I’m so sorry to intrude but I’m just wondering if there will be another part of your Jake x reader x neytiri series (ps I’m so sorry if I’m pushing and intruding on whatever personal business you have if you don’t want to you don’t even have to answer at all🫶)
Thank you have a great day❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹
this is not intruding at all! i was hoping someone would bring it up eventually. and yes, there will be another part to the story, around the time i posted chapter six was the time where i had a lot of thing’s going on with my mental health so i kinda stopped writing for the time being. but hopefully, i will stop procrastinating and get another chapter written. if you want to keep up with me and find new things out about my dr, i suggest following my dr’s pinterest board! our fortress— chapter six
Tumblr media
paring: jake sully × "reader/oc" x neytiri
summary: “…try as she might, ney'ite will never truly become part of the omaticaya clan."
warnings: some crude jokes, norm's sad ass (i kinda feel bad), swearing, no fluff sorry, not proofread, LOWERCASE INTENDED
word count: 1,407
note: just wanna say neytiri sister, sylwanin is not in this story and some of her “parts” are taken over by ney’ite. alright so it’s sorta revealed both ney’ite and neytiri used to go to grace’s school but something obviously made them stop coming so hopefully that’ll be revealed soon enough. (look at me, making assumptions about my own story 🤭🤭) we also have jake inquiring about ney’ite and neytiri a little more and it is also revealed tsu’tey thinks of ney’ite as his sister and that they have a strong bond (referenced in other chapters) so hopefully that’s explored more in later chapters! thanks for all the comments and kudos! -- i write mostly about scenarios going to happen in my dr (haven't shifted yet), if you think it's weird, please either keep it to yourself or message me in private, there are actually people that like this type of content and i'm writing for them. btw comments/requests are open! this is also posted on ao3 under the same name, if you see this anywhere else. please tell me :)
important: i do not allow my work to be copied, republished, translated, or reproduced. please do not use this story on wattpad or on other platforms. respect the author's work <33
"jake! jake!" god, my ears are ringing, eyes blurring, but now clearing up. the last thing i remember slowly falling asleep with the na'vi, in my avatar body. though i was begin to wake up i start to feel i'm back in my human body, fucking bitch.
"come on back kid. come on," it's a very feminine but harsh voice, grace, i figure quietly, shes slapping and wiggling face around. i harshly gasp, finally coming back into it.
"there you go. there you go, there you go," she assures, i gasp and cough as grace continues to stand over me, "you're okay. you're okay."
i laugh throatily, already feeling the sweat beginning to form on my lethargic-ridden body. i feel hands start to pull me up out of the link pod, grace, max, and norm all have to pull my body to sit up, "damn! you were dug in like a tick."
i gasp, trying to catch my breath, stretching my neck and attempting to stretch out all of my non-paralyzed joints.
"is the avatar safe?" grace asks, looking to jake with serious eyes.
"yeah, doc," i pant, "and you're not gonna believe where i am," i smile and laugh unbelievably.
grace smiles, satisfied, and takes a step back, allowing me to breath. i take a deep breath, my chest expanding to its full capacity, my heart pounding from within it. i take a moment to remember the beauty of the pandora's moon, its many stars and orange sky, completely mesmerizing me.
max and norm look at me with an expectant look, and grace looks at me with one eyebrow raised, "three words, big. ass. tree." i finish with a grin. the three laugh in amazement and disbelief, and a wide smile spreads over grace's face.
"you're kidding!" they all look at me with wonder and awe.
"the last thing we see is this marine's ass disappearing into the bush with this angry thanator coming after him," grace excitedly describes, elbows on the table, leaning forward. many of the soldiers at the table laugh haughtily.
"hey it's not something you can teach," i smile with my mouth full, holding a spoon and a bowl of lucky charms cereal, still in the midst of chewing.
"that is awesome!" one of them says.
"you know, for reasons i cannot fathom, the omaticaya have chosen you. god help us all," grace jokingly says laughing, others at the table joining her.
with an indicator of bewilderment, general quaritch inquires, "jarhead clan?"
he snickers before asking, "and it worked?"
"hey, I'm practically family," i exclaimed, my arms raised in amazement before i leaned my elbows on the large table that was situated in the center of the room.
"they're gonna study me. i have to learn to be one of them," i say in an flip-off kind of tone.
"that's called taking the initiative, son," quaritch points to me while starting to turn from the table, "i wish i had 10 more like you."
"look sully. sully," parker calls my attention back to him from across the table, "just find out what the blue monkeys want."
with my hands on the wheels of my wheelchair, they then going back to stretching over the rails of the table, parker begins speaking, "you know, i mean, we try to give them medicine, education, roads."
"but no no no, they like mud," parker deadpans, holding his hand to his hip, "and and, that wouldn't bother me, it's just that they're uh..."
parker motions his hands over the holographic images sitting above the large table, urging one of the men next to him to move the images, showing pictures of the omaticaya forest, "hey, can you... can somebody just.. sector twelve."
"okay.. go, go, go, stop. stop..." the map scans right over the forest until it passes upon something i can't quite make out, "rich stop! that's... jesus."
"their damn village happens to be resting on the richest unobtanium deposit," my eyes settle on the big tree visually showing in front of me as parker continues to speak, "...within 200 klicks in any direction. i mean, look at all that cheddar!"
parker laughs obnoxiously and quite weirdly might i add, smiling crazily, "so who gets them to move?" i ask generally wanting to know.
quaritch pipes up from behind me, "guess," i laugh while staring intently on my hands sitting in front on me, "what if they won't go?"
  "i'm betting that they will,"
"okay, okay, okay, okay, hey. look. look," parker comes to stand beside me, looking down to meet my eye level, my eyes watching him in a hard manner, "killing the indigenous looks bad, but there's one thing that shareholders hate more than bad press, and that's a bad quarterly statement. i didn't make up the rules. so just find me a carrot that'll get them to move, otherwise it's gonna have be all stick, okay?"
