is it a controversial topic to say that making the reader's appearance overly detailed, giving them a title and a overly detailed backstory (mary sue backstory often), focusing more on their pov which reveals their personality heavily that some readers would NOT relate too, not making it poc friendly, saying it's gn but using personal pronouns and characters calling them gender specific nicknames (princess/ baby girl...etc), is it controversial to say you didn't write an x reader fanfic but an x OC and you're tricking us to read it?? lmfao i think people have the right to be mad ESPECIALLY if it's not gn or poc friendly when you claimed it was... like i love writers and i appreciate the works ALL of you are putting yall are awesome for giving us this fanfics but PLEASE BFR
if your (y/n) is someone the reader can't relate to it's not x reader. simple as that. idk why ppl are scared of saying this.
PS; i deleted a stupid reply that got mad at x black!reader for being exclusively for black people when black/poc friendly fanfics are already a minority when the harmful majority is very european centered (white people specifically) and even very anti black in some cases. don't twist my post to be fucking racist/sexist/homophobic/fatphobic or ableist because that's not what i'm talking about at all ffs. to the poc and other minority creators who are writing for their people and for unconventional, non-white beauty standards i love you, you're amazing and a straight up war veteran in some of these fandom, geez. PS 2; i didn't want to address this but, some people pointed out that writing ambiguos x reader is impossible and hard. that's not the case at all, look at the most popular fanfics in a fandom x reader. they ARE ambiguous and general stuff! such as jealousy headcanons, general dating headcanons, prompts, general kinks or the like.... why? because you didn't give the reader too many details or made them mfing black widow or madoka kaname, who'll be relating to that???? you might say "oh i'm writing for myself" or "this is my self-insert don't like it don't read" cool, we all have self-inserts. stop tagging it as x reader however. that's it. tags exist for a reason, and you not using it properly is your problem not the readers who have been misled.

I read what other people opposing this post said and I absolutely get how difficult it is to write for ambiguous readers. I'm deeply sorry for making it seem as though I'm berating writers when I don't share my work here on tumblr. My post was NOT meant to insult creative writing OR to say that putting the slightest bit of detail on your headcanons, fanfics, scenarios etc is a terrible thing because I assure you it's NOT. But please for the love of god tag your work correctly. THAT'S IT. And give warnings and heads ups about what your writing contains. If it has fem!reader only tag it as fem!reader, if there's mention of physical characteristics specific to one race others or group may not relate to PLEASE give a warning. I know the content here on tumblr is free and I like many here are SUPER grateful for it.
I don't appreciate entitled readers and ik how frustrating it is to get backlash from something that you do for free and it brings you immense joy, but please remember your work is also public and by that it WILL be subjected to criticism and feedback however it may be. And of course I'd never support harrassment or rudeness on any party giving or receiving feedbacks.
Remember that tags and warnings exist for a reason and you're free to write WHATEVER as long as you publicize it keeping in mind the target audience you're reaching. Of course people will not be happy if you state your work is something that ultimately isn't. But imo if you give a prior information then no one should harrass or demand of you anything. This post was made to address the lack of honestly with certain content, the non-poc friendly fanfics and MY PERSONAL OPINIONS. You're free to agree and you're free to disagree.
I read the replies and tags and I understand both sides of the argument, but I also needed to clarify what this post is NOT about. Of course any harrassment or rude comments will be ignored. You're free to have your opinions and preferences and free to say them as long as it isn't problematic.
I also removed the x reader because I understand how it would be hypocritical of me but I truly needed to get people's opinions on a wider scale. Again I apologize if I offended everyone and if I came off as rude or entitled i promise you that's not the case, And you can't even say I think the fanfics should be centered around me since most with the unconventional beauty standards and personality within them do not match me in any way and that's okay 💁♀️

He definitely loves to hear you ramble about the smallest things while looking so excited, he finds it amusing how the smallest things make you happy
He's also very intrigued by your cheerfulness, like how can u be so happy and energetic all the time?
He enjoys being around you,it's like your aura heals him
After a long day being a stellar on hunter and coming home to you being all excited over him it puts his mind at ease, he knows he's wanted and loved by someone
He also enjoys the fact that his darling tries to understand him and is always caring about his well being
Like whenever he isn't feeling well he only needs to hear his darlings voice and he would so much better already, he appreciates the fact that his darling cares enough to try understanding him,it makes him feel really accepted
At times he doesn't even understand how he deserves such a caring person to fuss over him.

Platonic Nahida friendship headcanons with Fem! reader. SFW
This is by request for my dear @kichikichiko I make reference to two of my very favorite Nahida idle animations. Here is the pitch and I hope you enjoy, dear.
You were the first person that ever attempted to be Nahida's friend.
She wasn't sure how to handle your spontaneous friendship with her. But you were the first person to help her understand the idea of friendship.
Nahida found herself clinging to you and your friendship for her. It was a strange feeling for her. But a comforting one.
Would constantly make paper animals or whatever you wanted out of Dendro for you. She loved that it made you smile, especially if you were feeling sad.
She would teach you about botany and dreams.
She would draw you children's stories.
You and Nahida would spend hours talking to each other about whatever, whether it be about the weather, or about the day you had.
You liked to sit in her swing.
She would even push you sometimes so you could have fun.
Nahida did this a lot if you were feeling down.
You would help her out in her duties as an Archon. Helping her relay messages to people, making sure she had everything she needed, especially a pen and paper.
You liked listening to her knowledge and wisdom. You applied a lot of it in your life and it helped shape who your were as a person.

