Tobirama shakes his head in response, handing the previously ogled bottle to Madara before vaguely attempting to mimic washing himself with his hands. He does that by rubbing his hands together and then pretends to wash his face and arms.
"No. Wash yourself, you are still filthy."
There is no other way of conveying this across and Tobirama downright refuses to help Madara with more washing than necessary. Surely the tengu does know how to do that, right?
And even if not, he must learn how to do these things himself — Tobirama will not aid him in that, not now, not ever. If he wants Madara to learn anything at all, it has to be without any interjections other than outside guidance from 'afar'.
Unfortunately, for Madara that might mean more suffering than until now, especially because now he has to actually do things he should have known how to do a long time ago. And that is not something that Tobirama is any good with, especially since he is not equipped to handle the teaching of that degree. Social interactions are not his forté.
"I'll leave you alone to do that, just call for me when you are done with that. I'll help with the rinsing."
And with that, Tobirama leaves, waving his hand in the direction of both Madara and the clone. It's unclear whether it is a gesture of dismissal for Madara or a beckoning for his clone but the clone still steps from around the tub and follows Tobirama out of the bathroom, leaving Madara alone.

Once Tobirama is pointed out the core of the problem, he carefully combs through the mess of strands to find what is causing the new spurt of blood to trickle into the water. The fact that it is just a dislodged feather temporarily allows him to feel relieved. As brutal as the damage seems, it is not as serious as he thought it would be. The feather will eventually grow back and judging by Madara's reaction, the tengu hardly even knows about it aside from some form of discomfort.
"I see," Tobirama lets Madara know verbally that he has acknowledged his words, carefully pulling the feather out completely. It will be much better for Madara to be rid of it and additionally, it will prevent the area from getting inflamed. It comes at the cost of some additional pain but he hopes that Madara will not react too violently to it.
After all, there is still a lot left to do.
As Tobirama's access to appropriate 'hair'-care supplies is limited, he uses what he can, including Hashirama's odd herbal concoctions that are supposed to help the caked dirt and tangling (and hopefully not cause further irritation where the suds may accidentally go over a wound or two).
When it comes to additional tools, though, Tobirama has to scrutinise whatever supplies Hashirama had dragged in with him. None look too appealing, oddly crooked and with teeth of varying distances, undoubtedly Hashirama-made as well, judging by the attempt at polishing of his Mokuton wood. The distant hum of chakra underneath the combs' surfaces alone is telling, but Tobirama can only feel it once he lays his hands on the combs properly.
The rest of the work passes relatively slowly and in silence. Both Tobiramas work in tandem, switching between washing, pouring liquid, and combing through Madara's hair and wings.
The water has to be changed once or twice, less and less filthy each time until Madara's plumage is clean enough to not stain the water anymore, and his wounds have temporarily closed and have started to scab over.
"You can wash yourself, right?" Tobirama, the clone, huffs from the side in an almost irritated manner, straightening his back, while the real Tobirama seems to be taking a minute off. He too straightens his back, wincing quietly at the leftover strain and dull ache of being bet over the tub for too long. Carefully, he lifts his arm and rotates his shoulder until it cracks and slots itself back into its socket.
He'll definitely demand a compensation after.

This is where the fun starts.
Both of the Tobiramas move to take their place on either of Madara's sides, simply watching as the water allows just about everything to come out of Madara's hair. Tobirama surely does look a bit baffled at the sheer amount of random things, weaponry included, especially since he would have thought that Hashirama had managed to remove it all.
How is Madara even able to hold so many things in his hair and wings? That's what Tobirama would like to know because it complicates his job even further.
"How indeed," his clone supplies before bending down a bit to begin the long and tedious work of simply removing every piece of alien material from Madara's hair and wings, no matter is organic or not. He needs to be rid of these things before they can even proceed to clean him up.
Tobirama himself soon joins, carding his hands through Madara's other wing to shake out (or alternatively pull out by force) any stray weapons or twigs, or any other object he might find.
The water slowly turns deep muddy brown and then almost black and Tobirama has to eventually let the water out and replace it with clean water in order to get somewhere with the session. Especially since the longer Madara sits in filthy water, the filthier he will get as well.
(Simultaneously he suspects that this will not be the last time he is forced to change the water.)
While he is busy doing that and while his clone fishes out all the material filth and debris from the bathtub, a quick look over Madara's side allows him to notice the trail of blood coming from somewhere around Madara's shoulder.
"....are you hurt anywhere? Do you..feel any pain?"

