rewatching 3rd life and I’ve just noticed something:
Scott’s first death in the life series was to Etho
Impulse’s first death in the life series was to Scott
Tango’s first death in the life series was to Impulse
Etho’s first death in the life series was to Tango
it’s a fricking circle. Forget the trifecta of death, add Scott into it and you get the quartet of death

I just want to discuss how throughout the life series, Etho’s episodes 4, 5 and 6 are always just constant fricking chaos for absolutely no reason.
third life:
Episode 4: he launches multiple missiles at the crastle, stealing his redstone back each time and is then blamed for being apart of Grian’s triple kill
episode 5 +6 (well session 5 + 6) were in episode 5: he made the Dorito walls, then death my firing squad occurred, then he made an enderporter, launched a tnt cannon at the crastle as a distraction, (also joined dowarts officially during this), and also was part of pizza’s murder, then had his castle burned down for the first time, then got sniped by Scar for tryna steal stuff from the desert (cuz his enderporter broke), and then had the entire bit of being terrified of Cleo despite being the only red in the conversation
last life:
Episode 4: Was genuinely a menance the whole episode using invisibility pots to sneak around peoples bases, and also stole the brewing stand from Cleo’s body in full view of like 4 people
episode 5: had to deal with a red roommate, no tango and also being the boogeyman, and made an enemy of scar in the process
episode 6: whatever the stack kill carnage was, bdubs boogey betrayal, tango rage crystal which became Etho’s rage crystal where he threatened 3 reds, ultimately getting skizz killed after a failed tnt cannon
double life:
Episode 4: fishing rodding the warden, near death via attempted entrance of mineshaft, death by fishing rod, murder of Pearl, near death by witch, threatening of grian and scar, becoming successful hitmen killing the ranchers
episode 5: the red army, skulk sensor trap kill, THE SHIP BURNS EVERYTHING BURNS
episode 6: red army attempt 2, literally wanting Scott dead the entire episode, Etho and bdubs cannot be separated and everyone knows that and deals with it as the server splits in two, death by trapped portal
limited life:
episode 4: green hunting day, “thank you Joel you saved me so now I can kill you”, failed attempt at trapping Scott’s bed, ETHO IS WASHED UP CONVERSATION
episode 5: blowing up bread bridge and his children, awkward family supper
episode 6: dies multiple times (mainly to his son or his own stupidity) and generally doesn’t have a good day, bucket clutches multiple times, kills scar with a fishing rod
secret life
episode 4: fails listening comprehension with Martyn, aha meme with Jimmy and becomes like an uncle tryna fit in with the kids
episode 5: be nice to bdubs day, weeping angel task causing way too many problems, somehow getting involved with the tag task because of bdubs, pearl’s hot potato book and his inability to return it to her
episode 6: bringing a warden to the surface while everyone else goes about their day normally, get set on fire but Pearl for seemingly no reason, becomes friends with Jimmy who was feral to half the server, the wither and warden fight in the centre of the server, killing 2 reds and he succeeds his hard task

so I got kinda way into my hunger games and life series obsession and thought too much about the gem & the Scott’s and the mounders being the career pack and now all I can think of is the potential districts each of them are:
District 1: luxury and jewellery
Bdubs (cuz of his clock)
Gem (cuz her name it’s literally Gem)
District 2: masonry and weaponry
Pearl and Joel (they are violent and love weapons so sure)
District 3: electronics
Impulse (mr redstone man)
District 4: fishing
Scott (he was literally a fish in limited life)
All 3 of the roomies give district 7 or 12 vibes for literally no reason other than I said so

I love everything about this interaction. Cleo doing literally all the talking with Etho and Grian standing slightly behind her quietly with swords out, almost like guard dogs. Them discussing loyalty and Cleo trying to tell Gem to ask Scott about everyone’s loyalty (while also very subtly trying to convince gem not to team with the mounders). Cleo about to say that them, Grian and Etho were all loyal before immediately backtracking on Grian and then Scott bringing up his quick move from the bad boys to the neighbours last season.

I’ve found that Etho and Scar have a thing where one of them kills the other at least once in every series so here’s a list:
3rd life: Scar killed Etho once
Last life: Etho boogey killed scar
Double life: Etho set a trap that killed Scar
Limited life: Etho killed scar with a fishing rod and Scar killed Etho once (and also had 2 other attempts on Etho’s life that were stolen)
Secret life: Scar took all 3 of his lives
so… yeah…

All of them having one life in a bordered arena, everyone’s task being ‘to win’, the mounders and gem and the Scott’s (and also Scar) teaming up to create a career pack that chased everyone around the arena, Etho Cleo and grian being a team and looking at the ‘career pack’ like ‘welp we aren’t winning’, and then proceeding to all fall at the hands of people in the group

My favourite sequence of events in session 6, is Etho and Grian meeting up to discuss task progress, Pearl walking in, setting Etho on fire with no context, then Skizz becoming their conscience and the giving them a therapy session before being chased away by Lizzie, and then Etho and Grian just looking at each other in confusion

I’ve noticed something with Ethubs.
3rd life: Bdubs outlived Etho
last life: Etho outlived bdubs
double life: bdubs outlived Etho
limited life: Etho outlived bdubs
it’s a pattern, and they alternate who will outlive the other… and this series it’s bdubs’ turn to outlive Etho.
what if he does it by being the one to kill Etho (most likely accidentally as you know the way bdubs is)? What if he watches Etho die, just to be the next one out? What angsty situation could it cause?
