Realms of Whitmore - Komorebi
Tumblr media
From the foam of the Sea, the Sky creates clouds, From the clouds in the Sky, the Mountain creates snow, From the snow on the Mountain, comes life. Until all is washed away to become foam of the sea once more
~ Komorebian Allegory of Life
Tumblr media
A long time ago, Mama Komorebi was lost near the peak of the Mountain with her two newborn twins. Exhausted, hungry, and annoyed with her babies' wailing, she called out for help.
The mountain whispered to her, promising her rest and her children's safety. Mama Komorebi laid upon the comforting snow.
As she rested, the Mountain gathered an avalanche and blanketed Mama Komorebi while she slept. The snow carried her children all the way to the river valley.
Tumblr media
In the valley lived Mother Bengal, who had had three babies of her own just the season before, but only one had survived the winter.
One day, Mother Bengal found her daughter playing with two human babies in the reeds. She looked around, but could not find their mother.
And so Mother Bengal adopted them as her own. She named them Kamira and Kamiran meaning "fortunate" in the Bengal Tongue.
Tumblr media
As Kamiran and Kamira aged, they grew too large for Mother Bengal's home. Mother Bengal regretted not being able to provide for them any longer, but the twins new they must journey to the Human Village to learn to build a home of their own.
The night before their arrival, the forest spoke to the Village's Sage through the dancing of the light from the setting sun amongst its leaves. "Twins" the light on the ground spelled.
Expecting babies to be born, the village was surprised to be met with two strangers at the gate the following morning. They took introduced themselves and explained the purpose of their visit. The villagers celebrated their coming and named them the Komorebi Twins.
Tumblr media
When they returned they built a home of their own and invited Mother Bengal and all of their cat brothers and sisters to live with them.
It became known as The Palace of Bengal.

Realms of Whitmore - Sulani Pt. 2
Tumblr media
After ages of life on Sister Rock, two of Dolphin's descendants rose above all others and into the sky.
Kai L'Aqua enlightened the islands and returned them to Mother Sea's embrace. She tasked herself and her followers to build a Temple in Mother Sea's Honor.
Mother Sea made her appreciation known by striking the nearby beach with a fierce bolt and providing two gifts. Instantly the sand turned to glass under the flash.
On the next day, the second gift arrived the form of two strangers on a steamy tide. They brought with them the knowledge to build Sulitas (small suns). Kai immediately began installing these in the Temple.
Mother Sea returned to the Empress that night and told her one day she would be the Sul in the Sky.
Tumblr media
Eternal Sister Rock watched as Dolphin's descendants lived upon her shores. She simmered with jealousy as the Sulanis returned to Mother Sea's embrace.
"Sister Fish," Rock trembled "do as your told."
Fearing the angered Rock's red waters sister fish swam to the shore and asked "Sister, where am I to go?" "I desire to hear your children sing" Sister Rock replied. She then told Fish her nefarious plan.
Sister Fish had many children. Among them were the frogs of Tadpole Falls. These sacred waters were blessed by Mother Sea to provide fertility to those who enter them together.
Tumblr media
The frogs sang out to the Empress and her first follower, a man named Sho Miyamoto. The two dove within the waters and were blessed with a baby boy named Keanu.
The evening of Keanu's birth, the frogs called out once more. However, they called upon a different man. Enchanted, Kai and the man entered the falls together.
During this act, Sister Rock trembled and the ground shook. Frighted, Sho grabbed his son and set out to find Kai. "Danger! Faliing water." Sister Rock shouted in return.
Sho followed Sister Rock's advice and found the two in Tadpole Falls. Still entranced by the frogs, Kai gave Sho nor their son any mind.
Tumblr media
Sho tried to confront them as Sister Rock coughed with delight spewing rocks across the land.
Her venomous red spit hissed contempt into Sho's ears. "I will provide and protect the child" she said "She is unworthy of your love."
Sho listened. He took their son and to the peak of the mountain and under the canopy Sister Rock provided.
That night Mother Sea scolded Sister Rock and Kai alike with a powerful thunderstorm. "You must carry the burden you've chosen and provide for the descendants of the Moon" she told to Rock.
She then appeared to Kai in her dreams "And your burden will be yours and future generations to bear. For the daughters of the Sun will never find love."
Tumblr media
And so, Sho Miyamoto was risen by Sister Rock and the Mother Sea to be the Moon that dotted the night sky- his descendants to forever sworn protection from the land.

