quick update -

after several months of trying to access this blog again (tumblr locked me out for reasons unknown), i thought i’d check back in briefly. my main writing project before disappearing was, of course, the sun and the moon and the sea, the slow-burn cassian/oc fic. it’s been over a year and a half since i updated it either on tumblr or on ao3, but i have renewed its writing process. andor introduced a number of complications regarding characterization and theme. happily i have plans to ease the fic back into relative canonical harmony; less happily, they entail rewriting the whole thing almost from scratch and will take a long, long time. 

if anyone’s still interested in reading it, updates will be posted to ao3 and my new writing blog @peristerai, hopefully within 2024. old chapters and old fics will still be available here. catch you all on the other side <3

Every few weeks someone will complain abt a trend that's entirely avoidable if u just never made a tiktok account and I always think like, you deserve to see it. You deserve to be tricked into reading a terrible book and listening to a shit song and making a fail recipe and getting scammed by a fast fashion website. That was the path you willingly stepped on when you decided to listen to a clout addicted 18yo with an iPhone

psyching yourself up to post new content even though interaction and reblogs are at an all time low-

As much as I understand the sentiment, I really think that "No uterus, no opinion" isn't sufficient as a pro-choice rally and if anything just reduces the scope of the pro-life movement. In our attempts to keep cis men from policing women's and afab people's bodies we absolutely can't forget the hundreds of thousands of conservative pro-life women who help to fund and put these men in office, as well as the pro-life women in politics themselves. The problem isn't just that uterus-less men are interfering with uterus-having bodies. The problem is that a very large, very powerful group of people believe that a fetus's rights supercede those of the living individual - to such an extent that the individual deserves to be punished for it. Moreover, that people of color and people in poverty will be punished exponentially more is a normal, digestible feature of the landscape rather than a symptom of the white supremacy, late-stage capitalism, and Christian nationalism that have this country in a chokehold.

This weekend, instead of going to see Dr Strange, consider donating to these charities to support Asian Americans and Romani people!
