NaLu Dynamic #3: The Princess and the Dragon
We have the fan favourite! It's such a classic especially with how well this trope fits with our favourite otp.
Lucy, the sole heir to a whole railroad conglomerate, was probably treated kinda like a princess since birth, and still being called princess by her celestial spirits.
Natsu, literally a dragon. The only thing separating him from dragons is his appearance lol.
Just thinking about how many fics I've read of Lucy trapping herself in a tower on purpose and Natsu being her sole friend and protector makes my whole day <33

Nalu's confession and why it seems so impossible
Okay, I think I understand why Mashima has trouble writing or imagining NaLu's confession, and honestly, it's 100% his fault (obviously).
In the original manga it wasn't so hard for me to imagine it, we all know that Natsu knew how to act in serious situations and when they required a more mature attitude, but in 100yq? It's like Natsu is incapable of being serious for 2 seconds, they always end the scene with a bad joke or write him off as "too dumb to understand anything."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We have witnessed how Natsu is able to read the environment and react accordingly, like when they were going to arrest Jellal and Natsu realized how much it was affecting Erza
Tumblr media
Gray's several su attempts with Ice Shell
Tumblr media
The death of Lucy's father and the death of Eclair and how it affected her and his way of supporting her.
Tumblr media
The way 100yq is written is vague and messy, the characters act like idiots and any progress they have had as characters has disappeared (Natsu the most obvious one).
Until they fix his character, even I, a Nalu fan at heart, find it difficult to see a confession in the current state of the manga. We may get lucky and get some progress with the Ignia arc (which I think would be the most logical one to use to make their relationship progress), but it's highly unlikely to be a serious development.
In my opinion, the perfect moment in which Nalu would have become canon was when the Dragon Slayers fell from the sky and Natsu ended up on top of Lucy saying that "he was home", Lucy should have been brave and kissed him at that moment but noooo.
Mashima should't have started so many proyects and focused is his supposedly "favorite work", just saying. No one likes a "rushed" story.

redesigning star dresses part 2!
part 1
notes and individuals are below!
virgo ~
Tumblr media
- really wanted to step away from that sexy maid aesthetic. my goal was to mix maid with a princess silhouette to reference virgo’s nickname for lucy.
- so i added elements of cinderella’s look like the side fabrics, choker and longer dress.
- using just black is so boring so i brought in some pink and chose to instead use greys
- so many lucy dresses have pigtails so changing the hair also has a more practical element because it’s pulled away.
~ scorpio
Tumblr media
- I actually love the og scorpio dress. It’s so different to all the other looks and so easy to distinguish that it’s scorpio.
- i wanted to play into a trackstar / athlete look just so it has an aesthetic that stands out. i also used shapes found in scorpios tail and neck frill in her armour and top.
- i absolutely love the new hair, i wanted it to resemble a scorpion tails! Also just was bored by the normal head band and u know what why not do a cutest bow.
~ sagittarius
Tumblr media
- my least fav og dress is is sag. the colour, the lack of shade range and the outfit is just…. yer not cute.
- so i was inspired by more fantasy archers and sag’s colours are screaming cool earthy ranger.
- i think the final result much better resembles sag in the colours and aesthetic.
~ capricorn
Tumblr media
- this luxus bad girl moment and i love it. The og one is pretty good but i wanted to fully push it more.
- there’s strands of hair coming out of her bun to resemble horns and belt to resemble a tail.
- the og design is too black so i went with a darker purple to stand out. I didn’t want virgo and capricorns to look like a matching set.
~ aquarius
Tumblr media
- there was a lot of pressure to do aquarius well because it’s significant star dress, a fan favourite and my own star sign!
- i leaned more in the mermaid aesthetic by using more fin silhouettes and pearl detailing
- i wanted to make it more practical so a more supported bikini and mini skirt under the fin like fabric.
~ full set
Tumblr media
i’m so super proud of these designs and i’ve actually seen an improvement in my art. Maybe in the future i’ll do a piece with all of them or do yukinos dresses so lmk if ur into that.
if ur looked this far ty so much for reading all my notes xxx

I don't think Natsu believes NaLu is official.
But i do think that he thinks they have some sort of situationship going on lol. Or some kind of courting stage atleast.
Because we've pretty much all agreed in the Nalu fandom that Natsu is not as dense as we all thought and he does have ideas of what romance is and how his relationship with Lucy is special compared to the other people in his life.
I think Natsu is lowkey courting Lucy and she just misinterprets his advances.
Thoughts?