The Realms of Whitmore - Sulani
Tumblr media
In the beginning there was the Mother Sea and her daughters, Dolphin, Turtle, Fish, and Rock.
Sisters Dolphin, Turtle, and Fish swam freely within their mother's waters, but when Rock came of age, she could not swim. Though she could not swim on her own, Rock was the most obedient and level-headed daughter, always going where Mother Sea sent her. Dolphin, Turtle, and Fish often mocked Rock about her inability to swim. Rock never appeared to pay them any mind, but one day Mother Sea had heard enough. Turtle had curled up in her shell to pretend to be Rock as Fish pushed her around. Sister Dolphin chirped with laughter.
"You dare mock your sister once more?" Mother Sea's voice boomed. Turtle started shaking and stayed in her shell. Fish sped behind Rock to hide. Only Dolphin stood defiant in her mother's waves. Mother Sea turned to Rock. "Rock, my calm, steadfast daughter, it is time for you to rise up and show your sisters who you truly are." With that Mother's waves raised a mountain off the sea floor and crest above the sea. Thus was the birth of land.
Mother Sea then turned to her other daughters. Fish and turtle still cowered in their hiding spots, but Dolphin stood defiant. "You too have outgrown your home, Dolphin, and shall accompany your sister in her world." Dolphin protested to nonlistening ears as she was washed ashore. Sister Dolphin lay aghast as her fins spit in the sun and turned into legs and feet. Thus was the first Sim born.
-Sulani Creation Fable
Tumblr media
Sister Rock watched for generations as her sister's descendants came and went. She tried to lend a hand when she could, providing them shelter, teaching them how to make fire, and showing them how to use tools.
Sister Dolphin's descendants were never grateful of Rock's help, but she persisted. They cursed the sea, farmed fish, and chased away Sister Turtle.
One year, as a young sim named Kai L'Aqua came to age, Sister Rock could tell she was different. Kai cared for the sea. Defended Sister Fish and rejoiced when Sister Turtle came to land to lay her eggs.
However, Kai struggled with life on land. She waded into the water any time she could, but could not swim herself. Sister Rock felt Kai's lament and pleaded with Mother Sea.
Mother Sea agreed, on one condition- Kai could not return to the sea permanently, she would need to adjust to live on land and sea. She gave Rock a magical kelp and explained that Kai must eat the kelp.
Tumblr media
Sister Rock lured Kai into a cave near her hut. There she presented the Sim with the magical kelp and begged her to eat it.
Kai, knowing of Rock's kindness, eat the kelp without question. She passed out. When she awoke, her skin was extremely dry and itchy, and there was a voice she did not recognize in the wind. "My Daughter, it is time to visit home." The voice beckoned.
Kai ran to the water and was surprised with the sudden transformation. She had become a Mermaid.
Fish gathered around her, and turtles swam in front of her. "Grab hold" they called. And they swam Kai deep within Mother Sea's grasp.
Mother Sea welcomed Kai with open arms. "My daughter, I have waited many years for one of your kind to return to me. However, our visit must not be permanent, you must gather your pod and show them the true bounty of my love."
Tumblr media
Kai was returned to the land and went about gathering other sims to reintroduce them to Mother Sea. The First Empress of Sulani was born.

