texts expressing how much you both missed one another when you were apart...

he wishes you could go back to that.

when you both loved one another endlessly and unconditionally.

when his heart skipped a beat at every time he got a new text from you.

when he wasn't missing your voice.

when he wasn't missing your hand intertwined with his.

when your absence beside him wasn't deafening.

when his heart didn't feel like it was breaking into a million tiny little pieces.

he almost texts you.

he almost tells you he misses you.

how your absence in his life has suddenly created a void that he didn't know was ever there in the first place.

but he resists.

he needs to let you go.

let you live your life as he learns to live his without you.

there's no way you're feeling the same way about him anyway.
