Less than one week now to the project fair where we’ll be debuting the (as of now) final version of Party, Darling?. We’re almost done, which is a little wild and a little exciting. We can’t wait to show it off. If you’re in Ottawa this Saturday, please stop by and check out our station. We’ll be on the first floor of the Azraeli Pavilion at Carleton University from 1-5pm. Bring your friends!

Weekly Dev Post: Mar. 19
We’re getting closer and closer to the end of the school year and our Gold build of Party, Darling?… We had a Beta presentation this week where we showed off our game to the project advisors. We’re on track to finish our game and demonstrate it at our program’s project fair on April 9. Here’s some of what we’ve been working on this past week:

Here’s the trailer we made for our Beta release. (DISCLAIMER: the Beta won’t be out until mid-March, so it’ll probably look a lot different by then.)
Enjoy!

we’re back from winter break and our weekly round-up posts start again as of tomorrow. it’s going to be a huge info dump this week, as we’re nearing our Party, Darling? alpha release. so here’s a small preview of some of what we’ve been working on. Our dialog choice module is looking a little slicker these days, and our inventory system is more or less implemented. Come back tomorrow for some more exclusive pre-alpha footage…

Weekly Dev Post: Sept 05
Hey GuuuuuuuyYSSss its MiCHAEL HERE!!!!!!!! Mr. Martin is out in the wilderness this weekend so I am writing our weekly development post. Now that we’ve begun school, most of this week has been focused on writing documentation and preparing reports which is as fun as it sounds, though necessary. While we haven’t had a chance to put work into the engine itself, we have been able to flesh out more aspects of the game, so let’s talk about that instead I guess. Also an updated logo!

Yelling Mechanic
So there’s been a lot of discussion on how to handle conflict in the game. We’ve gone over dance battles and physical fist fights but for now we’ve decided on the most adult way to solve disagreements, yelling. Who doesn’t want to diss fools at a party? Right now it looks like this:

We’ll refrain from going into details for now since the idea’s still young. This will definitely go through some iterations as we move forward.
The Story
This week we’ve also made progress in developing the overall story of the game. We can’t go into too much detail since we want everything to be a surprise, though I can say that it was difficult and confusing to come up with. Sorry. To make up for the secrets I will leave you one of Ryan’s very own, very nice drawings. Enjoy!

Blog post from our game development team
Weekly Dev Post: Aug 22
Another week, another blog post. Getting close to the end of our summer research period and we’re gearing up to pitch our game to our professors. We’re focusing a lot on our documentation and presentation, so dev work was a little slow this week, but we’ve still got things to talk about. Let’s jump right in after the cut…