NaLu Dynamic #2: Heaven and Hell
Lucy being a goddess that summons heavenly bodies and Natsu being the king of the demons in the underworld????
And I am absolutely obsessed when fic authors make Lucy's pet name for Natsu as angel because PLEASE THAT IS ADORABLE
And Natsu lowkey bringing out Lucy's devious side sometimes 🔥🔥🔥

NaLu dynamic #1: Never sleeps vs. Sleeps everywhere
Natsu can sleep anywhere at the drop of a hat but Lucy is the type to stay up all night to finish a book but still somehow be able to be a morning person???

Current State of NaLu:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The new 100YQ chapter just reaffirms the current theory of Natsu thinking him and Lucy are dating without asking her or knowing that she doesn't think the same 😭.
NaLu was never "will they, won't they", it's "when will they (realize that they're totally not on the same page about their relationship despite having mutual feelings because one is thinking about marriage while the other is convinced her feelings are unrequited)"
Anyways I'm free from exams so I'll have free time!!! I'll try to improve my art lol. Toodles—!

I am a solo indie dev trying to overcome my anxiety and actually let people know my game exists. It is a cute physics based game where you are the level.
I love making this game with passion and I am so excited to share it with the world, but somehow I need to let the world know. Unfortunately the way steam works is the more wishlists the more visibility, so if you are interested it is super appreciated :)

