Kanata doesn't care how you make your money, but he does get intrigued when you would always come home to him with candy and confetti in your pockets.
"Look at my haul today, Kanata!" you exclaimed, dropping all the candy onto his lap. "Let's try some–"
"Oi..." he said, annoyed at the fact you just dumped all your sweets on him. "We can't eat these until after dinner, y'know?"
You were always so happy whenever you'd show him what the kids had given you that day, describing how the parties went that in the end, it made Kanata want to attend these events to see you in action too.
He had never seen you working before because your usual gigs were children's parties, but there were times you'd work at public events that were usually hosted in the middle of the city.
You had informed him about your current event beforehand, so he went to visit you after working his own jobs set by Iori.
But when he arrived, he didn't see you anywhere. Sure, there were balloons and kids everywhere and that big, fluffy bunny mascot that you couldn't miss, but you, his girlfriend, wasn't there.
"Ehhh... where is she?"
Kanata stayed for a few minutes, eyeing the happy faces of kids who were given balloons by the bunny, but he came here for you, not some middle-aged man in a rabbit costume.
He was about to leave until the bunny ran over to him. It took his hand and tried giving him a balloon.
"Argh... No thanks, I'm fine," he uttered. He was kind of embarrassed that the bunny went over to him and made him the centre of attention. "No, seriously. I don't want it."
But the bunny was reluctant. You were reluctant. Urging your boyfriend to take the balloon was hard when he was being so stubborn.
"Just take the balloon, Kanata!" you cried under the layers of fabric and foam. You jumped up and down in frustration as the balloon followed your movements.
And for some reason, this was what got Kanata to accept the balloon. "Okay, fine..." he sighed, but a smile appeared on his face. "Thanks... (Y/N)."
You had told him you were going to be working as a mascot this time around, but it seems that Kanata didn't take that information in until the last second.
But you were content that he finally accepted your balloon, so you continued to do your job of entertaining the kids.
When your shift was over, Kanata was waiting for you with the string in between his fingers. He looked adorable sitting there with the balloon you gave him.
"Kanata, I'm done!" you said, engulfing him in a hug. You had changed out of your mascot costume so you were free to talk to him normally. "I'm glad you came!"
With his other hand, he hugged you back. "Yeah... I didn't expect that mascot to be you though," he confessed. "Not until you started stomping like that, haha."
"Was that how you recognised it was me...?" you questioned in offence. But you laughed as you linked arms with him, ready to go home. “But I was a cute bunny, wasn’t I?”
“Mm, the cutest,” he agreed. “Do I still have to hold onto this balloon though…?”
“Of course! I gifted it to you after all!”
Nayuta thinks it’s pretty cool that you’re a children’s entertainer. But to be honest, he always thinks you're cool.
Since he can't see you at work, he's still content with the fact you can show him pictures and videos of you performing. He always has something cute to say about how you dress or the way you speak to the kids.
"Your outfit's really... interesting... but you look adorable, haha."
But he does want to see you work in person one day. The two of you don't know how that is possible though, but an opportunity arose when one of the kid's parties was held at the park.
"Nayuta, you can help me set up the activities," you said. "It'll be fun!"
"Sure, but do I have to wear those costumes too...?"
"Of course you do! It's part of being a children's entertainer!"
Nayuta barely wore such absurd and bright colours, but you thought he looked adorable. He looked like a little kid in his primary-coloured outfits and polka dots.
"Hehe, smile!" you chirped, taking a pic of your boyfriend.
"H-Hey! Delete that!"
"No way! You look so cute! Plus this is something to be remembered."
Nayuta scoffed under his breath, but he didn't press on further. You did look really happy.
"Fine," he breathed as he flicked your forehead with a small smile. "Just don't show anyone else, okay?"
When it was time to entertain the kids, Nayuta helped you out with the activities you had planned for them beforehand. He was exceptional when speaking to the little ones and it surprised you a little.
But he was terrible at making balloon animals, so he just sat there and watched you do it.
For most of the time that he was there, he admired you, watching you in awe and in love that you could be so energetic and humorous.
At home, you were the complete opposite. Sure, you were energetic, but this was a whole different level. The kids loved how entertaining and fun you were that the atmosphere Nayuta was occupying felt so cozy and warm, something that he didn't get to experience when he was a kid.
"Thanks for helping me out, Nayuta!" you exclaimed. "Did you have fun?"
Nayuta nodded as he carried a little party bag filled with candy in one hand whilst the other carried yours.
"Haha, yeah I did," he said, but continued softly. "I'm glad I got to experience that one way or another..."
"Hmm?"
"Nothing~"
Despite helping you out that one time, Nayuta concluded that he just wasn't fit to be a children's entertainer, but he loved that you were one, so that was all that mattered.