"you got three months," quardich interjects, "that's when the 'dozers get there."
"well we're wasting time," i look up to parker as he hits my shoulder, starting to walk to the other end of the table, "i like this guy."
"okay, lets run through them again," grace holds a semi see-through tablet up to my face while i myself am rolling into the link lab, norm following behind us.
  "mo'at. dragon lady."
  "eytucan."
"eytukan," grace corrects me, "he's the clan leader."
i roll up to my link pod as grace continues to explain, "but she's the spiritual leader. like a shaman."
"got it," i turn to face the tablet as norm leans his arm on the top of my link machine, "t'su'tey," i ready myself before pushing up into the machine.
"tsu'tey," grace corrects again before i correctly say again, "tsu'tey."
"he'll be the next clan leader," grace clicks the next button, turning to the next slide, i take the tablet into my hands before correctly saying, "ney'ite."
"you're catching up, great. you lay a hand on her, he'll fuck you up. super protective," grace clicks to the next slide before leaning back and putting a hand on her hip.
"neytiri," i say confidently, "she'll be the next tsahik," grace explains, "listen, a clan always has to have a tsahik and a olo'eyktan. as much as neytiri will try to fight for ney'ite to be up there with her, they never will truly trust an outsider."
"but i thought she was still..?" i question.
"that's true, she's still na'vi, but she is from the metkayina, the sea clan. all clans of na'vi have their own unique cultures and traditions. try as she might, ney'ite will never truly become part of the omaticaya clan."
"anyway, ney'ite and neytiri are a mated pair, you touch one, the other ones gonna rip your throat out."
i chuckle softly, "wow, you have such faith."
grace smiles sarcastically, before i once again draw my thoughts back to a certain topic, "so who's this ewya?"
"who's ewya?" norm pipes up, exclaiming unbelievable, i turn my head as he starts to speak to me.
"only their deity. their goddess, made up of all living things. everything they know!" he makes a rather snarky comment, i had a feeling he felt a little jealous of how i was getting all the attention, he was the scientist after all, and i was just a paraplegic taking his spotlight, it reminded me of tommy and i.
"you'd know this if you had any training whatsoever," i decided to mess with him by making a joke, i lift the screen to show neytiri then pressing the back button to the slide that shows ney'ite, "who's got a date with the chief's daughters?" i smirk.
"come on. that's..." norm pathetically tries to defend himself, but his arguments fall on deaf ears as grace takes the tablet from my hands.
"knock it off. it's like kindergarten around here," i smile at norm who’s across the room as i pull my frozen-in-time legs up into the machine.
"ney'ite was my best student, her and neytiri. just amazing girls," grace reminisces, staring at the screen of the tablet before moving her eyes to the panel controlling the link pod.
"let's go! village life starts early," grace averts the conversation quickly, pushing the inner layer to cover my chest, leaning over me, "don't do anything unusually stupid."
smiling, i close the external casing of the pod, inhaling and exhaling slowly. here we go.

word count: 1,567
note: i don't really like this chapter 😭 but it's gonna get better promise! also, i'm probably going to switch between ney'ite and jake's pov just bc if i do it all in ney'ite's pov, the story's gonna be pretty short, so yeah. bare with me! i write mostly about scenarios going to happen in my dr (haven't shifted yet), if you think it's weird, please either keep it to yourself or message me in private, there are actually people that like this type of content and i'm writing for them. btw comments/requests are open! this is also posted on ao3 under the same name, if you see this anywhere else. please tell me :)

we stop and turn around to see him falling off several branches before finally landing on level ground. as we turn towards him, shocked, before running back to him as he grabs the rope capturing his feet. we all look to the sound of hooves on the forest floor as a group of our clans finest warriors ride out on pa'li.
the man stands, shocked, before pulling out a knife and sharply turning around but the warrior's surround and clammer around him with arrows, prepared to strike at any movement.
he turns around once more but other warriors blocks his path on their direhorses. he holds his hands up in that 'i don't mean harm symbol but i don't think he actually means it because the time that neytiri and i make our way down to where they are, he laughs sarcastically, sighing an, "okay."
neytiri and i jump off a branch onto where the na'vi are surrounding the man, neytiri shouting out a loud, “mawey, na'viya! mawey!” which translates to, ‘calm people. calm.’
tsu'tey finally comes into view, disconnecting his tsaheylu from his pali before starting to walk to us. neytiri meets him halfway with a, "what are you doing tsu'tey?"
"these demons are forbidden here." tsu'tey speaks.
"there has been a sign," i finally speak up. "this is a matter for the tsahlik."
tsu'tey looks to me before grunting, annoyed, he never could resist my asks.
he looks to the man then back to me before turning back to his pali and speaking, "bring him," to his other warriors. as the others start to surround the dreamwalker, "what's going on?" he asks as tsu'tey connects his tsaheylu back to his pali and galloping away.
"wait," he speaks before being shoved along behind tsu'tey, "what's happening?" he now urgently asks us. neytiri and i don't reply as we interlock our hands and follow behind the warriors.
tsu'tey’s warriors on pali's ride in front of us and when we finally get close to hometree, they lift their spears and let out war cry's that i presume are for the other na'vi in the clan be alerted to their presence. we cut passed the warriors and the man to be in front of them as the rest of the clan spreads a path to let us pass.
i can tell by the rest of the clan's body language that they're on edge but curious about the man's role and why we were bringing him into our (like second) most sacred place.
neytiri and i walk powerfully in front, leading the man to the front of the spiral stairs leading up to different levels in hometree. neytiri lets go of my hand and turns towards the man in order to harshly grab his bicep. eytukan looks up from where he was conversing with another na'vi just in time to see neytiri walk the man up to him. "father..." she speaks.
