New story Idea. What are your thoughts?
"No greater national service can be given by men and women of good will — who, I know, are not unmindful of the responsibilities of citizenship — than that they should, by their example, assist in stamping out crime and outlawry by refusing participation in and condemning all transactions with illegal liquor."
~Herbert Hoover (Shaw, 2021)
In an era when war was beginning to draw to a close, flappers were the epitome of style, and the spirit of endless partying permeated society, the allure of alcohol had reached an unprecedented zenith. President Hoover presided over a nation that was seemingly drowning in the allure of bootlegged liquor, and he faced a monumental decision - the prohibition of alcohol. This controversial move triggered a seismic shift in society, as citizens defied the government's decree by establishing secret distilleries and underground speakeasies. Some daring individuals even ventured into the treacherous world of bootlegging, forming dangerous alliances with infamous mobsters like the indomitable Al Capone, who defiantly quipped, "The country wanted booze and I organized it. Why should I be called a public enemy?" (Gibby-Brown, 2021).
As the nation grappled with the ban on alcohol, crime rates soared to unprecedented heights. Many legitimate businesses were forced to shutter their doors due to the financial struggles brought on by the prohibition, which pushed the government perilously close to bankruptcy. Simultaneously, gangsters and bootleggers amassed unimaginable wealth, a fact that drew intense scrutiny from government officials and law enforcement agencies. It was a tumultuous period in American history when the boundaries between legality and lawlessness blurred, and the very essence of the nation's identity seemed to hang in the balance.
It was during this turbulent epoch that a young woman crossed paths with a charismatic man who would become the linchpin of her life, setting in motion a chain of events with repercussions that would resonate for decades. Today, she resides in a retirement facility, her once-vibrant spirit now fragile and fading as time marches on. Her youthful choices and adventurous spirit had propelled her into a world of intrigue, danger, and profound consequences. My dear friend, not everything that glitters is gold. Let me share with you excerpts from her journals, in the hopes that her story will illuminate the path you are choosing, for history has a tendency to repeat itself.
Let's journey back to the moment she first met him, during a time when crime was at its zenith, a period famously known as the "Roaring Twenties." It was an era when a young, beautiful woman with flowing blonde hair and striking blue eyes believed that nothing could stand in the way of her dreams, dreams of exploring the world before settling down. This is her story, a tale of love, hate, and betrayal, as she relentlessly pursued her dreams amid the chaos and allure of an era defined by excess and rebellion.

An Interesting Tidbit, I was oblivious about when watching Pinocchio. Did you know that Mickey Mouse made a cameo in this movie and any other Disney movies?
Mickey Mouse has been the central mascot of the Walt Disney Corporation since his creation in 1928. The iconic cartoon character has seen many updates over the years, but his mouse ears, red pants, and white gloves are staples in the mouse's design—just three well-placed circles are enough to create Mickey’s recognizable silhouette. This geometric representation of Mickey Mouse is called a “Classic Mickey,” which Disney artists have hidden in a number of movies, including Pinocchio. After the Blue Fairy turns the puppet Pinocchio into a wooden boy, Geppetto and his cat Figaro and goldfish Cleo celebrate his arrival. When Pinocchio sets his finger on fire, Geppetto rushes to put it out. They pass by a chair, which looks like Mickey Mouse’s head.

Have you ever wondered what happened to the cartons we all loved and could not wait for Saturday's well, those Saturday Morning Cartoons were a part every child's life, until the early 2000s. The “Children’s TV Act” required networks to broadcast a certain amount of educational television per week, which the network executives used Saturday for this. I have attached a link for you to read if you are interested into the reason behind limiting our beloved cartoons.

Did you know that in Toy Story 2’s “Clear” Command. Toy Story, and the following chapters, are revered as one of Disney’s crowning achievements. It was their first foray into cartoon animation. Toy Story 2 almost didn’t see the light of day. One of the animators at the studio accidentally sent out a system-wide “clear” command, effectively erasing the film.