To say that Lucy has always been a bit on the forgetful side is a bit of an understatement. She swears by post-its and calendars like they are her own personal religion. More often than not you'll find her arms covered in reminders and to-do-lists and unflattering doodles - the latter a courtesy of Happy, who seemed to have created an entire set of game rules around stealing the various pens she always carries on her person. Natsu the traitor finds it absolutely hilarious. Lucy not so much.
(Or so she pretended, never able to quite hide her smile. The truth is that while the two had been gone her skin had felt terribly and achingly bare, no matter how many lists and ideas she scribbled on them. She even tried adding her own little pictures, on a particularly lonely night, but it only served to make her feel even more alone. She'll never tell them, but when Happy left a stupid (and very inaccurate) little caricature of her likeness just above her left elbow - the first doodle he'd done since their return - she'd ran to the bathroom to just. Cry. Sob. Hug herself and try to temember that this is real this is happening they are back everything is fine again-)
Her mother used to tease her about it. "You'd forget your own head if it wasn't attached to your shoulders", she'd laugh, squeezing Lucy's cheeks until she became a giggling mess, flaying her arms around in a futile attempt to stop her. Aquarius was always much less playful with her own reprimands, a mean smirk on her lips and a tilt to her head that just screamed of derision. It made her happy anyways. Especially after her mother died. It meant that someone still noticed. It meant that someone still cared.
And father....well. Lucy always thought that she must have inherited this particular personality trait from him. He was very good at forgetting that he had a daughter.
It never used to bother her, this forgetfulness. After all, why should it? She'd always had Virgo to politely remind her of her appointments. And whenever she lost something, her mother always seemed to magically be able to find it. (Her various books assured her that this particular superpower was very common among mothers).
Lucy started to lose things on purpose after she died.
Pens, pencils, jewelry. Nothing was safe if it was within reach of her tiny fingers. She'd take the knick knacks and leave them in increasingly obscure places, desperately forcing herself to forget the locations immediately after hiding them (and thus naturally being unable to think about anything else. Have you ever tried to actively not think about something? It's pretty much impossible. Especially if your brain isn't even fully developed yet.)
She isn't sure why she did it. Maybe it was because, when Aquarius got annoyed enough, she would open her own gates from the spirit world just to scream at her to "stop being a stupid brat". And while these scoldings lacked the warmth her mother's had always had, it was still better than this suffocating nothingness that seemed to permeate the entire estate. Maybe she did it because it felt wrong to own so many objects when she herself felt so hollow inside. Maybe it was because sometimes she could almost hear her mother's voice in her mind, teasing and laughing and painfully bright.
(Or maybe it was because a small childish part of her - the one that devoured romantic fantasies like there was no tomorrow and still expected her father to answer when she knocked on his door - hoped that her mother would claw her way out of her own grave just so she could find Lucy's favorite glitter pen for her. "Don't cry" she'd coo, gently running her fingers through Lucy's hair. "It's been right in front of you all along, you silly goose" she'd laugh, taking the chewed up sparkly pen from a desk Lucy had already thoroughly searched three separate times. And Lucy wouldn't even be annoyed about it, or demand her mother tell her how she did it. She'd simply hug her tight and never let go.)
=
(When it finally registered in her brain, the blade had already been mere milimeters away from her left eyeball. And so she prayed that, for once, may her forgetfulness work in her favour. She did not want this to be the last thing she ever saw. More than that, she didn't want to remember this as the last thing she'd ever gotten to see.
Not Natsu. Not Happy. Not Ezra or Gray or Levy. Not her guild, her family. Just a sharp blade and the hateful sadist holding)
=
Lucy started hating her forgetfulness two weeks after her mother's funeral. She knows the exact date because that was also when she started her first diary.
She'd been laying in bed, fiddling with the necklace that had once been her mother's. This is what the Heartfilia home had become, without her mother's presence to brighten everything: Lucy locking herself away in her room; Father locking himself away in his office; Both trying not to think about how Layla Heartfilia had been bedridden for the last days of her life.
She'd been trying to discern the constellations she and her mother had painted on her ceiling - a rather difficult task when everything is so blurry. How she had climbed on her mother's shoulders to reach- except. She never would've managed such fine and precise lines, right? Not at her age, pudgy hands and always tripping over her own feet. Except that....when had that been again? It feels like the constellations have been here since forever, even though she knows that can't be true. So when-?
She didn't remember.
Her mother was dead - gone forever. And she was already forgetting.
That was the thought that finally made her tears fall. Her first diary entry was incredibly ugly: her own words barely recognizable due to her trembling hands, the ink blotchy and blurry wherever her tears landed on the page.
=
(Her second prayer was a plea to remember. She didn't want to allow Dimaria to leave a mark in her brain, so she closed her eyes - as long as she still had the luxury to do so. The world turned dark, and she tried desperately to remember. Tried to remember the exact shade of Natsu's hair, how it used to look in the warm light of the old guildhall. Tried to remember how her keys gleamed when held against the sunlight. How majestic Ezra looked when holding a sword.
But all she heard was Dimaria's mocking laugh. All she could remember was how it had taken her less than a month to start to forget her mother.)
=
She never stopped.
