Yesterday, I knew nothing about Blender Sculpt Tool. And this is the result of 4 hours of work. I'm not 100% satisfied of the textures (in fact, there is no texture at all, just a shader), but... It turned far better than everything I could've expected.
Next step: learn how to make very smooth bits, the cheeks remind me of a 19th century moustache.
The step after the next step: Reducing polycount. :P
Now, if you will give me a minute, I have to stop thinking at all the bad puns I can think with this race... Especially since I'm french, and... well... Bith have a totally other meaning... And I just made a Bith's head, or like we say in french, "Une t锚te de bith".
*runs away before being bith-slapped*
Ooookay... I think I should calm down a little bith...
Perhaps I should show it to Samuel L. Jackson and ask "Does he looks like a bith?"
Aaand I'm still there, making unfunny jokes, while I could be productive, like, farming some bithcoins?

I'm not dead (yet)!
Just having some troubles finding motivation to do more artworks. Anyway, enjoy a sneak preview of the possible upcoming appearance of Sia, this time with added charisma.

Dun dudun duuuuuun, dun' duduuuuun...
Dun dudun duuuuuun, dam dadam DA DA!
Ooookay... I think I'm getting closer to what I had in mind. I still have to find another accessory, because the hat would make it too obvious, but I like where this is going... The shirt is now Cool Fever for A3, which surprisingly mixes awesomely well with Idelacio's (and friends) unforgiven duster. I thought I'd have to make some adjustments, but the shirt just works perfectly.

True Mandalorians squads: identifying who's who
After re-reading Jango Fett: Open Seasons, simply the best Mandalorian comic ever made*, I noticed that during the battle of Korda Six, the Mandalorians used specific shapes and colours to identify their squads. Just check the following:
After analyzing all the pictures in the comic, I've been able to come with the following different patterns:
Which brings me to the following conclusions:
Each squad is identified by a simple geometric form, and a colour.
The squad leader have the outline of the geometric form on his chest plates
Every squad member have the shape on his shoulder plates
Unless the squad leader have a personnal emblem already painted on his shoulder plates (Jaster Mereel, for example), he also wears the shape on his shoulder plates.
Theses patterns doesn't appear in issue 1 of the comic, on Concord Dawn, and doesn't appears during the battle genocide of Galidraan, in issue 3. It seems, to my knowledge, that it is the only recorded time theses patterns have been used by the True Mandalorians.
* If you haven't checked it, GO CHECK IT NOW. Buy a copy, borrow it to a friend, steal it from your local library**, but check it as soon as possible. It is by far the best Mandalorian comic, as it shows mandalorians acting as a small group of fearless mercenaries, which is, like, exactly the way they were originally intended to be?
** Stealing from a library isn't as bad as downloading a scan of said book: We are often reminded that downloading is bad and we should feel bad, but have you ever heard any writer or movie maker complaining that his movie or book has been stolen in a local library?***
*** Stealing is bad, and you should feel bad. The above statement was a joke. If you actually stole that book, I'm gonna hire Mandalorians to hunt you.****
**** I realized that last statement could actually make you want to steal the book. Therefore, I'll hire mandalorian snipers, so you'll never see them.

Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been quite... busy, mostly with University work. Just a quick render of my latest acquisition... the old and outdated Aikobot Maria, THE thing I've been wishing to acquire since I... since always?
http://www.daz3d.com/aikobot-maria
I just used the default setting, no postwork, just a quick render.
Pros: It does have some morphs, the idea of the retractable heels, the ball joints, several parts that are props and therefore can be easily repositionned
Cons: Model is awfully old and therefore lacks some details in some points, but it have a huge sentimental value.
Aikobot Maria will be the base of the BD-3000 who will join the crew of Siarica's team. Basically, she'll be to Sia what Alfred is to Bruce Wayne...
More to come, as I'll probably improve the model... a lot.

Finally, I found a decent idea for the headgear: just a regular mask, based on my first batgirl mask (check my first tumblr post!), and I happily deleted all the mesh to keep only the eyes. Who would've thought you could actually IMPROVE a model by deleting 75% of it!
Incidentally, this mask also looks close to the cover of Batgirl No. 27, by Alex Garner:
http://alexgarner.deviantart.com/art/Batgirl-No-27-407313035?q=gallery%3AAlexGarner&qo=6
This wasn't intended, but it is a happy surprise! Notice how mine have two "fangs" on the bottom part... my Star Wars character being an anzati, it will be very useful for... errm... well... Check what is an anzati on Wookieepedia. Sweet dreams now!
Now, let's find a decent cape!

