update.

we went into a dungeon and within 15 minutes (in universe time) our bard died died in the first combat encounter. we decided not to leave them to make a new character and went to find druids who can use reincarnate and revive her.

we find some druids who are like "sure but you gotta give us the gold to cast the spell". we're poor so we go "got a side quest instead?". they're like "so there's some gnolls we need you to kill. bring us the gnoll leader's head".

so we go off to find the gnolls. we arrive and there are 9 gnolls + a gnoll boss. please keep in mind, we are a 2 person, fourth level party. i am a paladin with only 1 attack and 3 spell slots. this is not a balanced encounter.

we fight the gnolls anyways. i spend a significant amount of the encounter at 4 hp. we get the numbers down to 4 gnolls + the gnoll boss before i get downed the first time. our wizard knows cure wounds so i get back up and we get down to the gnoll boss + one last gnoll.

i'm downed (again) and start doing death saves. the gnoll boss is on 2 hp. our wizard casts toll the dead and it fails the wis save. he only does 1 damage. goddamn it.

i roll a nat 20 on death save and get up. i kill the gnoll boss. i am downed immediately after by the last gnoll.

our wizard goes around for a really long time trying to kill the gnoll. he is eventually downed. we do a really long back and forth with our dm trying to roll a nat 20 to get up again vs the gnoll trying to bite us while unconcious. our wizard fails his death saves and is dead dead.

our dm eventually takes pity and lets me get up to kill the last gnoll. hurray. i cut off the gnoll boss' head and drag it and our wizard's dead body back to the druids while covered in blood.

the druids use reincarnate on our wizard and bard so we're no longer an all human party :) however their age vs how they look is now f*cked up.

our bard who is 12 now looks like an adult drow. our wizard who is technically 14 (but is chronologically older b/c astral sea), is now an adult halfling which means he does kinda look his age?

anyways we're getting npc party members next session before heading back into the dungeon.

update on my dnd campaign. Our bard’s go to in social situations is to cast charm person. We went into the sewers and make a deal with a demon to get information. We’re banned from a bookstore. I pretended to be the voice of a statue to mess with our bard. Our wizard is trying to get money to be able to cast spells from the book we “borrowed” from the demon’s cult.

Most death related SCP's can sense that Mc is there, but only a few can actually see them, and even then, it's barely. 343 can not see them or relatively sense them, 343 can feel the eyes on him but not much else (some moments are better than others). No one can hear them though unless they can read lips

During breaches, it's awkward if someone else is with them during the Breach (as always, but their counterpart can't actually talk to them) so it's more like "No no, do not go down there we tried that way 3 deaths ago", "Do not listen to him, in fact please get away from him, I will ditch you if you don't" (They were with a newbie during the breach), "Keep an eye on Bright (a few minutes later) I said keep an eye on Bright! You lost him!" "No don't pick up the amulet. We don't need our soul to be wonky... I don't care. just steal his key card already he's not using it!" "Man I wish I could kill people" "Why is 408 here? Is Kondraki on sight? Why were we not informed of this!" "I miss our old life even if it was boring, it was better than having to babysit Bright and Clef" "is 408 trying to land on me? Mc can float a few feet off the ground. And change their form (took a while to figure it out) to something more scary (how their body looked after a few days / when someone found their body (Asumming it took a while)) but they have no reason to unless they stumble across an Undead thing, or just to scare their counterpart for fun

I have no clue what I should call Mc's counterpart other than Counterpart, and if I ever try to go into how people see the counterpart (which I probably won't... maybe) it's a bit weird (when I referred to the counterpart as 'their co-worker')

Mc no matter how far away can instantly return to their counterpart with a slight pull on their soul, the first time (few times) they tried it, their counterpart ended up staying at home cause they got very sick for a few days, and it was very disorienting for Mc, (it was bad for both of them)

Mc tried to help their counterpart when they were drowning (mostly looking for things for them to grab on to and advice on not drowning), when their counterpart finally got out of the river, they helped find their way 'home'
