I have PLENTY i can share-- its given me brainrot i swear; my thought process is really all over the place but im happy to share my notes on the Au. (EEE im so excited someone asked about it im bouncing off the walls) But anyhow This will be quite a bit of rambling so strap in >:3c

(a bit of a TW here: Mention of death/implied death, mention of injury & brief mention of grief)

The "Crown of Thorns" au entails Izuku being raised by AFO/Hisashi almost from the get-go. As for why.. well, Inko was taken out of the picture early on, unfortunately; when she was caught in the middle of a destructive fight between a pro-hero and a villain. Which demolished several buildings on the block, including the one she was in at the time. Izuku had been with her, since shed gone grocery shopping-- and Inko pulled Izuku out of the way of a chunk of debris, which ended up saving his life, and unfortunately, costing hers. (She was one of various casualties that day.)

After that.. Hisashi took Izuku under his full custody-- he felt it was his duty as Izuku's father, and more so; he was VERY unwilling to let go of the last piece of Inko he had left. Which is how Izuku ended up living with AFO, in the LOV hideout alongside Tomura and Kurogiri. (Hes not much a fan of Dr. Garaki, but he tries to be respectful anyhow.)

Hisashi is more or less a very.. attentive, father-- and protective at that. Luckily Izuku didnt find himself Vaulted, since Izu showed no interest in leaving his father's side. (Primarily due to losing Inko and only having Hisashi to cling to.) Hisashi did love Inko deeply-- and genuinely at that (which is rare, dear god), but he also saw it as a bit of a blessing of sorts that he was the only parental influence his son would have from hereon out. (All while mentally repeating to himself that Izuku would NOT turn out like Yoichi had).

Moving on a bit:

Tomura and Izuku see eachother as brothers-- Izuku was excited to have an older brother, and Tomura at first..wasnt a fan of Izuku, but he grew to appreciate him, and became a tad protective of him over time. (Izu learned to weaponize his puppy eyes and sun-bright smile ^^)

Dont mind AFO in the background drilling "How to be the best big brother ever" lessons into Tomura's head-- ( Even all the way in OFA, Yoichi cannot believe the mans audacity, honestly.)

Hisashi actually ceased most of his villain activity for a few years while he focused on raising Izuku after the loss of his wife-- It was a time to grieve and bond with Izuku, after all. Though eventually he had to re-establish himself; and when that time came.. Kurogiri had to babysit/look after Tomura, and Izuku. (He liked looking after Izuku though, the boy was quite well behaved and intelligent for his age.)

And boy oh boy: The moment Izuku's quirk manifested-- All but cemented the idea of having Izuku as his successor in Hisashi's head. He felt that Tomura could do better as Izuku's "Machia" so to speak-- especially given he noticed that Tomura is incredibly attached to Izuku (given he had a slight habit of referring to Izu as "Player two".) Izuku's quirk was also..quite fascinating to his father-- and dear god did it take all of AFO's very limited self restraint not to take it from him. It was essentially a fusion of "Pull" and "All for One". (Mama Inko would have haunted him if he stole it i promise you.)

Of course, he also intended to teach Izuku how to properly use that quirk, but in the meantime.. he would supply Izuku with a quirk to take every now and then.

And as a treat, ill share one of the plot-points did for this au aswell: In the COT!AU-- All might and All for One's fight, that crippled them both, went VERY differently here.

All might didnt exactly.. win, but he didnt die either. At the time, All for one had Izuku on his mind, and he actually wasnt willing to risk going head to head with the hero-- (For fears that if he lost, Izuku would be without either of his parents.) So when that fateful clash came.. it was his desire to get back to Izuku and keep All might as FAR AWAY as humanly possible that gave All for One an edge-- he had a drive beyond megalomania and a hunger for power-- he had something to fight for. (Which the heroes didnt take into account since they really didnt consider the possibility All for one couldve had a family.) All might still ends up with his injury, since All for one figured if he incapacitated him, then he could get away from this reckless fight and get back to the one thing he truly cared about: His son. (All might's attack-- that destroyed AFO's head in main canon, missed its mark in this au, which allowed AFO to get the better of All might.)

Big thanks to @huiiiooo for pointing out AFO's seemingly smaller hands in his memory, but it's not just his hands, his HEIGHT is also seemingly smaller, if you think about AFO's line of sight when seeing Kotaro in his memory

AFO should've looking down a bit with his towering height, but he didn't, so it should indicate that AFO have some sort of appearance altering quirk to blends in with society

And if DFO theory is true, making a family wouldn't be that difficult for him, since he can appears to be completely normal to his family. After all, why wouldn't he try to make another family (after Yoichi) if he's so obsessed with family and "wants to do what's everyone have done".

This would also explains why Izuku didn't recognize AFO whenever he sees him, because that's not the appearance that AFO presented to his family. But it seems AFO original appearance (from the shilouette in past chapters) still got inherited to Izuku anyway, because they look too similar to not be blood related

of course there's the thing with Kudo and Bakugo, but to even have similar behaviors like these?

The possibility of them being blood related is pretty high considering a parent behavior can be passed down to their kids even if said parent hardly ever spends time with said kids/not the one who raised said kids (apparently it has something to do with parents' Behaviors also encoded inside DNA, which would later be passed to their kids)
