I've only been posting things in this fandom for about three months, so I'm going the unorthodox route! This is a fragment from something I wrote a good ten years ago, but never published and never will, for a variety of reasons. Behold: the AU where Théodred lives (weird movie-canon mashup) because Éowyn gets to murder her local sex pest.

The problem is that it doesn't work. In the morning, after Éowyn has stood above Wormtongue's bed deep in the night, panting with the exertion and the relief and the horror within herself at having killed a man, nothing changes in their king. They sit at table with Théoden to break their fast, hoping against hope, but all he does is turn his wizened head towards the empty chair beside him and ask after his advisor. Gamling goes to seek him and returns swiftly, satisfaction and suspicion at war on his face. “He is dead, my lord. Murdered. There is... a great deal of blood.” Éowyn barely restrains a grimace at the memory of it seeping hot and sticky over her hands, at the way she had gone shivering in the night to wash in one of the cisterns where a stain on the basin could not betray her to the household.

Alas, I have very few (though treasured!) followers in this or indeed any fandom these days - so if you'd like to do this, please do! Yes, you thinking "oh not me" :)

I didn’t really know what I wanted to do for this challenge until I had this idea of life in The Silmarillion, but told from Finwë’s perspective through his sketchbook!

These drawings are from shortly after the Elves awake at Cuiviénen, and are getting used to being alive. On the top left are two Elves sharing some fruits (and having some fun). The Elf with the bow is a sentinel who keeps watch over the settlement, because as shown above, there is something Strange in the woods that keeps the Elves alert. Then in the bottom left is a silver-haired weaver that Finwë has taken a shy liking to…

revenant by @welcomingdisaster. Maedhros' return to Nerdanel isn't really satisfying for either of them, love notwithstanding. What a mood!

Shore beyond the Shadowy Sea by Quente. A build-out of @cycas' Beleriand Risen verse in which Elfwine time travels and ends up entangled with the Feanorians. WIP off to a great start.

heretic pride by asterisq. Feanor and Finwe and heresy. A fascinating look at Finwe's take on the Valar.

Aunt Adili and the Blue Wizard -- A Tale of Sam Gamgee by Anna_Wing. As always, marvelous worldbuilding, emotional depth, characters that snap, and mystery. A tale of a friendship, of sorts.