"i see you," she says, gesturing her two pointer and middle finger to her head in a affectionate greeting. "eytukan, i see you," i do the same while walking up to stand beside neytiri, i'll admit it, i certainly haven't connected with eytukan as much of a father figure as i have with mo'at as a mother figure. but i was still expected to be respectful, especially to the leader of the clan i was residing in, much less the father of the woman i was mated with.
eytukan walks down and walks up to the dreamwalker, daring his eyes to challenge the other man’s, though the only 'greeting' the man does is nod his head to eytukan.
"this creature..." he finally speaks in na'vi making his way back to stand in front of neytiri and i, "why do you bring him here?"
"i was going to kill him..." she spoke, holding a hand to her stomach, "but there was a sign from eywa," she continues.
"i have said..." eytukan contradicts, "no dreamwalker will come here."
"what's he saying?" the man pipes up, as eytukan speaks, "his alien smell fills my nose."
"hey, what's he saying?" the man asks again, i turn my head slightly before speaking, "our father is deciding whether to kill you."
"your father. it's nice to meet you sir," the man observes before moving to hold out his hand in a greeting before a bunch of warriors surround him and tsu'tey walks forward in a threatening manner, baring his fangs.
i hiss, barring my fangs as well before harshly pushing him back into the arms of surrounding warriors. "step back!" neytiri and i sharply look to the stairs in which our mother is walking down, "i will look at this alien."
"that is mother," neytiri says, looking down, i follow her lead as mo'at walks, observing the man. neytiri continues, "she is tsahlik. the one who interprets the way of eywa."
"who's eywa?" the man looks over to us as mo'at continues to make a full circle around him, lightly brushing his shoulder, grabbing his braid and inspecting it, and grabbing his tail.
"what are you called?" she speaks, deep and powerful meaning to such simple words.
  "jake sully."
mo'at takes the freshly sharpened knife from her holder, sitting on her chest before striking the man's chest. she takes the knife and slides it across her tongue.
"why do you come to us?" she asks.
"i came to learn," the man-- jake sully responds.
putting her knife back into the holder hanging around her neck, she says, "we have tried to teach other sky people."
"it is hard to fill a cup in which is already full."
"well, my cup is empty, trust me." he smirks, "just ask dr augustine. i'm no scientist."
  "what are you?"
jake licks his lips before speaking, "i was a marine. a..." he pauses before continuing, "a warrior of the jarhead clan."
"a warrior!" we hear, turning towards tsu'tey as he begins to run forward, "i could kill him easily!" eytukan holds a hand to his chest in a motion that's holding his back from charging.
  "no!" mo'at speaks.
"this is the first warrior dreamwalker... we have seen," eytukan speaks to the whole clan.
"we need to learn more about him," i notice tsu'tey's ears flip back and side-eye eytukan from where he's standing beside him.
"my daughters..." mo'at comes to us speaking, "you will teach him our way..." neytiri hisses loudly before mo'at continues, "to speak and walk as we do."
i get flashbacks to the first time i met mo'at and neytiri speaks the exact same words as that day, "why me? that's not fair..." mo'at holds up a halting hand, neytiri hissing and stomping a foot in petulance. i smile at her as a form of reassurance, her eyes lighting up just a little bit.
"it is decided. my daughters will teach you our ways," mo'at walks up to the man, "learn well jakesully."
"then we will see if your insanity can be cured."
the clan is chattering along as we make our way up hometree's steps to the level in which we eat on; neytiri and i walk confidently through the heaps of na'vi crouched down. as we enter, the talking starts to die down as this jakesully follows behind us.
"good evening," he speaks, "please don't get up," he says while waving his hand and  walking towards where neytiri and i our standing, along the way, stepping on a few tails. neytiri pushes on his arm when he's near, pushing him further until he's squatting on the ground.
i watch as neytiri walks forward to grab our food, when i turn my head i see jake conversating with a na'vi man beside him.
"hey, how you doing?" he asks, the little girl beside him, presumably his daughter starts to hold her hand out to touch him, with a smile on her face, her father pushes her back, speaking a warning out to the girl in na'vi.
i tune out just in time to see neytiri walk back with heaps of food wrapped in leaves, she squats, handing one to me and one to the man, "thank you," he says. at least he knows manners.
"you know, i don't even know your names," he speaks, directing to us.
"neytiri te ckaha mo'at’ite," neytiri talks fast, i smile as i remember the day she said those exact same words to me.
the man chuckles nervously, "again, a whole lot slower?" he then looks to me, "what about you?"
  "ney'ite," i speak.
  "neytiri," she says slower.
  "neytili, neytie," he tries.
"neytiri," she pronounces slowly, "ney'ite.." she says again.
"neytiri, ney'ite," he says slowly, "it's nice to meet you neytiri and ney'ite."
  "it's nice..."
neytiri and i walk along the big branches holding our hammocks up, neytiri jumps down into our hammock and holds her hand out for me, i slide down into the hammock, starting to settle down into neytiri arms.
i slightly open my eyes to see jake jump in the hammock next to us, he turns to us with his head on his elbow, i feel neytiri flip us over so that she can brush the strings of the hammock with her light feathery touch, turning us away from the man.
i rest my head on the warm bare skin of her breast, while she gently nestles me under her body. love cocoon, i think sweetly...