Introduction - Fearsome Furghus Darkmoor
Tumblr media
The growing prosperity of the valley along the Bagley attracted some unsavory attention. Perhaps most notorious of all was Furghus Darkmoor, the Bandit from Bragaria.
Furghus was exiled from Bragaria after his plot to kidnap King Ludwig Landgraab's son, Baron de Bunz, for ransom was foiled by the kingdom's spymaster.
Tumblr media
When Furghus first moved to the area, he relied on a low profile, but had nowhere to live. He studied the residents' schedules, would sneak into their homes while they were away, cook, bathe, sleep, and take care of his other needs.
Tumblr media
He most frequented the homes of Olde Mill Court. In addition to stealing food, he would often steal a small item as homage to his visit.
Tumblr media
After discovering the riches Hendford had to offer, Furghus decided to settle down in the nearby Bramblewood. It was a rough camp at first, but he had aspirations for something much greater.
Tumblr media
To this affect, he knew he would need some locals on his side. One night, while attempting to break into a house, he ran into its owner, Dwayne Johnston. His quick reactions turned the mood jovial and the two became fast friends. Furghus was able to convince Dwanye to join his criminal activities.
Tumblr media
However, Dwayne didn't want the locals to suspect he was involved with Furghus, and Furghus agreed that was a great cover. They found a mysterious snail sculpture in the Bramblewood to communicate and share plans.
Tune in Sundays at 1:30PM central at StandbyEntrance - Twitch to find out what Furghus and the other denizens of Whitmore are up to. twitch.tv/standbyentrance

The Book of Omens
Tumblr media
On a sunny market day, Vaughn Mirana met a young lady by the name of Lara Chen who seemed extremely interested in his knitting.
"You are the Lord of the Knitts, that is plain to see. Do you think you could teach me?" Lara spoke so soft and sweetly. As Vaughn turned to see who spoke, he was enraptured by her beauty. "My lady, with a beauty like yours, I cannot deny. Pray thee stay after the market closes and teach I shall."
Tumblr media
Lara did stay after the market and followed him in to the barn. There Vaughn sat on his trusty rocking chair and was immediately surrounded by his sheep. He looked up to her and asked "I hope it's okay, if the kids watch and stay." The scene was too delightful to deny, Lara watched on as Vaughn knitted. Her attention drifting softly with his calming voice.
She returned many a nights, not learning as much as she liked, but falling more deeply enamored with the man and his lovable sheep.
Tumblr media
Later that year, the two married. For a few weeks, Lara moved into the small cottage at the top of Olde Mill Hill; but it quickly became clear the cottage was too small.
Tumblr media
With the Alistar's funding and Wendell building, a small farm was built at the bottom of the hill. It was agreed that the couple should pay tax for the land and house to continue the market and expansion of the region.
Tumblr media
The two lived peacefully for some time in the farm cottage. They had a baby girl that they named Rossanna Miranda. The locals all gathered to welcome the baby and present gifts to the area's first born child.
Among those gifts was a mysterious book. Nobody knew who it had came from. It could not be opened, and the language on the cover was one unknown to all. Confused, the couple thanked everyone and put the book in the attic.
Tumblr media
Shortly afterwards, strange fires started occurring around the child. They called upon Alistar for his intellect and help. He found the book and their attic and took it deep into the forest.
Tumblr media
It did not help. Rosanna continued to spontaneously combust at times. Fearing the lands may be cursed, the Mirandas decided to leave the kingdom. They were worried what the others would think, so in the middle of the night, they packed as much as they could, gathered their flock of goats, and began the trek to a new homeland.
Tumblr media
The Mirandas settled down in the region known as Tartosa at the Rifugio dei Profugo. The improvised family, lacking much handiness skill, built a small one room hovel with an outdoor kitchen. There, they dreamed of living peacefully and far away from the cursed lands of Bagley.

