loreposting time!!

i kinda have three sets of main characters, but right now i'd like to discuss just one of them. it's a trio including two brothers and a close friend: tanner williams, alfred williams, and zoe esperanza.

tanner is a senior investigator at the new blythe city detective agency, and zoe is his assistant. alfred is tanner's brother who he is very protective of. they become a trio after a certain incident, but i won't go into that yet as i am still working out the exact details.

tanner is well respected within his community and kind of acts like a father to those around him. he's good at reading emotion and great at giving advice, and he's also very humble. he's not the smartest or coolest person in the room, and he doesn't ever try to make it seem like he is, but he always strives to do better. he's not afraid to get his hands dirty, either. unfortunately, however, his ambition causes him to overwork himself to the point of often being very fatigued and even unhealthy. he tries to make time to take care of his brother, but there's not always an opportunity. he advocates for truth, but he's not going to say something if it might negatively impact the situation.

alfred is like a foil to tanner. he's a very intelligent person, but he doesn't like to work. he's incredible at thinking outside the box and looking at things from a different perspective, but he never utilizes this ability. he's flirtatious, bluntly honest, goofy, and bad at reading the room. he feels comfortable right where he is and doesn't really attempt to do better. tanner tries to push him to find a path in life, but he won't budge. he's also chaotic and disorganized and never really finishes projects he starts. but he says that it's okay—that he's just along for the ride of life. that mentality is what determines his every move.

zoe is the most sensible and strict of the three. being tanner's assistant, she helps with his work and makes suggestions along with providing her thoughts on a case. she's great at organizing things and she stays on a tight schedule. she speaks with precision and elevated vocabulary. her intelligence is more of the common sense variety—she acts purely with logic and reasoning and tries not to let emotion affect her action. she's not perfect, however, and can be very self-conscious. she cares a bit too much what others think of her, and constantly compares herself to them. this is why she stays behind when there's dirty work to be done—she doesn't want to be noticed.

alfred and zoe don't get along at first. alfred is brutally honest which makes zoe uncomfortable, and zoe's serious attitude jars with alfred's sarcastic nature. but, with tanner's help, they learn to tolerate each other and even become friends. tanner's soft and warm attitude mediates alfred's goofy chaos and zoe's desire for order. alfred's ability to rethink things and change perspectives if the train of thought has reached a dead end compliments zoe's ability to use common sense to create a basic understanding of a situation and make more logical conclusions. tanner makes this possible by gathering the information and making a comprehensive record of what he knows. as a team they are much better than they are on their own.

more on the actual story of these three soon. there's a few things i need to iron out before it's ready to go.

Most know me as an artist, some know me as a musician. You'll find my endeavors in the former here, as well as occasional "funny" text posts and lots of reblogs of art i like.

I enjoy making characters, and I often log their lore in text posts. None of my characters are based on existing properties, but many are inspired by my interests. Just don't anticipate me giving my blorbos boyfriends.

If you wanna see just my art without the reblogs or any of the other stuff, you can check the first tag on this post. I've also included original character tags if you're looking for art featuring one specific character of mine.

Don't expect a lot of the same type of art. I like to experiment, and I don't enjoy limiting myself to one specific niche. I'm more than just the big lizard men, contrary to popular belief. My art style is also ever-evolving because stagnation kills me, so try to keep that in mind.

My interests cover a broad range, so expect a lot of fanart of my favorite things.

I love adventure games, puzzle games, metroidvanias, soulslikes, and more recently find myself enjoying jrpgs. I like tabletop rpgs but unfortunately I do not get many chances to play them. Fantasy and science fiction settings are some of my favorite worlds to immerse myself in, and i'm also a big fan of steampunk. Grounded or modern settings can also be interesting, which is why I based my own characters on a setting more familiar to current media consumers, while still retaining some more fantastical elements.

I really like indie and alternative music, and especially enjoy a large variety of rock. Jazz and fusion are really cool, and funk is just a fun time all around. I'd say my favorite band is probably The Strokes.

This is my sona, Pablo! This particular outfit is heavily inspired by Jack from Bioshock, hence the wrench, but he also has some other outfits that take inspiration from other sources. He's tall for a kobold, and he's flat-footed instead of digitigrade. He's also the perfect size for being held, specifically by a very large man, but that's not very important, is it?

I'd describe his personality, but that would get too personal cause he's kinda just me, so i'll leave it at this: if you want to do fanart but you feel you don't have the proper reference material, I would be willing to send more through direct messages.
