"I usually am not one to roam the streets of Glimmerbrook, especially when it's still dusk, but ever since I heard of its newest residence, I admit I was rather curious as to who this new resident was. No... no, she didn't look like the type to be a trickster... if anything, she seemed like a gentle and fragile soul... She looked like an angel sitting there... in that beautiful lavender dress... Carla has a hard time pronouncing the word probability. She tends to babble it sometimes and it's not on purpose. I think she gets a little tongue tied with that word.

Kaori awoke to the room's enveloping silence, her gaze falling upon Yumi sleeping beside her. Questions flooded her mind: Where was she? How long had she been unconscious? As Yumi stirred awake, relief washed over her best friend at Kaori's regained consciousness. Although Kaori felt the urge to cry, she held back, not wanting to add to Yumi's worry. Yumi explained that Kaori had been unconscious for nearly four hours, mostly due to not eating enough. Despite her frustration, Yumi's concern was palpable; she couldn't bear to watch Kaori suffer like this. With determination, Yumi promised to support Kaori through her struggles and help her recover.