Alhaitham doesn’t know what to do with himself. He should, he definitely should. But what can he do when you’re infesting his mind? He wants you to get out; get out of his thoughts before it’s too late; before it’s too late to do anything about it. But how could he? When he sees your smile, even your face, even when someone mentions your name, the thought of laying with you in his arms will penetrate the barriers he’s built up. Built up after years, or maybe built in his nature, he doesn’t seem to care what people think of him. But you’re different. It’s frustrating.
Him against the world. Alhaitham knows this is an arrogant view (one that he would never stand by), but he understands why people may think of him that way. What do you do when you’re called a genius from such a young age, apart from relishing in the praise and waiting for it to subside? When such scholarly brains are picked apart by external factors, your own thoughts become your worst enemies. Alhaitham knows what this feels like, experienced what it’s like, would wish it on no person. Maybe that’s why he’s so closed off, seems so uncaring, says things so matter-of-factly. If he has to treat everyone equally, the easiest thing to do is to treat them objectively, so why are you the exception to that?
You’ve never had to face the same obstacles other people have had to deal with when talking to him; he’d never put them up in the first place. Never for you, anyway. Yet you’ve never noticed this; never noticed how his eyes gleam with an unbearable fondness that twinkles whenever you’re around, or how they soften in adoration whenever he catches himself staring. Alhaitham hasn’t noticed this either- in a perpetual state of denial- blaming it on your addicting presence, blaming it on the fact he can’t seem to stay away for too long, lest he begin to miss the way you speak, the way you laugh, the way his heart thumps quicker in response.
Alhaitham finds himself to be uncharacteristically quiet in your presence. Normally, he’s always there to find a quick comment, something to keep the conversation going in a way that’s textbook charismatic. But when he joins you for a walk, your path lit by faint moonlight, stars twinkling and leaves rustling, he’s as quiet as the clouds in the night sky, silently, yet valiantly moving alongside your strides. You’re quiet, as well. He doesn’t seem to mind. There’s a certain sereness, being able to walk with you, and being able to admire you from such a short distance away, he has to bite his tongue and resist the urge to utter how mesmerising he finds you, your face dappled by the moonlight. For now, though, he takes your hand instead. You don’t resist, but instead look up at him. Alhaitham’s looking up at the stars, his heart beating.
You and him. Him and you. He can’t think of any better way to live. And maybe he’s in too deep; maybe he’s succumbed to his feelings; maybe he’s found that he likes holding your hand too much. He likes the way your fingers interlock, palms touching, hands squeezing. It’s his way of promising you infinity. Infinity, for any little less would be too little for someone like you, taking up too much space in his mind that he doesn’t seem to mind as much as he should. Alhaitham thirsts for knowledge, so it bothers him when he can’t figure out why he’s feeling so much for just one person. You make him feel something, something so extraordinarily amazing, something that makes him want to profess,
“I’d do anything to hold your hand, over and over again.”
So when his eyes meet yours, or when he clasps your hand in his, know that you have his pounding heart forever. Because you make him feel, you’ve made him care more about your wellbeing than that of his own, a feat not to be dismissed. Because you’ve trapped him; trapped him in his own web of devotion and undying loyalty. And he doesn’t know what to do with himself, and he knows that he wants to kiss you.
And maybe he wants nothing more than to take a walk with you, stars gleaming overhead, and promise you the knowledge that he’ll stay by your side forevermore.

breathtaking. If anything, Heizou never wants you to forget how it feels whenever he kisses you. Sometimes he'll just straight up kiss you out of the blue without any warnings. Though becoming startled every damn time he catches you off guard, you can't help it but feel the heat rise up your cheeks.
Whenever Heizou does pull a stunt like that, the kiss is more energetic than anything else and he's always using his tongue, probably doesn't even know how not to use it at this point. It's all about teasing you and making you crave for more to him, that's just something he'll never stop doing.
But, lets think about following scenario, the both of you are laying on the grass accompanied by various animals which all live around inazuma city. Heizou will prop himself up with his arm as you lock gazes. He's advancing towards your face and placing your chin in between his thumb and pointer finger, slowly but surely moving you to where he needs you the most, his soft lips waiting patiently until they finally taste you.

It was one of Xiao's favorite spots to sit and meditate on and once you looked at him, he met your gaze in lightning speed and before he was able to say anything to you to break the silence, you placed your hand on his cheek carefully while rubbing around circles with your thumb. Xiao's face had the color of red painted across his features but he didn't move away rather relished into the feeling of your touch and that's when you decided to take the chance to place a small yet firm kiss on his lips.
Xiao pulled back for a minute to look at you with an almost dumbstruck expression but then immediately went back to meet your lips again as this was certainly the most passion filled kiss you have ever witnessed in your life.
