azula + zuko headcanon!
I hc that Azula has shaw (the other dragon) as an emotional support animal/pet along with a phoenix, ball point python and chameleon. I believe that she would lead a dragon preservation project along with Zuko and it is working very well. The dragon population is rising and has tons of law protecting their lives. I hc Azula as a someone who hates animals like dogs, is okay with cats and birds and loves reptiles. She's a reptile girly. Mai is obsessed with azula's reptiles and so are Izumi, Bumi ii, Kya ii, and Kiyi. Ursa + Zuko are scared of the snake and azula always chases and touches them with the animals. They run everytime.

Azula headcanon
I think azula is actually pretty funny but in a sarcastic, ranty, storyteller, commentary kind of way! I think she makes people laugh unintentionally a lot but doesn't always get why they are laughing. She'll give an opinion about something or tell a story and people will laugh about the things she says and the way she says it. Sometimes she won't get why it's funny, but she enjoys making people laugh. I've seen people say that she isn't intentionally funny, but I think she definitely can be! She'd be funny in the same way toph is. She'd let her humorous side shine wayyy more after she heals more and develops more stable sense of self. Post healing, I think she'd be popular on social media for her humor, lifestyle, storytimes, life experiences, mental health, fashion, and opinions on the miscellaneous things in life!

Legend of Korra Lin Beifong hc!
Lin and Poppy (Toph's mother) would be really close! When Lin was younger, she would always want to visit her grandma and loved calling her. I hc that she called her ninie (nin-nee) instead of granny bc she couldn't pronounce granny right when she was younger and the name just stuck. Plus, poppy would not want to be called granny. I think the bond between poppy and Lin would make toph a bit uncomfortable and maybe even a little jealous bc poppy kinda just lets lin be herself, but she would be happy that Lin is happy and that her mom learned from her mistakes. Also, I think Lin was more on the girlier side than Toph so it helps her bond with poppy.

Katara would be so heartbroken! I feel like Lin would slip up and still call her mom sometimes and Katara would start beaming.
Everyone was so sure LinZin was endgame that Tenzin called Toph "mom" (which she tolerated), and Lin called Katara "mom" (which she loved).
When they broke up, Lin stopped calling Katara that. and it broke her heart again that she just lost another person close to her.

What are your headcanons for the fire family modern au?
Mostly all my modern au headcanons come from the fanfics I’ve read…which most of them consist in either them being owners of big companies lol. But I do have a phew on my own.
TW for Abuse!!
- I like to think that Ilah died in childbirth (like mostly all the fandom does lol) and Iroh being the one who took care of him as much he could, since Azulon was too depressed and neglectful to care about the baby.
- Iroh was meant to be the one who takes control of the company but when Lu Ten died, he just let Ozai to take care of it. Mostly like what happen in the canon.
- Azula tends to be alone in the big mansion, just taking Mai and Ty Lee for company.
- Following the previous one; Azula wants them to be on sleepovers most of the time so she doesn’t feel alone or invited them to vacations every summer.
- Zuko gets send to live with Iroh by Ozai, since he is basically an abusive ass who barely cared about him and since he knew that Iroh was depressed for Lu Ten’s death, he just manipulated him for it. Iroh is smart but he was vulnerable, y’know?
- Azula and Zuko have times where they go to Ursa’s hometown, showing how disconnected from reality they are.
- Ozai has them in a very strict academy, the slightest hint of imperfections gets with heavy punishments.
- Ozai is terrified of Azulon, he doesn’t show it but he can be nervous around him. He dies for his approval everytime.
- Along with the previous; Ozai is the type of jealous to be better than the other. Iroh has one son? He has two. Iroh owns a small business? Ozai owns a big company. You can get the idea I hope.