Every day without fail Lucy would write at least one page about her day. If nothing of note happened - which was more often than not, with living in what basically amounted to a ghost house - she'd rack her brain until she came up with something. Sometimes she would describe the leaves of her favorite tree, how they blow in the wind and change colors. Sometimes she would invent elaborate conversations between the different ants trying to steal her sweets. (Speto used to kill them, but then Lucy started hysterically crying and insisted upon a proper funeral, so any murderous tendencies died down pretty quickly.) Sometimes she would sit by the little pond and describe all the exciting adventures Aquarius, Aqua, Aquarier, Aqui and Aquo were surely having below the water. (Aquarius, Aqua, Aquarier, Aqui and Aquo were the koi fish living in the pond. The names had been meant as an homage to the spirit at first: Lucy just couldn't look at a body of water and not think about the moody mermaid. When she discovered that Aquarius (the celestial one) was not the biggest fan it only spurred her on further. She wasn't strong enough to summon her on her own, yet, so she had to take every chance she got).
She loved the feeling of accomplishment that came over her when she actually managed to fill her notebook, so it didn't take long for her to buy a new one. And another, because surely it wouldn't take that long to fill this one either. And another, because it just looked so so pretty. And another, because maybe she could have a separate notebook for her fictional stories?
After a while it stopped being about remembering, and started being about the writing itself.
The more time Lucy had, the more books she devoured, the more inspired she felt to write her own. So that was what she did. She bought a new pen: one that wrote in a beautiful turquoise colour. Sometimes she would stop reading her book in the middle of the page, desperately scrambling for her notebook to write down a new idea before it could flee her brain again. Lucy may not have friends or family or freedom, but when she was reading a book she could pretend, and that was basically the same thing.
Until it wasn't enough anymore.
The thought haunts her. Would she have found the courage to become her own person if her mother hadn't died? Would she have ever joined Fairy Tail? (On bad days she thinks that that is a price she would gladly pay again. On even worse days she thinks the exchange wasn't worth it.)
=
(Lucy pretended to be unconscious, hanging limply in Natsu's arms. Hearing the frantic beat of his heart, her head gently pressed against his chest.
"WENDY!"
She felt the words more than she heard them, even though Natsu was shouting. Shouting loud enough to tear at his vocal chords, to create a sound that was painful to listen to.
She wonders if it is true what they say: that your other senses get better to compensate. Because she thinks she had been able to discern every single layer of desperation and grief hidden in Natsu's voice, in a way she had never been able to before. She swears she had been able to hear Wendy's rapidly approaching steps. Or maybe that had just been Natsu's erratic heartbeat.
Ba Bump Ba Bump Ba Bump Ba Bump
To say that Lucy had been pretending to be out cold would perhaps be a little bit misleading. Because when she tried to raise her head, to reassure the small dragonslayer that she was if not okay at least alive, she found she couldn't. Her body felt like it belonged to somebody else. Her mouth was filled with blood - or maybe the stench was just so strong she could literally taste it. So really, it would be more accurate to say that she was unable to notify anyone of her consciousness.
After all, she didn't have any eyes that she could open. Not anymore.)
=
Lucy didn't think of her diaries then. Of course not. Her mind was too busy processing shock and horror and fear and grief to be able to grasp a single coherent thought.
No, the thought only came to her after it was all over. Bandages on her face, soft gloves on her fingers after she gave in to the urge to scratch her wounds one too many times. No risk of death anymore. No chance to get her sight back, either.
She had a trick, you see. A habit she'd developed while still living in the Heartfilia manor and she'd made extensively use of in those awful first few days after Natsu and Happy left and the guild disbanded. Something she reserved for the really really bad days. When everything felt pointless and miserable and she couldn't bring herself to believe in a better future.
In those days she'd reread her old diary entries.
She lost count of how often she revisited the page describing her first blossom-viewing festival. How often she'd traced the hearts past-her had used to dot the 'i's. Feeling so ridiculously silly, but a good kind of silly.
"What's wrong?" Natsu. Of course. Voice filled with too many emotions for her exhausted brain to parse through. He'd always seemed to have a sixth sense when it came to her moods.
"I can't- I can't read anymore."
Oh, and they do try to reassure her. "I'll read for you!" Natsu promises, with a severity that would be more appropriate in a fight to the death. "We'll learn braille together Lu-chan!". Levy, cheerfulness clearly forced.
So Lucy nods. Because they didn't understand her problem but she also didn't have the energy or the will to explain. And she knows that they meant well, so really, the least she could do is not bring the mood down even further. So she forces a smile onto her lips and agrees. If she still had her eyes, they would've been a dead giveaway. Fortunately for her, those aren't a problem anymore. If there was one thing being a Heartfilia had taught her it was how to fake a smile.
She can never relive them again. Her most embarrassing thoughts and innermost feelings. Her highs and her lows and everything in between. Everything that was meant to be forever hers, and only hers. All the stories she had been working on in secret because she didn't feel confident enough to show them anyone else yet.
Either someone reads it: these words that were never meant for anyone else's eyes, or they are lost to her forever.
inspired by @shiiro-arts blind lucy au :)
(it was supposed to be a short drabble about how she basically lost access to everything shed written before unless she decides to let someone read it aloud/translate it into braille. either way it wouldn't belong to only her anymore - she has to shares it or she loses it forever. im sorry it took so freaking long to get to the point ripp)