And yet he still loved hearing your stories and watching videos of you performing. He'll never get tired of those.

Dandelion - finally hearing the other person laugh after a period of hardship
A small trip was all it took for your arm to land itself in a cast. Let's back up a little shall we?
You were on your way to visit Kanata at his house in the slums and there were a bunch of stairs as there usually were. You had almost reached his place when Kanata had just exited from his house and you were just so excited to see him you might've just ran your way to him. Unfortunately for you, you had forgotten that you were on top of a flight of stairs and tripped when you were dashing your way towards him.
Kanata was surprised when you called out his name but even more so when you were falling down the stairs. He darted from his place trying to catch you but unfortunately he didn't make it in time hence why your arm is now stuck in a cast.
It's been a few weeks since that happened. Were you embarrassed? Yeah sure maybe a bit. But most of all you were frustrated because the hand that you broke was your dominant hand. It rendered you useless to do most daily things.
When you came to hang out with the twins they could tell that you were gloomy. You had been like this ever since your trip down the stairs. Kanata was worried about you. You hadn't been smiling all that much nor have you cracked any of your corny jokes around him anymore. He might not show it much but it frustrated him to no end that he couldn't do anything to help you.
“Kanata you're frowning again.” Nayuta nudged his brother out of his thoughts.
“No I'm not.” Kanata denied lying even though it was evident on his face.
“If you're that worried you should do something.”
“Like what? Most of the things I've tried all they've done is smile politely at Nayuta.” Kanata sighed.
“I don't know but that flower field near the outskirts of the city looks good.” Nayuta casually mentioned, trying to give a hint to his brother who's quite hopeless sometimes.
Kanata's eyes widened in realisation at what his brother was hinting at. You absolutely adore flowers so bringing you to that flower field might just do the trick. He had gone there before so he knew that it was what you needed.
Needless to say you were weirded out when Kanata uncharacteristically brought you to the outskirts of the city one day. You had come to visit him after you ran some errands and he quite literally dragged you out of his house without saying anything. Even Nayuta seemed a bit surprised at that but he had a knowing grin on his face when you guys left.
“Close your eyes.” Kanata told you when you were nearing the outskirts of the city.
You had complied not asking too much of him about his suspicious behaviour. He held your hands and you just followed him wherever he was leading you.
You could feel the change in the air. There was a soft gentle breeze and the air felt a bit fresher. The ground you were stepping on became softer as you could tell that you were no longer walking on asphalt but on soil. The birds were chirping and indeed the air smelt a bit more aromatic.
When Kanata told you to open your eyes you did and you weren't ready for the sight that stood in front of you. You were surrounded by dandelions. A field full of yellow flowers and some matured ones here and there. To see that you were in awe was an understatement. You definitely won't forget this anytime soon.
Kanata had been tense, gauging your reaction from the begging, when he saw you smile he relaxed a bit as he pulled you deeper into the field.
You took a dandelion in your finger, you blew on it making a wish like they always would on tv. You plucked another one and brought it to Kanata’s face.
“Here blow on it and make a wish, Kanata”. You told him holding it expectantly in front of his face.
“Hah? Isn't that a bit childish?” Kanata exclaimed.
“Awww come on. Just this once?” You pleaded with him.
“Fine….” Kanata begrudgingly took it from you. He supposed he could entertain your antics since he did bring you here to cheer you up.
He did as you told, made a wish and blew on it. Funny thing was that the tiny fruits of the dandelion didn't go in the direction he blew it in and instead went into his face due to a sudden breeze. It went up into his nose and he sneezed quite loudly, might I say.
You couldn't help yourself and laugh at his predicament. Kanata was about to berate you but he stopped himself when he saw your face and he heard you laugh. His features softened as he relaxed and smiled softly at you while you were still laughing like a madman. To say the least that your laughter was music to his ears after a long time of being absent.

Kanata Yatonokami:
He totally acts like he's not bothered
You're gone? That's fine! Have a great trip!
He's totally fine being left alone!
In fact, he's been alone most of his life!
He can survive a few weeks without you!
Easy, no problem!
The signs of him missing you are slow to present themselves, but if you're like Nayuta, they're glaringly obvious.
It starts with accidentally making an extra plate of food and then shrugging it off, like he didn't forget you weren't joining them for dinner.
And when it comes to chores around the apartment, he mentions it's your turn to do them and Nayuta has to remind him you're not here.
So he obviously takes over because you wouldn't want him to be so lazy, or something like that.
And Nayuta can hear how he talks about you way more as you're gone for longer and longer
Everything reminds Kanata about you and his brother has to listen to his brother rant about you all day.