heartofswords:
“Uchiha are terrible gossipers,” Tobirama easily counters. “Training ground fifteen is close enough that we’d get an immediate reaction, but I’m sure that within a few hours we’d have them  watching us, no matter what training ground we use, so choose whichever you want.”
He followed his creator out of the window, jumping down to the roof below, and from there to the street underneath. “There is no need to engage them in a fight, just seeing us fight each other will do the trick. There’s always bystanders when one of us powerhouses trains.” Meaning: Hashirama, Tobirama, Madara and Izuna. The four of them were on a level of their own, and everyone knew it, so whenever possible shinobi congregated at the edges of their training grounds, hoping to see the shinobi calamities go all out and give a good spectacle.
That, however, led to a terrible thought that made Tobirama wince. “We’d better make this new jutsu a kinjutsu right away. Can you imagine what it’d be like if there were two Madaras? Or worse, two Izunas?”
"Bold of you to assume that any of them would be immediately able to replicate it. They can hardly utilise shadow clones. For the future, though, it might be best to have it sealed away and hidden from prying hands and eyes. Potentially have Mito look into the seals to make sure they are doable."
It serves as a reminder and a counter-measure to any seal-breakers that would want to try and steal the jutsu from its resting place. Which is something they will have to figure out at a later date too.
Food now.
"That is fine, fifteen sounds alright for all intents and purposes, I am simply saying that when we appear there, we will become the prime magnet for all the Uchiha in the area with the amount of produced chakra. Others too but those pesky bastards mostly. You know how...peculiar they are with these things."
With a sigh, Tobirama lands on the roof of a building across his favourite sushi place, looking down at the low-set establishment.
"Shall we go in together?"

Unbeknownst to Madara, Tobirama is quickly losing patience the more Madara struggles and splashes just about everything in the vicinity of the tub. He even has to bite his tongue not to hiss something at the cursed tengu in the tub, gripping Madara's forearms tightly until the Uchiha calms down enough to be let go safely.
It takes a while but Madara finally manages to settle down at least for a while. The sigh of relief that Tobirama lets out is far to blissful, more than it should be, but he finally manages to pull back from the tub, rolling his sleeves up. He's already drenched in water, so there is no point in doing anything about it, but the entirety of the bathroom is splattered with puddles of water.
Tobirama, therefore, does what he can do best, stretching out his arms to use a jutsu and manipulate the water back into the tub. He does so with a hard expression — a set jaw and brows furrowed in concentration.
"The more water you splash around, the more will I have to put back in and the longer you will have to sit in there," he warns Madara, dropping his arms soon enough. His gaze wanders back to the drenched tengu, defeat clear on his face.
In the background, his clone steps into the room again, ready to assist in the tough fight that is the bathing of Madara.
"Ready?" Tobirama asks no one in particular. It could be Madara. Or even himself. At this point, he's not sure who should be more ready to undertake this challenge but he knows that the next time there will be bath time, Hashirama will be on cleaning duty. Without any jutsu.

“Cooking isn’t the only thing she takes care of. I am surprised that my brother still dresses himself on his own.." Tobirama jokes with a slight snort underlying his voice. He knows that his brother is able to do many things — mundane tasks and great deeds — but it still feels nice to poke at him from time to time. No matter how overplayed the jokes are.
"In any case," he soon starts again, standing up from the table. He brushes off invisible dust and crumbs off his legs,  bowing his head to Kagami once he's done with his menial task, "I am yet to see about my work and Madara both, but appreciate the concern. I do not wish to hold you back any longer - as I said, I hope you get plenty of rest for tomorrow and I hope to see you around again, Kagami. And thank you, once again, for the food and your time."
This time around, Tobirama actually does reach out to ruffle Kagami's hair as if his student was still an unruly child. It feels nice to give in to his 'parental instincts. Fuck.
"I'll be on my way now. I will see you soon. Goodnight, Kagami-kun."
And with that, Tobirama withdraws his hand from Kagami's hair and with a quick salute and a nearly incomprehensible sign, he hiraishins away.
The Uchiha approached shyly, fidgeting with his fingers as he came to a halt close to Tobirama. He cleared his throat nervously. "Tobirama-sensei..?" He sounded so feeble, as if he'd rather disappear than to bother the younger Senju brother.
Tobirama seems to be quite busy in his office, pouring uselessly over a tall stack of paperwork that only seems to grow instead of getting smaller.
Kagami must be godsent to him to bring him out his unproductive stupor and too many words that don’t seem to cooperate with him today.
“Yes?” He questions carefully, lifting his eye to look at Kagami. Something seems… strange?
“What’s the matter?”

