almost none of the reasons why i support abortion rights have anything to do with babies. really it’s more about the fact that I think the government shouldn’t be able to force you to lend all your organs to someone else and change irreparably in the process. is a fetus a person? I don’t care! If it is a person, I don’t want anyone to be forced to host one against their will! If it isn’t a person, guess what? Nobody should be forced to host one against their will! What’s a soul? What’s a person? When does life begin? IRRELEVANT! A world in which the government can force anyone to manufacture an entirely new human body at the cost of their own is not a world I want to live in!

After nearly weeks of traveling on your ikrans, your family had finally arrived in Awa’atlu, desperately seeking Uturu to get away from war. You were standing beside your brother, Neteyam, your lanky arms hanging awkwardly in front of you, tense hands clasped together in a poor attempt to ground yourself.
You felt even more awkward when an–admittedly attractive– boy and his friend entered the crowd. Once the two of you made eye contact–his being a thousand times more intense than yours, burning into you like a hundred suns– you immediately brought your hand to your forehead, a sign of respect.
Instead of him doing the same like you thought he would, he flared his nostrils and looked you up and down with a narrowed glare. His stare made a feeling flutter deep in your stomach, like someone alerted a field of colorful kenten.
Oh. He was sizing you up.
With an inaudible inhale, you shuffled closer to Neteyam, his heavy arm immediately coming to wrap around your tense shoulders, thumbing at scarred skin, effectively grounding you. Your big amber eyes never broke away from Aonung’s baby blue ones, furrowing your eyebrows and flicking your ears upward in embarrassment from being blatantly ignored. He would definitely be a problem later.
It was when your dad whispered an “it’s alright, be cool” that you finally broke his gaze, opting to look at the ground beneath you. Your thick braids curtained the sides of your face, beads clicking together harmoniously–the feeling of being watched intensely from a crowd of na’vi made you feel nauseous, dizzy, and even more alienated; your nose twitching as the the saltiness of the air nearly intoxicates you.
The sand felt weird, foreign, incredibly unfamiliar to the dark soil you already missed digging your feet into. The waves crashing against the shore, however, sounded lovely. The wind blows, it passes over, beneath, and between the mangroves, one after another, never to return. Though, it wasn’t enough to fill the void. You hoped that after all this blew over, you and your family would be able to go back home–but the gnawing voice at the back of your head knew that would never happen.
“These children are not even true Na’vi.”
You harshly blinked away the tears that threatened to spill when you felt the Tsahìk rip one of your clasped hands away, only to hold your four-fingered hand up for the scrutinizing crowd to see. Her voice boomed with authority.
“They have demon blood!”
The only thing you could hear were ringing in your ears, your own pulsing heartbeat, and the scared gasps of the na’vi surrounding you.
Welp. This is your life now. Your home.
.⠀ ݁ ⸜⸜ 𓂃 ✿̅
“Hey!” Lo’ak yelled, striding up to Aonung and his crew with you following closely behind, “Back off, fishlips.” Kiri took a few small steps back, looking between the both of you in a slight panic; you nodded towards her and she nodded back with a small, yet obviously forced smile on her face, the look in her eyes gave you just enough to know she was fine.
Aonung’s face quickly morphed into a smirk, his tone criminally sardonic. By Eywa, this boy is evil. “Oooh, more four-fingered freaks!” He cackled wickedly, lightly shoving Lo’ak–almost playful– like he wasn’t tormenting Kiri a few moments ago. Him and his gang started to crowd around your twin, pulling and touching the thin tail that flicked with annoyance.
“Leave us alone!” Kiri chorused, the plea sitting desperately on her tongue.
With an exaggerated sigh, you ran up beside Lo’ak and shoved Aonung with as much strength as your lithe body could muster at the moment, running off of pure adrenaline. The push wasn’t that strong, but strong enough that it made Aonung take a few steps back, admittedly flustering him a little. “Dude, don’t touch him!” You emphasized, your frantic, honeyed eyes as wide as can be, staring back into his.
Time seemed to stop for Aonung as he took in your appearance like he did the first time you two saw each other, yet you were even beautiful up close. His eyes looked between your left eye, your right, and then to your lips. Before his own mind could even register, he wrapped his big hand around your wrist, indulging in how it nearly engulfed your entire hand. Once his thumb caressed your skin, you felt your heart jump.
“Beautiful..” Aonung whispered– his voice low and deep– so that just the two of you would be able to hear it. His tongue swiped at his bottom lip, effectively distracting you from what was really important at the moment.
It seems that he was too caught up in taking you in, narrowly missing the way Neteyam was currently striding up to him with vigor, shoving him with way more force than you ever had, resulting in everyone going quiet and shifting their attention towards him.
“You heard what they said.” Neteyam started, pointing an accusing finger at Aonung. “Leave them alone.”
“Back off, now.”
Aonung raised his hands up in mock surrender, looking off to the side as Neteyam continued to stare holes into his head.
“Smart choice. And from now on I need you to respect my sisters.”
“Let’s go.” Neteyam gathered you, Kiri, and Lo’ak like sheep, ready to walk away and get whatever the hell was happening over with.
“Look at them. They’re all freaks, the whole family.”
Lo’ak sighs deeply at this and makes his way back over to Aonung and his friends.
Watching him with wide eyes, your heart panged as you figured out what would happen as soon as he steps into their vicinity again. “Lo’ak..” You chided, hurriedly looking back towards your twin and the snickering guys behind him.
“I got this, sis.”
Lo’ak, in fact, did not have it. A huge fight broke out between everyone, excluding Kiri of course. What kind of twin would you be if you didn’t jump in?
.⠀ ݁ ⸜⸜ 𓂃 ✿̅
You all were definitely about to get the lecturing of a lifetime–or, you and Lo’ak, at least. Lo’ak had his hand wrapped around his arm, Neteyam rubbing at his bloodied nose, while you had your arms crossed, nails digging into your elbows. All with Jake trailing behind, practically seething with anger.
“What was the one thing I asked? The one thing?”
“Stay out of trouble–” You and Lo’ak chorused, Neteyam looking off to the side.
“Stay out of trouble, right.”
“And you,” Jake started incredulously, turning his stern gaze towards you. He knew you and Lo’ak were alike, down to a T, so maybe he really shouldn’t be surprised, yet he still couldn’t help but feel a semblance of disappointment pang in his chest as he watched the pinkish hue of Aonung’s blood stain the tips of your teeth and the cracks of your bruised lips. “You bit Aonung!”
“I did not–” “Yes, you did! Oh, so now you’re starting to lie to me?” Immediately, your ears cast downward, the loudness of his voice making tears brim your eyes and your bottom lip tremble. He was right, you actually did lie, the taste of iron fresh on your tongue to further prove his point. But how you hated when your father spoke to you like this–the weight of shame and disappointment dripping down your shoulders like hot syrup.
You felt Lo’ak and Neteyam’s stare burn into the side of your head like hot coals, their hearts heavy as they both watched their little sister get scolded for something she didn’t start.
Neteyam pursed his lips before stepping in front of you and Lo’ak, ready to defend. “Sir, it is all my fault–”
“I don’t think so. You gotta stop taking the heat for these two knuckleheads.” Your shoulders were pinched as a tear ran down the slope of your rounded cheek, hand coming up to quickly swipe it away. Neteyam stepped over to place a hand on your back.
“Dad, Aonung was picking on Kiri.. called her a freak.” Lo’ak said softly, as to not make your father raise his voice any more than he already was. Jake’s stern gaze softened at this, looking off to the side. He sighed audibly before looking back to the both of you.
“Go apologize to Aonung.”
“What?” You and Lo’ak said in unison, both of your eyebrows furrowing.
“He is the chief’s son, do you understand? I don’t care how you do it, just make peace. Just go.”
And with that, Lo’ak sighed and shook his head, stray braids swinging with the movement, walking off to go find Aonung with you scurrying behind like a lost, pitiful puppy. You didn’t dare look back when Jake called for Neteyam, only focusing on controlling your own harsh breathing. This had to have been the worst day of your life.
.⠀ ݁ ⸜⸜ 𓂃 ✿̅
“Run that by me again.”
“..Whatever that means.”
“Repeat what you said.”
“I said, if you allow me to court your sister, you will be pardoned.”
“Dude, I am not prostituting my sister. Are you nuts or something?”
“Not prostituting, I just happen to like her.”
Well, you thought, so much for trying to apologize.
You were currently hiding behind a nearby tree, ears alert as you listened in on their conversation. Lo’ak told you to stay put, that he’d go apologize to the dude himself since you didn’t have anything to do with it; technically you did bite him, and his friend.. and two more of his friends. But that was because you had teeth, so why not use them for what they’re made for?
By the time Aonung blinked, you were already at your twin’s side, amber eyes glancing into amber eyes before peeking into his blue ones. “I am very sorry, Aonung, but I don’t think Kiri is interested in you. Like, at all.” You said with a tilt of your head, beads thudding almost mockingly.
After an awkward beat of silence, Aonung cleared his throat. “No, I’m not talking about Kiri..? I’m talking about you, (Y/N).”
Lo’ak gawked at him as if he had grown fifteen heads, eyebrows raised incredulously. “Bro–” “I accept your offer.” Now Lo’ak was staring at you as if you were crazier for even accepting, mouth open cartoonishly wide. Aonung, however, looked extremely pleased at your response, glancing at Lo’ak in a way that screamed ‘she said it, not me’.
“Whatever. Let me know if you need me to beat him up, okay? And you, bring my baby sister back before eclipse.” Lo’ak huffed before turning to set off along the shore, shaking his head in the procress.
“Not a baby, Lo’ak, we were born five minutes apart!” You complained in English, making Aonung’s ears perk up at the foreign language that spilled from your mouth.
Lo’ak turned to you, flipping you off with both hands raised in the air–even with his thumbs out. Disrespectful. “Girl, bye!”
