Bryan Ansell has passed away at age 68 (11 October 1955 -- 30th December 2023).
Bryan Ansell founded Citadel Miniatures in 1978 in partnership with Games Workshop, and co-wrote the original 1983 Warhammer Fantasy Battles first edition rules with Richard Halliwell and Rick Priestley. He became managing director of Games Workshop in the mid-1980s, and was primary owner of GW until selling his shares in 1991. He also founded Wargames Foundry / Foundry Miniatures, which continues to produce many older Citadel figures among many other ranges.

Here is the result of the efforts of the last 2 months of work. Black dust and dwarfs. This is part of the war machines of my new dwarven army.

This is my first time painting an Imperial Fist. I've painted some lamenters before which also have yellow armor, but I've never tried to push it this far. My goal was to emulate Darren Latham's style a little (being sort of 'eavy metal, but also volumetric highlighting and shading)
Hope you guys like it as I enjoyed painting it. It took me around 22 hours.

Battle Masters Chaos Warrior
Games Workshop / Milton Bradley
Scheme is based from some card art that came with the game. Holes where already in the model, no clue why.

Ok, so a very quick explanation of why I get defensive when people talk shit about Matt Ward.
I don't like bullies.
I don't personally know him, but he is a real person, with real feelings.
Hate on Sicarius, say he is the worst, say that all Ultramarines suck, call GW evil incarnate, I literally couldn't care less. (maybe I can get into some harmless banter, but no hard feelings).
But bullying/harassing a dude for over 15 years for litterally just doing his job is a no go for me. You are a piece of shit in my eyes.
The only thing this guy ever did was to get the assignment to hype up GW’d newest models and over-delivered.
Do people not understand how printing and marketing work? Everything he did went through more then one editor considering the size of that company. And not one of them said “stop, tone this down”.
The “Matt Ward”- codex is a GW product. Place whatever blame you think it deserves in the right place.
And stop being a pathetic online bully.

So I finished up the panels for my first armiger and did something knew. Magnetized the torso! I'm so excited for how it's turning out.
Shame I messed up and painted a panel backwards. But I'm really jazzed.

The Lion is done! (Ignore his backpack, I swear I'm going to paint it later)
It took me around 20-25 hours, which isn't anything crazy for such a large model. I took pictures with my phone so the quality isn't the best... but I've moved and my photo setup is yet to be set up.
