There are so many cool DSMP interpretations! I have to try drawing so many different styles for each person! The artists here are marvelous!

Anyway, that up there is meant pretty lightly, all things considered! Have your opinions, 'cause varied points of view are the spice of life, etc. and when things need to be addressed, they need to be addressed.

But let's be kind to each other!

I don't really use this blog a lot because I don't often dip into MCYT, but I do follow the community every so often and I've been thinking!

I debate on drawing DSMP art from time to time because the environment can be caustic at times from what I've seen! But at the same time it's like -- these are young people making stuff on the internet. Sometimes they are tasteless and sometimes they make mistakes, but every time people come out of the woodwork to publically excoriate anyone even tangentially related it just makes me think: no? If one of these CCs was out here telling people to hurt themselves for their opinions or bombarding strangers with what they think is right or okay or good, then there would be no saving them from the backlash! There's something there that I cannot articulate, or maybe it has no perfect phrasing, but it has hints of "be kind," and it has notes of "too-harsh convictions will teach nothing" and a steady undertone of, "remember these are people, too." I think I will draw more DSMP art, actually. These dumb kids are on a very tall stage and it's a very precarious place to be, and I hope they come out of it okay and with values that they've learned of their own volition, and not out of fear.