You watched your brother walk further and further, his silhouette getting smaller and smaller. Blinking, you turned to Aonung, only to find out he’s already staring you down intensely. Acknowledging him with a nod of your head, you felt your cheeks flush at his attention, a fluttering feeling took over the pit of your stomach.
Aonung crowded you, tucking his fingers under your chin to make you look up at him. “Just so you know, I would have courted you even without your brother’s permission, sweet girl.” His eyes were even prettier up close, a striking narrowed blue boring into your honey ones. You felt your heart violently palpate at the name, and with a nervous exhale, you shied away from his hand.
“Come.” You quipped sweetly, skipping ahead with Aonung following close behind, his eyes trailing down your form, stopping at the pretty woven bow that sat right at the base of your tail. His gaze snapped back to your face when he saw you face him in his peripheral, heart thudding against his ribcage. “Do you call everyone ‘sweet girl’?”
“No, only you. You are very pretty, by the way.”
“Thanks bro.” He internally cringed at the choice of label, it was a habit, obviously, but Aonung didn’t seem to mind it very much; he knew it would change over the course of time. “You think the same about Lo’ak?”
“By Eywa, no, he doesn’t look half as good as you, paskalin.”
“He is my twin, skxawng. We look the same.”
Aonung went silent for a few moments, scanning your features before responding. “.. Not necessarily. The shape of the hair over your eyes are both the same, though. I will give you that much.”
Your laugh fluctuated throughout the air, singing harmoniously with the crashing waves. You desperately trying to ignore the way your entire body felt like it was lit up in flames when he placed his hand on the small of your waist, thumbing at the skin, you were sure he could hear your heartbeat threatening to jump out of your chest.
Looking up at him, you noticed the small multitude of bite marks along his shoulders and arms, your ears lowering in guilt when the phantom taste of iron filled your mouth, remembering what your dad told you.
“Also–uhm– sorry for biting you.. so many times.”
“It’s okay, I liked it, sorry for calling you a freak.”
“No hard feelings. I’ve said worse about you with Lo’ak.” Aonung decided he would ignore that last part, while you decided to ignore the first part of his statement, feeling your face flush for the thousandth time today.
“I really did like it, by the way, you biting me. Do it again next time.”
“.. Jesus christ.”
“Who?”
You didn’t really like it here at first, but since the Olo’eyktan’s son currently had his hand digging into the skin of your waist with full intent on courting you, you guess you could make it work.

Mixed Feelings Pt2
Tumblr media
summary: ao’nung is coming to terms with his feelings for the eldest sully daughter, y/n. But it looms over him that he yearns for her to feel the same way.
1.7k words
read pt1, pt3
──── ⑅*❀*⑅ ────
Ao’nung barely slept that night. His eyes may of been closed but only to relive the moments he spent with you just hours prior.  He wished the walk to where your family slept wasn’t so short. He wished that he could’ve gotten to look into your yellow eyes just a moment longer.
Moments with you weren’t the only thing troubling his mind however, his heart wanted to spend every breathe he took beside you, yet his mind told him to stay away. You’re still different. A forest girl, useless to him and his clan but yet he felt a magnetic pull towards you.
The sun was beginning to rise, meaning so did the people. Noise started to fill the village of quiet yawns and scuffles as everyone was beginning to wake. Tsireya was usually first to wake within her family so she was shocked to already see Ao’nung sitting up in his hammock.
“Brother, what are you doing up already.” She questioned rubbing her eyes making a confused face at him.
“I had trouble sleeping, that is all.” He replied back to her standing up stretching his legs. He wondered if he could confide to Tsireya about his feelings towards you. But he’d never do that, Ao’nung is too proud to confide to anyone.
Tsireya nodded in acknowledgement as she too stretched her legs. Both siblings had morning chores to do so they went along with their usual routine, but Ao’nung was looking forwards to later in the day. To get to see you alone, just you two. He hated this anticipation it made him cringe when he even smiled to the thought of seeing you.
You were so nervous to meet Ao’nung. What if it was a prank. What if he was going to ridicule your lack of skill the entire time. You couldn’t deny the feeling of affection you had towards the boy but still you were holding back because of his disapproval towards your family.
You still couldn’t shake the feeling of his plump lips on the tops of your fingers. The way he looked at you and slightly squinted his eyes almost to focus his sight on you. You were flustered by him and your thoughts were infatuated with him.
Ao’nung was already at the shoreline impatiently waiting for you to turn up. He paced in a circle looking down at the sand. He was scared you weren’t going to come, but then it wasn’t like this was a date, it was a lesson. A lesson to teach a useless Na’vi how to become less of a baby within his clan.
You ran down the beach realising you took too long talking to Kiri just before you met him. Racing down to meet him you were slightly out of breath. You tapped on his shoulder making him turn around quickly with a shocked face. It was kind of cute you thought to yourself.
“Sorry I am late, I got carried away talking to Kiri.” You say in a breathy tone waving your hand around in an apologetic way.
“Maybe you need lesson in time management along with breathing. Is there no punctuality in the forest?” Ao’nung scoffed sitting down on the sand. The piece of beach was a bit away from the village meaning it was truly just you two alone.
“Wow! how kind of you.” You rolled you eyes sitting cross legged in front of him. You were so close to him that your knees touched lightly whenever you adjusted in the sand. Ao’nung sat up right his hands on his thighs waiting for you to copy his posture.
“I want you to breath in how you would do before you swim.” Ao’nung said he flicked his hand motioning for you to do as he said. He watched you take a small breath, (which you thought was big), the way you eyes had a taint of concentration and your eyebrows furrowed when you inhaled. He thought it was adorable.
“That was a pathetic breath Y/N.” Ao’nung stated blankly looking into your eyes. He’d never look away from them if he didn’t have to. “You breathe through your chest, breathe through your stomach instead.”
Following his instructions you breathed through your stomach but it was still ‘pathetic’. Ao’nung closely watched how your chest shook when you took a deep breath and the way your hands that relaxed on your thighs became tense when you inhaled.
He scooted closer to you, resting on his feet as he sat beside you. Leaning in and placing his hand on the skin of your ribs. “You need to relax.”
It was hypocritical for him to say that because as soon as he laid his hand on you he felt like he was buzzing. His blood rushing through his body fast, as his eyes fixated on the beauty of your face. The way you closed your eyes and concentrated was so beautiful. No. You were beautiful.
He couldn’t deny it to himself any longer. His feelings towards you were strong. Stronger than any condemnation to your clan, your skill, or your family.
While Ao’nung has an inner monologue with himself, you were hot. Hot and flustered with the way his hand rested on yourself. You couldn’t decide if you wanted his hand to stay there forever and for him to never be apart from you or rip himself off of your skin and attack his face with your lips. There was no way you could relax. Not in a million years.
“I cannot relax.” You say looking up at him as you grab his hand, one of your hands holding his pinkie the other holding his thumb. Ao’nung felt as if a part of himself was torn off when his hand left you. But he couldn’t complain as you hands tightly held onto his finger. He squinted his eyes in confusion as you open and closed your mouth thinking of words to say.
“I cannot relax with your hands on me.” You said barely above a whisper looking down still holding onto him.
Ao’nung felt confused. Was it because you hated how he touched you or were you feeling the same as him. He hoped for the latter. He watched the way your hands were slightly shaking around his fingers. Your hair fell over your face as your head hung low. You couldn’t meet his strong gaze. It was intimidating.
“Then I won’t touch you.” He said pulling his hand out of your grasp backing away from you so that you were slightly less than arms reach apart. His eyes bored into you. He watched you carefully, his head tilted slightly.
“No no.” You said scooting towards him. You put your hand onto his chest where his was just before. Ao’nung let out a short breath making you chuckle slightly. His body tensed up and his heartbeat skyrocketed. He couldn’t ever hate this feeling like he felt he should. He wanted your hands on him constantly. “See it’s hard to relax in a situation like this.” You chuckled about to take your hand off his warm body.
However, Ao’nung had other plans. Hastily grabbing your hand with both of his and roughly placing it on his heart. His hands squeezed your hands tightly as you stared at him with anticipation. A long pause occurred as Ao’nung looked as if he was about to scream into the air.
“Y/N do you feel this? Do you feel how fast my heart is beating for you right now? Can you hear it thumping as I do? It feels as if it is ready to jump out of my skin. Why do you make me feel this way? I didn’t sleep at all last night. You know why? I was up thinking about you. Your stupid tail, your hair, your laugh, your smile, everything about you.”
Ao’nung’s tongue moved fast as he spilt his thoughts into words. He stared deeply into your eyes feeling like his stomach was twisting inside out. How could he spill that? What possessed him to say something so utterly stupid.
“Ao’nung I-.” You stuttered looking at him as he placed your hands back down. He looked dejected ready to get up and leave. He couldn’t stand how thick the air had started to feel. He had to leave.
You wouldn’t let him do that. Putting both hands on his shoulders nervously shaking as you blinked your eyes rapidly to avoid looking at him. He took his hand and guided your chin up to look him in the eye. “Please say something Y/N, don’t leave me in this tortuous suspense any longer.”
“I feel your heartbeat. My heartbeat resembles yours. I may have slept last night but all my dreams consisted of you. You're stuck in my mind constantly Ao’nung and it feels so wrong. But I want to be wrong…with you.” You couldn’t help but look at him. The way his eyes lit up and his signature smile was painted across his face.
His thumb caressed your cheek as his calloused knuckles ran across your face. His eyes darted from your loving stare down to your lips that you were slightly biting the inside of. Moving his thumb from your cheek he dragged it across your bottom lip.
You noticed the glint in his eyes and then he crashed his lips into yours. Like fireworks lightly in your chests you kissed him back passionately. Ao’nung couldn’t believe this was happening, his other hand came up to the other side of your face to deepen the kiss.
It felt magnificent, the way his lips felt on yours, the way his hands gripped your face and the way your heart beat for him.
