RIP "Puddy" your Death was Tragic and Senseless

RIP “Puddy”  You were such a timid kitty, not a hunter at all. Your character was more bunny-like than cat-like. You were rescued from abandonment and loved your family for 5 years; such a short time, such a tragic death; but now all of the horror has vanished as you sit in heaven whole and restored in a heavenly body. Lord Jesus please help this family as they grieve this horrifying loss. Restore the soul of those who saw Puddy’s mangled body and attended to it. Help them to know that she is now happy and whole and will meet those who trust in you with their whole hearts in heaven on day. In the Name of Adonai Rohi. God our Shepherd. Amen. </3 Caren

Shirani Ratnayake Caren, I have the saddest news for you. My son’s cat was attacked by 3 strays dogs last night around 3 am. She was found dead on the street. This is a very unusual cat. Shirani Ratnayake Oh dear…she was abandoned 4 years ago, my mom inlaw gave Puddy to my son…she was a tiny kitten then. Puddy was given all the comforts the best food love and care…at my son’s place. They all are animal lovers and support animal welfare too. Thank you.

Michigan Man charged with cruelty after washing "rescue" dogs at car wash

MICHIGAN — A Michigan man has voluntarily given up two German Shepherds after video surfaced of him washing the dogs in a car wash.

The surveillance footage shows the two dogs tied to a wall as the man used a high-pressure hose to wash them off.

He says he rescued the dogs from a neglectful owner earlier that day, and that he wanted to clean their matted fur.

He says he didn’t realize the car wash soap would hurt the dogs.

The dogs were taken to a local vet, and police say they are in good condition.

The man will face animal cruelty charges.

LEWISTON, Idaho Author: Taylor Viydo— For over five years, a Lewiston marine has attempted to adopt the bomb-sniffing dog he served with overseas.

In Afghanistan, Nick Montez and his dog Mally were tasked with sniffing out danger in order to protect his fellow marines. Now, Mally will be joining Montez for some well-earned rest and relaxation.

Montez of Lewiston used to be a cat person but that all changed when he joined the Marine Corps and was paired up with Mally.

“Being with her constantly every day. Caring for her. I’d give her IV’s before we’d go out on patrol if it was a hot day, just to make sure she was hydrated,” he said.

Mally was trained as a bomb-sniffing dog. It was her and Montez’s job to find explosives. As Mally looked out for Montez and his fellow Marines, he looked out for her.

“I’d care for her, clip her toenails, massage her pads, clean her ears every week. Work with her, train with her,” he explained.

The two were a team. Montez said he was with Mally for a little over a year. After being discharged in 2012, Montez tried to make her part of his family.

“When I put in for her adoption, I was basically told it was definitely going to be a while,” he said.

Mally, and her trained nose, were still in service. For more than five long years, Montez would check in with the armed forces asking when Mally could come home. Eventually, Montez said he stopped hearing back. This changed when a friend of his contacted Senator Mike Crapo’s office regarding his situation. Not long after, he got a call saying Mally could be his.

“It was a huge sense of relief, because I’ve been trying so hard for so long. I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders,” Montez said.

Mally was still serving with the Air Force at a base in Texas. Her retirement has finally come. On Monday, Montez will fly to Texas to pick up his former partner.

“That sense of purpose kind of made my bond with her stronger, if that makes any sense,” he said.

A non-profit in Texas that focuses on service dogs is helping pay for Montez’s flights. He has personally received donations, and he is giving those to that group and an animal shelter in Lewiston.

The Reunion

LEWISTON, Idaho — A Lewiston Marine spent five years attempting to adopt the bomb-sniffing dog he served with overseas. On Tuesday, it was all worth the wait as Nick Montez finally reunited with Mally the dog for some well-earned rest and relaxation.

Montez picked up Mally in Texas on Monday and brought her back to the Inland Northwest on Tuesday. The bond between the two is a tight one.

“She’s going to be a princess,” Montez said of Mally’s future as a house dog.

A New Jersey couple only has a little bit of time left with their dog Odin, so they’re making sure he experiences all life has to offer in his final days.

