So today (24/11/13) I went rubbish collecting along my local beach and I found this. Use by January 1988.
It was a real reminder just how durable plastic actually is, and how dangerous our consumption of it is. On a small stretch of beach, I filled three bags of mostly plastic but some aluminium rubbish. This is scary. Really scary. Also massive offenders were plastic straws and plastic water bottles… both easily solved - use paper straws or don’t use them, and get a stainless steel reusable water bottle and refill.
Just PLEASE PLEASE think before you consume. Try to find non plastic alternatives, and if you have to use plastic, if it’s recyclable, recycle it, and if it’s not, bin it. Please.

Improve your productivity with the "important to me" list
In this day and age of smartphones, tablets, laptops cloud syncing and to-do lists, managing what you need to do has never been easier. But if you're like me and your to-do list always seems to be getting bigger rather than smaller, it can sometimes be stressful and overwhelming to prioritise your tasks and time.
To-do lists are important and so is getting everything done but it's also important not to burn yourself out. Arguably what's most important is enjoying your life and making sure you do the things that are important to you.
This is why I've implemented the "important to me list" in my life. I've been using as a reference, which I can change at any time, to what's important to me and reminding myself to do those things whenever I get the chance. The way it differs from a to-do list is that these are not necessarily things I can get done but things I like to do and things that are important to my life at the moment.
For example;
reading the news 1 hour
playing with bunny 1 hour
dedicated writing time 1 hour
getting items done on my to-do list 2 hours
These examples are not necessarily things that can be completed, so they don't belong on a to-do list. They are things that are important to me. Everyone's list will be different because everyone's life is different. I've even put my to-do list on my example important list because that's something that's important to me.
The idea is that I'll do the things that are important to me in my life right now and dedicate time to do so. On the other hand I can stop myself from doing things like reading the news or playing with bunny for hours on end, which it's easy to do. Once you've done your dedicated time for the day or the week or however you see fit, it's time to move onto something else that's important to you.
At the same time, when my to-do list is feeling overwhelming, I can move onto my important to me list and hopefully enjoy myself more and also not feel guilty for it.
Hopefully your list will grow and change and who knows, maybe one day something on the list will no longer be important to you and you can delete it, there's nothing wrong with that, It's your life, after all.
I hope the "Important to me list" helps your productivity and helps you enjoy your life more.