note: yeah, yeah, yeah ik ik, summaries are usually supposed to be the middle of a text or sometimes even the end will be the summary, but this was the only paragraph i thought was worth being the summary. this came out a little late than i wanted it to but i was too busy actually writing it that i was just like, “yeahhh, i’m done. i’ll just split chapter four up.” soooo here we are :)) also this “cliffhanger” is like- not that good 😭😭 but i just didn’t want this to be one big looooong chapter. i write mostly about scenarios going to happen in my dr (haven't shifted yet), if you think it's weird, please either keep it to yourself or message me in private, there are actually people that like this type of content and i'm writing for them. btw comments/requests are open! this is also posted on ao3 under the same name, if you see this anywhere else. please tell me :)

we were gliding, our ikrans letting out pleasurable sqeaks and squeals while we let out a series of joyous clicks and high-pitched yelps. soaring above all else, in the clouds of the hallelujah mountains. we ride.
she looks over and, god, she's unanimously beautiful. her eyes, full of joy and wonder for the world around her. she looks at me like i'm the most precious and treasureous being in the world.
we land our ikrans on a tree trunk, the claws of our ikrans dig into the moss of the tree. we look over at each other stunned for a moment as we had just experienced our most thrilling ride together before smiling widely and laughing through our fangs. we hopped down from our saddles before she pulled me by my waist as i tried to walk away. i squealed as she pulled me to her front, giggling like madmen, she turned me around before raising an azure-colored hand to my face and pulling me into a kiss.
we pulled apart for a breath and smiled at each other, "come," she commanded softly before turning back to seze and grabbing her bow and putting it across her chest before running off through the trees.
i shake my head fondly before grabbing my spear off my ikran, zy’lete, i follow after her quickly.
we run through the branches of the trees, playing like the children of the clan before our ears take flight and go into airplane mode, we look down to see a larger na'vi man sporting human clothes, a dreamwalker, i thought bitterly. the man seemed to be manning a knife and sharpening a large stick into a handmade spear.
we lean down on the branch of the tree until our chests touch the scratchy moss of the branch, neytiri starts to lean upwards as the guy starts to walk under the branch we're sitting on, sporting his 'spear' around. she pulls her bow from behind her and starts to pull the bow, with the arrow back to aim at the na'vi male. i put a hand on her arrow to stop her, she looks at me for a moment before looking to where my eyes are trained.
a woodsprite comes floating into view, we both softly drop our hands and neytiri drops her bow and arrow. we grabbed each other's hands before jumping down and softly jumping off the branch and following very quietly behind him.
just as the viper wolves felt provoked enough to attack the na'vi man, neytiri hissed softly before jumping down the branch we were then currently residing on. she runs out of the shadows with her bow and shoots one of the wolves that had made it's way onto the man's chest and was fighting with it.
he doesn't realize the wolf had been shot, the man flipping it onto it's back and was in the process of lifting his fist to punch the wolf until he sees the yellow and blue arrow.
he looks up, shocked, before looking around and landing his eyes on neytiri who jumps down from a rock, shooting another arrow, her legs pulling close to her body in an almost split kind of way. i watch from the trees above as neytiri uses the head of her bow to swing her body and fling the viper wolf away. the man watches, as well, as she continues to swing her bow and body to fling the wolves away.
i tense and pull my legs into a swatting manner, reading to jump down as a wolf flips her over so that she rolls down an incline, but neytiri acts faster, pulling a sharp knife from her waist pocket near her loincloth and stabbing the wolf multiple times until it lays still beneath her hands.
she continues swinging left and right, knocking and surprising the vaper wolves enough that they start to run back into the woods, she takes one last swing of her bow before letting out a ferocious hiss to the backs of the running wolves. she huffs and hisses a couple more times before the man makes a sound that makes her swing her head around.
he stands in a weird, very human-like way, his knees not so bent it's considered a crouch, his head swiveling around like some of the toys the children of the clan play with, that moves it's head in a wobble-like motion.
neytiri turns around before slightly hissing and covering her eyes with her hand, releasing a curse in na'vi, she takes the end of the stick and chucks it into a nearby stream just as the dreamwalker man protests, "hey, wait. don't!"
i take this as the all clear as i jump down from the branch as the dreamwalker man startles, making fast movements. i hiss before going to the nearest body of a viper wolf, putting a hand on it's chest while saying a prayer to eywa before pulling the arrow out of it's body.
out of the corner of my eyes and ears i hear the man strike a sarcastic, "great," to neytiri before looking at me. i hear the whining of a viper wolf before hearing neytiri respectively put the animal's soul to rest.
the dreamwalker runs to pull his fire stick from the stream quickly, though i hear him find the other side of the stream. i quickly pull neytiri until we are on the other side with him. neytiri sees another viper wolf body and kneels down to pray over it, i join her, resting a hand over it's back end.
"look, i know you probably don't understand this, but thank you," he kneels down to our height, as i hiss at him in anger, he looks at me for a moment before shifting closer so that he's more in front of neytiri than me.
"thank you," he says again, as neytiri pulls the arrow from it's body, still praying. "that was pretty impressive," he laughs nervously as neytiri finally meets his eyes, heavy with rage and sadness.
"i would've been screwed if you hadn't come along. it was..." he trails off as i stand up, pulling neytiri with before turning in the opposite direction.
"hey, wait a second. hey, where you going?" he runs after us while we confidently walk through glowing plants and leaves while he is unsteady, careless on his feet.
  "wait up!"
  "just- hey, slow down,"
"i just wanted to say thanks for killing those things," he's caught up to us now, making the mistake of grasping neytiri's arm to which i hiss in loud, wild protest from, she whips her bow back and hits him square in the chest.
  "ah! damn!" he startles.
"don't thank.. you don't thank for this," neytiri expresses, her expression convey’s very mild irritation and a gratitude of sadness, though only i could see that part.
"this is sad. very sad, only,"
"okay, i'm sorry. whatever I did -- i am sorry," he holds his hands up in a universal appeal that states 'i mean no harm'
i decide to step in, voicing my anger and sadness at this situation, "all this is your fault! they did not need to die," the na'vi looks at me for a moment before replying to the statement as if he was in the right.
"my fault? they attacked me. how am i the bad guy?" i make a strong stride to him, silencing him with the tip of my spear at his throat.
  "your fault!" i declare.
"easy, easy," he says in a calm voice holding a hand up to my spear, trying to gently steer my spear away from the tip of his throat.
neytiri hisses hardly, she hates when people try to belittle me, i am as much of her clan as she is.
