ik a lot of people head cannon Mike as bisexual, but am I the only one who kinda thinks he might be gay?

just a thought 😅

people who don’t ship byler that say “byler shippers are delusional” just seem homophobic at this point and it feels incredibly invalidating. why are gay ships always treated like jokes and not taken seriously when byler has so much potential and is actually realistic? how are we delusional for seeing chemistry between two best friends that love and care for each other so much?

byler is literally semi-canon and will has been confirmed to be in love with mike from the beginning. why is it so hard to believe that mike could reciprocate his feelings considering they’re best friends that have known each other for most of their lives? mike can also only be himself around will. he can’t do that with anyone else. they seriously have the healthiest, closest and most genuine relationship out of everyone on the entire show. and i see people using their fights as examples to say they’re “toxic”. are you actually kidding me? do you even know what toxic means?? they had TWO small fights and they both happened because will was upset mike was excluding him because he was forcing himself to focus on el. and guess what? mike went to apologise to him both times. he doesn’t go out of his way to apologise to other characters like that, he only does it with will. he rode his bike in a storm to apologise to will before he even went to his own girlfriend who just dumped him an episode before. he apologised in season 4 and took full responsibility for paying too much attention to el and didn’t blame will at all for being upset

we all know which ship is actually unhealthy and i find it really weird that people romanticise it, especially after all the superhero stuff and the fact that they can’t even be themselves around each other and constantly lie. like one of them feels inferior and idolises the other for having powers and can’t even name a single thing about her actual personality. at least mike and will can actually communicate properly and understand each other and can actually be themselves when they’re together. i’d rather that any day than unhealthy idolisation and lack of honest communication. just because something is canon doesn’t mean it’s good and just because a 15 year old boy has been in one relationship with a girl with powers for less than 3 whole years doesn’t mean he’s straight and gonna marry her. but sure, keep calling people delusional because we love a ship that isn’t another forced straight ship
