 most possible Aspects, so you can think and read about them later. Remember that Aspects work both literally and metaphorically, and sometimes they can have odd manifestations. Space might be literal Space or creation, but it can also have manifestations such as fashion and art. This is the same for all Aspects.
-Look around what various analysts and fans have to say about them. For example, @homestuckexamination, who has a very good understanding of the themes and symbolism of the comic in general.
2) Taking some tests and quizzes.
-Take a look at my “Extended Aspect Test”. It’s based on the official Aspect test, its questions and its scoring system, but it has been expanded, simplified and tweaked, giving far more accurate results the original. If you feel like your result doesn’t fit perfectly, you will have at least gotten closer in the right position on the Aspect Circle. (Aspects that are right next to each other are meant to be similar, so if you got Void but you feel like it’s not exactly right, maybe consider Aspects like Space and Doom, or even its opposite, Light).
-If you don’t want to take my 32-question-long aspect test, take the original official one. But be warned that because of its small length it is known to give kind of inaccurate results.
3) Ask Classpecting blogs!
Some blogs, like mine and many more, are happy to help explain the Classpect system and even help individuals figure themselves out. Don’t be afraid to send an ask if you have trouble understanding parts of it!
4) Combine all these methods.
If you chose two or three aspects that you know fit you best after reading about it, perhaps taking one of the quizzes will help you clear things out. If you are battling yourself choosing between two aspects, you can send me or other Classpecting blogs asks to help you understand the difference between the two etc.
Step two: CLASS
After you’ve figured out your Aspect, it’s time for you to understand how you interact with it and how it helps you interact with the world, since that’s what a Class is. The methods here are pretty much the same, but with the extra mental task of keeping your Aspect in mind.
1) Reading about them and deciding yourself.
-There are, unfortunately, no official descriptions for Classes, but a good place to start is reading my summary of the Archetype Pairs (Doesn’t include Master Classes), reading homestuckexamination’s analysis of the Classes, or even watching OptimisticDuelist’s videos on the inspiration and symbolism behind them (really meta stuff!). Remember to think about them in relation with your Aspect. Classes function like verbs that define how you interact with your Aspect. A Prince’s verb is “Destroy”, therefore a Prince is someone who “Destroys their Aspect, or Destroys with/through their Aspect”.
2) Taking some tests and quizzes.
-The best and perhaps the only class quiz I’ve ran into so far is homestuckexamination’s class quiz. It’s pretty darn long but it is the most accurate one out there.
And 3) and 4) Combine methods and ask around, like we already established!

I present to you the Extended Aspect test!
Or rather, the Extended Extended Aspect Test. A personality quiz that helps you figure out your Homestuck/SBURB Aspect. It is firmly based on the official Extended Zodiac Test and analysis of canon content. It expands upon the original test through a simiplification of the original questions, multiple new questions, and a very similar but tweaked scoring system based on the Aspect Wheel. It's 32 questions long -good luck and good patience!
(If you could excuse the use of a relatively unkown quiz making site, it was the only one that allowed me to use a point/score based system and offered the level of customizability I needed.)

Hello everyone! This is a new blog I will be using to share my various thoughts about Homestuck and Hiveswap lore, specifically the Class and Aspect system. This is more of a personal well I will be shouting into -no huge essays from me, there’s a great amount of talented theorists and analysts who’ve talked about Homestuck lore in great extent, but I hope I can add something small to it. I will also be answering people’s questions about classpects/Alternia/etc., and I generally love discussion around the issue.
For now there won’t be many posts, and there might be silence for a while, but this blog exists as a Space (haha get it) for me to eventually upload some content.