"you're like a baby. making noise, don't know what to do," neytiri backs me up, swiveling her head around to each side of his head, snatching my spear from my hands and making a swift movement to continue holding the spear to his throat.
the man holds his hand up higher saying, "easy," before backing up on his other hand and standing up.
"fine. fine," he says, holding out a hand to keep distance from him and us. he stands up, his back at a hunching-over angle, neytiri and i looking at him disgustingly.
"if you love your little forest friends," he pants for a moment before continuing, "why not let them just kill my ass?"
"what's the thinking?" he asks, a strange way of wording but i strangely understand.
"why save you?" i ask, clarifying.
"yeah. yeah, why save me?" he confirms, asking again.
i let neytiri answer as i'm not the best at sharing my emotions. i'm a rather physical person anyway, i turn around heading for the branch behind us.
neytiri blinks, eyes soft, moving forward slightly before moving closer to him, "you have a strong heart."
  "no fear."
the man's looks at neytiri before she moves closer to him and hardens her voice, "but stupid! ignorant like a child," her tail twitching agitatedly behind her. i snicker lightly at her words, my fangs poking out and sticking me in the lip.
she turns around and heads towards where i am sitting on the branch, my legs hanging off the edge. she grabs my arm and pulls me up as the man stumbles for a moment before picking up his stick and running after us.
"well, if i'm like a child, then..."
"look, maybe you should teach me," he runs until he catches up to us clumsily trying to steer his way through the heaps of trees and leaves.
"sky people cannot learn. you do not see," neytiri speaks, starting running across a branch, the pads of her feet lighting up the moss on the branch.
"well then teach me how to see," the dreamwalker runs after us, walking gracelessly across the branch.
"look, come on, can't we talk?" he asks. god, he asked so many questions, did he ever shut up?
"say, where'd you guys learn to speak english? doctor augustine's school?" i turn around just in time to catch the man's arm before he falls off the branch.
"you're like a baby," i seeth pushing his arm away from me before releasing a curse in navi. i quickly switch my spear from one hand to the other.
i see his eyes speculating me out of the corner of mine and apparently so does neytiri, she hisses pulling my arm until i am in front of her. he startles, before speaking again, "i need your help."
"you should not be here," opening her fist in a flat motion, making her angry face. god, that face is so funny to me. she's so cute.
neytiri's tail twitches agitatedly behind her as the man argues, "okay, take me with you."
"no! go back," neytiri argues back, i can tell she was starting to get annoyed. she walks forward slowly pushing me from my paused spot in front of her until the man walks right back behind her.
her hand pushes his chest, "no. go back," she demands. her eyes trail up to where the woodsprite are floating down in front of the man.
the bright woodsprites float down until they practically crowd around us. we're all looking at the glowing jellyfish looking tentacles before the man swats one that's floating near him. i hiss like i've been wounded as neytiri quickly grabs his hand looking intently at the woodsprites but he takes his other hand and tries to swat another one away with his other hand but neytiri swiftly grabs forearm hand and shouts, "no!"
shouting another insult in na'vi, we all look at the man as the woodsprites start to dance over to him until they surround his upper half. neytiri looks over him and smiles slightly before letting go of his wrist as he makes a quick jerk of movement, neytiri backs up until she's fitted back against my front, she grabs my hand and gives it a nice light squeeze as we watch the scene unfolding in front of us.
the woodsprites continue to cover the top half of his body as he confusedly says, "what..."
"what are they?" he asks, neytiri seems to be in a little bit of shock as she doesn't answer so i do so for her.
"seeds from the sacred tree," i say, "very pure spirits."
the man stands in a statue-like manner as the remaining woodsprites collect on his head, arms, and chest. neytiri huffs astonished before slightly leaning down, pulling me down with her. the woodsprites start to disentangle from his body and start to float away in the opposite direction.
"what was that all about?" the man asks us as we continue looking around until placing our eyes upon him and declare together, "come," neytiri steps forward and harshly tells him to, "come!"
turning around we run off, the man following closely behind us. "where are we going?" he asks us.
we turn around after jumping off a rock and over to the other side to see him a little ways away from us, of course, he seemed to be enthralled in the most annoying way possible, wasting our time.
"come," i say impatiently, him running to catch up with us. we run through the purple moss, lighting up with our every step.
we duck under a tree and jump from one branch to the other, "what're your names?" he asks before he lets out a loud and panicked, "shit!"

ways to the heart
Tumblr media
pairing: prince harry x “reader/oc” x meghan markle

warnings: fluff, only ooc if you know the royalty’s but y’all don’t so haha 😛, probably not what the request asked for but i liked it anyway, LOWERCASE INTENDED
word count: 593.
note: i kinda wrote this lonnnng before this request came in so i’m like 90% sure when i wrote this, lilibet and archie weren’t born yet so let’s just say they’re being babysat 🤗 comments/ requests are open! also, i feel like this is kinda not what you asked for, just give me a couple of days and i’ll come out with another one :))
important: i do not allow my work to be copied, republished, translated, or reproduced. please do not use this story on wattpad or on other platforms. respect the author's work <33
it was on days like these, they often don't get to sleep in and just enjoy each other's company. it was usually, always one of them was off doing dukely or dutchly things.
but with the documentary having just come out, it was harder to do things as simple as this nowadays.
waking up, colette stretches her hands towards the headboard, reveling in the way her muscles tense and liquify under her skin. meghan's side of the bed is empty, but there is a neon pink post-it stuck to the headboard above it, two little hearts scribbled on them.
the sight of it makes colette smile. It's not like she doesn't know where meghan is - she's downstairs, puttering around in the kitchen, baking pastries, batch after batch until the smell of it floats upstairs and wakes harry.
turning to her other side, colette just looks at him for a moment. harry is still asleep, his face peaceful. he is star-fished out on the bed, his limbs sprawled out, partially tangled in the blankets.
