I’ve been watching Danny Phantom and I get it. I get it now.
This show loves to make some offhanded comment, not a hint of consideration or concern in its tone, and just moves on without addressing it like that wasn’t the most creatively horrific concept this side of Nickelodeon. Shit makes up wackass lore on the spot and then disregards it immediately after, asks fascinating questions then looks at you funny when you try to answer them.
I now fully understand how this show has legions of fans dedicated to taking this somewhat mid cartoon and running so far with the implications of the premise they created an entirely different show that’s so much more interesting I’m upset it’s not real.

So apparently some people new to Tumblr think a repost and a reblog are the same thing, so when they see creators asking for people to not repost, they're thinking the creators are saying to not reblog 😭
Y'all, a repost is when you copy/download the work and create a new post using the work making it seem as if it's yours. A reblog is you using a site provided feature to share the creator's post directly from the creator so that it's still credited to them and they still get all of the traction/notes from the work.
Please, reblog fics/art/etc. that you enjoy! Reblogging is not reposting! Creatives need support too, and reblogging is a way to do that!

The best feeling in the world is when an writer/artist you love for one fandom gets into another fandom that you love like yes thank you more of this person in a different font please.

some highlights from the reblogs, because the post is popping off for some reason?? are you guys reading the Odyssey in school or something or is this becasse of the recent Epic the Musical update?

I find it incredibly funny from a meta/author perspective, that Ancient Greece decided to name their protagonist that angers many people “Anger Bringer” but, even funnier, is the in universe understating that anyone who meets Odysseus must have had the thought “oh dear, how unfortunate to be named hateful/hated” and then they have exactly One conversation with him and go “Ah I see now”
For reference, Odysseus’ name sounds very much like the Greek word odussomai, which can roughly mean “I am angry at” or “I am the cause of anger” (or simply “to hate” or “to dismiss”), a fact that is used for ironic effect frequently in the Odyssey.
It’s also specifically stated in Book 19 that Odysseus’ grandfather, a master thief and one who has also pissed off a lot of people, specifically named him this because “I am disliked by many, all across the world, and I dislike them back. So name the child Odysseus.” 19.428
Bro looked at his grandson and thought “Ahaha, this one’s going to be a troublemaker like me. Better get him started early.”
It’s like a terrible allegory for cause and effect or something.

Little Iliad Pre-Order!
This pre-order will last three weeks and end on the 28th! I do not have the stocks as I will order them in bulk after the pre-order finishes, so they should start shipping out in November if my estimate is correct.
There are seven designs in total, I might add some more in the future if I do another run :D Apologies in advance for the picture quality, I only have my phone camera and it isn't the best haha. Hope you like them!

for this course I’m teaching I selected both Iliad 24 and Odyssey 22 and it wasn’t planned but there’s something about the contrast that is really striking - I think the Odyssey is often seen as a softer and more accessible epic than the Iliad, but on this reread I’m struck by how Iliad 24 is Homeric epic at its most empathetic, and Odyssey 22 is Homeric epic at its most coldly, jarringly brutal. and there’s something to be said the way that the poem about rage ends with an act of profound and complicated humanity, while the poem about a complicated man (nearly) ends with an act of profound rage

We’re live everybody!! Here’s the link to the playlist version of my insanely long tribute to the Tales of Arcadia series AMV. Spoilers have been tagged on the respective videos (mainly parts 2-4) and close captioning will be up soon for English on all parts (it’s currently only available on the main video).

A very nice commentor noted that my previous video was very, very large and breaking it up into chunks might be less intimidating and also you could dodge around spoilers and still get most of the experience so here’s part one of my massive tribute to the Tales of Arcadia series! I’m working on setting up a playlist for all of them so stay tuned!

Hello everyone! Now that Wizards has been released and I've binged it too many times to count, I decided to make a tribute dedicated to the series thus far. Then I couldn't decide on a theme so I just kept going.... and going... and this ended up 20+ minutes long. Whoops. If you're a fan of the series then please enjoy! CAUTION THOUGH! Some big spoilers if you haven’t seen all three series yet!!