The Realms of Whitmore
Tumblr media
Once upon a time, there lived four friends with vastly different skills but one uniting dream- to settle down and build a peaceful and prosperous kingdom.
Tumblr media
Wendell Aaberg was a lone wolf outdoorsman who was skilled in crafting and woodworking. Despite being a loner, he found the group to be enjoyable and developed a close and loyal relationship with each of them.
Tumblr media
Mattias Fischer was rumored to have been born in the water. He was self-assured perfectionist who loved to fish. He readily supplied the food for the group to cook. As their settlement developed, he also took up the hobby of painting, which later developed into another profession of his.
Tumblr media
Vaughn Miranda was the nurturer of the group. His loyal and neat traits led him to be an excellent caregiver to the livestock. His creative trait made him skillful at knitting, and he was often asked to make new clothes for the villagers.
Tumblr media
Alistar Hopewell was a farmer lad who had fled the Kingdom of Bragaria for a more peaceful life. With the seeds he brough from the warring kingdoms, he taught some of the locals how to grow and sustain themselves.
Tumblr media
After much discussion, planning, and working the land, the four settled atop Olde Mill Hill, where they constructed a barn to house their livestock, a garden, and some market stalls. On every other day, they'd open the market to buy and sell with other locals who were also just settling down. Woodwork statuettes, fruits, vegies, fish, and new clothes were common items purchased.
Tumblr media
Alistar Hopewell discovered a new way to process fruits into a drink form, which he called nectar. It became wildly popular with the locals. Not long after, the group built a cottage and a pavilion for the market, which had become more popular.

Loss of Invention - The Vanishing of the DaSilva Twins
By the time the DaSilva Twins, Daniel the II and Luis, became teens, their family had already been known throughout the world as great artists and inventors. The two, although not identical, were very much inseparable and shared many of the common interests- most of which revolved around making a name for themselves and exceed their family's fame. One of their first inventions, just around the turn of the 18th century was the automobile.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The invention quickly became a popular, but the two had no interest in building a manufacturing business. They sold the plans to the Beauregards, who used their connections to set up a factory in the old world, Bragaria. The twins moved on to their next inventions.
On December 22nd, 1700, their parents died in a tragic car crash, the first automobile accident ever recorded.
A tragedy all around, but the wrose was to come. Locked in their own abode, they have nary the time nor will to speak to even I, their cousin. The Beauregards have said they hear not but banging and tinkering reverberate from the home. Colby Douglas remains a close friend of theirs. He claims they have become obsessed with the prospects of a new time machine. Joey DaSilva, Loss of Invention - The Mysterious Vanishing of the DaSilva Twins, 1711
The two reportedly succeeded in creating a time machine. Notes found on their workbenches called it a DaSilva Steam-powered Fluidic Time Machine, or DSFTM. Scholars of the day were never able to replicate the machine's effects, but one Spring Day in 1710, the two brothers sat in the steaming tub of water and simply vanished.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The two had indeed time traveled, back in time to the Dawn of Civilization on the Sulani Isles. A loud bang announced their arrival followed by a prolonged hissing sound that announced the Time Machine was broken. After an hour of trying to fix the machine, they surrendered to the fact that they didn't have enough power or tools to finish the repairs. The two quickly set upon building a shelter and readying themselves to live on the strange new island they now found themselves on.
Tumblr media
Within 14 hours they had constructed a tiny home suited for the two of them. Join us in a moment, 1:30 CT, to see their future play out in the past! www.twitch.tv/standbyentrance

