"Love is blind." False. Love is many things but it is not blind. Obsession is blind. Infatuation is blind. True love is persistent and accepting but never blind. It sees the good and the bad and it chooses to accept it all the same. 

You could be my soul mate, but you might as well be sealed in a case of bullet proof glass sitting right in front of me because that's exactly how this feels.

Relationship Advice: Independence

I have been in many relationships and have learned something from each and every one of them. I think my last relationship taught me the most important lesson I could have ever learned relationship-wise. I learned the immense importance of maintaining your independence while still being a partner in a relationship. During my last relationship I let my sense of self almost completely slip away for the sake of making my boyfriend happy and the scary part is that I didn't even realize what was happening until it was almost too late. I lost many friends, stopped doing things I love and allowed myself to become far too dependent on this boy. I even almost moved to another state for him which would have completely isolated me from m whole life. He moved to Texas first and I agreed to go with him once he found a place for us to live and one day, while sitting in my parents' basement (where I now live due to how this whole relationship panned out), I realized how trapped I felt and I hadn't even moved yet! I was sleeping in his bed and driving his car (as I had sold mine in anticipation of moving) and I was not happy with my life in general. I used to like the idea of having a man who will take care of me so I don't have to work but because of this, I realized I hated the idea of being completely dependent on another human being, especially one who made questionable decisions regarding employment. He was always quitting his job because he was sick of it without first having a back up and that made me incredibly nervous. I am just glad I realized the path I was on before it was too late to re-route. I do not regret this relationship. In fact, I think I needed this relationship so I could learn the importance of keeping at least some of my independence in future relationships. I needed to learn (the hard way) to fully appreciate a man who will be truly supportive of me and who will trust me and not try to completely cut me off from the rest of the world instead of taking those qualities for granted. This relationship taught me what I want and need in a man and for that, I will always be grateful.

Quick rant:

I cannot begin to express how incredibly sick I am of hearing about Obama and his social life. Every time I hear about him, he has just taken a short trip to Hawaii or taken yet another vacation or is playing golf with Tiger Woods. Maybe you could take some tie out of your bust schedule, Mr. President, and do your fucking job.