Firelady Ilah edition!
-I hc that Firelady Ilah was from the southern water tribe (angsty and unrealistic I know).
- She was plus sized and dark skinned (katara's complexion)
- She had feathery, wavy hair that was frequently worn in a messy bun when she had nothing to do
-she was pretty much always known to be in a good mood and always light up every room she walked into
-had a beautiful smile and infectious laugh
-always slept late into the day
-she treated the palace staff and her ladies in waiting like her friends and loved being around them
-the palace staff, ladies in waiting, and whole fire country in general loved her (kinda like how everyone loved Princess Diana)
-she was not afraid to put Azulon in his place if he was being rude or snappy
-was a buffer between Azulon's attitude and other people
-was an amazing mother and is the reason Iroh has the emotional intelligence he has
-loved being pampered and was a huge foodie
-also loved doing tea parties and get togethers with her ladies in waiting and other noble women
-frequently went out to support local restaurants, plays, and other things in the fire nation
-was very generous and did a lot of philanthropy
-died having ozai but was excited to be pregnant with him
-she had an amazing relationship with lo and li
-was heavily mourned in the fire nation
-tried to push Azulon to be more progressive and peaceful w other nation (slowly but surely was working)
-azulon and her were deeply in love (sunshine girl + grumpy guy dynamic)
-she had a deep sultry singing and talking voice (think In the mood for love by Julie London) and had a wide singing range
-had an amazing sense of humor and always made people laugh
-very good at diffusing situations and did it a lot during meetings Azulon had
-amazing cook and loved singing and sewing
-her and azula look and act alike (before azula was groomed by ozai) and so many people see it
-loved mochi
-is regarded as the best Firelady post sozin era
-was short (min 5'0 max 5'4)
-mai takes a lot of notes of how Ilah was with others and tries to be like her

azula headcanon from @mugentakeda dai li au!
azula goes to live with lu ten + jiro (my fav oc of @mugentakeda!) after finding out what her dad did to lu ten. I don't think she would want to stay w him and I don't think lu ten would let her. According to the dai li au, lu ten walks Iroh like a dogggg so if lu ten can tear Iroh up he can def handle ozai. Azula feels conflicted bc of all the emotional abuse and grooming she's experienced from ozai but she ultimately chooses lu ten regardless of feeling a lot of fear. I feel like ozai tries to intimidate her into going against lu ten but lu ten quickly nips it in the bud and protects azula.

azula's mental health issues last her whole life. I think she continues to struggle with derealization, hallucinations, and paranoia for the rest of her life. I hc that whenever it gets really bad she has to temporarily live with someone (zuko, mai, maybe even iroh) or go into psychiatric care. It bothers her but her family is always so caring and compassionate whenever it gets bad.

azula headcanon goddess edition!
I think that when azula dies, she will become the sun! I see a lot of people always make her the goddess of chaos and destruction and zuko the sun, but I honestly think she would be the Sun. When she dies, she turns into Agni herself and strikes up a relationship with Yue (it's up to you if it's platonic or romantic, I say romantic).

fire nation royal family headcanon
I've wrote this in before as an anonymous hc to another blog, but ozai, michi, ukano (mai's parents), and zhao had a rock band that was actually pretty good when they were younger. I say like 14-18. Ozai was the main vocalist, michi played the drums and sung from time to time, ukano played bass guitar while zhao played the electric. I hc that mai's mom was a trad goth back in her teens, ukano was punk, while zhao and ozai were mainly grunge. Their records were popular with people around their age and are now considered lost media that are remembered but can't be found.

azula is def the child-free friend/family member who acts like she can't stand to be around the kids but all the kids love her. She's like a kid magnet and baby whisper and it actually freaks her out. Anytime zuko & mai (I hc that mai is izumi's mom) need a break they always give izumi to azula. She'll be like "Ugh, stop giving me y'all's child 🙄" but will never tell them no. She's the bougie, rich aunt for sure.

Ozai and Iroh's relationship was not completely toxic when they were kids. They had some competition and arguments but I don't think Ozai hated him like he does when he's older. I think they may have gotten into an argument and that's really when Ozai started to hate Iroh. I think he started to truly hate Iroh around 16-17. I also think Iroh didn't take the disdain Ozai had for him seriously until Ozai had kids.