Soon he parted from his lips resting his forehead on yours. Both out of breath you gazed into each other’s eyes. “Y/N, my forest girl.” He whispered into your ear then once again sharing a soft kiss with you.

Mixed Feelings

summary: ao’nung is having mixed feelings about the second eldest sully, toruk ,makto’s first daughter, y/n, he should hate her just like he does the rest so why does he need to be close to you.

read pt2 & pt3
──── ⑅*❀*⑅ ────
Ao’nung had been burdened with the task of teaching these outsiders, these freaks. He just couldn’t believe it. Their tails were useless in the water and their arms were skinny and weak. There were five of them, two sons and three daughters. He hated them all, god why were they disrupting everything on his island, he liked his home so why must it change.
 Waiting in the water for them all to jump in for the first time he got to get a closer look at you. You seemed different to your siblings, you were quieter not as outspoken as the short boy and not as feisty as the skinny girl. He could learn their names but what was the point, he was never going to talk to them apart from teaching them to not be useless.
But you, he knew your name. Y/N, it was somehow so beautiful to him. He hated it. It sounded so magical when he would say it out loud he felt like gargling the salty sea to rid of your name’s taste. He could watch you swim forever. You were like a baby, hopelessly paddling your legs, kicking at full speed to even try to catch up to him and his siblings. Every few seconds you would launch back up out of the water with dire determination.
“What is wrong with them.” He signed to his sister. God he hated how useless you all were. He shouldn’t have to teach this. It’s meant to be natural. This isn’t natural. It felt natural to be near you though. To swim by you or watch you get entranced by the reef’s animals. He hated that it felt natural with you. Like he was just sharing a swim with someone who was extremely, extremely terrible at swimming.
Rising to the top of the water he saw you gasping for your breath. Your mouth agape as your legs moved hastily to try and keep your head above the water. The waves washed over your face making it harder to actually get a full breath. “I can’t breathe underwater.” You gasped out softly still trying to balance your breathing.
Ao’nung was sick of seeing you struggle so much. “Y/N I’m going to hold you until you catch your breath.” You were shocked at his kindness and so were your brothers. “You’re just like a child, useless.” He finished his sentence picking you up bridal style using his tail to support his body.
“Thankyou for your kind words Ao’nung.” You grimaced at him, peering into his teal eyes. They were kind of pretty, you thought to yourself. Only kind of.
“Don’t test me I will drown you right here.” He whispered into your ear, his breath tickling your cheek. Rolling your eyes, you try to pry yourself out of Ao’nung’s grip, but his hands were tight around your thigh and ribs.
 Ao’nung didn’t want to let you go just yet he was enjoying holding you against his own morals. Oh, how he hated, how his skin even under the cold water felt hot were it touched yours. The way his heart fluttered when you looked into his eyes even when you were being sarcastic to him. He wanted to swim away and take you to just stare at you.
The rest of the group was noticing the odd looks you both were giving to each other. Even Tuk was weirded out by Ao’nung’s sudden kindness as if he wasn’t teasing her brothers just before.
Soon everyone had returned to their pod’s and rested letting the trials of the day wash over them as they slept. But not Ao’nung and not Y/N.
No, they were wide awake. In separate pod’s their thoughts battered their brains of the other. Ao’nung couldn’t shake the feeling of his finger tips on your thigh. The way his fingers went numb from digging them into your blue skin.
And you couldn’t stop thinking about the way his eyes looked. The way his mouth contorted into a smirk when he laughed at your brothers. And you couldn’t forget the way his hand wrapped around your thigh. The way he refused to let you go until eventually Lo’ak said he was keeping you hostage like a creep. Which resulted in an immediate sparring match of words between the two.
No amount of slow breathing and listening to the surroundings could put either you or Ao’nung to sleep. Both of you had the similar idea of going to the docks to feel some sort of comfort. Comfort like the sound of the waves crashing against the wooden poles.
You sat there first letting your feet hang off the dock, your toes skimming the water. The night sky was clear, and the view was just the same as the one at home. It made you feel at ease, calm, relaxed.
But that stopped as Ao’nung sat beside you. Seeing him made your heart beat fast and your mouth go dry.
“You do know its unsafe to be out so late. Especially when you don’t know these waters.” Ao’nung quietly spoke not looking you in the eye as he kicked the water with his big toe sending ripples out to the rest of the sea.
“I couldn’t sleep. It’s calm out here.” You said in reply resting your hands back to put your body’s pressure in your palms. Ao’nung looked at you as your body glimmered in the moonlight. Glowing dots freckling your face and body. He was amazed by your beauty. But what was there to like, you were so different. Maybe that is what was charming him. You’re so fascinating to him. The way you’re so similar yet so different.
“Oh…me too.” Ao’nung stated carelessly. He tried to sound like his usual inconsiderate self even though every bone in his body screamed at him to ask why you couldn’t sleep. Was something bothering you? Looming your mind? Of course, it was. Everything was new to you it must be so overwhelming. He thought.
“I should head back soon. I don’t want mother to wake up frightened.” You said beginning to stand up but Ao’nung grabbed a hold of your hand. His hand was much bigger than yours it made you flustered the way he was so much bigger than you.
“Let me take you back… you know because you’re like a baby. You’ll get lost and cry.” Ao’nung said standing close to you. You looked into his eyes. It’s like his pupils were begging you to say yes to a simple walk. So, you caved and nodded.
Ao’nung squeezed your hand as you walked together back to your family’s pod. “You know Ao’nung you could always say something nice without following it with something cruel.” You smirked at him. He rolled his eyes as he scoffed.
“Don’t push my kindness Y/N it is thin.” He sneered but in an almost playful way. Walking towards your pod you stood just before the entrance so you couldn’t see into the pod yet.
“Thankyou for taking me on this very long dangerous walk. How will I ever repay you.” You joked swinging the hand that was still connected to his. Ao’nung smirked down at you chuckling at your humour.
“Promise me to meet me at the shore tomorrow. You need some breathing lessons. Because well, you suck.” Dropping your jaw jokingly you used your free hand to lightly push his shoulder back.
“I need to go Ao’nung. I’ll meet you tomorrow.” Ao’nung nodded slowly his eyes showing a glint of sadness that this moment with you must end.
Bringing your hand up to his lips he softly kissed the top of your knuckles. “Goodnight, Y/N. Sleep Well.” He watched you return back into the safety of your family’s pod and began to walk back to his own. There is no way he can now sleep with the thoughts of you swimming around his brain.

Months had passed since I was left alone at stone island by Ao’nung’s friends almost a full year actually. So many things have changed since then, we lost Neteyam to the war almost half a year ago. Ao’nung had completed his Iknimaya about four months ago and got his first tattoo his own Marui, the three beads for his songcord and a special garment that ended up being chest harness that was similar to his fathers but still uniquely his. I had bonded with a Tulkun about two months ago which makes Lo’ak and I one step closer to completing our Iknimaya. Kiri and Spider have gotten closer if that’s even possible and we’ve been teaching Spider the way of the Metkayina and he’s learning very well. Tuk has made friends with almost every child in the village. Ronal our Tsahik had her baby a little sister Tsireya was very excited to be an older sister, Watching Ao’nung and his baby sister interact made me realize. I want to start a family with him one day, not any day soon but one day. As the latest eligible male in the clan Ao’nung has had the attention of many of the females especially since he’s the next Olo’eyktan much to my dismay. Tomorrow marks the day a year ago that Ao’nung and I told each other that we cared for eachother it is also the day of my Iknimaya.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A group made up of clan warriors escorted me to an island about an hour away from our home island where the Tsurak or skimwing’s live until we make a bond with them much like the Ikran in the floating mountains. Waiting on the island for me is Tonowari and Ronal the
Olo’eyktan and the Tsahik, only them and the warriors that brought me here are allowed to stay. Family and friends are all back on the island waiting for my return hopefully as a full member of the clan.
Tonowari greets me with a kind smile as Ronal pulls me into a hug, once Ronal releases me we turn to Tonowari and he begins to speak
“Y/N sully this is your last right of Iknimaya when you succeed you’ll be a full member of the Metkayina, you’ll be able to choose a mate and you’ll receive your first tattoo as well as the other traditional gifts. You will be one of our people.”
He gives me a reassuring smile to help with my nerves and speaks once more
“Y/N go into the water and claim your Tsurak”
With a deep breath I turn and walk into the waves.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It takes a little under an hour but I was able to claim my very on skimwing. I glide up to the shore where Ronal claps for me and Tonowari wears the grin of what I can only describe as a proud father. Everyone knows Ao’nung and I care for one another and intend to choose each other as Mates, his parents are extremely supportive of us too. When I dismount and walk to them I’m pulled into a tight hug by both and even once Tonowari releases me Ronal holds tight and whispers in my ear.
“ you will make a wonderful Tsahik one day my dear, Ao’nung is luck to have you welcome to the family.”
I return her hug even tighter now with a large smile gracing my face.
When we release each other everyone gets on to their respective Tsurak and we begin our journey back to our home.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As the island comes into view we can see a large bonfire on the beach the entire clan ready to celebrate on our return which shocks me just a little and I give Tonowari a questioning look.
“ the entire clan was confident you would succeed today “ he says as we reach the shore as we all dismount and walk towards the group I see Ao’nung on the beach and I want nothing more than to run to him but I know I must be introduce by our leader.
“ Metkayina people welcome our newest clan member Y/N” he said in a loud voice cheers and sounds of approval filled the beach
He glances at me and whispers under his breath “ go to him” all while a proud smile graces his face.
Once I have my all clear I sprint to Ao’nung and launch into his arms my legs wrapping around his waist we both laugh as he holds me up by my legs. I can feel his large hands gripping at my thighs just like that day a year ago. I rest my forehead on his and we smile. I sigh and in the lightest breath whisper
“I see you and I love you “
His grip on my thighs tighten and a small gasp escapes me only loud enough for him to hear.