Another test, this time by mixing different accessories for the helmet. I used Magneto helmet, mixed with Huntress mask. I am quite satisfied with the result, not 100%, but a bit satisfied nevertheless. Regarding the hair, I'm not sure if I should have the two braids on the front, a pigtail or hanging loose in the back... my limitations are mostly how I can adjust the hair props I have.

As I promised, I started working on the bracers... and immediatly abandonned to instead work on the helmet. I figured I should re-do it from scratch if I wished to get the best results, so here is the work in progress of the Batmando helmet! All the green parts are the original helmet, who will be modified a bit since Sia have a rounder head than normal people. Blame Anzati Cuties!
The harder part will be the cheek, and I already shiver in fright at the only idea of having to work on the so terrifying cheeks of any mandalorian helmet. The ears will be updated, and upgraded, because they will have built-in sensors.
Any opinions, suggestions, criticism or bounty offers are welcome.

Aaand I have the great pleasure to announce that I now consider my Batmando chest armor complete. Here is a test render I performed using Daz Studio, instead of Blender. Why? Because to my eyes, Blender is like playing lego while Daz Studio is like playing with Barbie: if you want to create something, use Blender. If you want to dress up and pose characters, use Daz Studio. Seriously, look at all the possibilities: You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere. Imagination, life is your creation!
Errm... nevermind.
Now, time for me to work on the bracers. I'll probably just update the existing model, otherwise I think it will take a loooooong time to get exactly what I want.
Oh, and for the first time I used the raytraced option instead of the deep shadow map... The outfit looks great, but too much shadow on the face. Now I remember why I never used it.

[EDIT] First pic is the rough WIP, second one is the updated WIP!
Another update, another work in progress... this time, Batman's utility belt joins the Batmando armor without any modifications! In fact, I believe the nolanverse bat-belt perfectly fits the Star Wars universe. I still have to finish the buckle, and maybe size it down, I finished the buckle, and sized it down, and now I'm quite satisfied at how it looks...
Now, next step will be probably filling the belt with attachments... or not.

Just a back shot, showing the "finished" back plate of my Batmando design, followed by a test render with a bat-belt coming from an other model. According to my Boba Fett Black Series 6" figure, the back plate is part of the collar piece, and should go lower than what I did, but I wished the piece to blend more into the jumpsuit, and therefore it reveals the frame of the jumpsuit. I wonder why I did this part of the outfit, since I should wear a cape... well, we'll see!
Regarding the belt, it is just a test render done with the belt coming from an awesome Dark Knight model, so it's only there for giving a small hint of how it should look. Mine will be carefully adjusted to the body, and will perhaps even be linked to the D-rings shown under the belt.

Ta-daaa!
Here is a little update on the project, with a quick test render showing how the chest armor plates should look using Daz Studio. As you can see, I still have to work on some details... for example, it seems I have a problem on the nipples, displaying 2 lovely rectangles EXACTLY WHERE THEY SHOULDN'T BE.
Anyway... back to work, back to fixing theses annoying defaults!

Mandalorian Batgirl!
Finally, I got enough motivation to actually work on something!
Just a work in progress, but the general guideline was to make the bat-symbol actually part of the armor, not just painted over it. I also wanted a boobcut... errm... Breastplates comfortable enough for the female anatomy without over-sexualizing the character.I'm still not satisfied with the neck plate, I guess I'll have to find a way to improve it and make it look less... boring. The undersuit is the awesome Royloo's Trooper for A3, which was donated to me by Dave/Rhiryn/Birdman/Polden, which I will never thank enough for his amazing gifts.
Feedback is always appreciated! (Even if no one will probably ever check this tumblr, or will accidentally stumble on it and never check it again)

Which one will you choose? Remember, only one card...
This is a render which will be used to promote my upcoming "Find the Empress" game in the gambling hut of SWC. Once again, many, many, many thanks to Dave/Rhiryn/Bird/Polden for his awesome gifts.