In March, Odin’s owners Bobbie Jo and Jeff Ledford got the diagnosis that Odin only had months left to live, News 12 New Jersey reports.

Since the news, the couple decided to let Odin fulfill a bucket list. He has been slurping up a vanilla sundae topped with dog bones, he’s stopped at Hooters, and taken his last trip to the lake.

Odin is 4-years-old and was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, otherwise known as bone cancer.

The bucket list has made Odin known around town, as people pitch in to help make his short time on Earth memorable for the Ledfords.

“When I made the bucket list it made us closer and happier. I don’t have time to cry because we are doing things,” said Bobbie Jo Ledford.

By Matt Keller WOODSIDE, Calif. (KGO) — The world is remembering Koko, the famous gorilla who lived in the Bay Area. She died in her sleep Tuesday at the age of 46 at her home in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

The Gorilla Foundation says her ability to use sign language to communicate with humans demonstrated the species’ emotional capacity and made a huge impact.

Koko brought joy to many people, including celebrities like Flea, the bassist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

“Coco, you’re a very curious gorilla,” Flea once said.

Robin Williams also had a big impact on Koko.

Koko’s handlers said at that time, she hadn’t smiled in six months since her lifelong partner passed away. Williams made her smile.

The two joked and wrestled, even got into a tickling fight.

The foundation said Koko expressed sadness after her handlers explained Williams had died in 2014. The western lowland gorilla was born on July 4, 1971 at the San Francisco Zoo.

In 1972, Dr. Penny Patterson started teaching Koko sign language and eventually established The Gorilla Foundation and moved to the Santa Cruz Mountains.

With Penny’s help, Koko learned to use over 1,000 signs and seemed to understand approximately 2,000 spoken English words.

The Gorilla Foundation released a statement overnight, saying, “Koko touched the lives of millions as an ambassador for all gorillas and an icon for interspecies communication and empathy. She was beloved and will be deeply missed.”

By Leo Stallworth Monday, June 18, 2018 10:23PM LONG BEACH, Calif. (KABC) — The owners of a dog named Archie issued a plea to the public Monday to help find their beloved pet after a burglar entered their Long Beach home and stole the dog.

“Give Archie back. I don’t really care about anything else, everything else is replaceable, but he’s not. Just take him to the dog pound or just turn him in,” Kenny Gonzales said.

The 1-year-old French bulldog was stolen by the burglar around 10 a.m. Sunday.

“I’ve been crying all day yesterday and today. I’m trying not to,” Miranda Perez said.

Perez and her boyfriend Gonzales are in tears over the loss of Archie. The couple said they heard footsteps in the living room Sunday. They went to check out what was going on and got the shock of their lives.

“I was in complete shock. Sunday morning, 10 a.m. You’d never think that someone is going to be inside of your house, 20 feet away from where I’m lying in bed,” Gonzales said.

Gonzales said he dashed into his bedroom to grab his gun when the guy took off, stealing a few carpentry tools and nabbing Archie before heading into a getaway car.

The couple have surveillance video from a neighbor that shows a car pulling up to their home and a man getting out. Perez said it’s the same man who entered their backyard and slipped into their home through the sliding glass door.

“Watching the video, it looks like he’s in familiar territory. He’s not hesitant about anything. He just walked in,” Perez said.

The vehicle seen in the video was later located in San Pedro. It had been reported stolen.

Perez and Gonzales said they can replace the drills and other tools, but they want the bandit to return Archie, who is like their child.

“Give me my son back and how dare you,” Perez said.

The couple said the bandit may have targeted their home thinking it was empty because it’s under a complete renovation, but that’s not the case.

Authorities are investigating the burglary.

Anita Chaplin 6-19-18: Going to drop Keetah off at Dr. Carter’s office. She started eating the morning glory leaves over the weekend. Of course, she vomited them back up. She didn’t eat yesterday and I was hoping she would today. I’ve been watching her more closely to make sure she doesn’t nibble on them. Somehow she must have gotten into them again. Then when I came home this evening, I found she had eaten some of the pottie pad. Of course, she threw that up. She has never done anything like this in the near 8 years I’ve had her. My concern is with her missing meals, she’s not getting her meds for her seizures. She’s been without meds for 48 hours. She drinking water and pottying and poo-ing. She was excited to see me when i came home. I’m keeping a very close eye on her. Prayers appreciated. Thanks.