The Cult of Frogs - The Early Years
Tumblr media
Whispers amongst the merchants inform me a cult of witches has formed upon your shores. I need not tell you how immoral and improper the worship of frogs is on the King's Land. See that they are eradicated with swiftness.
Letter from Royal Navy Admiral Joseph Helmsman to Phoebus Goodwin, circa 1690
This letter from the Royal Navy Admiral was the first recorded mention of The Cult of Frogs. The coven was founded by Martha LaStrange and her daughters, Frogrette, Tad, and Lily sometime between 1675 and 1690.
Historians find the lack of mention in any local histories compelling evidence that the cult elicited enough fear in Dragon Harbor that neither the colony's government or Royal Nacy dared to offend the witches.
Tumblr media
Between the years of 1690 and 1700, the Coven is attributed to at least three deaths. Their first murder was of local Fish Vendor, Amanda Fischer.
Martha believed she needed a human sacrifice to activate her daughter's mystical powers. She lured elderly woman to the meeting by promising her a position within the cult. Amanda, who had lost all of her sons to the "werewolf virus", was seeking a cure for her boys and revenge on the one man who bit them. Witchcraft was an answer to both.
However, at their meeting on the Eve of Near Years 1690, Amanda was betrayed as a bolt of lightning flung from Martha's fingers burnt the fishmonger to a crisp.
Tumblr media
The second death was most certainly an accident. With her powers activated, Lily LaStrange sought to become rich via chrysopoeia- the alchemical transmutation of ordinary objects into gold. On one summer night in 1693, the process did not go as planned and Lily turned herself into Gold.
Disappointed, Martha called upon the Grim Reaper to ask him how to return her daughter. He offered her a trade, one soul for that of her daughter's. Martha set to a dastardly plan.
Tumblr media
On Halloween, 1693, the LaStrange family hosted a costume party and invited the entire town. Martha laid each room with deadly traps and stocked the buffet with poisoned apples. The LaStranges eagerly welcomed guests, waiting to revel in the upcoming disaster.
However, the party was uneventful and the townsfolk had a great time. The Douglas family had an abundant harvest of apples that year and handed out bushels to the entire town. Having been appled-out everyone simply passed on the fruit.
As the night went on and the clock struck 3am, the last guest was headed for the door and Martha knew she had to act. She snuck after him, and after making sure the coast was clear, struck him with a fireball. Demarcus Douglas was the unfortunate victim; although the town never seemed to truly realize his fate. His body was burnt to a crisp, swept into a tin, and stored in the newly built LaStrange attic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lily LaStrange was returned to the world, but as a ghost. Martha became irate upon seeing her daughter and vowed revenge on the Grim Reaper for his betrayal.

Dragon Harbor 1660-1680
Tumblr media
In the mid-17th century, word had reached the King of the Old World that there were "unholy beasts" wandering the shores of Dragon Harbor and Pirates plundering the waters surrounding the land. He sent loyal Capitan of the Royal Navy Phoebus Goodwin to commission and man the Dragon Harbor Guard Barracks. Goodwin brought with him a Majorette Joan, who later became his wife. After recruiting local Rye Miller to their cause, they immediately set out to rid the land of werewolves and pirates.
Their attempts were met with some resistance from the locals; however, who had known the Fischer werewolf clan for some time and generally accepted them. In addition, it frustrated the Goodwins that any time a werewolf was caught, they always seemed to escape several days later.
Tumblr media
In 1671, the Douglas Family, in hopes to expand their influence and revenue, opened their own grocery store on Santa Simia Boulevard. While the Beauregards were not too pleased with the decision to sell independently, they were able to quickly shift their focus more towards furniture.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There is no records of Bobo DaSilva and Pierre Monfrer in the 1660s. Historians believe she was shunned from the community for her odd doll-like features and tendency to break men's hearts. It's apparent that sometime during this time, she married Pierre Monfrer and the two of them moved out of the town. They are not mentioned again until 1673 in a letter from Guy Beauregard to a business associate in the Old World:
I finally visited the MonFrer manufactury upon the pleading of Pierre MonFrer. It is a large studio, fronted by a quaint house exactly as their toy houses portray. While I have not ascertained their material supplier, their products are most sturdy and enjoyable for a child. Although, I must admit, Pierre is who makes the deal palatable, an old friend of mine. His wife brings naught but heartbreak and the creeps. I expect a full batch of MonFrer Toy Houses to be shipped out next month. I know you'll find them satisfactory.
- Guy Beauregard in a letter to a business partner.
Tumblr media
The first schoolhouse of Dragon Harbor was built in 1680. The town convinced a young graduate of the Old World University Hilda Melrose to be the school's first headmistress. The headmistress also lived in the schoolhouse.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tobias Graves, the first local heir of the Graves Family, inherited his father's business in 1680 and immediately commissioned the construction of the Graves Mortuary. Tobias, who married Malikita Beauregard, had convinced his In-Laws to give his wife a plot of land on Beauregard Lane.

