New WIP. Painting the McFarlane Mekboy. We've named him CHEZZNEE ORKS. Just the basecoats and a few highlights done for now. I was nervous about starting this guy, it's my first large scale model, but he's turning out way better than I'd hoped
And he's finished, absolutely delighted at how this guy has come out. First time ever painting a dragon and my fifth model in seven years, super super happy with it. My hand was shaking so much trying to do his eyes! I've got some little flower tufts arriving to add to his base but actually I love it how it is. Now I have to decide what to paint next!
Four days of live painting on stream and we're coming to the final day tomorrow, absolutely delighted with the way this is looking so far. My fifth model in a decade and I'm feeling very proud of myself, got something a little special for the base tomorrow (if it arrives!)
Yesterday on stream we base coated this guy then inked him, today was some leathery wing highlights and the boney tail. At first it was tedious but now I can really see what it's going to look like finished and I'm very excited. Three more days of live painting this guy and I have some surprises for the final basing
Five hours of being submerged in acetone nail polish remover, four playlists, three separate scrubbing sessions, two cramping hands and one old toothbrush and finally I've got these models clean.
It's a wonderful feeling to take something you ruined, take a bit of time and effort and get a chance to correct the mistakes you made. Now for the painting!
'We missed one?' Daedolusus was quickly growing used to the idea that the ape was talking to him. It belonged to a species known as the jokaero, and even before meeting this particular ape Daedolusus had heard of their affinity for technology and gadgets. They were a kind of simian savant, blessed with some of the divine intellect found in humankind, but only in a very narrow field of knowledge. So it seemed quite reasonable that the thing could operate his cogitator well enough to convey a simple message.
'We missed a ship?'
The ape nodded with such force that it stumbled, bumping into the workbench and sending implements clattering across the surface.
'And it is the one with the best chance of what? Reaching the wider galaxy?'
The ape nodded again, more carefully this time.
'How do you know this?'
The ape turned to the cogitator and typed a single word:
First post so not entirely sure what to be posting, how about some nicely painted figures I've done recently after getting back into miniature painting after 7 years?