Sadie Cathcart 6-18-18: Sadly the meds aren’t working for the glaucoma anymore She is in surgery right now It’s a non-invasive surgery They are putting her under and injecting something on her eye This injection it’s supposed to stop the production of the liquid that increases the pressure in the eye It will kill the glaucoma They just told me that there could be side effects The eye could shrink And the eye could also bleed out and turn red There is no known if it will work or not It could also not work (cont. below)

Sadie Cathcart: Ciliary body ablation is the name of the procedure. Yes they can remove it, doctor suggested this to control glaucoma for now. If this doesn’t work then when they do the surgery to remove the tumors they would take the eye out at the same time I talked to several blind dog owners. A few told me that the procedure worked fine and the dog is fine Other half told me they end up removing the eye 50/50

Heroic Mama Dog Walks 2 Miles Daily to Save her Pups, Rescued from Abandoned House

 FOWLER, Calif. – Krystle Woodward with Pinky Paws Animal Rescue in Fowler said she was tipped off to a neglected dog near Fowler & Jefferson in Fresno County. She was first alerted 7 weeks ago, and captured the dog last Thursday.

“She’s just been really neglected, poor girl,” said Woodward.

The dog now named “Betty Boop” had recently given birth to a litter of puppies. “She would go into the city to scavenge for food and then at night, go back to feed her babies, and that’s why everyone would see her travel two miles every day,” said Woodward.

Woodward launched a mission to find the pups and recorded the quest on a cell phone. Betty Boop led her to an abandoned home in the area.

“Oh my gosh, you hear them,” Woodward said in the recording. “Baby, they’re under there.”

The puppies were found underground.

“Oh, she told us,” said Woodward.

Woodward called her friend’s son, Kenneth Stoen, a Freemont Elementary School student, to help rescue the pups from underground.

“The space was too tiny so I offered to go down there,” said Stoen.

All 10 pups are now healthy and awaiting shots for adoption.

“Just her trust in me to show me where her puppies were,” said Woodward. “It really touched my heart that’s why I love them so much and we’re their voice.”

The puppies will be ready for adoption May 1, 2017. The rescue group is charging $150 for shot fees.

Monica Davis North‎ 5-23-18: Greetings from the Indy 500! Foster dogs are doing great except nobody wants to adopt them for various reasons. Our herd is doing ok too except we found out that our head wiener, Officer Chase, is now in chronic renal failure. He just turned 14 a few months ago and has really been through so much including IVDD surgery over 4 years ago. We’re hoping to keep him comfy and happy as long as possible. I’m not sure what the Wiener Palace would do without our protector. Thanks for the good thoughts, prayers, etc for our boy.

All who are Christians, those who name the name of Jesus as their ultimate judge need to protect your family from demonic invasion into our lives. There is much controversy within the church on this topic. The Old Testament does not address it as often as the New Testament does, that does not mean that such possessions did not occur during that period. King Saul’s life is a good example of demon possession. This is a passage of Scripture which true Christians should memorize and pray over themselves and their families on a daily basis:

PRAY FOR Hajime 3yo. Heavenly Father we ask that You would help dad Bruce to continue to provide for Hajime’s needs despite his lack of transportation and disability. Keep Hajime in good hay to avoid GI stasis. May they never need to see a Vet. In the Name of Adonai Rohi. God our Shepherd. Amen. <3 Caren

Bruce Diehl 5-21-18: I am disabled and have no transportation..this was not so when I first got my rabbit Hajime now three..I do all I can to keep her healthy food exercise love..but if she gets sick I have no help in getting her to a vet..also she would be traumatized by the whole thing..I live in Madison County northern Alabama where rabbit savy vets are rare..I ask for prayers and wonder if I might get advice as to what to do in emergency..I have tried to find her a home but she is bonded to me and this could be harmful too..just want the best for her! [P]lease pray for her to remain well and happy as long as possible ! She is a lionhead…that is actually hair fur a different shade…I was afraid of a crackling sound occasionally a gi stasis but the more hay she eats she does not make it

