i know there are much, much worse places it could be but
having a bunch of poison ivy blisters in your belly button really sucks
#don't ask me how#because i have no freaking clue lol#its all over my arms face and torso too ughhhh#i know i got it weed-eating the other day even though i made sure my skin was totally covered#only thing i can figure is i wasn't careful enough when changing clothes to shower right after#and some of the oils rubbed off on my skin then#but there must have been a LOT of it cause my skin is an itchy blistery wreck lol ugh#words

Here are a few recent creek finds!
A hand from an old bisque porcelain doll, a gorgeous crinoid calyx (that flower-like fossil with a hole in the middle towards the lower left), a nice chunky cow tooth, a big old Boy Howdy fishing lure that lost its head and hooks, lots of lovely hag stones, some really nice fossils, and loads of pretty bits of tumbled glass and pottery.
I thought this little pottery sherd had a lion on it when I first found it but after looking at it a bit closer I realized it was a unicorn!
I did a little research and tracked down what it most likely came from. It looks like a good match for a piece of James Edwards & Son stone china from the mid 1800s. They had very similar maker's marks on them — here's one of the examples I found. Super neat little find! I wish he still had his head but headless unicorns are still cool too <3

Eclipse! We didn't have totality here like back in 2017 but we still got about 95% of the way there. Such a surreal, amazing experience. So grateful the clouds cleared off just in time ☀️🌑🌕

That. Was. AMAZING! I just stood in my front yard with my sweet mom in absolute awe as day turned to night for over two and a half minutes.
It was so dark! An owl even started hooting in the woods near my house, haha.
Love those little crescent leaf shadows!

The weather is warming up ( sorta...80 degrees here one day then 40 the next lol ) so it's time to get some skulls and bones cleaned! Got about a dozen buckets and totes worth out to whiten/get soapy baths so far!