“ and I see you Y/N, my Mate. I love you.” He whispers back.
He releases my legs reluctantly setting me back to the ground and nods towards my approaching family. We greet them together hand in hand. The evening is spent laughing and celebrating, I of course tease Lo,ak just a little seeing as everyone originally thought he’d be the first of us to complete Iknimaya. Throughout the evening many people greet me and welcome me as a full member to the clan through it all Ao’nung never leaves my side until his and my parents walk up to us he leans down to whisper in my ear.
“ I’ll be right back I have to grab something for you I’ll meet you at your new Marui my mate.”
He releases my hand as our mothers reach us and disappears into the crowd.
Ronal and my mother embrace me into a hug, my mom has a few stray tears on her face so I wipe them off and smile at her.
Ronal and my mother both present me with a songcord bead.
The bead from Ronal is a small spiraled shell
“To represent you being one of the Metkayina now” she says.
My mother steps forward to present the next bead it’s a wooden bead that has red paint on the outside.
“I made it out of a piece of my fathers bow it was made from the wood of our home tree from before the war, it’s to represent the Omatikaya where you were born. My mother explains.
Ronal speaks once more.
“You may receive your first tattoo tomorrow for now go find your Marui Ao’nung is there with your piece of clothing and your last bead.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It only took about 10 minutes to find the newest Marui. When I walk in Ao’nung greats me with shy smile and holds out his hands in them is a beautifully crafted top that looks quite similar to the one his mother wore the day we first met. The main difference between the two garments is that Ronal’s is made of brown/ orange leather and orange and yellow beads with a few larger blue pieces at the very edges, but this one was made of black leather with beads as blue as the sea and ones that match the shade of metkayina skin but the part that brings it all together and makes it uniquely me are the green beads scattered throughout the piece. Sitting just on top of the garment is a shell with a single pearl in it.
I move forward and hug Ao’nung so quickly he has to try not to drop the gifts.
“I love them Ao’nung so much, I’m just not sure the top will fit me.” I mutter just loud enough for him to hear
He tilts his head to the side.
“Why wouldn’t it I made it myself ?” He asks
My face turns hot and goes a slightly darker blue color on my cheeks ears and chest “because my chest is bigger” I barely whisper.
Taking a breath I continue.
“I know you’ve noticed. My chess is bigger than regular Na’vi because of the human genes from my father.”
He chuckles and smirks.
“I know they are larger I’ve always liked it . It’s Like when a Na’vi woman is about to have a babe but yours are always like that…… imagine what they’ll be like when we do have a babe.” He says still with a devious look on his face.
I can’t stop the heat from consuming my face entirely it’s warm to the touch. He’s still wearing a lazy smirk and chuckling lightly until I start to talk.
“Can you untie this top the tie is on my neck, I want to wear the one you got me.” Now it’s my turn to smirk as he blushes. Nodding slowly he steps around me and caresses my neck and shoulders softly making me momentarily stop breathing. After only a moment of hesitation I feel the string being pulled and my current top falls to the ground with a thud. I can hear Ao’nung swallow hard, his fingers still running along my neck. Pulling away for only a moment to grab the new top he returns and lays it lightly over my chest. As he does this one of his long fingers brushes the side of my breast, I suck in a quick breath and he holds his.
“Ao’nung….” I whisper his name almost pleadingly.
“Don’t ….. I promised your brother we wouldn’t do anything.” he growls his fingers still barely touching me.
“Eywa give me strength…..” he mutters.
Leaning forward he begins placing light kisses on my neck making me even more breathless the hand resting just above my breast lowers slowly and it fills his whole hand. When he begins to kneed my breast I moan and that makes him growl into my neck. As he kisses where my neck meets my shoulder I shudder and he bites at it making me cry out as soon as I do I feel him groan into the place he just bit his breathing just as shallow as mine. With one hand playing with my boob he reaches around with the other arm and wraps his large hand around my waist pulling me back into him fully. His hands feel so large and strong on my body gripping and pulling at me, He is mine and I am his. We are destined by eywa to be together.
Ao’nung pulls away and turns me around but before I can say anything.
“Jump.” He whispers in my ear.
I don’t hesitate and jump into his arms one large hand gripping my thigh roughly the other grabs my chin and pulls me into a wild kiss, the top he made now forgotten on the floor. We’re barely breathing as we kiss each other he pulls me even closer and in that moment we both feel my nipples rub against his chest he growls as I moan, My one hand is gripping his shoulder the other finds it’s way to his hair and grips it tightly he gasps at this. When he does we both pull away panting. Walking over to a desk of sorts he leans on it almost sitting and with the way he’s holding me I’m now practically straddling his waist my boobs level with his face. With a wicked smile before I can process what he’s about to do he takes one of my nipples into his mouth tongue swirling around it, I’m whimpering and mewling but it’s not until he give my nipple a bite that I loudly moan his name for the first time. At hearing his name roll off my lips like that he freezes completely hands gripping my waist so hard that if I were human they would be broken. I hear a small pop as he releases my nipple from his mouth a small string of saliva following.
“I will not dishonor you and our future mate bond by not having us mate before the spirit tree as tradition says.” He says grinding his teeth slightly trying to reign in his desires. “I.WILL.HAVE.YOU.MATE……” he says each word slowly “but not this night” he finishes speaking setting me down onto the ground. Standing up he goes to retrieve the new top and walks to me, I smile at him and turn around. Placing the top on me he ties it and I turn towards him still grinning like a fool.
“It’s beautiful Ao’nung. I love it and I love you, I can’t wait to start our life together.” I say as I pull him into a hug.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Five years later
“Neteya “ I shout “go meet with your uncle Lo’ak and Aunt Tsireya I’ll meet you all at the beach” I say trying to stand but my growing belly makes it harder. My four year old daughter already running out of our marui and toward her uncles. Sneaking up behind me my mate comes in and helps me stand caressing my belly. When I’m finally up and standing Ao’nung kneels in front of me so that he’s level with my growing baby bump. “ be nice to your mother today little warrior it’s an important day after all your cousin is being welcomed into the clan.” He says and then kisses my belly when he rises he kisses me too and we go meet our family and clan on the beach. We preform the duty’s as Olo’eyktan and Tsahik since Tonowari and Ronal stepped down last year . It was our first time leading a communion with eywa to welcome a new baby into the clan.
Good thing Lo’ak and Tsireya were family.
This is the Prologue to the story
This is part 1
And part 2
I’ve never tried to link anything before so If this doesn’t work out I’ll keep trying !
——————————————————————————
Part 3
We all jolt and look around trying to find the source of the scream when all eyes focus on Ronal, she’s panting and clutching her baby bum and it all seems to click at once. Most of the group is frozen possibly in shock but I jump up ready to help I see Kiri and Tsireya jump up also. When we look at each other it’s me who speaks.
“Shit it’s the baby ! Kiri Tsireya go get the Marui ready. Tonowari can you carry her ?”
We’re all about to start running to help but Ronal grunts out a “No , we won’t have time the baby is coming now I trained you three for this you can do it.”
The three of us girls that were trained by her lock eyes and walk to each other we take each others hands and take a few deep breaths without thinking about it we all speak at once
“Get her into the water” and we break apart all going to complete different tasks.
I walk over to Ao’nung he’s stressed you can see it on his face so I take his face in my hands
“Be calm we will take good care of your mother we’ve been training for this. Trust me ok. I need your help though I need you to go get your mother’s birthing kit from the Marui.” I tell him while running my thumb across his face, I lightly brush his lower lip. He nods taking on a look of brave determination then he takes hold of my hand and kisses my palm and takes off running into the village. Kiri sends Jake and Neytiri to go inform the village and let them know that we would update them when there was news. And lastly Tsireya stayed by her mothers side helping her with breathing as Tonowari carried his mate into the water.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Many hours had passed, we had long since sent everyone away at Ronal’s command including her mate the beach was filled with sounds of her struggles. We were all sure that the entire village could hear from the other side of the island. Tsireya focused on keeping her mother calm and directing her through breathing, Kiri focused on the spiritual aspects, and I delivered the babe.
The entire beach seemed to fall into a deafening silence for only a few seconds before I hear the babe in my arms start to cry.
Ronal looks up at me out of breath and very clearly exhausted.
“ Tsireya and Kiri will escort me to my family’s Marui and make final preparations for the little one to join us there. You dearest Y/N should take my new son to his father and tell the Clan all is well. “ she huffs out at us
We all nod and begin to move. The babe seems to quiet down as I walk with him. I cradle the baby boy into my arms and begin walking to the main part of the village where meetings are held, I can see the whole clan as I approach and they all turn to look at me as I walk to the middle where Tonowari and Ao’nung are standing, my family is off to the side. I stop in front of my clan leader and hold out his son to him he takes him happily and I begin to speak.
“The Tsahik is well she is recovering and the girls are helping Finnish up preparations for the babe at your Marui.”
The entire clan gathers around to sneak a peak of the new babe. In all the chaos Ao’nung moves to my side and discreetly takes my hand holding it in his and squeezes, I squeeze his hand back and smile without looking at him but I know he can see me at the angle he’s facing. Tonowari finishes up talking with the clan and makes his way over to us he smiles and hands Ao’nung his baby brother.
Ao’nung is silent for a few moments but a large grin breaks out on his face and he laughs
“He’s cute ……. But not as cute as me” he says while chuckling. Father and son laugh together and it takes a second but I giggle too and that soon turns into a full laugh with them.
When I finally stop laughing I look up and Ao’nung is staring at me and I turn away feeling my face heat up. Our attention is drawn to Tonowari when he asks
“Will you two care for him for an hour or two, I wish to see your mother and make sure she’s well rested.”