reaching across, colette swipes a strand of hair from harry's face. carefully, she lets her fingers drift across harry's skin, tracing the tattoos. the dragon perching on his shoulder, the tail wrapped around harry's biceps. the universe trailing down his spine, planets and suns and meteors scattered in the galaxy of harry's skin. the deer on his thigh, the antlers stretching across his hip. freckles splattered all across.
colette can't help but think of harry as a masterpiece. he is both the artist and the art, his skin a canvas for self-expression. the three of them know what it means to rebuild yourself, to grow beyond what other people have cut out for them. harry's skin is a map of his heart on the outside.
as if he can hear colette think about him, harry stirs softly, his brow crinkling. "time to get up?"
his voice is sleepy, and collete can't help but smile at him. "not yet. go back to sleep.” the only response she gets is a hum, and a husband trying to wriggle deeper into her blankets.
the door cracks open, softly squeaking. "are you watching him sleep again?"
when colette turns, meghan is standing at the door, holding two plates. on them are pastries, both of them unfamiliar to colette, which means meghan is experimenting again.
meghan in the mornings is a sight to behold. her hair is tied back, but some strands fall out, framing her face like she's a renaissance portrait. she carries herself with such a grace that still makes colette's heart flutter, watching meghan be so herself.
colette shrugs cheekily, leaning against the headboard. "he just looks so cute when sleeping."
grinning, meghan presses a kiss to her forehead, the smell of powdered sugar washing over colette. "fair enough."
she hands colette one of the plates, setting the other aside. the pastry is warm in colette's hand, the smell of cinnamon drifting up from it. if harry's heart is tattooed on his skin, meghan's heart is baked into her pastries. meghan loves them both so much. "thank you, meggy."
meghan beams at her, forever cheerful about her pastry creations, and colette simply has to kiss her. unsurprisingly, colette also tastes like powdered sugar and cinnamon.
"now eat your pastry! I need opinions!"

i learned the tulkun's name was payakan, i woke with a throbbing headache and a sore throat so sore, i barely wanted to speak. at dawn, i was awoken when payakan reached a small vacant island with lots of trees but also a lot of surrounding water.
he said he had to get back to my home island in order for the surrounding animals around awa'atlu to not think anything was out of place.
i walked around, got to know the trees, the island in general and found fruits and certain berries hanging on the trees.
i survived there for a couple of days before i gathered supplies and headed for the mainland.
the trip was long, almost 3 days at most, i kept track of the time/busied my mind by comparing everything on foot rather than on an ilu.
my trip to the mainland in the water was almost 3 days, on an ilu it would've been 1 day and at least 3 hours. collecting food in the metkayina clan was easy, one swing of a net and you had all the food to feed the entire village. collecting food on the island took at least a day, maybe more due to all the disinfecting i had to do with all the fruits. my mother taught me how to do that , i thought bittersweetly. we always shed the skin of all our fish, douce it in herb-treated waters, and cook it on a stick over a fire.
i began my adventure until i reached this island with a huge tree in the middle of it. the island looked like it was inhabited by na'vi so i prepared to get swarmed. the moment i dragged my tired, wet, and strained body onto the island, i was swarmed by large, darker-- darker than me, men on huge horse-like animals. the spoke in na'vi, something i was very well aware of and taught very well. they were discussing my looks and whether or not to bring me to their olo'eyktan- a term i also knew very well.
"you will come with us, the tsahlik of our clan will decide your fate," the largest man said in na'vi, he was a darker shade of blue than me, no extra skin on either his forearms or calf areas. he had darker blue shades of strips all over his body as well, they all did.
i nodded an okay and a group of other warriors came out from bushes, trees, and even jumped down from branches. they all carried large spears, pushing me forward. i walked behind the large trojan-like horses and it's warriors riding them. we walked across branches and with each of our steps the moss under our feet lit up like how the animals in the sea lit up each night after the sun disappeared from the horizon.
while we walked, i took the time to observe my surroundings. everything was glowing, at least as far as i could tell. there were these animals, all over. some of them were brave enough to actually come up to me and stiff the heels of my feet, some even going as far as to try and climb up my legs.
we walked and walked and walked until we came upon the tree in the middle of the island, it seemed to have levels, the main one was where all the clan was located at the moment. they all stopped and looked at us when entering their home, they all made some kind of path for us to pass through. making our way up front I saw the olo'eyktan standing tall and mighty, behind him i saw a girl my age hiding behind his legs, she slightly walked out behind to get a look at me and to present herself as tall and mighty as her father.
a woman came down the steps of the tree and to what i presumed, she was the olo'eyktan's mate, the tsahlik. she made her way to me in long, sharp strides.
"away, irayo," she spoke, her voice strong and willed, while also sweeping away her hands in a fashion that spoke, 'give us some space.' the people, including the warriors that brought me to their home stepped backwards.
she surrounds me, taking my arms into her hands and inspecting the extra skin of my forearms, she walks behind me, taking— more like grabbing— my tail in her hand and i resisted my hardest not to hiss but i do have the least bit of decorum considering all of what i've been through in the last week. my mother always taught me to never provoke the unknown.
she rounded back in front of me, bending her back down slightly so as to look in my eyes, she spoke, "what are you called?"
"ney'ite," i spoke, my voice; raspy though strong due to some... recent events.
"why have you come to us?"
"i became lost at sea, i swam here. i just need shelter," i explained. i assumed she knew the clan i came from, apart from my skin and extra skin flaps, she was the tsahlik.
she looked at me for a moment before turning around and making her way to the little girl standing beside the olo'eyktan.
"my daughter neytiri will teach you our ways, to speak and walk as we do." neytiri didn't seem to be happy, stomping her foot on the ground and protesting.
"why me? that's not fair! why not tsu--" she expressed her frustrations by hissing and pointing to another boy standing a little away from her, behind a couple of the warriors who brought me.