Dragon Harbor 1646-1660
Tumblr media
Around 1646, the aging town, concerned with their inevitable passing, hired a grave keeper, Joshua Graves, to construct and manage a final resting place. The graveyard, built just outside of town, was named "Founder's Rest."
Tumblr media
By 1650, the Douglas Family finally garnered enough money to build the Douglas Fir Manor, thus ending their lot's nickname "The Mansion That May Never Be." They kept their original home and farm, Founder's Village, and opened the gates as a park.
Tumblr media
In late spring, 1655, disaster struck. During a terrifying night storm, a merchant ship, the Santa Jumino, crashed just off the coast of Dragon Harbor.
Tumblr media
Frederick Beauregard, found the wreckage the following morning and found only two survivors, Frenchman Pierre Monfrier and Scotsman Rodrick Monroe, on the beach. The three worked throughout the day to bury the rest of the crew. Despite the trauma the area represented for them, the two felt obliged to stay in Dragon Harbor in order to remain close to their deceased crewmates.
Tumblr media
In fall of that year, Martin LaStrange decided his potion business was growing too large for his home. He built a store next door and officially registered the business as LaStrange and Co.
Tumblr media
In 1659, LaStrange and Co. expanded to a second building. This one held more oddities and discoveries of John Miller's hunts.
Tumblr media
By the end of the decade, the town collected enough money to build a lighthouse on the nearby Chuppa Island to ensure another disaster like the Santa Jumino never happened again.

The Werewolves of Dragon Harbor - Origins
1645-1655
Tumblr media
That same year another failed experiment of LaStrange's gave John Miller the Midas Touch. This was discovered after John got dizzy from the potion and sat down, instantly turning the LaStrange's dinning room chair to gold. LaStrange asked him to touch many other items in the house, and this was the beginning of the LaStrange's true wealth. After he finished with Martin's request, John decided to seek out revenge on Paulo Williams, who had been pestering and teasing him. John was able to convince the teen out of his house and with one flick on the nose, Paulo was solid gold.
Luckily the transformation was only temporary, and John's Midas Touch wore off within 24 hours. After his complaints regarding Paulo was laid bare, the town council decided to let John off with a warning.
Tumblr media
In 1648, Martin LaStrange was certain he had the right concoction for eternal youth. However, the potion ended up turning John into a new creature - a werewolf. John instantly transformed into a wolf like creature and would continue to do so every night of a full moon.
Primarily we thought this development was a curse. However, John's perception and ability to find needed ingredients has been incomparable. This will undoubtedly bring us to a new age of alchemy!
Lastrange's Diary, Martin LaStrange, 1648
Tumblr media
The curse did have a downside, however, as John's wild nature drove him to desire his own pack. Most of the townspeople grew intimately familiar with this fact and stayed indoors during the Full Moon. However, on one fateful night, the Fischer brothers ignored the warnings of their parents and had a party on the nearby fishing dock. John heard the teenagers partying and rushed them. Kurtis and Thomas were quickly bitten, but the middle son, Phillip successfully fought off the invader. With the taste of Fischer blood however, John became obsessed with adding Phillip to his pack. On the following full moon, Phillip chased after his brother, confused as to what was happening to them. John sniffed him out and cornered him at the Quarry. With Phillip bitten, John was sure his dream of having his own pack had come true.
Tumblr media
Phillip, however, was angry at John for transforming his brothers. He challenged the man, pinned him to the ground, and convinced his brothers to follow him instead and became the alpha of the newly formed pack.
Tumblr media
After witnessing the strange behavior of their sons on several full moons, the Fischers decided to kick the boys out of the house in hopes to keep their younger daughter and son safe. The brothers discovered a cavernous area just North of the Fishing Docks to call home.
Tumblr media
Phillip, the middle child and Alpha, was able to restrain himself as he aged up and joined the DaSilva Science Center in hopes of curing his curse with science. Kurtis and Thomas, however, gave into their wilder nature and anger from being kicked out, and began to steal from the neighborhood. Phillip disapproved of these actions, so the two kept their activities secret from him. They ran into John Miller one night while thieving and the three began to work together. Each night they met by the Fishing Dock to discuss their deeds, becoming the area's first criminal bracket.
Meanwhile, John gained better control of his primal urges and became somewhat of a philanthropist in his human form to recover from his bad deeds. He was known throughout town as the "Town Hound" who would regularly give out cash. Little did anyone know, the cash was most likely from their own stolen goods. The facade worked however, and the townspeople became more comfortable with the werewolves in their presence. Jasmine Douglas fell so much in love with this facade, that she asked to marry John and for him to turn her into a werewolf as well. Shortly after, the Miller's moved out of the Moonstone Manor to begin their own pack in a new house constructed just behind it by the DaSilva's.