Before I can agree Ao’nung answers for us both
“Of course father we’d be happy to” as he says this he looks at me and we smile at each other.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We’ve been walking around for only about 20 minutes when the baby starts to cry, Ao’nung tries a few different thing to get him to stop but nothing is really working. I walk in front of him and start leading him to the beach
“Follow me I have an idea” I tell him as we walk. Once we get to my hiding spot on the far side of the island I walk about until the water is about half way to my knee it’s warm and gentle. I make my way to where I see a few rocks so we can lean against them but before I can sit down I hear Ao’nungs voice
“ can you take the baby for a second I have an idea”
“Of course” I reply to him as I reach out to take the crying baby. When I have the baby securely in my arms Ao’nung walks to one of the bigger rocks and sits with his back leaning against the rocks his knees bent and open he smiles
“Sit here and lean your back on me the rocks hurt” he says as he invites me over
“O..ok” I mutter feeling my face warm once again.
It takes a little bit of coordinating between us but once I’m finally sitting I lean back and feel his warm chest on my back. His arms wrap around mine as we lower the baby into my lap so there’s just a little water on his back and legs. It doesn’t even take a full minute before he stopped crying. Ao’nung and I both sigh in relief and when I do I lay my head back onto his shoulder and look at the stars.
“My mother was from the stars she was a sky person in the Avatar program with Jake, my father was Tsu’tey he was supposed to mate with Neytiri before everything with Jake happened. In the final fight they rode together as brothers he died there and my mother she died giving birth to me. When I was born Neteyam was only a few months older than me so we practically got raised together always exploring or going on an adventure and when the others were born we started acting as their protectors. We had to stick together many excepted us as Na’vi but before Lo’ak was born there were a few who didn’t they would tell me I was a demon sky person like my mother and that’s why no one would ever love me, that that’s why everyone around me always dies. I had never believed it…… not until Neteyam died” I paused to take a breath before I spoke again “ that day that I kicked you in the face here on the beach it’s when I realized that I wanted to keep living to be happy again and and keep his memory alive by living” a few tears slid down my face as I turned my head to look at Ao’nung he was look at me too. I take a deep breath this time “there’s something I need to tell you” I hesitate for a split second but push on because I know if I don’t say this now I never will I look into his eyes and whisper “ I see you and I love you” the second I say it his lips are on mine.
We kiss for what seems like forever and at the same time not long enough but it comes to an abrupt end when we hear a giggle. Looking down we see his little brother staring at us and giggling. Laughing along with the baby Ao’nung moves his arms so his hand is resting just below my navel and leans forward to whisper in my ear.
“ we could have one of our own you know”
I can hear the smirk on his face as my own turns flushed and hot.
I jerk forward as he chuckles
“Ao’nung you Skxawng shut up ! Don’t joke about that” I scoff at him.
“I’m not joking” he answers with a grin.
For a reason I don’t understand y’all seem to like my writing or at least the story but as long as you guys want to read I’ll write stuff ! And thank you for all the support !!! I still don’t know how to link things or add pics or anything but I’ll figure it out at some point
Part 2
——————————————————————————
Ever since the day I kicked Ao’nung in the face life hasn’t been as horrible and empty I’ve even become closer with Ao’nung and Rotxo. Things will never be as they once were but I think Neteyam would tell me to stop being a skxawng, to stop waisting my life. All life is a gift from Eywa and should be treaded as such, every year every day every hour every minute every second is a gift so I should do something with it. At least that’s what Lo’ak in all his infinite wisdom said to me one night as I sat alone on the far side of the island. Watching him March up to me that night and tell me this isn’t what Neteyam would want for me I couldn’t help but smile and tell him in that moment I saw his brother in him and that Neteyam would be very proud of the man he was becoming. We both cried that night sitting together and talking, it’s the night I admitted to Lo’ak that I feel I’m close to losing myself and I promised I would try to live not only to honor the memory of Neteyam but for my family for the sully’s. It took some time but after a few weeks I find myself sometimes spending the day with Ao’nung and Rotxo and some of their friends or I even spend time with Tsireya and Kiri, I’ve even been asked to join the Tsahik lessons they receive when Kiri spilled the beans that I had been unofficially training with Mo’at before we left the Omatikaya clan. The current Tsahik Ronal will train Ao’nungs future mate when the time comes but until then she wants us to learn what we can that way when she has her baby there will be a few of us that can help around the village with simple things. When I wasn’t with them I spend days with Jake, Lo’ak and spider we run missions and ever now and again we go to the forest to meet up with Norm and the clan to plan battle strategy, other days I spend with Neytiri and Tuk going around the village helping with any stray task or even helping Tuk with lessons. Ao’nung has been helping me learn to use a spear how to dive better how to learn the way of the water,at one point I thought about asking Tsireya but I know she spends her spare time with Lo’ak and I’d never take that time together away from them but I also wasn’t comfortable asking someone I didn’t know so I asked Ao’nung. Who better to teach me the ways of the clan more than the future Olo’eyktan himself even if he is a skxawng sometimes. Once a week Ao’nung, Tsireya, Lo’ak and I would go for training with Lo’ak’s spirit brother payakan seeing as we are the first 4 that will be preforming our Iknmaya, the three of them only have to bond with a Tsurak. I however still need to bond with a Tulkun preform all the tasks and then bond with a Tsurak too. It was during one of our days like this that all of our lives changed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The way the light catches on the water is mesmerizing the flickers of animals shadows as they swim by distracting me slightly but the biggest shadow is that of the Tulkun that swims above Ao’nung and I, we can see the small silhouettes that belong to our respective siblings as they swim with payakan holding his fin. I must have been distracted for to long because Ao’nung flicks a shell at me and begins signing that I need to focus on my task, I nod and begin swimming just above the sea floor far deeper than I’d been able to just a few months prior. My goal to stay under water as long as I could, my ability to hold my breath under water has been getting much better. I’ve taken to reciting the mantra of the Metkayina in my head but as I’ve gotten better at holding my breath I’ve taken to learning how to sign it, Ao’nung sits in front of me in the sand under the waves. Looking at Ao’nung I begin to sign
“The way of water has no beginning and no end.The sea is around you and in you.” The first two lines were easy enough they were all motions I’ve seen before or even used myself. “The sea is your home, before your birth and after your death. Our hearts beat in the” I’m able to sign but the next word womb I pause I’d never seen anyone sign that before so I look up to Ao’ nung and motion the word “help.” He nods at me and smiles positioning his hand about three inches below his navel where a woman’s womb would be and made a circle motion. When I try to copy the motion I must do it wrong because he makes a sound of disapproval and gets up to swim towards me. I’m sitting cross legged on the ground as he swims behind me and while he’s still in my view he motions for me to kneel. Once he’s directly behind me he kneels his chest presses into my back as he leans forward to wrap his hand over mine, once he has it he flattens my hand over my womb his pressed firmly into mine and moves my hand in a clockwise motion. It takes a few moments but when he releases my hand he doesn’t back away instead I see him reach both arms around me and motion for me to “try again.”
Taking care to slow my heart I try signing the entire line again “Our hearts beat in the womb of the world.” I successfully Finnish the line. When I’m done I spin around quickly and throw my arms around Ao’nungs neck making him let out a startled noise and a few bubbles. You can’t really fall when you’re under water but with the weight I threw into this hug we hit the sea floor. There’s sand everywhere, as we try and twist and get away it just kicks up more I can’t see anything can’t tell which way is up or down. What I do feel seconds later are large hands grabbing my one on my waist the other on my neck then I’m pulled into a chest. When I try to move Ao’nung holds me tighter to his chest so I stop. It’s been a minute or two according to the count in my head but my neck if starting to hurt from holding it at an odd angle for so long so I decide to lay my head on his chest. Once I do I feel him relax a little and thread his fingers into my hair. It takes a few more minutes for the sand to finally settle but when it does I look up to Ao’nung and smile then place my head back where it was for just a few moments longer.
The way of water has no beginning and no end. The sea is around you and in you. The sea is your home, before your birth and after your death. Our hearts beat in the womb of the world. Our breath burns in the shadows of the deep. The sea gives and the sea takes. Water connects all things. Life to death. Darkness to light.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It’s been a few days since the under water sand storm incident and I’ve been avoiding Ao’nung because of it, not entire sure now to deal with the fact that I’m pretty sure I have feelings for the young man. I find myself on the same deserted part of the island I practically lived at for the first few months after I lost my first love.About 6 months had passed since we lost Neteyam and I know he would want me to live and be happy but I still feel like I’m betraying him by caring for Ao’nung.
“Sis” I hear a voice I’d know anywhere say. When I whip around and see all of my surrogate siblings Lo’ak leading the party.
When the entire group reaches me they all take a seat Lo’ak right across from me Kiri and Spider on either side of us and Tuk sits right in my lap giving me a hug as she does.
“How we can help?” Kiri asks giving me a soft smile while taking my hand. Squeezing her hand I smile back and sigh I take a look at each person here starting with Kiri then Lo’ak, Spider and finally Tuk, she smiles and nods for me to tell them.
“Would you hate me if I cared for Ao’nung” i finally mutter after several minutes
The three older kids look like they’re all about to start saying things at once and i wince but little Tuk beats them to it
“Y/N we could never hate you, not for anything your just as much a sully as we are and sully’s stick together you grew up along side each of us you are our sister with or without having mated with Neteyam.” She pauses to take a deep breath and sees I’m about to say something” I’m not done!” She giggles. “Neteyam would want you to be happy like he would for all of us, We want you to be happy too so do mom and dad.” Before I can say anything Kiri speaks next.
“ it’s not like your forgetting him or disrespecting his memory by loving someone else. Wouldn’t you want him to move on at some point and be happy too if it had been you that we lost.” I nod as Lo’ak starts speaking
“I said my peace a few months ago but what I will say is let us be here for you ok you skxawng.” I laugh out as I cry quietly we all look to spider but he’s quiet for a moment or two.