My head is wrapped on Nalu baby's soo...
Headcanons about the children of the canon couples in Fairy Tail ✨✨
or at least the ones closer to canon, I'm watching your teasing Mashima
Nalu
Get angry with me all you can, but they don't have a lot of children, oddly enough Nasha is one of the few in the guild who were planned.
Natsu is totally a girls daddy, it's the vibe.
They have Nasha after getting married, she is the spitting personality of Natsu, but learned to like books like Lucy.
They had some false alarms and when it really happened the pregnancy was hard for Lucy and the baby.
They got scared to try again, and Lucy was brokenhearted because she knew Natsu would want more despite him constantly saying that Nasha would be more than enough.
After at least two years they end up adopting a baby boy they rescued on a mission.
The boy is almost as chaotic as Nasha, but is more calculating than his impulsive sister.
The two fight a lot, Lucy is the rigid parent who makes them stop, Natsu is the one wrapped around their fingers, and gets scolded together.
Despite fighting, the kids are very close, play together all the time and protect each other a lot.
When the kids are sad and wanna talk about it they go to Lucy, when they just wanna be held they go to Natsu.
Both times when the kids arrived the spirits were very eager to meet then but waited, except for Aquarius, she used her own energy, and brought gifts, but she also said they were very ugly.
Even though Natsu and Lucy don't have other kids, they would be parental figures to any lonely children who come across their life, and are the favorite uncle and aunt for most of the guild kids.
Gruvia
They have three at max, none planned as Gray was insecure about being a parent.
Gray cried at every single birth.
Juvia is a boys mother and is very jealous of all her kids.
Gray is the parent who puts then on tracks, and so he receives all the hate.
Greige was born months before Nasha, and has the shy nature of his mother .
The middle child is a girl, and if they have a third one would be a boy.
The girl is the princess of the house and is very spoiled, she has Gray infinite devotion.
Gajevy
Those two have at least five. None was planned.
As in the twin trouble novel Asuka seems to be at her mid/late teens, and the twins look six at most, I believe they are not the firsts but the second to born (I couldn't read the full novel to know more).
The first one is a girl, definitely born to defy Gajeel in every possible way, going further enough to ask Natsu some Dragon slayer tricks.
The twins are much more level headed than the firstborn, but Yajee is more impulsive than Jutla.
The fourth and fifth kids are the mischief ones, doing mess and troubling Levy, they also have different magic from their parents.
The fourth and fifth are closer to Natsu and Lucy's boy due to age closeness. When the three are quiet for too long it means they are making some trouble.
Both Gajeel and Levy are good at controlling their kids, but Gajeel does it by being strict and Levy does by tricking the kids, it works better with the more hot-headed ones.
All their kids know that Gajeel is soft-hearted about them getting hurt, so if they do trouble they come crying for him first, because if Levy learns she will be angry, and an angry Levy is a scary one.
Jerza
They only have one child
They are both scared of having children, cus of their bad childhood, Jellal never interacted much with kids and Erza tends to scare them.
Both are very protective.
Their son was an accident that happened on their honey moon.
Was a happy accident though.
He is very smart and takes after Jellal more, being closer to Erza on the aspect of being a good leader.
He is closer to age to the oldest of Gajeel and Levy, so the duo control the kids brawls in the guild hall.
The boy is also very independent from a young age, and Jellal is always scared of not being present enough for him.
Erza tries to be subtle but she loves to say how proud she is of her boy.
As Erza gets older she takes after Makarov when she becomes the master and develops a kind of motherly feeling to the younger generations of the guild, so subtlety she gets a lot of kids.
CobraxKinana
Have only one boy, who very fiercely loves Fairy Tail.
They have him some years after their wedding, the kid would be closer to the twins age.
Cobra didn't want kids, as they make much noise, but accepts because of Kinana, so he would be one of few planned ones.
She is a very dedicated mother, and the type who only stopped working when was due to labor, and returned very early on too.
Kinana would come to work with the baby wrapped in cloth like a kangaroo and it was the sweetest sight at the guild.
Elfgreen
They have two, I don't care gender.
In a very cartoonist way one is the spitting image and personality of Elfman, and the other of Evergreen.
Evergreen loves to brag about how awesome and handsome her kids are.
She also likes to dress up then, uncle Bixlow likes too.
Elfman engages in any stupid ideas the kids have.
Both kids are scared of Laxus, and he got offended by it.
Mira spoils her nephews/nices a lot, but none the parents have the guts to ask her to stop, so anytime the kids wants something and the parents don't give, they run to aunty Mira.
As the kids grew Elfman and Ever become the type of parents that the kids ask them to grow up.
Bonus:
Characters I believe would be a single parent, either by adoption, having a child without contacting or knowing the father, or the child simply appears years later (like Cana to Gildarts).
Cana: adopted.
Bixlow: simply appeared, no one questions who the mom is, just how the kid will survive .
Laki: def don't know the father.
Lyon: appeared.
Kagura: adopted two girls from Mermaid Heel.
Hibiki: adopted, but everyone suspects the blood relation.
