I was punched and pepper sprayed by cops that my university administration set on student protesters yesterday. Including once where a cop ripped my mask off my face, grabbed my jaw, and sprayed pepper sprayed straight into my mouth. The university sent out an alert in the middle of our protest canceling classes for the rest of the day, only citing “adverse conditions”. After protesters dispersed under threat of even more violence and three buses of riot police from all over the state with rubber bullets and bully sticks parked in front of one our school’s famous landmarks. I staggered over to a couple of friends who were watching on the sidelines. They gave me water and an apple and held a bag of ice on my very pepper spray irritated face. As they were walking me back to my dorm we ran into one of their roommates. She had taken cancelled classes as an opportunity to get crumbl cookie with her friends. Standing in front of her, happy in a floral blouse with her box of cookies, in my pepper spray and water soaked tshirt, keffiyeh sadly hanging off my shoulder, holding an ice pack to my mouth, felt like a slap in the face.
After putting my pepper spray soaked clothes, shoes, and keffiyeh in a plastic bag and taking an extraordinarily painful shower, a friend and I went for dinner just off campus. There we had a pot of green tea and ramen to soothe pepper sprayed throats. We got ice cream after (shared a cup with chocolate and raspberry pomegranate with strawberry pieces on top, it was very good). From our spot outside the ice cream place we watched a steady stream of groups of sorority girls in matching jeans shorts and blue bikini tops walking back to their apartments after some apparently raucous parties. The cognitive dissonance was insane. I really felt a little like I was going crazy.
Even this morning, waking up to the smeared sharpie of the National Lawyer’s Guild’s phone number on my arm, a black and blue chest from where a grown man straight up clocked me while I was held up by two other protesters in a wall, and a still sore throat and eyes from the pepper spray, life goes on like normal. I still have final papers to write and a math exam to review for.
I’m not sure I really have a point. But, this feeling only makes me want to fight harder for a free Palestine. So, fuck Israel for being an apartheid state and all of their crimes over the last 76 years. Fuck university administration for not disclosing their level of investment in Israel. Fuck university administration for not divesting from this genocide. Fuck Joe Biden for actively supporting this genocide. And fuck the police.

The U.S. sanctioning the soldiers in the West Bank isn't a sign Biden is shifting; it's damage control.
After it emerged that a State Department panel told Blinken months ago that multiple Israeli military and police units should be disqualified from receiving U.S. aid on allegations of human rights violations, Blinken had to act. He already looks terrible; the only way to save some face is to sanction Israel.
But he chose the West Bank, where there is no Hamas and where Biden has been criticizing Israeli actions. Biden already sanctioned civilians in the West Bank, so it's the area Blinken can sanction without completely breaking ties with Israel.
But the US isn't sanctioning the Israeli units in Gaza, where most murders have taken place, or the government. They are still providing aid and weapons. So this is just another distraction; a way for the Biden admin to look like it's changing without actually doing much.

I have more culture clash
Thing about soldiers and Sith and Jedi coming back from the Alliance to their old side and weirding them out with all they learned.
Visitors from Sith Empire or the Republic being concerned on how comfortable alliance members are with their former enemies.
Imps and Pubs who have learned each others manner's. Former alliance Jedi who are able to negotiate with enemy Sith. Other Jedi stares at them in awe.
Former Alliance Sith: Perhaps we can we can come to solution that benefits Both of us. Jedi: What. Sith: What? I headcanon there was a battle wills between Imperials trying to treat Jedi with the respect they give Sith Lord Vs The Jedi who think it's creepy. Well I say the Jedi lost. Most Jedi picked up Imperial manners and learned the polite response. Some Republic soldiers learned it too. Their former comrades see them bowing to Sith Lords and thinks they're brainwashed. Jedi and Sith who picked up each others terminology. Sith and Jedi who picked each other's sayings! Alliance Jedi: "Hope dies last. They'll make it until we get to them." Other Jedi: Concerned glances The Alliance Commander who's run a militant terrorist organization having to work with the Republic again. Commander: suggests a plan Someone: "Um sir. That's a war crime." Commander: "Oh. I forgot."
and the reverse Imp Commander: "Isn't that a war crime?" Imperials: "What a war crime?" Commander: "Ah.. I forgot.."

it's funny when my sister shows me videos of a few pro-Palestinian protesters calling for the death of all Jews and saying that they love death. I've seen hundreds of videos of pro-Palestinian protesters being peaceful and actually treating people with kindness. All videos of Palestinian activists have no trace of antisemitism.
yet, whenever I see a video of a pro-Israeli activist or someone protesting for Israel, there's always hate. I have seen videos of nine and ten-year-old children saying that they wanted to kill the arab child they met and how they want to make all Arabs their slaves.
every single video I have seen of an Israeli official speaking about the genocide has nothing but hateful and disgusting things to say.
the double standard is real. it is real and it is very much still present in today's world.
one video, just one video, of a pro-Palestinian person who says they wish all Jews were dead can outweigh the millions of other activists who know that Judaism and Zionism are fundamentally different and cannot be correlated.
yt no matter how many videos of Israelis and Zionists being hateful come up, people will never say anything.
it disgusts me that this is the standard our world has adopted.

More profound when you consider that Doctors Without Borders rarely makes political statements.
In #UNSC mtg on Middle East, @MSF SG Christopher Lockyear says: "Israeli forces have attacked our convoys, detained our staff, bulldozed our vehicles, hospitals have been bombed and raided. And now for a second time, one of our staff shelters has been hit. This pattern of attacks is either intentional or indicative of reckless incompetence. Our colleagues in #Gaza are fearful that as I speak to you today, they will be punished tomorrow."
He adds: "The humanitarian response in Gaza today is an illusion. A convenient illusion that perpetuates a narrative that this war is being waged in line with international laws. Calls for humanitarian assistance have echoed across this chamber. Yet in Gaza we have less and less every day, less space, less medicine, less food, less water, less safety."