“ I’m not the same species but I am one of you and that’s because you always treated me like the sully kids, you taught me the same things you taught them, helped me with anything I needed just like you would them, you even stood up for me at times when others didn’t, you were the one that tried to fight my dads unit to get me back in the forest that night.” He pauses “ you have always been and will always be my big sister and you deserve all the happiness in this world.” He finishes speaking and looks up at me. They all look at me and I’m not entirely sure what to say. It takes a few minutes for me to stop crying but once I do I get a genius idea. Without waiting I launch from my spot on the ground onto Lo’ak and lay across his stomach and yell “ DOG PILE !” the other three scramble up to join in all of us laughing and making comments so loud that we don’t hear Jake and Neytiri walk up with with Ronal, Tonowari, Ao’nung, Tsireya, and Rotxo. Everyone but the Sully parents look at us like we’re crazy. When Ao’nung and Tsireya look at each other they smile and acknowledge the love they both share for a sully sibling. When we all finally untangle from the dog pile still laughing we start to help each other up and wave at the group looking at us. We end up making a bonfire on the beach and sitting there as one big group laughing and taking together and sharing fun stories for what seems like hours. After awhile I find myself next to Ao’nung and after slightly longer I rest my head on his strong shoulder he brings one hand to my hair and plays with it everything is amazing until we hear someone scream
HI! I LOVED YOUR AONUNG STORY! <3 Can you make another aonung x sully reader. Like when the sully family arrive aonung notices the reader first and he bullies her so much because hes not use to having a crush which she ignores his bullying at first then aonung friends thought he actually hates her so they take the reader outside the reef and leave her there and then aonung finds out and goes out the reef to save her. and finds her wounded. (happy ending tho) IF U DO THIS THANK YOU SO MUCH <33
Straight up disclaimer this is not good in my opinion but I did have fun writing it I’m still learning and figuring out writing but I’m excited to keep learning and trying
One shot Hidden feelings
Y/N first person POV
Ever since my family and I got here the clan leaders son has been hostile toward all of us but my twin Lo’ak and I specifically. The day we met the clan it started with just dirty looks as our time here progressed it became cruel words mixed in with those looks of dislike, it seems like he’s always looking at us waiting for the opportunity to jump in and make fun of us again. Any time I catch a glance of Ao’nung he’s already looking at me waiting for me to fail but he looks away quickly when our eyes meet. I’m with my older brother Neteyam today we’re taking a stroll around the village when we hear some yelling over towards the more deserted part of the island.
“LEAVE US ALONE” I hear the familiar voice of my sister Kiri
Neteyam is already walking towards them by time I see what’s happening, Ao’nung and his friends messing with Lo’ak and Kiri. Neteyam is already breaking up the fight as I make it there.
“You heard what she said. Leave them alone.”
He almost growls at the group messing with our siblings
We were almost free with no problems but Lo’ak went back he starts balling up his fist showing it to Ao’nung and I smirk, Neteyam and Kiri watch also knowing what Lo’ak is about to do. When Lo’ak knocks Ao’nung on his ass a big fight breaks out Neteyam joins in and my brothers hold their own pretty well for awhile until Rotxo knocks Lo’ak down with him and Ao’nung is standing over my twin,neteyam was holding off the other 3 boys pretty well so I did the only thing I could I tackled Ao’nung. As we rolled through the water on the shore he wraps his arms around me and pulls me into his chest repositioning his arm to cradle my head and protect it. When we finally stop rolling I’m on top of him our legs tangled together. When I try and sit up my legs fall to either side of his waist my hands are on his chest helping push me up when he sees me above him he sits up using his arms to lean back and smirks at me glancing to the position we’re in. I don’t realize the fight behind me had ended but Neteyam had come over and grabs me to help me up.
After getting reamed by our dad Lo’ak was sent to make peace I walked with him all the way to the beach but he left to go meet up with Ao’nung, Rotxo and one other boy that were in the water with their ilu’s I watch them clasp arms and begin to swim away, once they are out of view I walk into the water and begin to swim out and I call to an ilu intending to just swim around the village and explore a little. I’ve only been out in the water for about 10 minutes when I notice the other boys from the fight swim up to me I know their Ao’nung’s friends, when they reach me they wave and greet me.
“We’re going to meet up with Ao’nung and the others we wanted tok know if you wanted to join us” one of them said and smiled at me
“Sure” I mutter in suspicion but I know my father would want me to make peace if I could.
They lead the way as we begin to swim with our ilu’s outside the reef it’s amazing and beautiful and I don’t really think about the fact that I have no idea where we are or how to get back. We get to an area with some large rock structures they begin to slow when we all come to a stop they look back at me.
“ Ao’nung your brother and the others are on the far side of that rock island there but we’ll have to swim there without the ilu’s it’s dangerous for them, we’ll get them sorted out if you want to go meet up with them” they told me as they pointed to the island
“Okay thank you” I said as I slid off the ilu starting to swim around the rocks towards the far end of the little island. When I finally clear the edge of the island and get to the other side I stop and look around but I can’t see anyone and I start to get scared. By the time I swim back to where I left the ilu’s with the others they are long gone.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Third person POV
When Ao’nung and Rotxo got back they saw the rest of their friends standing on the shore laughing together.
“What’s so funny I bet what we have to tell you is better” Rotxo chuckled as they join the others
“We saw you with the Forrest boy and figured out what you were going to do so we went and found his twin to do the same to her now maybe both the forest kids will learn their lesson” one of the random boys laughed
Ao’nung whipped around to look at him the little leader of this dumb idea “WHAT!?” He growled. Taking one large and quick step forward towards his absolute skxawng of a friend. Ao’nung reaches forward grabs the base of this guys Queue where it connected to his skull and hair.
” where Is she ?” Ao’nung asks darkly looking like he could kill this boy. When the boy stutters and mumbles under his breath asking why it matters Ao’nung kicks his ankles from under him dropping him to the ground and presses his arm against his throat cutting off his air just a little.
“We left her at stone Island” the boy chokes and gasps out trying to claw at Ao’nung’s arm. Without hesitating Ao’nung releases the boy and jumps into the water while calling to his ilu on his way to go find the girl he’s secretly in love with.
Even going as fast as he could it took him the better part of the afternoon to get there, and once he did he couldn’t find her he was actually about to give up to go get help from his father when he notices a very odd shape up on the island. Ao’nung jumps off his ilu and begins to climb the rocks leading to the island being extra careful not to grab the extra sharp rocks or use those ones as footholds. When he gets to the top of the island he sees Y/N laying there unmoving. Fear grips his soul as he runs to her and falls to her side, she’s breathing at the very least he can see her chest rising and falling weakly. He checks her over looking for anything to explain why she’s like this, when he reaches her legs he can see a puddle of blood looking closer he sees the large gash on her foot. She must have stepped on one of the sharp rocks and cut her foot open and been unable to stop the bleeding.
Ao’nung picks up Y/N and cradles her in his arms as he carefully brings her back to his ilu and begins the journey back praying to the great mother that if Y/N is ok he’d be kinder to all the Sully’s and tell the girl in his arms just how he feels about her.
After what feels like an eternity Ao’nung finally makes it back to the village, no one seems to take much notice as he carry’s Y/N through the village to his mother the clan Tsahik.
Ronal gives her son a disapproving look knowing he’d done something but simply instructs him to put the girl down healing her is far more important at the moment.
Ao’nung spends so much time pacing and watching his mother work and stitch the girl up that Ronal had enough and kicked him out, he grumbled and tried to stay but she was having none of it and made him leave. Once the Curtain was closed he went to find Neteyam and tell him about Lo’ak and try to make amends.
“Tell him what you told me!” Neteyam shouted forcing Ao’nung in front of Jake and Neytiri.
An hour or so bad passed Lo’ak was returned home safe and even took the blame for Ao’nung
“Why did you take the blame for me” he had asked”
“I know what it’s like to be one big disappointment” …….. “ and you helped my sister” Lo’ak had replied offering him his arm as a truce they clasped arms no more words shared between them but they both started walking towards the village together when Ronal met them
“The girl is awake I’ve just returned her to the sully family at their Mauri” she told them
Ao’nung looked in that direction about to go make sure Y/N was ok he would never doubt his mothers skill as Tsahik but he needed to see for himself he needed to see her.
Before he could even take a step in her direction his mother called to him “come Ao’nung it is late you will see her tomorrow” he did not want to risk anymore of his parents wrath tonight so he went willingly without complaint but still looked longingly in her direction. Eywa had protected his love and as he promised tomorrow he would tell her that she held his heart.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Y/N first person POV
When I awoke with the Tsahik Ronal I knew someone had come to save me but I figured it would have been my brother Neteyam he was always looking out for us younger siblings. However Ronal told me of how Ao’nung was the one to carry me to her looking distraught, he had told his mother about everything and she relayed the entire events of last night to me before returning me to my family last night. Everyone asked me questions about what happened but all I told them was that Ao’nung had realized I was gone and came to save me. My father and Neteyam were mad that I was protecting and defending him but Lo’ak and I seemed to have come to a mutual agreement that maybe just maybe Ao’nung and Rotxo weren’t that bad. It was later in the day that we all separated to complete everything we needed to get done for that day, I was able to Finnish my tasks a little early so I could go find Ao’nung I wanted to speak with him. I know he’s a free diver and a fisher so I head out to the reef on an ilu and try and find him. It took awhile but I can see him under the water not too deep so I dive. He noticed me coming and waits where he’s at for me when I finally reach him he smiles at me and signs hello. I smile and sign hello then I reach my arm out for him he thinks I’m just trying to clasp his arm in greeting but when I have his arm in mine I tug him towards me a string of bubbles escapes his mouth signaling his surprise as I wrap my arms around his neck giving him a hug, it takes him a moment but he wraps his arms around my waist hugging me back tightly. When we release each other I begin to sign to him thanking him sir saving me yesterday explaining that his mother had told me what happened when I was done he looked down sheepishly and put his hand on the back of his neck, it was very different to see him acting so shy but it was also extremely cute. After a moment of two he looks up and begins to sign “I begged our great mother Eywa to keep you safe and alive that if she did I would tell you my true feeling” I look at him confused but sign asking “ what true feelings Ao’nung?”