"it is decided!" the tsahlik boomed over her daughter in na'vi. neytiri subsides, turning to glare at me.
"you will learn well ney'ite, my daughter will teach you our ways. we will see if you can be taught," she turns to neytiri, her expression stern.
"she is your responsibility," neytiri nods, accepting, but she’s obviously not happy. she walks forward, grabbing my arm and pulling me roughly away.
neytiri leads me up the branchy staircase until we reach a level in which is covered in large hammocks, some residing children and their parents.
i saw the similarity between our homes, it was a nice change of pace. being out in the open, breathing forest air. made me feel just the slightest bit more free.
"what are you doing?" i asked as she lead me to what i assumed to be her hammock.
"do not speak," she ordered me. pulling something from the ground near the hammocks before hopping in, the hammock rocking slightly due to her weight.
"come," she pulled my arm unexpectedly, falling into her arms, i tripped over my own feet and landed in a heap on her lap.
she hissed and pulled me by my arms to sit in front of her before skinning the leaf she picked up and began applying it to the wounds i didn't even know i had. she was only my age but her eyes felt developed, wise. i could get lost in her amber, honey-colored feline eyes.
my mother taught me to never stare, but i couldn't help it. i always thought my clans complexion was the best complexion of blue for the na'vi. but now...
she paused her movements before slowly moving her eyes upwards to meet my smaller blue eyes.
i noticed a slight purple tint creep up her neck and meet the tip of her ears, she smiled shyly before returning to applying the fiber-based bandages.
she let me borrow one of her clans handweaved breasts covers and a new loincloth.
she leads me down the steps again to the second level of the tree where everyone was gathered for dinner. i make my way through the crowds of na'vi, they all looked up at me as i weaved my way through their tails and feet. although i think they could tell i was sorta uneasy in their presence as some smiled, a few kids even came up to me and offered to play with me tomorrow.
neytiri crosses in front of me to the cook pit and returns with several leaves heaped with food, she kneels next to me, placing the food in front of me almost pleasantly.
"what's your name?" i ask nicely. she looks at me defiantly, like i didn't already know her name. obviously i knew her name, i was just trying to make conversation.
"neytiri te ckaha mo'at’ite." she spoke.
"neytiri te ckaha mo'at’ite." i repeated a lot slower, "pretty," i commented.
she smiled lightly, pushing my food towards me slightly.
the sleeping level – i observed families nesting in groups on woven hammocks the size of trampolines. the hunters sleep along this thing neytiri calls spokes , it joins the inner trunk to the tree’s outer shell.
neytiri leads me to the hammock beside her, as she herself gets comfortable. i look over to see neytiri curled up in the hammock next to me in a fetal position. she looks at me for a moment with hooded eyes before turning over and grasping her hand around the strings of her hammock pulling them closer, almost like a blanket over her.
i step into the hammock opposite of her fiddling with my fingers before pulling back and walking over to neytiri's hammock. she feels my presence, her ears flip back into something i like to call airplane mode and she turns over, lifting the top half of her torso up until she's on her elbows, facing me.
"can- can i sleep with you?" i ask timidly. i really just need someone, i wanted to say.
she sits for a moment before nodding, scooting over in the hammock until there's room for me. i step in, turning my body so it's facing her chest bringing my legs up to fit in between us. she wraps her arm around my waist pulling me closer until she can discreetly put her head in the crook of my neck.
and that's how i fell asleep. in neytiri's arms. in hometree.

waking up on a lone rock, big enough for a whole family of seals to bask on, i was alone. i knew i couldn't stay there forever, i had to move. though as the prevoius images of the akula attacking my ilu and me. having been knocked off ni'alu, feeling the burn of the salt of the sea entering my throat and nose, the attack had been unpredicted, i was not prepared. this is why i never do backflips in the water, i thought bitterly but jokingly. i hated the taste of the seas salt going anywhere into my body, merely the thought of the recent events of my day and how downhill it had gone made my throat burn, a small teal hand reaching up to rub at the skin.
flashback;
we were swimming beyond the reef, we weren't supposed to be there. and we knew it, but we were having so much fun. it was getting dark, noticed by both i and ronal.
"it is getting late sister, we must go." i nodded, feeling the beginning of the cold spread throughout the water. our ilu's were starting to get anty, gliding through water smoothly beside each other.
ronal touched a glowing hand to her ilu's head, gently stroking it, "what it is aka'ula?" suddenly in between our ilu's came a large, long, and simply black akula.
i was stunned by the sudden appearance of the large akula, and I could hardly believe my eyes. i had heard stories of these creatures, but to see one in front of me was something else entirely. i gasped as the akula came between us, it’s large body forcefully pushing between us, through the water swiftly and gracefully. it was almost like ballet, how graceful it had been. i was taken aback by its sheer size, my hand moved from its previous position of clutching the saddle on my ilu, i fell into the chilly water below.
it split us up right down the middle, knocking me off my ilu and knocking ronal off hers as well.
"ney’ite!" i heard below the cold, musky water. i needed the akula to back off, it was still prowling around. ni'alu’s blood was tempting it, poor ni’aul i thought, but i need to do something.
just as i thought it, the water moved to my will, pulsating the water so the akula was alerted of mt presence in the water. i willed my arms and legs to move despite my shock due to the water listening to me? i was extra grateful for the extra skin on my arms and legs meant for this exact reason, to swim faster.
looking back, the akula was following me. i weaved through many rocks and reefs, i was surprised i had so much energy left despite the traumatic event that went down, not that long ago.
the akula was getting tired, i could tell, i just needed one more thing, then it would leave me alone. hopefully.
i swam in circles hoping it was at least starting to get tired. i then swam as hard as i could through a huge, circle-open reef. just as i expected, the akula ran into the reef, trying to shake the attack off. the akula then turned and swam away. i waited for a moment before surfacing and climbing on a nearby rock, my limbs were exhausted. and so was i.
before i knew it, my head was hitting the rock, and i drifted into an uneasy rest.
flashback over
i took a deep breath before looking over the edge of the rock, looking into the ocean.
the water looked less inviting when looking into it and seeing all the reefs, sea animals, and seaweed floating and swimming around. i dived into the now seemingly cold water, i swam for what had seemed to be an hour in random and various directions, not knowing where or what i was trying to go to.
after swimming until dusk, it was starting to get late and i needed food. i had nowhere to stop, no rock, no island, nothing. the emotions from the day finally burst through. the seams of my shock finally spilling open, tears cascading down my face in a sobbless sadness.