“I am sure that you will,” Tobirama shakes his head fondly, moving to rest on his side. He’s aware of Izuna’s doings but he doesn’t let them affect him more than they have already. The man will have to try harder than that.
“I’ll eventually take you there. Not yet. I don’t want to face your brother quite so soon.”
Izuna Appreciation Week
Izanagi | Secret Relationship
@diedbeforeturning25
They say there is a fine line between love and hate.
Tobirama would disagree if you had asked a few years ago, maybe even months. Any point in time up until something in him broke and he and Izuna went from wrestling on the training grounds to kissing in a matter of seconds.
Now, Tobirama is usually a rational man. Logical. But all of that was lost in a matter of minutes and  from then on, things went downhill. And yet, their strange arrangement (which he is afraid to call a relationship) makes him…happy. Or content. It is still a  strange concept to him in the times of peace, ending up trailing after an Uchiha like a lost puppy.
It is unusual, alright. He is not one for public displays of affection so hiding their relationship was easy. Sure, sometimes he wanted to reach over and bury his face in Izuna’s neck or wipe the blood and sweat from his face but he has always managed to restrain himself.
There is no way in hell that Tobirama would have ever considered this love. At least he doesn’t think so. He’s not one for much of affection or showing the way he feels - that is Izuna’s specialty. And yet he finds himself anticipating the moments when Izuna breaks into his office after work.
“You are early today. Has your brother started another shouting match with mine?”

"Mind me asking, but who was the first person you resurrected when you first started using the reanimation jutsu?"
Nameless faces and soldiers. Edo Tensei was always a weaponised tactic to use in war, never to resurrect anyone in particular.

Things seem okay for a while.
Tobirama allows Madara to inspect his hand to show him that yes, indeed, the water has not harmed him at all and is completely safe to step into. Unfortunately, he has not thought it out so well, it seems — Tobirama can only thank his quick reflexes that the two of them do not end up toppling into the bath fully.
He manages to catch Madara shortly before that, only earning a couple of scratches from Madara's talons and some wet patches where the water managed to spill out during their strange manoeuvre.
"Shit. Be careful," Tobirama hisses through his teeth, looking down at the damage done. Madara is almost in the tub. Almost. It could be easier to get him in like this since he is halfway there — but further persuasion and reassurance is needed. And Tobirama loathes it.
"Okay, uh, listen. You are almost there, so just bear with it a little longer, okay? The sooner we get to this, the sooner it is going to be over and you can get out of the water and get food..that's good, right? That's what you want?"
He gestures at the water again, not even waiting for Madara's answer before lowering him just slightly so his legs are back in the water. It barely reaches his knees and is a bit on the warmer side, but Tobirama makes sure that Madara isn't too uncomfortable or panicky.
"It will not hurt you in any way. It is just a bit of water, see?"