He looks at me for several moments before signing “I see you Y/N, and …….. and I love you” I gasp out of pure shock not even remembering we’re under water and I begin to choke. Without hesitation he grabs my arm and drags me to the surface. As soon as we break the surface I hear his warm voice “ breathe, Y/N are you ok?” I nod as I cough but my breathing stabilizes soon after and I turn to him. He swims us over to the side just a little so we’re next to a bit of the reef that has a wall like structure that breaches the water. I give him a small shy smile and move closer to him in the water wrapping my arms around him once again but this time it’s different. I look up our faces and lips only centimeters apart and whisper
“Ao’nung I see you”
Our lips meet in a frenzied kiss his large hands grip my waist roughly as he pulls me impossibly close to his body. This lasts for a solid minute before I bite his lower lip and he grunts but we don’t stop. I bit his lip again and he pulls away “stop teasing me Y/N ” he growls out in warning
I smirk “make me”
He reaches down and grabs my thigh and wraps it around his waist and at the same time kisses me again but this time he bites my lip and I gasp out a small moan. He flips me around my back pressing against the wall of coral firm but not painful. He pulls away with a groan “we need to stop” he whispers in my ear then pulls away farther.
Without any warning I hear another voice “ you two might want to stop trying to mate each other where everyone can see! Especially since Neteyam is right over there. The voice laughs out
I jump startled and pull my leg off of Ao’nungs waist his hand falling away. We turn our heads and see Rotxo about 15 feet away laughing and about 40 feet away is my older brother. After a few seconds Ao’nung and I look at eachother and break apart fully.
“Smart choice big brother is almost here he would have killed you seeing you with his little sister like that” Rotxo laughed louder after making the statement
Ao’nung game him a dirty look
“Shut up you skxawng” he barked at his friend.
Heartfelt - Ao’nung
[ Ao’nung x Sully!reader ]
Request: COULD YOU DO AONUNG X SULLY! READER?? Maybe she’s a Lo’ak’s twin or something and somehow Aonung starts to really like her and he shows it by not letting the metkayina tease her, or treating her siblings with respect when she’s close [read the second request here]
Warnings: a little angst ig? has a happy ending though
Word Count: 2,659
Tumblr media
Not a moment in your life felt more tiring than right now. It had been so long since you were able to properly walk on solid ground when you had to stay on the Ikran for your entire journey, and when you slowly opened your eyes to see the mangrove island in the distance as Lo’ak shook you awake, relief flooded your entire body.
The view surrounding you was like a breath of fresh air. After spending your entire life in the forests, the waters were a new sight you could get used to.
Though the welcome you got didn’t feel so welcoming. The dislike you felt towards the Olo’eyktan’s sons grew more and more each day they picked on your siblings.
And then you noticed the tingling feeling. Maybe he thought he had been discreet enough, but you weren’t daft. You could feel the eldest brother’s stare at your back when you weren’t looking, and the lingering gaze he’d have on you when you were doing the most casual things.
Ao’nung had always picked on you the least from the beginning, and he’d make sure not to pick on any of your siblings whilst you were around.
Which was why Lo’ak often brought you with him and insisted he clung to you when he had to meet them, just like right now.
“Would you stop that,” you snapped, shoving your twin’s hand away.
“Come on. That prick likes you and it’s disgusting.”
“So what if he likes me? He’s not that bad.”
“Yeah,” Lo’ak scoffed. “Only because he doesn’t pick on you.”
You ignored Lo’ak, skipping your way through the Maruis’ pathway with your siblings behind you. Although Lo’ak and Kiri would tell you of the terrible things Ao’nung and his friends would do when you weren’t around, you couldn’t seem to understand how terrible they actually were.
“Hey, careful.” You were too busy looking back at your siblings to pay attention to where you were going. A pair of hands gently gripped at your arms, steadying you when you bumped into their chest.
“Hey,” you greeted Ao’nung softly as he pushed some distance between the two of you. Rotxo was snickering behind him and Lo’ak just looked purely agitated at your exchange.
Your twin grumbled as he went around you and Ao’nung, Tsireya and Rotxo following behind him. Neteyam lightly flicked the back of your head as he and Kiri passed by. When you glared behind you, you saw the teasing smile on his face as he looked at you before refocusing his gaze to the front.
“Come on, let’s go,” Ao’nung said, nodding to your siblings.
It wasn’t as if you were bad at this. You’d just been here for a few days and water was not your area of expertise, that’s all. At least, that’s what you tried to believe when you and your siblings lagged behind the Metkayinas again for the fifth hundredth time.
“Here. Let me help.” You turned around to see Ao’nung behind you, his hand outstretched towards you.
From the corner of your eyes, you could see Lo’ak giving a silent look of protest to Neteyam who just shrugged in response when you hesitantly took the Metkayina’s hand.
“Deep breath,” he instructed.
When you dove under, you could feel yourself being pulled, making you move faster than usual with Ao’nung’s help.
The corner of his lips curved upwards when he saw you still in awe at the sight surrounding you, even after seeing it plenty of times. It was what had attracted him to you in the first place; the way your eyes would shine when you’d so easily fall in love with your surroundings.
‘It feels better when you look around’ Ao’nung was careful to make sure he’d use words you had already learned from them. ‘Not worrying about swimming faster’
‘You swim too fast’ you protested. At this point, you were getting more confident that you knew plenty enough words with the hand signs.
Ao’nung shook his head before swimming closer to you. You were about to back away when you felt the rock that was against you, causing your heart to speed up.
‘Is this okay?’
‘Yes’
‘Can I…’ Your brows furrowed in confusion at his last hand movement. Maybe there were words you had missed after all.
Ao’nung took notice of your confusion and brought a finger to your lips in answer. You felt your pulse quicken and every sober thought dissipated from your mind.
You could barely think, let alone remember how to move your hands to say yes, so you just nodded.
At your approval, Ao’nung cupped your jaw, bringing you forward as his lips connected with yours. His other hand pulled you closer by your waist as yours rested on the nearest part of his body it could find.
You felt lightheaded, and you couldn’t form a single thought when his thumb was gently stroking your waist while his lips moved against yours in a way that made your stomach turn.
It was only when you pulled away, you realized your mistake. Ao’nung might’ve been adapted with the water his entire life, but you weren’t, and you came to realize that as you felt the lack of oxygen from the surrounding water.
Luckily, Ao’nung was quick to react, pulling you upwards with him towards the surface. You gasped once your head was out of the water and Ao’nung wrapped his arms around you as you leaned on him for support.
“You okay?”
“Great.”
The kisses happened more frequently than you’d thought it would. When you were swimming, he’d lead you behind a huge rock or coral to steal a kiss underwater. When you were separated from your siblings, he’d lead you somewhere enclosed to kiss you.
You were walking alone back to your Marui at night when you felt hands pulling you into a secluded corner. Your first thought was to scream, but you felt a hand over your mouth, muffling whatever terrified noise you were about to let out.
There was no room to see who had you in their hold when it was dark and you were constantly hitting and kicking in an attempt to escape.
“Relax, it’s me.” Your movements faltered and your breathing steadied when you heard Ao’nung’s familiar laugh.
“Skxawng,” you scowled and hit him in the chest. “I thought I was going to die.”
“Sorry,” he apologized, prying your hand away from his chest and bringing it up to his lips.
Ao’nung took a step closer and pulled you forward by your hand as he leaned down to meet your lips with his.
It wasn’t the usual quick and chaste kiss he’d steal from you. This time, Ao’nung took his time, making sure to leave you breathless afterwards from the stroke of his thumb on your thigh, and the low groans he’d let out.
“I need to go check on the ilus,” Ao’nung whispered against your lips as he pulled away.
Your disappointment was fully on display for Ao’nung to see, and you hoped it was enough to make him stay a little longer.
“You owe me for scaring me,” you argued as he distanced himself even further.
“Next time.” He kissed the corner of your mouth. “Promise.”
Before you could let out any more protests, Ao’nung was already gone and you were left leaning against the mangrove wall with your mind still partially stumped.
You quickly shook off the daze you had and resumed your walk back to your Marui. Dad and Kiri were outside, their feet dipped in the water when you passed by, and you could hear Neteyam speaking to your mother inside.
“Have you seen Lo’ak?” Neteyam asked the second you entered the Marui. Your brother looked like he had just ran laps around the village.
“What no. Why?”
“I can’t find him. I saw him last with Ao’nung.”
“I was just with Ao’nung.”
Neteyam groaned in frustration before running out through the entrance.
“Hey! Wait up!” you called out, tagging along behind your brother.
“Where is he?”
“Near the ilus,” you answered, trying to keep up with Neteyam’s fast pace.
There weren’t that many people around, but still enough to slow you down and you wondered why they couldn’t have made the pathways much wider.
You walked around the people lingering in your way, occasionally muttering apologies when you’d bump into some of them by accident.
“Ao’nung.” You heard Neteyam call out as you finally caught up to him. Ao’nung turned to face your brother and then he noticed you.
“Do you know where Lo’ak went?” You spoke before your brother could.
“I haven’t seen him since the sun was still up,” your brother interjected. “I saw him last with you. Do you know where he is?”
Neteyam noticed the way Ao’nung’s eyes would constantly shift to you. He wasn’t oblivious. Neteyam knew and although he wanted to shove a fish up Ao’nung’s mouth whenever he’d flirt with you, he could also tell how much you liked the Skxawng.
Your brother sighed and grabbed the Metkayina’s shoulders with his hands, leading him away and out of sight from you.
He left no room for you to complain when he glanced back to give you a look, just as you opened your mouth to say your arguments.
It certainly felt terrible being kept in the dark, especially when you saw your brother dragging Ao’nung to your dad and ignoring your questions.