RIP "Maggie Mae" you lived a long and storied life

RIP Maggie Mae. You were one of your mom Anita’s favorites, you’d been with us from the beginning of PfP. You had been together so long and had experienced so much in your long life. Excerpt from our book:

Maggie…my little Mags. She was the 4th dog I fostered for rescue. I certainly did not intend to adopt her…but the reason that happened was because shortly before she came into our home, I had moved my then 83 year old mom up to Indiana with me from Mississippi. She had moved down there and married a high school sweetheart…he passed away in 2009. Since she had no family down there, I drove down there and picked her up.  My mom seemed to take to Maggie, even though she is not a dog person. I thought it would be nice to have Maggie around for my mom since she had just lost another husband. By then, I had already decided to keep Maggie. 

Maggie was very sick when she came to me; within days I knew I had to do something.  Even without the ‘permission’ of the rescue, I took her to the Vet.  She had bronchial pneumonia. It was a good thing I got her there when I did, she probably would have died had she gone much longer.  She has had a rough life. She lost an eye from a corneal ulcer after she came to me, and has since had a corneal ulcer in her other eye.  She is very unpredictable; she tends to bite; although she does not have a whole lot of teeth. She got an infection in one tooth that went to her eye and caused the eye to swell. I have no idea how old she is, so we ‘celebrated’ her 10th birthday this year, although I think she is older than that. She has come a long way since she came to us in August 2009…she is a lot more trusting now than she had been. I wonder why she ended up wandering the streets south of a rough Chicago suburb; that was where she was picked up as a stray. For a little 4.5 pound girl, she is a trooper. I have learned so much from her fighting spirit. I admire and love this little one so much.

Heavenly Father, we know what a huge loss this is for mom Anita. Maggie has been with her through thick and thin for many years. Her heart is in pieces today. Please put those pieces back together today. Mend the frayed ends. Help her to get through the days and weeks to come. Help her pack of rescued chi’s to recover from this loss as well. We ask these things in the Name of Adonai Rapha. God our Shepherd. Amen. </3 Caren

Anita Chaplin: I lost a big piece of my heart this morning. 😢 Maggie Mae is flying free at the Rainbow Bridge 💕🐕 I was so hopeful there was help for her. There wasn’t anything the vet could do for the fluid in her forehead. The last 24 hours Maggie really took a turn. I tried to remain positive this morning before we left, but I know my pups well enough that I just know. Even doggie mom’s have the extra sense. All the things we discussed, and the many things that the vet pointed out just weren’t in her favor. My concern was ‘what if Maggie bonks her head on the wall one too many times and that place opens up and causes her pain or suffering and I’m not home?’ 😢 The Dr. left me alone to decide and I struggled….I cried. I didn’t want to go thru the grief, I wanted her to get better. My heart literally hurt! Even after the sedation shot, the vet informed me I could change my mind at that point, she was just sleeping. I had a difficult time saying to go ahead. When I did, she explained to me what would happen when she gave the final shot. I held my precious girl on my lap and wrapped my fingers around her paw. I wanted her to know and feel she was not alone, that momma was there. It wasn’t long before she took her last breath. To me that is the toughest part of having a pet, is letting go when it’s time. Hard as it is, I’d rather have loved and lost than to never have loved at all. RIP precious Maggie, until we meet again. 💕😢🐕

"Maggie" has odd swelling on her forehead

PRAY FOR Maggie 18yo?: Possible Hydrocephalus (Swelling brain). Lord Jesus please help mom Anita to keep Maggie safe until she can see the Vet tomorrow. We ask that Maggie would not feel any pain or have behavioral changes due to this odd swelling. Please give the Vet your wisdom to know how to handle this condition. We ask for complete healing. Anita Chaplin 5-18-18: Hoping to get Maggie in to the vet tomorrow. All her bonking around has caused a soft spot in her forehead. Thinking it might need to be drained? I don’t know. Prayers appreciated 💕🙏
