Oh and on a last note... It's absolutely not required when making a website, but you should totally code on software that can let you push your edits to a platform like Codeberg, GitHub, Gitlab, or any other repository hosting website. Even if it's on a private repo (it doesn't need to be public at all!), that way you have somewhere where your code is backed up :)
Oh yeah, and I know this is Firefox Nation here, but don't skip out on testing your websites on Chromium and Safari (IF POSSIBLE for safari. On Safari MacOS, Safari iPadOS and Safari iOS because they're all different. But that's not required tho. I personally had more issues testing shit on Firefuxx due to 10 years old niche bugs that were reported but never fixed. Like once I had an issue where the floating art of my fursona was super stretched but only on Firefox i think. But i'm not here to talk abt my grievances with browsers).
You don't HAVE to, but personally, I care a lot abt making my website accessible on as many platforms as possible. And if you can, it doesn't hurt to cross test on other browsers :P
Hey, I really love your layout on neocities and wanted to ask if it's okay for me to take inspiration from it for my own layout? It wouldn't be a carbon copy or anything. I understand if you're not comfortable with this and I hope you're having a good day!
Hey there!
Sure thing friend! Go right ahead! Take all the inspo you want from it!
Heck, if you want to snoop thru my code, my entire website's code is available on Github! This way, if you want to check how I did something, you can go right in there and take the code pieces!
For some of the libraries I used, check out the credits page on my website.
To make the layout, I used Bootstrap 5. It also allowed me to make the website responsive. A great library to use! That or Tailwind if you're more of a Tailwind person. It's not required to make your mobile responsive, especially on Neocities where a lot of websites are meant to ressemble older websites, but it makes your pages accessible to mobile users! And it is possible to keep the spirit of your website while making it accessible for users on any platform!
I'm not as active on here, but if you do have any questions, please don't hesitate! Web development is my day job, and I love helping people get into coding! It's such a cool skill to have imo!

And some personal notes I want to add to this, separate from the general question
To me, code sharing and taking inspiration from others is a wonderful thing I'll always be for. Of course, stealing the entire code and using it for yourself isn't something I approve of, but also... I won't really do anything about it personally y'now. I'd appreciate credits at the very least.
Because honestly, a LOT of my knowledge, I gained by looking at others' code, using libraries and stuff. I wouldn't know nearly as much about coding, front-end and back-end, had I not looked over hundreds, if not thousands, of StackOverflow threads. Had I not snatched someone's code, looked at what they did (on private projects of course), and learned from it. Had I not gone on live websites and clicked "inspect element" to see what styles are on a specific element.
The design for my website is just a slightly modernized version of retro-style websites on Neocities, with more flat colors and responsive layout for mobile users. I took inspirations from them, and we all take inspirations from one another. So if someone uses my layout for inspiration, I'll be honored that someone saw my website, and was motivated to build their own to have their own corner on the internet, outside of social medias. If more people are incentivized to learn how to code, I'll be happy to share my design.
Tho I'll say.... If you take inspo from my design... I'd be happy if u added my button to your website too! And if you want me to add yours to my website, i'll be happy to do so as well!
(My button is on my website of course :P)

Figured some of you might like this :3
I've started reworking my old website a while back, made a brand new design for it, and I love it a lot! I feel some of you might as well!!
Best viewed on Desktop, but it is responsive (adapted for mobile devices). If you spot any bugs PLSSS tell me!!! My page doll was stretched on iPad for a month and none of my friends told me x.x
ANYWAYZZ Hope you like it! Feel free to leave a message in the chat box, or in the guestbook!!!

Amazing site I just discovered that archives girls' games from the 2000s
They've archived games from Barbie, Polly Pocket, Monster High, My Scene... the list goes on and on! It's overwhelming how much they have!! I think they've archived nearly every game for every category they have. And the best thing is, it's all online and you don't need Flash!
www.numuki.com/games/girls/
Bless whoever is maintaining this site, seriously. The nostalgia I got from replaying these games was so intense.
