i want to mention that while yes, the conditions that palestinians live in is horrid, palestine is still a beautiful place.

there are so many stories of people returning from their trip to palestine and all of them saying that they were disgusted and horrified and the living conditions they say the palestinians were in were just awful, and while yes all of that is true, and palestinians do live in ridiculous conditions, i still want to make it clear that palestine is an insanely beautiful place. our mountains are beautiful, our plants are beautiful, our mosques, our churches, our olive trees, our birds. palestine is a beautiful place. it is the birthplace of both christianity and judaism, it is the birthplace of jesus. our temples are astonishing, our food is delicious, our culture is rich, and our diversity is beyond. our dances are beautiful, our clothing, our jewlery, our homes. each and every one of our lives is precious.

go to any palestinian home in the world and you'll see beautiful things. the west wants to get rid of us, to completely decimate every part of our existence, but we will not let them. and we need everyone on our side to help us keep palestine's beauty safe.

hello, thanks for sending this in. so i've been trying to find smaller orgs for palestine that are specifically for helping gaza, but the issue is not much aid is being let in. PCRF is a really good org in my opinion, I'd always donate to them regardless.

There's also the Palestine Museum, which does really great cultural preservation work.

Palestine Legal is a legal aid group that helps palestinian and palestinian advocacy facing legal challenges.

Palestine Action is a direct action group that helps do disruptive protests.

Samidoun helps palestinian prisioners around the world and keeps and eye on them.

Within Our Lifetime is an NYC based palestinian led organization.

Palestinian Youth Movement is a favorite for Turtle Island led Palestinian resistance.

Palestine Feminist Collective is a Turtle Island feminist movement that works to spread culture and information.

Good Shephard Collective seems to be doing good work in Bethlehem as well.

I would mostly look for mutual aid groups for people from Gaza if you want to donate to them. Aya Ghanamah retweets mutual aid groups a lot.

I might share more groups in a second reblog after I hear back on best ways to help them.

Tbh i think kids should be fucked up by media sometimes. I think that being uncomfortable or scared or having a general "what the fuck..." reaction is a good thing for them in the long run. I think kids should read books that will give them deep seated discomfort and they should sit with that feeling. If you refuse to expose them to anything that isnt sunshine and rainbows and perfectly tied up happy endings in the name of "not traumatizing them" then youre really no better than the parents screaming "think of the children!!" about books with gay people in school libraries, just with different topics. Life isnt all sunshine and rainbows and perfectly tied up happy endings and if kids dont learn that while theyre still in an environment safe enough to sit with and work through that feeling at their own pace the first time they feel it, you are creating a generation of porcelain doll adults who think that anything mildly uncomfortable or challenging to their worldview will shatter them like glass.

And no, it is not "trauma" to feel bad about something. Thats part of life that you have GOT to learn to work through and cope with. Not everything that feels bad or fucks you up a bit is trauma just because you think about it sometimes and go "well that was fucked up." If its not actively impeding your functioning, its not trauma.

A little advice from someone studying extremist groups: if you’re in a social media environment where the daily ubiquitous message is that you have no hope of any kind of future and you can’t possibly achieve anything without a violent overthrow of society, you’re being radicalized, and not in the good way.
