I was wondering... You mentioned you were only continuing existing romance routes in Cold Lands...

Does that mean if we start the sequel from a Second Born play through where our RO dies, we'll only have a fully platonic route available for Cold Lands? No more romance options?

Or am I reading that wrong?

Cold Lands begins with both Cyril and Will alive.

If either of them died in your Second-Born playthrough, it's not an ending state that you'll be able to import into the sequel.

Arcadie - Going into 2024

Bit late, but happy new year! ✨

Sorry for not posting anything in a while. I was sick with the worst cold I've ever caught.

So I wanted to share my tentative plans for this year:

Arcadie: Cold Lands is still in development. The biggest hurdle is the backgrounds. I had underestimated the cost and time involved. I'm rethinking whether to include them at all, keeping the ones I already have, or scrap the idea altogether and go back to a 100% text-based game. (I'm open to opinions on this)

I've started working on a book; by that I mean a regular, non-interactive book. I'll be sharing more about it when it's closer to complexion.

Ariana explicitly says that she intends to raze Kalltland to the ground, so... That.

Willeen/Wilfred would be all for it.

Cyril would not, but they wouldn't confront Ariana directly. Would they go around her back and get her kicked off the throne by the Noble Assembly? Definitely.

Would Ariana take it lying down? Definitely not.

Will does indeed have a bit of a sarcastic side.

(Though they're not entirely joking if the MC enters a political marriage with someone else. They do expect the MC to end it down the line. If the MC doesn't, oh boy...)

About the apple, I love adding little gestures of love; obviously grand gestures are... grand, but the little things that show they care? More realistic. Shows you how they'd behave on a daily basis.

Will Nathaniel reappear in the sequel? Since his route ends with a cliffhanger in A:SB. I'm hoping he'll get a route, too 🙏 but I'm absolutely LOVING the Stan content in the sequel!

He... might make some sort of appearance depending on your choices.

He won't have a route, though.

i replayed the first game to try out the sequel and omgg i forgot how much i loved nathaniel and his creepiness. i know he’s a minor ro but i adore him!! he gives me evil advisor vibes like if i wanted to burn everything down with aether, he’d be egging me on. can’t wait to see him again in the sequel and deal with the consequences of giving strange men our blood lol.

I love Nathaniel and his creepy antics 😄

There are already consequences in Second-Born's epilogue if you give him your blood. Romance Will or Cyril, make sure they survive, and behold 👀

There will be more consequences to come; not all of them bad, though. An MC who went through with Nathaniel's offer is much more powerful than an MC who didn't.

i see that the arcadie cold lands demo is only in stanislas’ romance route. im thinking of buying og arcadie and am wondering if i can romance stan in that one as well? or is it in 2 only

There is a Stanislas route in Arcadie: Second-Born, and his route in Cold Lands is a continuation of that.

His route in Second-Born is what I call 'minor/secret', though; as opposed to Will and Cyril's routes that have much more content and are therefore 'main' routes.

Hello! I am absolutely loving Cold Lands so far and am so excited to see where the story is going to go. Also thank you for the Stan route, the angst and conflict is delicious! I was wondering if, should things have gone better and Stan never betrayed the crown, if a marriage between MC/Stan could have ever happened in the first place? Would MC's parents have allowed this if the two had a more traditional courtship? Just an random thought I had as the what ifs for MC/Stan are too good. Cheers!

I have a hard time imagining that happening.

Stan is very goal-focused, and at no point in his life do his goals include courting the prince/princess. Unless the MC was the once doing the pursuing, it simply wouldn't happen.

As for the parents, they wouldn't have been exactly happy about it, but they wouldn't have stopped it.

Hello!

No, sorry, there is no debug mode and no cheats.

Arcadie: Second-Born is choice-based rather than stat-based. Adjusting your stats on the fly would break the game's logic. You'd trigger scenes/endings/character reactions that make no sense.

One year later, thank you!

One year ago, on the day of my birthday, I released Arcadie: Second-Born.

It was both the best birthday of my life, and the most nerve-racking.

That day, I did one thing I had always wanted to do; to create something that would be 100% mine, and release it into the world.

This is going to sound very corny, but I feel the need to say it.

The only reason I can say that creating and releasing ASB was worth the two and half years spent working on it, is because of you.

Every comment, every like, every reblog, every ask, every fan art, every review, and of course, every purchase of the game. You've made it all so much worth it. You've made me remember how much I love writing.

You've changed my life, because you made me remember that I am allowed to dream. And that sometimes, dreams come true.

I sentenced Stan to face trial at the end of Second Born. In Cold Lands, does that mean i choose he is long dead or still alive currently?

The logical choice would be for him to be dead. A trial would end in a death sentence (which he points out in Second-Born).
