北野天満宮の終い天神に行きました。 猿＝去るで災いや病気などが猿(去る)ように猿回しが行われます。猿はとても縁起の良い動物だそうです。また、猿は北野天満宮の聖なる動物である牛を悪や災いから守ってくれるという役目もあると信じられているので、猿は大切にされてきました。 Saru means monkey in Japanese. It also means go away. People always wish all the trouble or suffering we would go away. So when a monkey plays at the shrine people think trouble or suffering would go away.