"please... help me," i called pathetically into the deepless sea in which i was floating in, helpless, all alone.
behind me, the water jerked with large intervals of waves, a large spritz of water shooting up into the air shaking me from my thoughts. i slowly turned to see a large tulkun, it's large beautiful body floating up so that one of it's eyes was lined up to my face.
my people had taught us of a lone tulkun roaming around our waters, an outcast. my mother strickly forbid us from trying to seek out the lone tulkun. when i was 8 years old, ronal had found her spirit sister in the form of a female tulkun, roa, she was called. somehow, i had felt drawn to her too, my mother had said it was a path of eywa i had unconsciously decided to take. but i didn't understand that, i chose roa? as ronal had chosen her first. so i was 2nd best? i didn't know how to feel about that. roa had told us during her first migration in our clans waters how long she had waited to have a child. she would be a great mother, both i and ronal had figured, she had such motherly instincts.
the tulkun had come closer, i guess i was too deep in my thoughts. it was worried about me.
"why are you out here all alone little one?" it asked me in my clans sign langauge, but in it's own whale type of way. luckily my mother had taught my sister and i so we could communicate with our spirit sister and of course so we could communicate underwater.
"i need help," i expressed through my tearful expression.
"what is your name?" it asked me, i had to stop calling it an it.
"ney'ite. what is yours?"
"i am payakan, i will help you. hop on." he lifted his large tailfin for me, urging me to swim foward.
i swam foward and onto his wide-reaching fin, i 'climbed aboard' laying my back across his cold, wet body. i wanted to ask him so many questions, where was he taking me, was he the outcast, did he know of the outcast? but as the soft lool of the soft hum his body seemed to have, and the darkness but such shininess of the stars.
sleep came easy for me that night.

the stress of our mama training ronal to become the future tsahlik of our people was starting to wear off on me, her becoming more and more exhausted, not wanting to 'put up' with me and my 'consistent battering' about wanting to go out beyond the reef. she lashed out, i was hurt, of course, she was my best friend.
ronal looked at me with sadness, "i am sorry sister," she uttered. i nodded, feeling the warmth of her arms and body engulf me in a warm embrace.
"how about i make it up to you, hmm? a trip outside the reef perhaps?" ronal spoke in a low-hushed tone as to not alert our parents in the split above-water maruis we resided in since each other's birth. she said it in a way that enticed me, she gave the words a certain mischievous tone to them, it made me very happy and excited forgetting the previous mishappenings of our rather unpleasant but moderately regular sibling quarrel.
we were swimming beyond the reef, we weren't supposed to be there. and we knew it, but we were having so much fun. it was getting dark, noticed by both i and ronal.
"ney’ite!" she yelled, pushing herself up on her ilu, the water was lit but yet still so dark. ronal acknowledged her sister's ilu floating at the top of the water, a chunk of her left middle fin appeared to be ripped off, ni'alu wailing in pain.
"ney’ite!" ronal called out to the quiet waters which seemed to not be so quiet just moments ago. ronal wailed loudly, "oh ni'alu," she quietly guided her ilu up to ni'alu gently taking a rope from her sach sitting on her own ilu and attached it to her.
ronal then noticed her ilu had a tinge of red liquid oozing out from it's small upper wounded tail fin, she cried out for help causing ronal to wince from the loud, defending, and heartbreaking sound. "shhh aka'ula, it is okay... sister." the word fell somewhat easy but still felt so hard leaving her lips. the pain of losing her sister still felt unreal, the wound was still openly fresh and very painful, but right now she needed to find her way back to her village.
after retrieving herself from her thoughts she reattached the tsaheylu to aka'ula, telling her to move. bound with grief, ronal took one last look at the glowing waters, whispering a quick but deeply meaningful, "oel ngati kameie ney’ite, eywa had great plans for you," before disappearing towards her home, her people.
she made her way back to awa'atlu, back to the elders. her parents were immediately there to greet her, having been searching for her and her sister for quite some time now. almost immediately they noticed ney’ite wasn't with her. ronal hesitated to tell them, with the rest of the clan surrounded around her wanting to see the state of her wellbeing as well as her sisters.
"we went beyond the reef, an akula attacked us. she's gone mother, i'm sorry," her mother broke down in loud wails, ronal looked down as to not see all the heartbroken expressions of her clan. ronal just then noticed some of the animal caretakers of her clan taking care of both her and her sisters ilu.
the clan wrapped ronal in a seashell shawl made by all the expecting mothers of the clan. her wounds were cleaned and wrapped in a special seaweed dipped in a healing ointment. she was led back to her maruis where just somehow sleep couldn't find it's way to her.
the wailing calls of both ni'alu and aka'ula kept everybody in the village up, the calls full of mournfulness and great, great pain. though around where the dark had finally consumed her village, the wailing of ni'alu had quieted to just soft whimpers then to simply quiet. aka'ula had not minded being awake, wanting to keep a watchful eye over ronal sticking close to the maruis.
finally some tiredness overtook ronal, something she acknowledged as sleep was coming to take her. though, her mind was plagued with images of her sister's final moments and how she might've felt in that moment. the tears and pain welled up in her and took all of her strength to resist it but failed, succumbing to tears that flowed silently down her face.