Anytime he tries to bring it up that he may miss you and he should just call you, he shuts that shit down so fast.
Assures you he is fine and he can handle himself.
He doesn't need to call you like some clingy child!
In fact, he's more than happy to have a bit of time on his own!
It's his way of proving he's still independent!
But Nayuta knows that this kind of behavior isn't sustainable and cannot go on forever.
As he watches his brother continue his downward spiral into missing you, he takes it upon himself to call you.
You're obviously relieved because you've been trying to get a hold of Kanata, but he's been trying to prove he's independent and doesn't need you as much as he lets on.
Nayuta assures you he's fine physically, but he's not sure how much longer that will last.
You tell him to call later tonight and then give the two of you some private time so you can talk.
He agrees and sets the plan in motion, telling Kanata he's going to go visit Shiki.
Kanata answers the phone and when he hears your voice, he finally breaks.
And I mean full on mental breakdown.
He misses you so much and he's disappointed in himself that he's not strong enough to be away from you for so long.
You assure him he's plenty strong and he doesn't need to be so hard on himself.
You tell him just how much you miss him as well and how much you want to be there with him right now to hug him and tell him everything is alright.
You promise you'll be home as soon as possible and the two of you will be able to talk in person regarding his insecurities and your time apart.
Kanata, to his credit, tells you how much he loves you and how he's desperately waiting for you to come home.
With promises made, you both hang up, feeling closer than before.
Nayuta Yatonokami:
He tries to be strong like his brother.
But it's easier for Nayuta to break than Kanata.
However, he's not quite as "aggressive" with how he shows he misses you, if that makes sense.
While Kanata lives in a state of denial, Nayuta is clingy.
You can't go an hour without getting at least two texts from him.
He just wants to talk to you and make sure you are okay.
He's never been apart from you for this long and it's a little scary for him.
At night, before you both go to bed, you spend at least an hour on FaceTime.
You both talk about your day and anything new, cool, or exciting to share.
Despite how much he hates being apart from you, Nayuta really does love listening about how you're enjoying your time.
You have so many cool stories to share and you're so good at telling them, he feels like he's right there with you.
Really you tell the best bedtime stories in his opinion.
However, in the morning, when he realizes he's alone...
It makes his heart hurt.
He misses you and wants you by his side again!
Kanata is quick to pick up on his brother's feelings.
At first, he tries to distract him and remind him that he can lean on him in times of distress.
But eventually, longer than he cares to admit, he knows his brother's need for you is too strong.
He needs to do something about it.
And so Kanata swallows his pride and calls you, asking you to come home.
While you unfortunately can't hop a plane and fly in tonight, you promise to talk to Nayuta about his feelings as soon as you can.
That night, during your FaceTime call, before you can even say anything, Nayuta speaks first.
He apologizes for monopolizing your time while you're away and how clingy he's been.
He tells you he'll try to back off for both of your sakes.
And that's when you have to shut him down.
You tell him you miss him just as much as he misses you, maybe even more.
While you can't leave right away, you plan on getting home as soon as possible, because you need him and he needs you.
You both cry together for like an hour, but it's a good cry.
Because you both know that you both love each other more than anything in the world.
And that is definitely something to cry about.

"I am sorry, (name)" He murmured, his body flailing around on the couch as if he were an actual fish out of water. "But this is... so boring. Can you take me to the ocean now?"
You sighed, offering him the sweetest smile you could muster as you continued to dap a wet cloth on his forehead. Poor thing, his skin was hot to the touch and the sweat trickling down the back of his neck didn't help to disprove your theory that he was incredibly sick, even if he insisted he wasn't.
"I know honey, I know. I'll take you when you're all better. The ocean isn't going anywhere" You cooed, brushing a damp strand of hair out of his eyes.
"You are cruel, (name)" Kanata huffed, turning on his side and facing his back towards you, a childish behaviour that you couldn't help but let out a tiny laugh at. You'd never seen him act so bratty before. It was cute, in a weird way.
"Cruel? Me? I'm the one taking care of you dummy" You teased, gently poking him in the back. "How about this, if you let me take care of you, then we can take a bath together later. Does that sound good?"
Kanatas head perked up at the offer, a tired smile tugging at his lips. A bath? With you? Who wouldn't want that? He rolled around till he was laying flat on his stomach, looking up at you with those big green eyes of his. God, even when he was sick he still made your heart melt.
"Hm, only if you add bubbles"
You chuckled, reaching out to ruffle his hair. "Of course, anything for you"

✧18. Teasing kisses where one person blows air into the others mouth and runs away.
Nayuta had invited you over while his brother was out for what you assumed was his job which left you and Nayuta alone. Which... wasn't very fun when your boyfriend wasn't doing much other than laying beside you on his phone, scrolling and occasionally humming at a video that played.