Dragon Harbor 1636-1645
Tumblr media
The years between 1635 and 1640 were quiet for much of Dragon Harbor. The Douglas family began constructing cottages along the ridge overlooking the proposed city settlement. The first was rented out to John Miller, who later married one of the Douglas Daughters.
Tumblr media
Unbeknownst to Jack Miller, Martin LaStrange was using his brother, John, as a test subject for many potions during this time. A passage from LaStrange's diary later revealed his obsession with the extending life.
I will not head to the doubts clouding my thoughts, nor the ticking of time. I do not discount my luck of finding such a willing subject as John. However, he will most certainly reap the rewards before I do, should he not parish first.
LaStrange's Diary, Martin LaStrange, 1640
Tumblr media
In 1643, the Douglas family hosted a 20 year anniversary of the settlements founding. Being the last remaining residents of Founder's Village at the time, Quentin Douglas felt the need to host the event.
20 long years have passed since we first came aground, and look all around you. Just as this garden and, Dragon Harbor thrives. Just as the waves at the dock, our community flows together. And just as the trees in our orchard, our families grow. I am proud to call this majestic land my home.
20th Anniversary Speech, Quentin Douglas, 1643
Tumblr media
And Dragon Harbor was indeed thriving. Just earlier that same year, the Beauregards expanded their store and introduced a consignment shop for small items. The Exchange quickly became the DeFacto grocery store and trading post for an entire decade.
Tumblr media
By 1644, the Beauregards had amassed enough wealth to build their own mansion. They choose a spot ontop a hill overlooking the city and harbor. This began the first mansion craze in the region.
Tumblr media
Not to be outdone, the DaSilva's built a villa for their growing family next door. While Angello and Kamila decided to stay in their former abode, they convinced their older children to move to this mansion and care for their siblings there until they came to age.
Tumblr media
The Douglas quickly purchased the lot next to the DaSilvas, but were unfortunately unable to afford a mansion for several years. This gave the road the nickname of Manor Row, and the Douglas lot the nickname of "The Mansion That May Never Be."

Dragon Harbor 1630-1635
In the spring of 1630, an odd couple that went by LaStrange moved into the Cornerstone Inn. Martha LaStrange had an odd personality, but Martin LaStrange literally looked like a frog. They claimed to have been run out of their settlement due to that very fact.

The two appealed to the hearts of the town and, despite Angello DaSilva's wishes, were allowed to stay. Martin set to work gathering ingredients to create elixirs as Martha worked her way through the social circles of Dragon Harbor.
Later that year, two brothers John and Jack Miller also decided to settle in Dragon Harbor and moved into the inn. After a night of drinks with Martin, John, the younger brother, became heavily influenced by the alchemist.
My brother is obsessed, as if under a spell, with this Martin LaStrange. The man has him running around like a hound. You seem to know more of the man than most, how can I save my brother from this fraudulent snake oil salesman? - Jack Miller, Letter to Angello DaSilva, Spring 1632
John continued to run errands for the Frogman, searching the land for rare ingredients. This allowed for Martin to focus on crafting and selling elixirs. By 1633, the LaStranges had amassed enough wealth to build a house and elixir shop across the street from the inn.

