“But books–they’re different. When you watch a film, you’re sort of an outsider looking in. With a book–you’re right there. You are inside. You are the main character.”

Hey all! Been working on a little something to ease myself back into drawing Heartstopper pages. I’m so proud of this mini-comic! I hadn’t drawn proper comic pages for over six months and I’d been really worried that my drawing skills would have worsened in that time. But I think this is the happiest I’ve ever been with a mini-comic. Thanks for your support this year and I really hope you enjoy this little story.
Not to charlie spring post on main but I just wanna talk about this kid for a second and how fucking brave he is. Like in the latest comic update geoff tells charlie how he thinks he's actually insanely brave, and it got me thinking, oh my god yeah charlie spring IS insanely brave. Like I just started thinking about all of the insane courageous shit charlies done that has gone unnoticed.
He survived being outed to his entire school and still came out of that experience an incredibly supportive, kind, and positive person. He joins the RUGBY team, full of hyper-masculine popular boys who bullied him or associated with the people who bullied him, just because nick, who he barely knew, asked him to. He went to a party full of three hundred popular kids he didn't know just so he could hang out with a guy he had a crush on who, to his knowledge, he had absolutely no shot with. He threw ben off of him at harrys party and told him to never talk to him or touch him again. He took a chance and asked nick to kiss him. He ran out in the rain and kissed nick an extra time. He stood up to harry and said nick "wasn't his type" at the cinema. He told off harry at taras party, in front of over a dozen kids. He said "I love you" to nick first. He admitted he has a problem with eating to nick. He tells his parents about his ED and makes the decision to go to inpatient, which is INSANELY difficult. He decided to go to therapy and create a support network, and remains communicative with nick about how he feels as best he can.
Just, charlie spring man. He is legitimately so so insanely brave and strong I can't get over it I think he deserves way more credit than he gets
