Swatch by Swatch

I created 8 swatches overall with variations between crochet, weaving and an implementation of both.

1) Round woven swatch:

For this swatch I specifically purchased a square loom so I could create a round woven pattern. Luckily enough, the loom came with instructions on how to do so, so I just followed them. (I basically just followed this image.)

2) Spiral crochet swatch

For this swatch I watched a YouTube tutorial on how to create a spiral pattern and continued it to enlarge it. (It won't let me add links)

3) Mandala crochet swatch

I also followed a YouTube video for this one. I consisted of q lot of double crochets with chains between them to allow for the circular shape. This is a common feature in coasters made from granny squares.

4) Woven herringbone swatch

I used 2 different videos to create this swatch. First I used a video to show me how to correctly fasten the warp toy loom, as well as a way of weaving the first row of my went to secure the tension of the rest of my piece. I then used another video for the herringbone pattern.

5) Woven crochet swatch (basket weave)

I followed a video for this swatch as well. It is essentially crochet made to look like a woven piece.

6) Woven crochet swatch (celtic weave)

Surprisingly, I followed another YouTube video for this. It took a lot of trial and error and has by far been the most difficult crochet stitch I have learned to date. However, I feel as though it paid off in the end.

7) Crochet popcorn stitch swatch

I also followed a video for this stitch as I couldn't remember how to do it properly.

8) Crochet puff stitch swatch

I created this swatch from memory as I used it in a previous project before. It consists of a magic circle and 4 double crochets in each stitch to create the puffs. I made each of the circles individually and sewed them together to allow for more individual movement in the piece.

I crocheted stained glass.

The pattern is NOT by me; you can find the tutorial here. However this is my prototype, and I am so blown away by how nicely it turned out on the first try.

For the morning folks!

I love this motif. It is the Hexagon Rose from 100 Micro Motifs by Steffi Glaves. I asked my bf Em to pick out a set of 5 colors and these are the ones he picked. I arranged them (and added one more for a nice finishing touch).

Here's the detail for the center dangle. Glass, shell, and amethyst beads with plated alloy findings! Suspended on a steel ring. I gifted it to Em when it was done!

This was my first version of this design. I enjoyed this so much that I want to do lots more!

I donated the bottom one to the local Empty Bowls event that is coming up in a couple of weeks! They're doing a silent auction to support the local food bank.

I offer customs for these! I have an order form in my bio.

Not sure how I missed posting this one, it's been done for a little bit as well

This was a neat design I found for the end of a bookmark and I thought I'd make a couple and see how they turned out. It's vaguely skull-like but I don't hate it 🤷‍♀️

I have been on a kick with blue colors. Gonna break out of that with my next couple of pieces loll
