Nico’s got a crush

Warnings: none. This is a mob au but this part is tame. Allusions to nsfw content, but nothing explicit or overly nsfw. Reader and Luke not present in this specific scene/installment

A/n: I know this is short but I wrote this because I figured people would want to know what Jack and Nico discussed after dropping off Luke. Enjoy!

As soon as the door closed, Jack looked at Nico with a knowing smile.

Nico gave him a “what the fuck” look back and proceeded to walk to the elevator.

“Are we not going to discuss what just happened?” Jack said, catching up to his boss.

“What?” Nico bit back, annoyed. “We dropped Luke off with his best friend who happens to be a nurse. What is there to discuss?”

“The fact that she bossed you around and you did nothing,” Jack replied.

“And your point?” Nico was confused and annoyed by his second in command.

Luckily, the elevator finally opened.

“You like her,” Jack said, proud of himself for observing that.

“I don’t know her,” Nico let out. “She is Luke’s best friend and she’s a nurse. That’s all I know about her.”

“That’s not a denial,” Jack teased.

Nico rolled his eyes before exiting the now open elevator.

“How can I like someone I just met?” Nico questioned.

“Hasn’t stopped you from picking up girls at the bar,” Jack countered.

“Being attracted to someone is not the same as liking someone,” Nico corrected.

“But that doesn’t change the fact that you didn’t speak up when she bossed you around. You took it and listened to her,” Jack continued. “You never do that. Ever! She has to be special.”

Nico couldn’t help the flush of his cheeks.

“Ha!” Jack pointed out. “So you do like her!”

“Will you quiet down and just get in the car?” Nico said as they approached their vehicle.

“Not until you admit that you like y/n,” Jack challenged.

Nico sighed. “Okay. Fine. Yes. I like y/n. She’s very pretty, and I didn’t mind it when she told me what to do. Happy?”

“Ecstatic,” Jack said before climbing into the driver’s seat as Nico climbed into shotgun.

“Now we just need you to ask her out,” Jack added once he sat down.

“That was not part of our deal,” Nico bit back. “Now, drive.”

“You’ll ask her out,” Jack sounded sure of himself. “It just might take some nudging.”

Nico rolled his eyes but didn’t mind the idea of asking you out on a date.