" ...Hey. Nayuta, " You started, looking down at him laying beside you. A hum came out in response as he looked up at you. " Can I have a kiss? " You knew you didn't have to ask but... he's denied your surprise kisses more than once out of... surprise. He got up and stretched for a moment before answering with a simple:
" Yeah. " He leaned towards you, slowly getting closer to your lips till they almost touched. He paused, looking at you for a moment, from your eyes to lips before blowing a puff of air onto your lips. Jerking back, you looked at him confused as he went back to sitting back against the wall.
" Wh-? Nayuta- that wasn't a kiss, " You looked over at him, a small teasing smile slowly appearing on his face when you spoke.
" I know. " A matter-of-factly tone was evident in his voice with that damn teasing smile. He knew exactly what he was doing. Furrowing your brow as you moved positions now to grab his face and get a kiss out of the boy, he slipped out of your grasp.
" Nayuta... " You huffed at him, watching as he slowly backed up, a playful smile on his face. As soon as you got up, you watched him bolt away. Soon though... you couldn't seem to catch him, always seeming like he slips right through your hands when you reach out to grab him as he runs by, soft laughter coming from the boy as you miss again and again.
That laughter was cut short when you tackled him to the ground, a little harder than you meant to, your knees will definitely have blue and brown bruises later from that hard fall, nonetheless, he was caught.
" That hurt, (name).. " He huffed, looking up at you as he sat up, rubbing his back. Taking the quick chance you had, you cupped his face in your hands and gave him a kiss. One that you had been chasing him around to get for at least 10 minutes at that point. " Heyyy.. no fair! "
" I caught you th- " You got cut off by the door opening and a confused Kanata standing in the doorway.
" What the hell are you two doing? " He looked annoyed as he held a convenience store bag in one hand while his other was unoccupied. You looked at your boyfriend with a blank expression to which he followed suit only to have to hold back your laugh. " What's so funny? The hell am I missing?! "
" Nothing.. nothing at all, Kanata... "

✧11. Morning kisses that are exchanged before either person opens their eyes, kissing blindly until their lips meet in a blissful encounter.
Sun leaked in through the cracks of the blinds as you slept beside Kanata, arms wrapped around each other and legs tangled together without a care in the world other than the blissful sleep you both were in.
Breathing in sync and sleeping soundly together. Truly a moment worth cherishing with your pretty boyfriend. One that you hoped would come every morning if possible.
You sleepily brought your hand up to his face, nearly smacking his cheek when you brought your hand down harshly to his face.
" ...Hey. Watch it... " Kanata mumbled, stirring after the borderline slap to his cheek. His eyes weren't open yet even after your thumb rubbed his cheek softly, all he did was scrunch up his face as if trying to get himself to fall back asleep. Humming in response, you continued to caress his face, just as sleepy as he was.
Blindly drawing closer to his own face, your lips collided with his forehead causing your boyfriend to scrunch up his face again at the sudden affection.
" What're you doing...? " Oh and what a sight to behold when Kanata was sleepy... When you peeked your eyes open to look at your sleepy boyfriend who was far too tired to make any jabs at you for basically slapping him just moments earlier but god was he so pretty even when he was too tired to open his eyes.
" Just kissin' my pretty boyfriend. " You gave a sleepy smile that he wouldn't see with his eyes closed. Hearing him sigh and wiggle himself away from you to try and flip over to continue his sleep, you moved your hand from his face to his waist, pulling him back into you so he couldn't turn away.
" Well, stop it.. Tryna sleep over here, you know... " He spoke in an angry tone, well, as angry as he could sound with sleepiness still lacing his voice. Moving in your face again, you kissed his nose this time to which Kanata scrunched up his face again. Then his cheek. Then his jaw. Then he opened his eyes, an annoyed look plastered on his face. " Fine. I'm awake now. What'd you want? " He questioned, obviously expecting you to want something if you kept kissing him like that.
" Nothinggg~ " You teased, cupping his face again with a content smile as the sunlight stretched across the top of his head as it rose more into the blue sky. He sighed, mimicking your action of cupping his face to cupping yours. Leaning in, he kissed your lips. It wasn't a quick kiss either. No matter how tired he was, your lips were absolutely, undeniably something he'd never want to stop kissing.
As he pulled away, he left a quick nip on your bottom lip. " There. You happy now? " An unamused expression on his face.
" Very. " You smiled at him, leaning in for another kiss but you were stopped by him turning over away from you.
" Good. I'm going back to sleep. " You couldn't help but laugh at his statement, clearly masking his want for another kiss with the unspoken excuse that he was far too tired for it...