Pleased with Kagami's answer, Tobirama offers the Uchiha another nod in approval. One of these days, he can see them all training together — Kagami and his summons working as one, sharing one mind, using combined techniques on an expert level in no time.
He has great faith in his student. Perhaps a bit too much, already catching the 'proud father' feelings that were never supposed to be.
"There you go," he speaks up once more when Kagami fails to identify anything that Hashirama can be trusted with. Aside from battle-related conundrums, protecting the village included and followed by his Mokuton prowess, there isn't much that would come to mind.
"You are always going to find something he is okay at doing but there will always be a catch. He can replicate mother's mushroom soup just well enough but it is almost a tradition to end up sick after eating it. Henceforth why Mito cooks. But, my point still stands."
Tobirama gives Kagami another look before looking at the kitchen clock.
"I should go soon, though. I've stayed back for longer than appropriate — I am sure that you still have homework to do before you go to sleep. And I have work," there, he pauses, rubbing at his face with both of his hands, "not to mention that I need to mentally prepare for that meeting with Madara."
The Uchiha approached shyly, fidgeting with his fingers as he came to a halt close to Tobirama. He cleared his throat nervously. "Tobirama-sensei..?" He sounded so feeble, as if he'd rather disappear than to bother the younger Senju brother.

heartofswords:
Tobirama feels very generous indeed, having allowed his creator seven full minutes - he almost interrupted him at the five minutes mark, but upon noticing that the man was really almost done he let him be: it’d be a pity to interrupt him so close to the end.
“Of course I’m eager to go! Can you imagine the look on everyone’s face?” Tobirama shoots his creator-twin a foxy grin. “Oh, at the beginning they’re going to think I’m just a regular shadow clone - until we give them proof I’m not.” To support that, while his creator was writing down his observations, Tobirama went to their room and changed clothes: he’s now sporting a black yukata with blue stitching of waves along the hem, and blue trousers. It wouldn’t do for them to be dressed the same way for what he has in mind!
“Anyway. Sushi first because you haven’t eaten in twelve hours and thus neither have I - let’s go to that stand near the Uchiha district, just to get the rumor mill going, shall we? Then, let’s go sparring. Not training ground fourteen, that’s too close to the Uchiha district, I don’t want to be that obvious - I was thinking training ground fifteen. We put up a show good enough to let any observer know that I’m fully solid, and then we enjoy their panic. In the case Madara himself won’t be there, Izuna or Hikaku definitely will, and within ten minutes Madara will be having a heart attack.”
Tobirama’s grin becomes sly, knowing the last card he’s going to lay on the table will absolutely get his creator onboard. “Also, you get to test my jutsu capability. Aren’t you curious to see if I can regenerate chakra or not?”
At this moment, they both have roughly half of their chakra reserves. Creator-Tobirama will slowly regain his chakra until he’s back at full power because that’s how chakra regeneration works in humans, but how about clone-Tobirama?
He makes a show of counting on his fingers: “As far as I can see, there are three scenarios: one, my chakra coils cannot regenerate chakra and by using jutsu I will fully deplete my reserves. Two, I can regenerate chakra, but my limit is the amount of chakra I was created with, which is half of what you have. Three, I can regenerate chakra to the point of being your equal.”
Tobirama raises an eyebrow, pointing at the door with a flourish. “So? Shall we go and have fun?”
Now, after experiencing this, Tobirama is almost certain that the jutsu has had several fatal flaws. The longer his clone exists, the wider the distance between their personalities seems to be, especially since while Tobirama is all about the prank, he is in no hurry to execute it nor....is he so excited about it.
Testing his clone's abilities seems more satisfactory to him mentally but he's already promised and sushi does sound really good right now.
(Could it just be that he is getting fed up with himself? No pun intended.)
There is no doubt that Tobirama — the real one — is a bit dubious when it comes to his clone's actions and motivations, which might result in him being overly cautious.
(What if rather than a diverging personality from the original the clone has actually taken on a part of his less-visible personality and 'made off with it', leaving Tobirama to deal with the rest? It's a hypothesis. A far-fetched one, but at this point, Tobirama wouldn't put anything beyond his own capabilities.)
"Mhm, provided that they will be curious enough to come and see where all that ruckus is coming from," Tobirama points out, beckoning his clone to follow him while he reacts to whatever speech he had missed when tidying up, "though I am not sure how effective training ground fifteen will be in the long run. The soil is soft enough to result in severe damage to the training space and I refuse to subject myself to terraforming afterwards."
He does, however, think of the implications of his clone's own hypotheses when it comes to its chakra reserves. All of those seem like very possible options for this kind of a jutsu. Contrasting it with Kage Bunshin seems almost useless in this case — the corporality cost Tobirama more chakra than just a regular clone but it is quite unclear whether that also applies to his clone; whether it has to dedicate chakra to it, whether the chakra was taken out of its reserves and is non-regenerable, or whether it had no effect on the clone's chakra at all.
"Yes, though. I still agree with what you have said regarding all the testing," he continues eventually, gesturing towards the window from which they can leave, "but simultaneously, I am sure that there are other ways of luring the Uchiha in after that. Unless your plan is to engage in a fight with any of them then and there."