“Tell him what you told me,” Neteyam ordered, slightly shoving the Metkayina forward. Your dad looked just as confused as you were.
Ao’nung’s eyes shifted to you before he let out a defeated breath and faced your dad. “I told Lo’ak we were going hunting outside the reef. We led him to a spot and then left him there.”
“But,” continued Neteyam when he saw Ao’nung’s hesitance. “The area’s home to dangerous hostile creatures.”
“What?” your dad asked in disbelief, the same time as you did. Though yours sounded more like a genuine question; baffled that Ao’nung would pull such a thing.
Your father wasted no time and got up, already heading towards Tonowari, with Kiri left trailing behind him.
“What? How could you? He could be dead by now.” your words sounded more pleading than angry, and Ao’nung felt his heart sank even more when he finally realized how hurt and betrayed you looked.
“I-“
“Don’t touch me,” you hissed, backing away when he tried reaching for you.
“Listen I-“
“You heard what she said,” Neteyam warned, stepping in between the two of you. “Back off.”
If Ao’nung hadn’t looked devastated before, he definitely did now. The Metkayina stepped back and watched as your brother put an arm around you and guided you past him.
“You okay?” Neteyam asked, glancing down to look at you.
“Yeah.”
If you had listened to your siblings when they’d told you how terrible Ao’nung had been treating them, maybe you wouldn’t have to feel so betrayed by his actions. It wasn’t as if Lo’ak hadn’t tried to warn you in the first place.
-
“You know he apologized right?”
“Mhm,” you hummed in response without looking at your brother. “You’ve told me five times.”
“Don’t you think you should talk to him? He sulks when nobody’s paying attention, especially when his friends flirt with you,” Lo’ak reasoned from the opposite side of the room.
You hated to admit that you also did the same and it was probably obvious. There were times where Ao’nung would try apologizing, but you easily dismissed him and kept conversations short. You’d speak with him as if you were to speak with any other Metkayina, but you still had that barrier of tension in your friendship.
“I did.”
“You barely said a sentence.”
“What am I supposed to say?” Meeting Ao’nung was the last thing you wanted to do, but you didn’t want to seem like you were completely avoiding him by declining his request.
All you could do was walk in silence beside the Metkayina as he led you away from the village and closer to the shore.
It should’ve felt apprehensive following him alone at night, yet all you felt was curiosity as Ao’nung leaned down by a small rock to fetch something.
“What are you doing?” you asked. It was probably the first full sentence you’ve said to him ever since you met up tonight.
“Taking some food for the little guy.” Just as you were about to question him further, you heard the tiny chirping coming from the water.
Ao’nung walked deeper into the water as a tiny ilu emerged, its bioluminescent freckles glowing in the night. He threw the fish slightly above the air for it to catch in its mouth.
If there was anything that tugged on your heartstrings more than seeing the view underwater, it was the creatures that swam in it. You’ve never actually seen a baby ilu, only a full grown adult, and Ao’nung knew the path leading straight into your heart.
“Don’t you want to say hello?”
Skxawng. He knew you wouldn’t be able to resist and he wasn’t wrong.
“Here,” Ao’nung said, offering the small fish in his palm.
He watched as your fingers lightly brushed his as you took it and you couldn’t hold back the smile that came to you when the tiny creature chirped happily as you threw the fish at it.
Ao’nung mimicked your smile at the sight of the heartfelt interaction. He felt like he could finally breathe again. He’d always loved the smile you had whenever you were in awe with the environment and its creatures.
“She was born a few days ago,” Ao’nung informed, gently petting her head with the back of his fingers. “Wasn’t allowed to separate from her mother until this morning.”
The ilu turned to you, flapping its tiny flippers in the water before approaching you. As you reached out to pet her, the ilu swam away, leaving you confused at what you did wrong.
“That’s her mother,” Ao’nung answered your silent question and you turned around to see the full grown ilu freely swimming in the distant.
Now that your source of comfort swam away, you suddenly realized the situation you were in. Ao’nung was nearing you and you still had no idea what to say to him.
It wasn’t as if you wanted to give him the silent treatment on purpose. You just had no idea how to fix things when Ao’nung purposely left your brother to fend off for himself in a death trap.
“You already know what I’m going to say, but I just want to fix things between us,” he started. “I’m sorry for what I did and I hope you can find it in you to forgive me. Can we just- start over?”
Instead of forming any sort of answer in your head, you did the most impulsive thing you could have possibly responded with.
You could feel Ao’nung’s heartbeat under your palms when you placed your hands on his chest and leaned forward to give him a soft kiss.
“I already forgave you.”
To say the adults were surprised was an understatement. Ronal was bewildered at the news. Though you rendered your parents a tiny bit speechless, they didn’t seem to show any negative reactions towards your relationship with the chief’s son. Kiri and Neteyam had been betting amongst themselves on how long it would take for you to man up and finally not deny whatever was going on between you and Ao’nung.
It took a while for the news to sink in, but once it did, the two of you became more annoyingly endearing to watch than anything.
“Would you stop that? My eyes are going to explode if I have to witness this any longer,” Lo’ak protested as Ao’nung kept annoying you, which only looked like flirting in everyone else’s eyes.
“No, no. I want to see what she does to him.”
If you read the little prologue to this story this is part 1 like I said over there I do not write but I’m trying it out I don’t know how to link the other one to this so idk man but here it is lmk if y’all are liking it if ya want more stuff like that 🤷🏼‍♀️
——————————————————————————
Part 1 the true beginning
Day after day, task after task, raid after raid every day is the same and yet everything has changed since the day we lost Neteyam. I wake every morning greet the sully family, my family we talk eat our first meal of the day together and then we all split and complete our tasks for the day . Jake runs missions and training with the other warriors some days I go on missions with them when they need eyes in the sky and an Ikran is the best choice, Lo’ak is a warrior in training so he’s there some days too but others he’s spending his day with his spirit brother Payakan the talkun or even spending his days with Tsireya. When we’re not doing those things the older kids fish to provide food to the tribe. Tuk has lessons with the other metkayina children. But the one thing that is special is our Iknmaya training for our coming of age it’s also the only thing that brings all of us older kids together into one place and is for the most part peaceful. Iknmaya for the metkayina includes bonding with a tsurak their version of a warrior mount much how the Omatikaya have the Ikran. As well as other various tests with their Talkun brother or sister and so far Kiri and I are the ones being left behind , but even she is getting Tsahik training alongside Tsireya by personal invetation from the current Tsahik Ronal she says Kiri has a special gift a connection with Eywa which is true. So really it’s just me getting left behind. Lo’ak has excelled he’s done all the tests and rights with the Talkun all he has left is to bond with a Tsurak and he’s getting closer every day. Lo’ak, Tsireya, Aonung, Rotxo , Kiri and I make up one group of young adults training with the Ilu there are other groups with more young adults practicing. Jake and Tonowari decided this group would do us all good for bonding purposes considering it seems like Lo’ak and Tsireya will likely choose each other as mates as soon as they complete their Iknmaya. Most days when I’ve completed all my assigned tasks for the day I find myself on the far side of the island where it’s almost deserted sitting on the rocks with my feet in the water thinking about all sorts of things my Family the sullys my new clan, my old clan, my parents, the sky people , the life I could have had with Neteyam of only we had stayed in the forest and there was peace he would take over as Olo’eyktan I became the Tsahik and we had the guidance of our family to help us be good leaders. Some days I dream of little children running around with his smile and laugh my eyes or his nose in these dreams our kids always favor him and I wouldn’t have it any other way, but that’s all it is a dream of something that will never pass. Im not sure I’ve smiled since the day we lost neteyam I don’t have any reason to.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- [ ] I’m sitting on the rocks hiding from the whole village and so lost in thought that I don’t notice the shadow of something moving in the water near my feet until something touches my ankle. I scream and kick out my heel connects with something hard and I focus as it makes a disgruntled sound “ what the hell Y/N ?!” Aonung yells jumping up from his hiding spot in the water Rotxo pops up slightly farther away laughing a full belly laugh like me kicking Aonung in the face is the funniest thing ever which it might be. “ I’m sorry you scared me I didn’t mean to” I yelped as I jumped into the shallow water rushing to Aonung, he had his hand pressed agains his nose as he was standing there in mild shock. “Let me see Aonung” I demanded once I got closer he took a step back and hissed at me, I pause and raise my hands “ please let me look I promise I didn’t mean to and I can help” reluctantly he lowers his hand and I see some blood running from his left nostril. I grabbed his arm and start waking towards the rocks dragging him as I go “ I’m sorry Aonung sit here and I’ll go get something to stop the bleeding or something to plug your nose with, maybe a poultice would help”. “y/n“. “I should never have gotten so distracted” “ y/n”. “Maybe I can …” “ Y/N!” Aonung yelled I look at him slightly shocked “what?” “It’s stopped on its own I’m fine” he mutters “oh” is all I can say as I realize I’m standing between his knees pushing him by his shoulder onto the rocks him slightly shorter than me while he’s sitting down. I take a step back and look down and watch the water flow over my feet like it’s the most interesting thing I’ve ever seen. I somehow seem to have forgotten Aonung’s best friend Rotxo was there until he walks up next to us “ bro she got you good” he exclaims still laughing at the other boy, “ bro ? you two have been spending to much time with Lo’ak” I giggle as I look between the two they look at me like they have never seen me before or like I have another head “ what ?” I ask rolling my eyes “ have I grown another head ?” “no” both boys answer but it’s Aonung that actually gives me an answer “you haven’t smiled or laughed in a long time it’s good to see again”. I look at him strangely for only a moment more “ you right. I haven’t had much to smile about but I think I should start finding some reasons to or I’ll lose myself to my own mind “ I say to them while looking to the stars “ “even if it is to laugh at one of my friends being an absolute skxawgn” sneaking a glance at aonung as I say that last part.