The house stood ominously at the edge of town, but only Angello DaSilva and Jack Miller spoke out in protest. John moved into the new home with the LaStranges and became the caretaker of their newborn baby girl, Frogette.

Angello's protests would return to haunt him when he announced the plans to build a new science center on the site of the quarry. Quentin Beauregard, who formed a lucrative business partnership selling ingredients to the LaStranges, planned a protest of the new plans.
At the end of the day, however, the protest was a tongue-in-cheek response. The only planned members were the Douglas family and Quentin was later quoted saying "I had no quarrel regarding the Science Center. I thought Angello could use a taste of his own medicine."

The DaSilva Science Center opened the first of Fall, 1635. It included two small greenhouses, a drafting room, a mechanic room, a classroom, and a chemistry room. These were in addition to the expanded quarry site, metalworking, and sculpting studios outside.

The Curious Case of Bobo DaSilva
Tumblr media
Sometime after the birth of their third child, Angello and Kamila DaSilva noticed their second son, Antonio was frequently running off into the forest to play. Their eldest son, Daniel, would occasionally join him, so his parents asked about the visits.
It is most odd. Daniel explained that Antonio invites him to visit his friend Bobo in the woods, but he said there's never anyone there. - Antonio DaSilva, Letter to a Colleague, Circa 1636
The colleague responded that it must be an Imaginary Friend out in the woods, to which the DaSilvas must have agreed.
And then there's this whole imaginary friend Antonio will not cease. He's now the laughing stock of the village after speaking of her at our last dinner party. I pray it will not last long. Mother, what should we do? - Kamilla DaSilva, Letter to her Mother, Fall 1636
The winter of that year was particularly harsh with deadly cold chills and deep snow drifts. Early one morning, Antonio barged into his parents' room and demanded they check in on Bobo.

We searched the entire wood. Daniel and Antonio assisted, but not another soul was found. Exhausted we returned to the homestead and demanded Antonio relinquish this fable. He's remained silent on the matter and stayed away from the wood ever since. - Angello DaSilva, Letter to Quentin Douglas, Winter 1637
Scholars believe the Douglas children also entertained the idea of at least one child living in the forest at this time. Although no direct statement has been found, Quentin seemed of particular interest in Bobo and would often share thoughts and questions with Angello regarding Imaginary Friends.
The theories on Imaginary Friends are most astonishing. Some might even lead you to believe that these beings are somehow real. I read an article from one philosopher who even believed they could materialize using a potion. Has the old world gone mad? - Quentin Douglas, Letter to Angello, Spring 1637
I fear Antonio has read your last letter. We have caught him in my laboratory trying to sneak out some concoctions. Kamilla and I have decided to move my projects to the quarry to keep them out of his hands. - Angello DaSilva, Letter to Quentin Douglas, Summer 1637
Antonio was caught sneaking off with some concoctions, but his father never truly knew how many were taken. He quickly moved his supplies across the street to Quarry Shack, which was the beginning of the transition from quarry to the Science Center it is today. Unable to enter the locked shack, Antonio resumed his visits to the woods.

In the middle of the night on the first of fall, 1637, a pounding was heard on the DaSilva's front door. The family gathered as Angello answered the door. Outside stood a little blue haired girl with a sewn heart on her jacket. Antonio rushed past his parents to hug her.
I will never forget the look in her eyes, mother. Filled of anger, envy, hunger, or je ne sais quoi. But we couldn't turn her away. Not force a child to live out there in the woods. Antonio was right, how could we ever doubt him again? - Kamila DaSilva, Letter to her Mother, 1637
The DaSilva's adopted the child. Antonio and Bobo became like boyfriend and girlfriend and lived happily until their teen years. In her teenage years, Bobo grew confident in herself and found joy in breaking hearts. She was eventually kicked out of the DaSilva household and moved into the old Santa Dragonia where she continued to date the village men just to break up with them.