heartofswords:
Tobirama almost rolls his eyes at that. His older self is a worrywart: when it comes to seals there’s reasonable worry, and then there’s plain exaggeration. “You mean that I might spontaneously return to my timelines, without activating a new seal?” The skepticism in his voice, thick as honey, conveys his opinion on that. As far as he’s studied, seals just don’t work that way. Once the seal that brought him back exhausted its purpose, it went dead and inert, with no further repercussion.
“I’m fine with staying here, though. We won’t be able to work undisturbed if we returned him for at least a few days - Kami knows Hashirama would not leave me alone one second.” His words might suggest irritation, but his voice is fond. His older brother’s antics do amuse him (in small doses).
The older Tobirama share his younger's sentiment for the relationship between his brother and him. No matter the time-line, that one fact never seems to change. Which is an enlightening and fond discovery.
What bothers him, though, is the fact that his younger self is not comprehending the disastrous outcomes this jutsu might have on his reality. And himself too.
"No. Spontaneous return would be beneficial for you. What I meant was something different — it is unclear how long you can survive in this timeline. Your death might be imminent, depending on the way your existence is accepted in this 'double reach-around' loop of time and space. There is already one of me here, which means that the universe has no need for two of me in one version — henceforth you might simply perish with the mere snap of universe's fingers."
Hopefully, that will make his younger self think for a minute and help him get back on track whilst preventing him from getting to carried away and forgetting their main goal.
"Additionally, time is ticking. We might not be able to reverse the seal at all, and even if we do, the reverse leap might just kill you too."
So much about positivity, it seems.

When Madara reaffirms that he trusts Tobirama at least the minimal amount necessary for him to actually reach out and step towards one of his greatest fears, the man in question gives him a firm nod in approval.
It's baby steps, but it works and for now, that is all that Tobirama needs — he's especially glad that Madara is susceptible to food-based bribery. And for a reason, too.
"Okay, you are doing fine," he starts again, "the water will not hurt you. It is not here to do so — quite the contrary — it will help you in more ways than one. Now come on in. One step at a time," he continues carefully, pulling Madara towards the basin. It takes him a good while of shuffling around to get on the other side of the tub while simultaneously keeping Madara by the edge.
Tobirama slowly moves to sit on the edge of the tub, patiently waiting for Madara to follow his lead and come in. He is aware of the fact that Madara is still wearing a few articles of his clothes alongside the little detail that they will have to come off in order for Madara to wash up properly.
To show Madara that the water is shallow and safe, he dips his other hand into it until the water reaches just about the height of his elbow, a gesture which he hopes that Madara will understand and doubt him no more. Luckily, the water still pleasantly warm.
"See? No harm. It's okay to come in."
He's not sure to what degree that even helps but seeing as Madara seems to somehow trust his judgement, Tobirama has some faith in the tengu's ability to cast aside his fears in order to get washed up especially since Tobirama is there with him to help him and protect him.

After a small pause, the Hokage crouches down to his student’s level, resting his elbows on his thighs for a change.
“I was under the impression that you do not listen to the words your mother is saying to you — given the circumstances, you are doing fine. No one was born with their talents on a silver platter. Believe in practice and discipline and you will master your skills in no time. Moping about won’t do you good,”
@senjuofthesea
To this day Mizuki questions what possessed her to approach Senju Tobirama to teach her to harness her wind style and improve her sensor abilities. Don't get her wrong, the man is a genius and NO one compares to his skills on the field, but god DAMN his lectures go over her head sometimes, especially when all her chakra is spent from their spars and she can barely keep her eyes open; much like right now,
"I don't know what the question was but without a doubt my answer is 'I don't know'..."
