also YES FINALLY another theatre kid enji truther!! the fact that he refers to the game as if it were a stage play a lot just made me get more overly attached to him unfortunately. his favorite musical would be beetlejuice i don’t have any reason for this but i just know it is

and yes agreed on the prosthetic part!! and i’m still genuinely wondering how he lost a whole eye like. did he lose it during a game or was it before coming to the borderlands and if so how? I know h*ro *so probably didn’t think of a reason and just used to it show how cowardly he is but like aaaaaaa i can’t just not think about that!!

and another thing has always bugged me even in that manga is that we never actually got to see any of enji’s backstory. like there was this weird first encounter with banda in which he deadass psychoanalyzed enji but even that was made super ambiguous if it was true or not. like even characters with less relevance than enji got some of their backstory shown aughgh. and ESPECIALLY since it’s cannon that pre-borderlands he used to be a hypnotherapist, a profession that’s literally for helping people, in which he does the opposite of in the borderlands

speaking of that, if enji was really genuinely trying to help people via hypnosis before coming to the borderlands, then his backstory literally parallels eiji mitsurugi’s. as said before eiji’s whole thing was that he wanted to minimize deaths by deceit and manipulation by others since pre-borderlands he used to do that exact thing just for his own beneficial gain. and if assuming what banda said was true enji’s desire to control and have privilege over the players in the borderlands probably comes from the lack thereof in his life before he came to the borderlands

eiji wanted to do something moral to make up for his actions in the previous world, while enji wanted to continue to living in the borderlands because it gave him that he never got the chance to have in the previous world. I CANT STOP THINKING ABOUT THIS THEIR DYNAMIC WOULD’VE BEEN SO INTERESTING and also the fact that they have very similar names to each other made me think the author did it on purpose even more. I really wish they would’ve directly Interacted somehow
